Took some thought and as lots of you suggested, the rank should bring more poeple into pvp. If it does, the change is great. Rank dragon will be changed from a long-term hardcore achievement to a “bait for core and other normal to do pvp”, while the real hardcore goal will be a good placement on leaderboards (with seasons rewards and a bigger playerbase). ill add a “maybe” , just gotta understand that is purpously devalueing the “rank thing” in order to get a bigger playerbase.

The #2 chanel will get canceled by … side walk or port behind.
Only if you’re immobilized or force your character to face a certain direction. In any other case you will spin whichever way your opponent goes or even teleports during the channel.
i know but its realy hard and clunky. Im mostly perma holding right mouse cz nobody stays still, or no one uses melee attack asist so its not uncommon to walk through somebody and needing to turn a 180.

Just because one is not condimancer does not mean he cant transfer the condition backs… ive killed a lot of condimancer just by mass transfering all my condition back to it with my staff. Add to this i got one knockdown and one more immobilize then he do (most condimancer take plague over flesh golem) i can prety much kill a Condimancer in a necro 1 v 1 fight, iIts all about who CC the other the most and who has the last word on the condition transfers. Even if you do your epidemic what do you think will happen if i condi transfer using my staff… youl end up with every condition you placed on my minion as well as mine
The staff#4 skill no longer transfers conditions from alies to enemys. Even if they stand in circle. It is only 3 conditions removed from you and placed on a target, 3x condi per target hit. It does transfer blind
It used to be a full self cleanse + ally cleanse in circle + transfer to 1 random target hit. Then they had some coding problems during dhuumfire meta, where any necro nerf was welcome, and now were here. So you wont save your alies with this thing , burning condispam still wins -.-
1) start watching streams to learn the best map movement patterns. ask questions as to why an who they sent to a particualr point
2) play solo in teamQ to get practice on theese “better” strategies. If you get lucky youl be grouped with a 4man team who will communicate and play properly
3) Improve your actual gameplay (1v1 against each class, your role in a teamfight..)
So whole left side of the mists and hotjoin will be filled with legendary particles…..
Dont get me wrong, the described wardrobe seems a better system than current transmutations, but thats only pve. Even if you finaly allow pvp poeple to earn legys and other goos looks, what will be the point of going for them, if every low casual played has them already ?

So, with the above in mind, what are some ‘low-hanging fruit’ type of suggestions for changing the way decap engineer works, without affecting existing builds unrelated to decap? That is to say, suggestions that would not require significant amounts of development time to implement.
We’ve already seen a few threads on PW, so I’ll focus on decap for now. ^^

- removal of Immunity Its the only thing keeping it alive for the too long periods time, no 1v1 and too long 1v2 survival, complete no fun counter to even the almighty condimeta, which forces everyone to adjust builds, but not this one. ok enough about AR, your reading same stuff 100x over. Just keep in mind that you can fix 1 trait and dont have to redesign anything else
Other “bandage” fixes
- knockDOWN instead of push on flame, maybe rifle too
- smaller distance knockback
- cast time to rifle & flamethrower = 1s like guardian hammer#4 banish , no more instant smallcat
- 20s CD to rifle and/or flame , engie got lots of low CDs

Its makes better gameplay than the passive tanksmor 1-shot dice rolls , as it requires to land both the condition as direct damage on some1 to be even close to effective.
It could be even argued that anytime you spend less than 5second in DS, youd get more healing from the Blood (actual healing tree) magic trait- Deaathly Invigoration- for 20pts.
Oh and its aoe.
When i play solo im actualy focused on my gameplay as that is only thing i have control off. So i try hard, do good, but then i start losing. Why? Cz i hit the wall of where my mediocre skillz can bring me against the cheezy meta specs. Why i rage even more? cz theese specs are actualy easier to play, and very annoying to play against
When i play with guild on chat, its always fun. when we win we have tons of fun, and even when we lose we just make fun of cheezy enemy together, +we give each other a shoulder tap.

Sorry, can’t rejoice over this. It will be a Grandmaster Trait in the Death Magic line. So, to obtain the sustain that is supposed to be a hallmark of the class (LOL)
The net effect will be to do nothing but extend by a couple seconds/one or two additional hits our already delayed yet inevitable death at the hands of focus fire and CC spam. The min/maxing armchair theory crafting aside, the trait will still fail to deliver the sustain and attrition this class needs. It’s another missed opportunity and failure à la Signet of Vampirism.
Contrast this with thieves’ new Invigorating Precission whereby 5% of their critical attack damage will be returned as healing. One of the hardest hitting, fastest hitting professions with one of the best de facto attrition mechanics (stealth) now gets 5% of their DPS returned to them as health. You thought there was QQ-ing before about thieves, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. GG ArenaNet!
That trait would have been more appropriate for the Blood Magic line’s Vampiric Precision, for example. Instead, we get healing equivalent to a regen buff while in Death Shroud (a resource-dependent profession mechanic versus the thieves’ new always-on heal-on-crit) IF we spend 30 points in Death Magic.
To rub a little more salt into the wound, thieves’ Invigorating Precision is in their Critical Strikes line; the line that improves their critical hit chance so they can…you know…gain health on crit. Contrast this with Unholy Sanctuary; a trait that benefits from healing power in the toughness and boon duration line!
The devs are totally clueless when it comes to the necromancer’s attrition and sustain. You could throw darts at a board to which is pinned all of the necro’s traits and come up with better balance and synergy than these guys.

This is my view from a PvP perspective also. The trait is useless. Regeneration is kind of bad on its own. Healing for 70 /second isn’t going to do much against 7k pistol whips or 5k arching arrows, or just condition spam.
It is totally worthless as a trait. Seen as they are destroying condi necro at the next patch then we should get some proper sustain finally. It is stupid we get no dodges, no blocks, no invulns, no stealth, no nothing. We are the ultimate glass cannon even when we try to spec tanky. We either kill or get killed. Which isn’t how necromancer should play out given its lack of mobility. We should have incredible sustain.
The condi necro in pvp without dhuumfire will be the worst class in game. They have already added/buffed many traits (immunities) and skills (immunities and condi cleanse) on MANY classes which are condition hate. As a profession we are pigeon-holed into the condition role and so this is a massive nerf to us. In addition they have attacked our bleeds, our terror damage, our weakness uptime and many other things. And now they are essentially removing burning from condition specs. So where does this leave us? Not in a good place unfortunately. And our hopes lie in two areas:
1, A serious buff to sustain – relolving around the death magic line – we already see a GM trait which doesn’t help at all
2, A good curses GM trait – this is vital to the future of condi necroThis GM trait should be a 5 point minor trait in the DM line. That is how weak it is.
The devs dont live in reality but in PvEland.
We need a 15pt minor like:
-spectral armor from SR: more life force in a life force tree. great
-fury from Curses: crit chance in a precision tree. great
Vamiric from blood is great design, only it is horribly weak and useless. The spite one didnt make into this post as it not worth mentioning.
It seems its stil only useful for minion builds to get more % LF when they die, no added defense in actual pvp scenarios. And the other one is a stale probably small increase in toughness, so you will only be hit 5,4k instead of 6k by a pistol whip. No defense again, maybe next 6 months or better make it a year to three.
They didnt nerf power necro, they nerfed ALL pve drainbeads running the full zerker meta, which is a step in right direction.
They failed at the 1 trait for power necro though, only the condi ones seem interesting and theyre even further pushing condi necro into spite tree
I think theyve permently given up and made spite the main condition tree, and condtion necro the only real necro option. Hope they start working on reworking the spite minors as theyre equaly bad as the ones from death magic
After working my tail off since pre-launch to be able to make two legendaries myself I’m pretty disgusted at them just giving away a legendary weapon.

Lich Form stomp has never worked, and DS stomp is pointless. Flashing DS for stability or Plague Form stomping is all that has existed/makes sense.
i wouldnt say it is pointless. Apart from the stability thing the idea behind ds stomping is also to use ds to absorb incoming damage while you stomp. For example you beat a player with low health lets say a ranger. A down state war against a ranger you will most likely lose but you also want to finish him fast as possible. So a short retreat for healing is out of question but lets say you have half of you lifebar now ds stomping allows you to stomp the ranger without the danger of getting downed yourself. So here you have an instance where it may be useful.
Exactly. DS stomp/rezz is used even without stabilty just for tanking. +You can DS#3 a rezzer/stomper away and not break your own chanel.
Lich stomp has always been just a troll thing as it is completely useless. You risk 80% of losing your 180s elite for nothing, when somebody is already downed. It would be super nice&fun of them to make lich instant, even a random interupt will put on full CD -.-

Please be careful on the necro vs mesmer scenarios, you created yourself a month to recieve feedback and test it.
I suspect the DS heal to be in blood which is good by design. A question i would ask is, are there possibilities to allowing heals from allies by deafault while still preventing your own? Or a minimun must to mark DS hp with grey on party window. It causes a lot of stress and wasted heals in my team when my DS is runing out.
Seems like even devs noticed the 1.25s cast on consume heal :P Im realy worried about that one, youre pushing the “skillful interupt” thing on them. Im happy dhumm will be gone as youll never get a single life blast off on condi builds, so that leaves… power necro? or the above bunker with 1x 3s stabilty easily ripped? Like 3/5 trees will improve their CCing.
Dhuumfire was a hotfix , took 3 weeks and was the best life-saving move for the game. and im a necro

Is there nobody in the whole company with 5min time to spare on a pvp problem, thats around for 8 months, and why wasnt it done 2 months ago when it was acknowledged that it would be done anyway?

I know they tryed some bugfixes with ds stomping (kinda easier now even) but i just cant get a lich stomp through. went into training grounds and used mouse to mark a point on the bar and its always interupt of stomp or normal stomp with lich cd bug.

First Id comment on your previous video, the critics on blu shoutcasting. It seemed very bad, almost childish, with it looking mainly like you mostly enjoy sarcasm and making fun out of others. I dissagreed on everything in it. First for the fact, that like it or not, we dont have (m)any other shoutcasters. So untill we see you or some1 better … Second, gw2 is a flustercuck, you can press 10 buttons in a sec but no1 can speak out 10 skills in a sec.
Third, what you wanted was from a players perspective, not from observers. Its best if we compare it to a real sport, football from here. You wanted a analysis players on the same competitive level would recieve, be it from coach or another top player. Like “yo man, lets just use the left-right pass to me- back to u 3x and score with left. nothing ronaldo can do about it cz he plays with right”. What the crowd needs from a comentator is much less in depth, just simple facts, but with built up hype. " Player A pass B , A, theres the chance, SHOOTS!! and misses.." I watch sports/games that I find interesting, without playing them myself. You as a “also competitive” player are watching the games to improve your own gameplay. So I think that because if this different perspective and interests you will be unsatisfied by any shoutcaster who isnt a top player himself. Now if we had a slow-motion replay such step-by-step guide to decision making would be perfect though

Ok, now that this is behind, I can honestly only praise this video. You put yourself very well into the mind of a casual/new player and adresses the weird and counter-intuitive problems of hotjoin (autobalance, wins being pointless). Great video in short, hope everyone on the Arenanet balance/pvp sector sees it.
2v2 Deathmatch realy seems the way to go. Its easy to find only 1 partner, easy to understand, clear to watch, a rezz is actualy a big play, it allows more “fun” builds. The only problems, why they shouldnt release it tomorrow, are some extreme builds. Bunker vs bunker, minion+spirit, permastealth and PU mesmers, 180s elites… Basicaly how to make the “street rules” official.
The no timeline isnt a problem. Its their way of setting the pace which is their fundamental right as the creators of the game.
Where they lack is
admitting mistakes,
reverting them,
solving easy problems quicky,
being transparent on what they are working,
and in general treating pvp as kitten with too slow changes and not acknowledging its issues for months.
The talk about features but no actual pvp balance, which should be monthly.
The only revert i know of is ele heal signet (yet to happen), and only good hotfix was dhuumfire, took less than month, to not wreck PAX.
then 3 months for tooltips
3 motnhs for 15 to 30s per win+ tomes + small warr nerf + burn spirit nerf
3 months of sigil/runes + reward system
So its 3x months / 1x most broken thing getting slightly less strong. The changes should be much faster, especialy for easy-to-play stuff cz it spreads like a plague
As stated before, when its not about combat mechanics, but something just simply broken by math , why does it take forever to tweak a number? Or why try to solve it with a new problem aka power creep?

I destroy the chests cz i dont want to spend 200 glory per salvage kit. Rather buy a mystery coffer, i got 2x frozen dagger and 1x axe = amazing frozen power necro.
And why are dyes still bound? this is a old remnant from when they didnt want pvper getting any gold whatsoever, could realy change that.
Like realy, why even hide ranks till end? hotjoin is a “random Call of Duty free-for-all” and there u see the “ranks” thus nobody feels bad at end:

This is the biggest wrong 1st impression new players get in spvp. Last week i spent +3hours talking to a r7 guy, with 1.500 hours played, most in wvw, why personal score shows nothing of how good a player you are. I was polite, actualy felt the challenge, but couldnt convince him from the stupidity, that hotjoin plants into new player
Hotjoin should be DRASTICALY DECREASED, to be made more like training grounds, till you hit, lets say r20, then focus them into real tourneys.
I know Anet has the “casual philosophy” but this time theyll be attracting a different crowd, the Free-pvp one, where ranked matches are main-point.
It’s a great idea but to maintain the influx of new players there would be a few core components absolutely necessary to protect the new players:
- Brackets, r1-10, r10-20 – Right now this isn’t viable as you wouldn’t want to split the player base but with the influx it would balance out. – Thinking about this further it would be beneficial to have class specific ranks so when your new to a class you won’t be thrown into a pit.
*Cannot join any form of team or solo queue until r20
*Build templates and ability to browse popular builds IN GAME.
*More game modes (coming soon, seriously.)
*Better tutorial
*Dueling in the mists – or at least something for entertainment in the mists to keep it full for the purpose of displaying that pvp isn’t dead.

The game is actualy amazing, just some thing are COUNTER-INTUITIVE.
Build templates and brackets every 10ranks. Why? Cz new player ARE IDIOTS , you need to show them the game is fun at 1st sight , not to get a cheating feeling of hotjoin. If theese 2 things are fixed , with some other limitations, ANYONE WILL BUY the game in 10minutes

No, decap engie is only tip of iceberg, but neverthles its the MOST broken of them all. All but the top 5 EU teams, with TeamSpeak, still have trouble dealing with them. For soloQ level of coordination, this build should literaly be banned from it.

It used to be ground targetable, thats why its still aoe chill around the target it hits (if..).
This was even brought up by the devs themselves before the june patch, and given that that was the biggest necro-buff patch they ever made (and it went horribly wrong just cz of 1 trait nobody wanted and is equaly OP on engies), i doubt theyll ever even consider such a thing now, with theyre slow&never balance philosophy.
The best thing we can realisticaly hope for, is to make it some sort of leap (thief water gun#5 , guard sword/gs ports ) or just a reduced cast time, 3/4 + travel time is sooo long -.-
yup. Youd get a blind when a well is down, or some random might, thats about it. Cant get healed in DS anyway. And the blind could mix with the blind+chill trait
I haven’t lost any duel vs. Conditionmancer in tpvp on my Power necro for a long time. I’ve been fighting necromancers like Ventari and other good ones and those fights are basis for my pov.
Unless it’s a big fault on my side, I won’t lose to conditionmancer 1v1 when prepared, and if so, it comes mostly from excellent play, above my level, of conditionmancer.I run A/D+D/Wh and with WoP, I find my level of cleansing on the level of condimancer.
As I said previously, single blind or WoD won’t save you over time, it can just delay the damage. The most viable counter is keeping up high amount of weakness

Pve no comment, wvw zerg is all power, wvw with party is safer on a conditank, solo the better player wins (unless the usual bs of wvw roaming: stealth regen, PU mesmer, perplexity , healing signet….)

Depends on ammount of life force, if 100% power should win. It deals dmg and has better lf regen, condi only needs lf for fear flash. And vital persistance is great for tanking condies with DS

Sadly. I play power half a year Nd recently just tryed condi. It still wrecks teamsfights with aoe, downed fight control while being able to 1v1 anything beside a warr, pw thief or decap engie. Im not saying power is bad, its very decent and more fun. Condi just looks weaker cz of 40%+ warrior population

IMO the best idea i heard, was: A death magic GM trait which gives stabilty during chanels.
Its the boon & defense tree , we have 3x chanels and the useless trait for them, and it would not be a minion trait. Imagine urself on power necro, the #2 u never use can give u 3s stabilty to break a chain hammer combo and force the no brainer back into longbow.
Granted, its not a fix for DS-stomps not working and still being 0.2s too short, but i find at least trait placement perfect
