Edit: Change it to 10x 6 maps= 60 votes total, so that you can play all maps if you like. In window showing maps for soloQ/teamQ , you leave a X or Checkmark on maps you give your vote, at end top 4/6 are still chosen by random.

Idea:
How about everyone gives vote AT START, the matchmaking system STAYS SAME doing its job, THEN a map is chosen randomly from top votes.
Example:
1) You vote , selecting 4/6 good maps
2) Press QUE
3) Matchmaking magic gathers 10 poeple
4) They equally shuffle them 5v5
5) 4/6 top voted maps
6) 1 map chosen randomly
Again, I think it is my most briliant idea ever , as it wouldnt affect que times , while keeping the random map factor so it stays interesting.

So basicaly aegis can totaly block focus #5 if theres aegis +3 boons on target, but the trait proc chill of death, will result in block and then just proccing on next hit.

Forgot, you get much better rewards in solo and teamQ. Given that hotjoin is a random flustercuck , youre chances of wining are 50/50. When your rating settles, youll face equak opponents, meaning again, 50/50 chances of wining, just more silver, more reward track, more rank points (finishers)
About a year ago we finaly got random maps in tourneys. It was to take a balanced build which is good on all 5 maps, instead hoping for 1/5 spirit watch and being orb runner build.
Now you have new features, enough time to totaly switch character and build for each game. This means, whoever want to abuse maps, can and will do it.
A vote system would be great. Let them play trollhamer 5x times in a row if they all want to.
The only exception is Skyhammer. Afking that map is perfectly legitimate.
As much as I really hate to screw my team.. I’ve taken to doing this in Skyhammer because I want Anet to see it in their stats.

Too slow, send some1 to either trade side points, or even better if u have such players, 1 thief sneaks a decap, while some1 tanky enough folows him home. he wont decap you and is ready to be ganked 2v1 when available.
Not advertising boring bunker tanks, just keep in mind its up to you to counter him.
1) you still get wining rewards if you get autobalanced. the system is not cheating you there
2) hotjoin is by definition NOT balanced. play it if u like it but dont expect balance from it
3) I see you were actualy trying to win. thats great, please listen, its not meant harsh or against you, youre just asking a very typical question that pops up every week:
- a) U want to win? Leave hotjoin and play soloQ. in hotjoin ppl dont care about win and just run around searching for fights. In tourneys ppl actuly try to hold points and win as a team. So the satisfaction is better
- b) Even if you lose at start, sooner or later the matchmaking system will start puting you against equaly skilled opponents.
- c) top scorer? do not pay attention to this part. It is actualy pretty useless, as it does n t mean you did the best things for your team. Basicaly like MVP in sports.
Example: you wiped enemy team at mid. You can go far, get decap , die to respawning full team, who then rush 4v5 mid and u lose it. In this case it would have been better for all just to wait around midpoint, for enemy to walk back, all the while your capture points keep ticking 2-1
Example 2: a decap engie trolls 2 enemys whole game on nevtral point. He only gets 10 personal score for decap, but holding 2x ppl and preventing their home node from bringing points is basicaly wining the game, as others will be 3v4 on other 2 points. (decap engie isnt viable top tier, just find it good example)
Again, jut leavi this score system alone, its useless, often even wrong at, showing whos good.
- d) check the twitch.tv streams and forum guides for how other good players play, builds and how to move around map. the rotations are very important, you can win better oponents or lose to much worse player if u make wrong moves at wrong times
Why do poeple care about hotjoin wins?
1) rewards? you get more if you soloq. even if youre new and bad, a few games and youll be matched with equaly bad players. + you will improve and one day be ready for teamQ and there, oh look, even more rewards than soloq
2) fun? if u like it, why not
3) The fun of wining? Wrong gamemode, again go soloQ. its a known fact ppl dont go for match win, just wanna fight someone.
4) Learning? its good if youre total beginer. you said “you know what to do”. i think that makes you ready for tpvp

What wrong with a shortbow? firing some green poison stuff that explodes in death from range? sounds ok for necro if u ask me.
Thing is, anything is OK. we have 4 weapons. FOUR. with no cleave and axe being soooo bad, even power scpeter is better (pvp). and ele as caster looks good with conjured bow and GS. So again, anything we get, ill take it just a list of what I would add:
1) torch – offensive condi weapon
2) sword – melee cleave + there are too many GS around and swords looks same awsome
3) short/long bow – ranged power , maybe hybrid if they get it right
I think it would be good to hear ventaris thoughts and explanation on the current state of necromancer. Both for condi and power.

Just to say, i play both necro and thief, but thief is THE APEX PREDATOR to all other zerkers.
Losing 1 teamfight to lich every 180s , means u can win 2x other teamfights if u focus the necro. Like i often win the 1st teamfight, but then they know the trick and go for me, and were mostly losing untill my elite is up again. Then its a lucky finish of bosses/tempel buff etc.
so now sword#2 is back to invul and u retaliation dmg?

how u use inteligence on staff? I got very used to the hydromancy+energy as I switch to staff when on defense, pretty much like thieves with shortbow.
I mean the autos arent bad on glassies if youre kiting, but if youre switching to staff, wont you activate a mark first? and does piercing/aoe marks count towards the next 3x attack 100% crit ?

zerker was 4s – 6s traited at first. It was realy short against condis. Then they made it 8s – 10s traited…… should be 6s base and 8s with trait IMO + dont forget it also gives a full adrenaline bar
The condi duration issue seems logic, i just have no idea how they could implement it like rly the game doesnt take incoming condi duration into factor and it would slow stuff down with multiple sources. maybe just making it 80% reduction would be ok, its realy cheap to not be able to even interupt with 165% – 100% = 0% condi duration

Just for not abusing instant shadowstep spots, id prefer it to be more of a “leap”.

The guardian shelter is and should probably stay, like if I on warhorn necro, actualy manage to interupt his heal, you could say I won half the teamfight.
The engie heal is annoying cz u cant interupt it, but i find the super low CD and their other healing sources (regen, backpack regen, block, blind field!!!!! omg hate this one freaking blind well just 2x lower CD ) to be far more troublesome. maybe small buff like +1 condi remove and 20s CD.
So far, nothing actualy important, but the thief withdrawl is a thing. Theres many backstab builds that even take it, as it may give more ( you ususaly dont live long enough to use Hide in Shadows twice, but 15s is no problem) + its a valuable reposition tool (mini sword#2, which we all know ….)
Id suggest to give heal at end of animation, altough only known counter would be to hit static field which is thieves own fault
Healing signet just needs another 3x of those 8% nerfs and then a usable active, which puts the signet on CD if interupted, like legacy lord NPC.

idk. i dont have ssd, play on mac and if i esc and swap right when i go down, i just have to get through 2x loading screens vs 1x 15s respawn timer. i lose about 10s
Honestly. VP sucks. It does not reduce any damage you take. It simply slows the NATURAL degen. If you are 900 units away taking no damage/aggro and pumping out Lifeblasts in a powerbuild than its nice. But I do not see how it is necessary or good.. at all. Healing IMO should not be bound to a trait it should be default. It importantly allows ALL necro builds to have SOME sustain.
it is VERY very good. every power uses it. imagine, even if you just live with 10% more LF, and get 1-2x 3k lifeblasts off, thats 6k damage done while in a invul state.
It has become somewhat of necessary trait , I just would directly replace it with another healing trait. Just free up a piercing lifeblast to not hit AI clutter or spectrals CD.
I dont see a problem with it, id just rather fix/combine one of our other 3-4x failed healing mechanincs, instead of adding a new one.
I found it useful only in SOAC tenderlys bunker build.
Now some x6xx6 condi build could use it, but its not soo good even 1v1. Teamfight theyll just wait 3s to burst u (with DS on CD now ) or thief strips stabilty 100% , mesmer 99% cz u dont have much boons anyway.
Power build cant afford the dmg loss against anything not thief, and the survival coupled with immobilizes isnt that big.
A big hindrance i see is you cant even get a full stomp off without boon duration, and ofc no natural stomping in DS.

Maybe 20% , considering direct damage can get up to 10% and DoTs have to be stronger over time.

It definetly is a abuse, Anet allowed back switching characters in tourneys for unfavorable matchups (ex. 5 thieves) , but not for reseting 180s elites. Lich and maybe timewarp are the only ones worth doing though, as theyre only ones who can instagib a teamfight.
Baltazar engie makes engie kill u with 1x hit of anything + heal every 15s…… Like even on necro with only 3s burn and 25s heal the runes are no joke
But aside blatzar being totaly OP , krait just gives u torment on elite. Warior can use krait cz they lack poison so they get 2 extra condis on low CD elite. Engie elite is usualy the 1v1 party faul of supply crate
Keep vigor. Make energy sigil give X seconds of vigor on swap instead of instant endurance refill.
Actualy, this seems briliant. Youd get the same milage on classes without vigor, while the ones who already have 50-100% uptime wouldnt get such a huge boost, like there each endurance points basicalyncounts double.
