the point on pve was that first we all know condis are simply weak (only exception i heard was new mobs designed to be weak against codni – husks),
and even there you dont need the spite signet for having overload , just stack as many fast bleeds and spread them.

Anyway dont use epidemic. There.
We simply cannot afford taking it over a 2nd stunbreak. Also, the place of a necro is in good 1v1 and all 2v2 but not in teamifghts 3v3+ as you get ganked there. So there really isnt much point to take epi, not to mention all the flaws of such long cast times.

i didnt play that much yet but yes, its getting there.

Before getting a “svanir at start” guy was pretty common, now id say all 10 poeple know at least how to safely play 2 points.

The daily class is still terrible and should be removed immediately.

I suggest the necro treatment – all skills are cancelled when enemy casually walks through you.

Joke aside aftercasts are the most stupid thing ever, whole game is insta or 1/4s casts with +0.5s after delays. It should just be a regular 0.75s cast, hit, and thats it.

3. Do everything you can to get life force. Someone dies off point? Hit them with staff 1 until they go down. Engineer turret sitting around on a point you’re decqpping? Staff 1 more. Don’t forgrt scepter 3 when someone has tons of condis.

A – defense utilty

Corrupt boon – dont forget that if you have big troubles in a 1v1, might is the next most important boon to corrupt. Changing a +10-25% extra dmg into -25% is bassically better than protection. Saves you against mes/thief/dps guard…
Wurm – immidiately summom and teleport destroy it at start to get 10% lf. It will probably come off CD when you will need it in first fight as its only 40s.
S.Walk – even with no cliff or balcon to jump and juke enemy, just running to one side of point and then teleporting back can create a gap between you and the hambot training you.
S.Armor – with weakness + protection , no direct damage should harm you. use this 8s period to go ham, almost like endure pain… you take 5k from my autos, i take only 3k from u, i have 25k hp, u have only 15k hp…. thats exactly the kind of trading blows you want as a necro.

B – offense

Ok back to: you poked the enemy to waste a dodge, youre teammates are celestial monkeys who can stand on node and theyre even applying the burning you dont have and they just set up an immobilize on the focus target. Nows the time you need to call out: “Fearing 3, 2, 1 – GO”

Usually its ds#3+ds#2 , exit ds , when you hit enemy weapon switch for geo proc if you have and finish it with a scepter#2 or dagger#5 as theyll be CCed long enough for the #5 to hit.
You just ported into the middle of enemies and should be heading back to safety somewhere off point. From there you mostly scepter autoatack enemy to death. It will take another or more DS fear bursts , but remember to call them out , do the ds#5+3+2 fast and get out so you dont waste LF and have DS ready for next burst in 10-15s.
If someone goes down, you should immediately switch to staff and put mark#3 under him so anyone trying to rezz will put insta poison on downed. Mark #4 and #5 for cleave pressure and interupting.
otherwise do scepter autos till 3rd poison hits then u can do #2 and #5 for aoe. Poison , aoe on downed and fear/corrupt on the rezzer is your job as a necro. You should mostly not stomp and in good comp cleave till death will be better than trying to stomp.
Plague stomp automatically does poison so tell others to just help with cleave, also press #1 do to bleeds for more cleave as you dont need the blind stomp with stabilty (unless a stabilty ripper is nearby then blind may be safer )

If nothing else, staff#1 now actualy hits poeple and is a great way to build LF for your next ds+weapon switch burst.

Sigil options:

  • 2x energy + 2x geomancy
    Best dmg agaisnt classes with little cleansing (mesmer). You can swap to staff offensively for switch+ #2 +#5 combo. But it really lacks the cover condi against stuff with lots of cleansing (ele, guard) especially in 1v1.
  • 2x energy + 2x frality
    Zombifiys recommendation. You cant go wrong with this and easily staying in scepter you can bring down the eles/guards by just staying in scepter. Best for 1v1 imo.
  • 2x energy + 1x frality on staff + 1x geomancy on scepter
    Noscoc uses this. You always start in staff and with 50% trigger chance a mark or ny other hit will put the cover condi on. Here i would suggest first hitting enemy with mark#2, so the bleed is put on first – and therefore cleansed last by the way the game works.
    Also beter to stay in scpeter untill you really need the utilty of the staff or you want to finish someone with the fear on the staff. Is best in 2v2 , where engie/ele firend will put the extra vuln.

Extras:
- you want to fight in favorable 1v1s
- you want to fight in almost all 2v2s
- you dont want to fight in “teamfights with support bunkers” aka 3v3+ … DS melts faster the more poeple are there to hit you and more poeple easier keep a chain CC on you – so necros should avoid it with no teleport or invulns…
- a 1-2-2 with 2 pushing far starting split is best if you have the comp who can hold and play on 3 nodes (look at abjured)
- you are better at attacking a node and probably deccaping it pretty fast with fears than you are at defending a node.
- learn the spots you can place wurm – theyre basically same as shadowstep spots
- if youre forsaker, walk into a chaos storm urself to hit him with reapers
- call thieves teef, warriors hambot, ele/engie celestial monkey, ranger pet boi, mesmer kage bunshin, guards charrdian
- it is always the teams fault for not supporting, peeling, rezzing you or just insta dying before your dots kick in

Ok so you do the safe poking when you engage some dangerous, a bigger teamfight where you can get ganked or if youre low and waiting for a heal to come up.
Now this usualy doesnt last longer than 5s (aka mark3, mark2, auto 1-2x, mark2 at max)… what will happen next is either
-enemy will jump/teleport to you (A)
-or you will go in and burst the focus target (B)

A – defense

A thief just jumped you. Clear the blind with staff#4. You can dodge+weapon swap and get dodge back. cripple+autoatack for kiting. if he gets close again, weakness will make him deal a lot less dmg. Try to fast transfer blind back with dagger#4 and immediately ds#3 fear him to break his stealth attack patern. follow up with ds5 and ds2 , then back to scepter autos and ds3+2 bursts every 15s.
Stay in scepter unless hes super low and you can burst him down with fear mark, or if you really need a dodge, mark4 for transfer, or mark3 chill for kiting.
SUPER IMPORTANT:
Learn to rotate camera and hit aoes behind you, while running forward. If enemy is closer you just easily put marks under/behind your feet while running forward. Fast turn around, autos, dodge + ds fear him into opposite direction while you walk to other side of point for range. Rinse and repeat.
Also, you just switched to staff and a thief is chasing you. Use mark#5 FIRST, then mark#3. So enemy gets feared first and walks away more distance, than if you chilled him first.

LF High Level Pvp Rangers

Nexed old leaderboard would put poeple with highest MMR on top.

New leaderboard uses still same MMR to find you poeple to play with. But it puts poeple with most points aka “most games played while wining a bit more than half of them” on top.

Example
What is more?
Winrate 75% of 100 games = about 50 pts
Winrate 55% of 1000 games = about 550 – 450 = 100 pts

Its basically a mid tier team will stay mid tier, but they will gain a lot of points if they have time to play as they win against low and other mid teams, while they dont lose much or even lose 0pts when they get matched against good teams.
It is even theoreticaly possible to lose all games 0% winrate and still gather points to become top on leaderboard.

Always start in staff.
Keep your 1200 distance and stand near/a pillar.
Throw a staff#3, it mostly makes them waste a dodge and it starts poison on healsig. Then 1-3 a few autos to get lifeforce, ull hit them cz theyre slowed hopefull.
Spamm staff#2 in between.
After that go hide behind line of sight.

This is basically a “poking phase” where you stand in safe distance , while preparing for the upcoming burst. Its same how a mesmer starts just GS1+air+fire sigil for 3k dmg, then hides a bit and repeats – so that when enemy comes to you , you have as much hp left while they already wasted CDs and are a few khp behind.

I am currently sleepy but i plan to write and finish this so well continue with the lecture tomorrow.

Youre not likely to be matched against other full 5x teams , you risk only 2 other players being noobs and you are not punished very hard to be put against a super pug.

Hey.

Terrormancer comes from the fear dealing damage trait “terror” , not he fear increasing duration trait “master of terror”.

Otherwise its the typical 2x wells build with axe/focus. The runes and sigils are a miss though, on this set travelrs works best.

You guys should really consider making each kill worth 100 points and finding a way to ensure everyone gets points for participation.

Otherwise, these changes might be okay. But it kind of encourages the worst aspect of the map, which is respawn zergs.

I have a feeling EU servers have been getting better compared to the realibility drop this year.

But with the short dcs awarding you with dishonor, is EU leading NA in total dishonor gathered and by how much?

Is it not possible to differentiate beetwen a afk getting kicked dc and a perosn raged and pulled cable out aka gw2 laggs and kicks you while teamspeak and even stream work flawless?
Im glad dishonoers will get penalty and actually wont be able to play, but the -3 will hurt someone who actualy trying sooo bad and i will probaly write rage bug report everytime it happens.

Definetly take frality or geomancy over generosity.

I got used to the build with 2x geomancy like prototype, but after zombifys advice i switched to double frality – it is very much worth it.

Nos takes the 1x frality 1x geomancy cz he has basically the best suport fro his teammates and they make good spikes. I would not recommend anyone but him to drop the constant extra vuln. condition for when in scpeter set where you should spend most of your time.

Below 50% were only afk poeple

Roughly, this were old “tiers” , where you could really see the playstyle of players being on a different level. So these should be borders between leagues.

1) Regen and NOTHING works through DS.

2) All vampiric traits and skills are useless – They are inferior in number as in being harder to pull of mechanicaly (ex. hitting 5x target with every skill or just switching to water and healing 2k)

3) Healing power is wasted on necro. There are almost no added heals and the only somewhat niche useful -well of blood – has been nerfed without reason.

You lose on all sustain fronts if you try vampire stuff.

I just checked and lost 23% on respawn.

I think it varries between 20-23% depending on stats, but if you dont even know that after 2years i doubt youll care for the small difference .
Ill stop arguing with you here, no offense i just dont feel in the mood in typing walls of text to explain everything you dont know – and to what same conclusion 100s of poeple with 1000s of games played have come to.

Nos seems to make necro work with ease. I suppose it is a player issue.

1) last months i watched nos has simply been in a league of his own

2) he usually has 2 amazing celes supporting him also

3) noss build actually got hit the least. with clunky wurm sacrifice it gets 13% / former 39% LF. and it has the 2x fears that protect u on the first encounter.

Ghost, im losing my trust in reasoning with you.

The game is already snowbally by itself.
There were a lot of discussions in last 2y about necros and one of the always brought up problems was the zero LF on respawn , bassicaly making it a game over if you need a comeback. The only then, was that poeple sad:
" meh, but you can get 20% on first spawn. And that 20% IS JUST FINE"

Everyone even all other classes and players agreed – A ZERO LF NECRO IS UNBALANCEDLY WEAK.

Now, that this scenario has become a fixed reality, this problem should not be avoided any longer and thats why poeple complain about it.

Ghost, you misread a few of my statements.

I wanted to tell henry that its very likely, that he is playing solo unranked and is getting paired with baddies. And that nec is just a bit harder to carry all the mistakes the supeer baddies do

And that if he finds a competent team, he will be fine against other teams.

P.S. im not the bad player you thought i am and henry try just sacrificing the wurm at start, it often comes off CD when u need it again. They should still normalize DS to something 20% on respawn

I find necro terrible in soloQ.
It needs other members to babysit you , them knowing how to move as you wont catch up to anyone sneaking a decap AND with current matchmaking – what use does me killing a engie in 20s make , if we have a downed guy after 5-10s.

Good necros in coordinated team comp… okay to super great when against engies.

So idk, since patch i lose A LOT on necro, i win more on alts, but when i team up with guild im 19/20 so far.

Necro cant carry baddies. It can carry medium vs medium team, just not total baddies who are flowing everywhere currently
Its just too slow for any uncoordinated rotations and the condi pressure takes a while to blow through CDs…. all while your r3 teammates die in 5-10s …. not to mention its them who should be babysiting the necro

I hope youve got a nice guild that appreciates you, thats what cheers me up.

Oldschool logic, but it doesnt work, heres why:

It puts necro in TEAMFIGHTS.
First poeple think there is where necro should be, safely doing lots of AOE + occasional fear/CB spike and interupting (not helping) rezz/stomp.
Thing is, necro has basicaly 0 self sustain and limited escapes – thus making it the perfect target. And even class mechaninc DS is weaker in bigger fights as it doesnt scale.

Here is “newschool logic” from the current necro master noscoc:
- most 1v1 are good for necro
- iirc all 2v2 are best for necro
- 3+ are teamfights, where bunker guard should be and necro shouldnt be – cz he is too easy to spike.
- also: partners for necro are anything but bunker guard – as they dont bring enough dmg

So with the current best spot for necro being 1v1 and mostly 2v2s – with better being on the attacking than defending node side – there is simply no need for epidemic
Maybe if it werent 99% uselss in 1v1….

Sad though, i like the boom of it would pay 1000g to make f2

The new PoC really opens up hemophillia over weakness shroud as you will very often corupt might into weakness – and with better uptime.

You dont need more bleeding duration than that + the rune can give u around +20% more ( 15% for nightmare case )

Terrible choice, compared to nightmare runes you trade
- 15% for ALL condies for +15% bleed , same poison and -15% every other condi ( basicaly 15% all condi vs 15% more bleeds)
- you lose a stupid OP opener , 2-3,5s long fear aka 2-3.500 dmg every 90s…. all for the poison field and abysmall direct dmg WHEN U GO DOWN.

The runes are useless , the downed fear trait isnt bad actually, just others are better as in more reliable.

And build wise, going for extra bleed duration in a 6pt spite build isnt worth it. super long bleeds WILL get cleansed , you need only longer regular and easpecialy fear durations in such a build – as youre basically a glassy condi burster.

Im an average player and far from being a sizer fan, i pretty much hate him and curse random doge the few times i face him.

Based on yesterdays performance?

Sizer did better.
On one side there was sizer, getting more decaps, holding and fighting against engies and almost stale mating against dd eles.
On other side of map there was toker, who here and there downed his natural prey.

Anet will nerf us in secret again. They will act all clever about giving us 20% LF at the start of the game and people will stop complaining. This is still a nerf though as previously we got 39% life force. So they SHOULD give us that if its not a nerf. They won’t though :P

It should be 20% ON RESPAWN , like we were saying for last years.

If its that much on every respawn, its more than worth it over 30-39% just on start. Remeber we want balanced games with some comeback potential, not unstopable snowballs.

Terrormancer was op anyway, and if this is the route Anet decided to go about a nerf…. you should be happy.

the build is still more than viable…. its just that you won’t have a pillowy death shroud cloud to ride into (your first) battle on.

The condi teror necro every second bad and almost no good player is complaining about – had abysmall life force generation.

There is no “pillow” its just, thief jumps u first fight → zero LF → no fear → respawn → repeat cz u lose 23% ds on respawn.

As much as i like power necro – i play it 80% of time – i think each class deserves a chance to at least get into a team with a good build – not “hello , im a necro , plz 2 ele carry me”.

And it was loooong problem since 2 years, the minion only were a bandaid over it. Hope that grouch addressed the asain necro player, the thing wont get overlooked by balance team.

It is a pretty worse version of turret engie.

So know you how high (or rather low) you can aim with the build.
