The swiftnes was added infirst year when warrior strugled with being kited by cripples. Now with addition of everlasting 100% immunities to the designed weakness of class, the swiftness just feels unnecessary.
They could remove it, and warrior would still be a disgrace.
The fact that youre asking for protection buff, on the broken stances whivh everyone takes 3x of them, is just ignorant greed.
I am looking forward to an warrior build that can DPS, Heal and CC, everything at the same time (to multiple targets if possible).

It will lower min/max scenarios , and for balance the value can just be changed.

What needs nerf?
Nightmare runes – long CD onetrick pony, not controlled by player
Trait reaper prot (maybe) – more reliable and protects necro from 1 cc
Zerker stance – the duration is broken and it should be -90% not full immunity

There, for 1000th time written the same stuff. We necros mostly dont like the nightmare runes either we arent stupid.
But we need quite a few defensive buffs. Also i find it strange, that the more 1v1 focused NA cant deal with this, while every top500 EU player beats this with a team build

TL,DR:
- Dont base any balance assumptions from wvw
- necro isnt in the role its designed to, and even in the undesigned role its still bad to others
- Sry if youre an engie, and get hard countered by a necro condi transfer. dont forget you can switch to celestial rifle and just CC us to death
now, ill try to explain what sustain is and why necros want it.
We want it because thats the class description and grand design.
We dont burst , retreat, burst to finish like thieves. We stay in the fight, and the LONGER the fight goes, the weaker enemy gets, the stronger we get, meaning we win at the long end. this is the design by which poeple chose necro at start
The devs said, they nerfed our ds#2 aoe teleport and they wont give us back the mobility.
For concrete balance, this means, necro will get focused, CC, cant move away, dies. Congratz, you just killed a necro fast. But now, if you dont, a necro should wear you down if you havea long fight right?

Here is the problem. WE DONT HAVE SUSTAIN FOR LONG FIGHT.
Warior with stupidity signet + perma fire field
Celestial ele decent dmg with great healing
Even dps guard in 1v1 has great sustained healing from meditations
Necro is supposed to die fast to focus but not die slow. But out healing is very, very bad.
So only thing we can do is go full glass or full “condi overload” and pray we kill enemy fast, cz were gonna lose on the long run.
Would we trade damage for survival?
Yes, just picking defensive traits would already put us away from our offensive ones. Also, enemy cleansing and healing is soo high in game, that our dmg isnt even that great currently.
Would we be unkillable?
Even if the small buffs / bugfixes were asking for, would make us a 1v1 GOD , we would still get wrecked by a CC spike in a teamfight…. (unlike warior for example -.- )

wvw IS unbalanced.
40% warrior , 40% guard, 10% ele , 10% necro , 1% mesmer, 0% thief , 0% ranger…. Thats how a ideal zerg is. The devs leave it in that state because its meant as a giant chaotic sandbox.
Then theres small scale – roaming…. stealth, nike warior and all other stuff. Again, they dont want to give us game mode without captures nodes in pvp, because they tested and wvw clearly shows what unbalanced junk comes out.
Last,
theres difference in numbers (lol fairness) and WvW AVERAGE player is pretty bad ( 30 poeple can have 15 underleves and PvE guys, which basicaly means 50% are idiots… and if not, you have all players in range from: 1 bad, 1 meh, 1 average, 1 ok, 1 good player…. PVP if youre ranked you “should” play 5 good vs. 5 good.)
Now, with above points, you can hopefully see,
that ANY class can do a “wow look at this” video in wvw. And video shows many new & bad players.
Like on start of game poeple looked more at wvw, now that most realized how bad enemys there are, its lost all credibility. U can kill 1v5x poeple, but noone knows their names and how good they are. If u show a clip from my tourny, my rank is 95%, that means that my enemys were all top 90-100% players for example.
This wasnt necro vs buffs , it was improving your general knowledge of how wvw works.
SOV actually fits necros perfectly, it just has terrible numbers/icd. Siphons fit necros perfectly, but the numbers simply aren’t good enough to make it viable.
Id argue that the thief signet is closer as it gives health when u attack aka siphon. getting a beating and shoution roar with moar strength sounds like a warior…. so yea, approve sending signet of bad to warriors

Steal – it’s “useless” untraited and “underpowered” when traited.
But it’s my favorite skill.
Steal is medium without traits, like most other mechanics.
With traits, mostly the stabilty interupt, are defenition of everpowered.

The CD reduction is huge and gives u more uptime onthe good stuff. Also d/p needs it for burst and gap closer, while it has a greap interupt on #4
S/d loses a the 1-2s of free damage and has to backstab for interupt
Id even give d/p a reduction of 4 to 3 initiative on pistol#3 to compensate

In numbers, they dont take many. They just have a broken 20s CD STABILITY interupt.
Meanwhile, on the anti-boon side, corrupt boon which prioritizes stability LAST, gets a cast increase

Not meant offensive, but some boon priority lists are simply unfair.
Id say wait till patch, test the axe/warhorn swiftness upkeep (replacing staff but its looking weak ) and potential S.Walk in your build.
If no, take traveler/speed runes, the boost without clicking anything and out of combat is amzing lazymode, i often rather run dungeons in my celestial traveler set than switch to zerker and keep clicking warhorn.

You used to get 1,6x or 5x bars of adrenaline with the overbrokenlong zerker stance. The duration or immunity isnt touched, you will only get 3x adrenaline bars gratis while in godmode.

Yes the guaranteed 3 condis removed every 8 seconds giant aoe that envelops more than the entire point that applies burning and does the same damage as an Eviscerate throughout the entire duration and is a catalyst for insane might stacks! It’s fine!

the 3 conditions removed every 7 – 10 seconds, is only “guaranteed” provided if the warrior is able to generate 30 strikes of adrenaline within 7 – 10 seconds, other wise, it is not.
also, the activation of combustive shot may be interrupted, causing the skill not to activate at all, and enter a 7 – 10 seconds recharge time.
the area of effect for combustive shot is only large, provided if full 30 strikes of adrenaline is achieved.
the burning condition can be very easily removed. and avoidable by not standing in the fire field.
the damage has been reduced in the past, and may deal damage similar to a level 2 Eviscerate provided if they stand in the fire field for the entire duration.
before you continue to complain about a perfectly balanced skill, would you kindly please look at “how balanced” the engineer profession is yourself?

Im pretty sure only the stomp precast is a question.
Any weapon cast should be interupted on DS, were not ele attunements. It would even more of a slow cast and pray machine, if youd be stuck chaneling your staff auto for another 1,3s before actualy starting to cast 1,2,4, or 5.
Also pretty sure DS + ice bow wont work
i tryed axe over staff this week, giving me a 2nd damaging weapon set to open, while getting a bit more LF and not needing soul marks trait.
It works in hotjoin.
Its still terrible in any level of tpvp.

I see it great in wvw zergs, and also good for wvw roamint. though i must say its more wvw roamers are dodging less than needing the open field range.

I think you’re missing the point. That’s for normal healing skills. This is not a normal healing skill. You ONLY heal if you take damage from enemies. So if you want to be healed, you have to make sure you get hit. And if the return from that is less health than the damage you are taking, then it’s not a heal.
Most #6 skill signets require something to heal. they should be worse since they are easymode passives, and signet of bad wont fix necro problems, as we have a perfectly fine working #6.
On side note, warior healing signet is actually an elite.
as it stands, DS is a transform, not a 3rd weapon set. it got its #5 skill only after being moved down to weapon slots in the UI and it doesnt trigger weapon swap signets.
Instant transforms, like mist form, small engie, plague form, can only be pre-cast. You cant interact, but somehow the instant transform didnt break the chanel
Lich has cast time, and so DS was actualy only transform that did this. If it will break the chanel and only allow to restart the animation once in DS is something we there fore cant know.
as engie, you may feel hate towards necros, as condi necro counters engie with transfers. even with thats, condi engie and especialy celestial rifle engie are better in pvp.
What u showed was a zerg vs zerg scenariom with power necros.
The magic recipe is
40% guard
40% warior
10% ele
10% necro
So with wvw being as unbalanced as it is, and power necro getting the lich nerf and no major improvemnts, the answer to your title is mostly no.
I would trade it for necro staff #4.

Nope. A copy of spectral armor 50% hp trait, giving necros even less control and bigger min/max life force scenarios.
Also, all 25% triggers are useless. 50% can do if its like stability on eles, but me going under 25% should not be a general balancing tactic.
I take it back, i mostly thought it was connected to the current lags or losing target.
They could improve their audio a bit, but like they said, its better to spend time actualy working instead of putting make up on.

There is no steal bug.
everyone is having massive lag spikes and dcs. theyre internet magic wires are probaby still getting repaired and also new feetcha pach brings more new players and more new bugs.

so you see a dogejump is a further jump. Its also not slowed by combat speed, meaning its always same distance.
1) like marvin said, wining a 1v1 with a selfish 1v1 build is easy.
winning a 1v1 with a “team-useful” build , in time, on point, knowing where to move next, is far harder.
2) Again, the point of above conquest mechanics.
You can lose every single 1v1, but if you have map awarness, you will decap, steal an objective, prevent a decap, help finish/stomp the cruical target in teamfight…. even if you can just 1v2 for long enough time, youre a worthy player and asset to your team
3) Amulets vs higher stats
amulets force u to make decisions. The higher and customizable stat pool, can cover too many weakneses, mainly always going for just bit of toughness
And then theres food…
4) PvE bad players vs Matchmaking , lower average
im not saying anything about the top WvW roamers. its just that from 100 poeple, theres 10 good ones, some average and some badies straight from PvE. This means your build meant to fight the average enemy.
In Tpvp , youl always be playing against the top 10% good ones.
Example:
-In Tpvp, my ranking puts me against top 90-100% of all pvp players
-In hotjoin, you can face random between 0-100%
5) PvP = more action
in pvp i fight every 30s, often not even getting out of combat when walking between points. In wvw you walk for 5min, kill 1 pve noob, then walk again. you get slower fighting experience
6) WvW popularity
theres quite a bit of players, actual 30+ man guilds playing wvw. Were sometimes jelaous of the higher playerbase and want them to join the dark side
Hope it helps, the important part was points 1&2:
-a pvp player can fight, with a team build, alone or 5v5, on node, with time limit, be aware of 5 enemy positions on map, enemy classes a.k.a. which fights to pick, special objective
-a wvw roamer can fight, most only with a safe 1v1 build
If youre undecisive (and mostly lazy ) you can start making celestial – all stat combo.
Youll buy quartz crystals, and take them to a “place of power” to make charged quartz. Limit is 1x per day, 5x and you can craft a armor/weapon. The trinkets are only ascended from laureals (dailies)
The good thing about is, you can try a bit of everything. Its about 60% of maximum, on all fronts
Max dps? Take offensive traits and skills and if u like it and dont die, go for more dmg gear then
Support? Trait wells and you can give nice protection, 400 healing per sec, condi remove, if youre with ba dgroup and others are just dying whole time
WvW zerg? Again trait for well, just diferently. Yoill have some dmg and survival
WvW roaming? I do it but yoll need to be creative and know necro to squezze out everything
Condi dmg? Well here you need real condi gear, but condies are in bad spot in PvE
Lazy factor? You dont need to change gear, just traits

I copyed nr1 from bhawb, and i think its one we all agree upon.
Its the basic of not being punished for using your own traits/mechanic.

ehm queston to anyone who actualy knows damage math.
before it was 4000power * 1000 something #1skill
now it will be 2000 power (zerker) * 2000 something #1 skill
This wont have any effect on dmg right? like in wvw, you could crit a squishy for 9k , while mostly it was 4,5k , 3k on heavy defense targets.
Im asking the dmg wont be any higher on high toughness targets because of the higher skill coeficient?
The tourny signups close this friday. Grouch already axplained that things are going at a fast pace, which i find great from arenanet.
They changed numbers and added a random from 5 instead of random 3 boons for mesmer.
Im hoping, but i just cant see them remodeling 2-4,5x animations for our weapons to be faster, in a week.
A good fast thing would be nightmare rune nerf to 1s fear, and revert of staff/scepter bleeds.
