Had 3 today:

- 2x on my team , we win ofc, 1 even carryed us with a warr camping home whole game, losing to spirit ranger in less than my respawn time, lost 2 boses. Luckily they also had an ele , who rallyd us to a 3 cap

- 1 on each team
Yes they did just run past each other from far to close. We lost due to buffs, but at least the fire vs fire strategy is curently on top with its 50% succes rate

Today summary:

-Had the joy of one being in our party. Won 4-0 with staff eles vs. double warior matches

@Sizer:

Im probaly more than 3 steps behind your levels of play , but if the only counter to these decappers is to:
-become top competitive
-perfect VoIP synced team , even with the recent addition to maps showing enemys , which was obviously aimed at pug play
-run 2x warr setup

then, i think i have the right to complain.

And ill even play on the “im a casual , this is not fun” card, if it gets me better treatment from Arenanet. Im aware of the nerfs and i hope more will come. To all professions… Gotta start somewhere

The energy sigil will cancel out the fire proc or vise-versa. That is until next patch somewhere in 2 months.

Other than that id swap the piercing life blast for faster DS recharge. The barbarian dagger build works better in 1v1-2 batles , and id try to make loss of dps with fury + weaknes dancing a bit. Utilitys should remain the spectral walk , wurm and plague mostly.
Need to try it out yet.

You could also create a decap guard with Hammer| x\schield and decap points. Also hard to counter and able to decap every point in no time. Same issue

2x 15s knocbaks with ZERO animations/ instant
3s block on 16s CD
Condition immunity

The guard hammer has 1s animation, it was useful before the launch-stunbreak update. Its nowhere near as efective:
-decaps slower, if at all
-it can be killed 1v1 , but 2v1 it dies “fast enough”
-its a bit slow to walk back to far

OK, so up till now we have:

1) Counter fire with fire: pray your team has same decaper , and whoever decides to fight on their point, loses. So 2 players just run circles whole time

2) Warior with its balanced 25s stability can hold point capped long enough for help to arrive. So pray u got min 2 wariors on team.

3) I main power necro, full zerker 2x wells. Simply for whipping whole teams. This allows us to come 3v1 home, and fast. Problem?
-The wins are more due worse team on engie side
-They come storming mid back together and kill 2v4 some1 before we come back

4) Ive had somewhat succes running leetos d/d power build. I basicaly do the same as him:
-decap far with spectral pull (30s CD , engie got 2x 15s to compare)
-unlike decaper , im useful in teamfights.
-With speed runes , its a fast encro who can help win secondary objectives. Still 50/50 strategie against losing home all time

This guys is one of the best players, there are build variations ofc.

Again the point is not in him killing , the point is him holding your home against even a beast 1v1 spec like MM necro , and even sending 2 ppl to kill him, will take too much time, meaning you have a 4v3 on mid or 2v2 +2v1 somewhere else.

Just look on the scoreboard and map. The game-mode is “conquest” , dont tunnel vision on killing.

I found zerker works, but you need the 10 in blood for some extra hp, i tryed keeping 10 in curses for weakness and to be able to switch to regular wells burster, but if u wanna go d/d , take the extra hp. And speed runes

For intro…I play power necro since i got bored of condi in summer.

1) Why is CM not “cheezing” with 3 power necros then?

2) It is in same power range as moa or plague form. only unlike plague, its got some risk and its less annoying to deal with. Ask yourself honestly..

3) I kill 75% poeple with wells combo. 20% i kill when the chill trait hits. The rest is the AA.

4) the auto is a but smaller than DS auto, biggest deference is on bunkers, since u get more power to break through.
Same problem,
-blind, dodge, block, delfect , blind ,dodge… shatter remove stability – Ping pong.
- Range – move left/right to avoid with dancing
- melee – thief can blind but ull probably die, try to dps me and take me down with u

5) Its dmg already got nerfed / capped once

6) Id take a 10-20% nerf on #1 , for reduced CDs and CAST TIMES on #3 and #5
But then ppl will only moore combo it with wells , like grouch sad, 1v1 u should run , in teamfight focus it.

Final its a snowball skill , focus necro and it wont get time to shine.

Edit: im actuay happy to see complains. It shows that main-best-class-at condi , is massively swithing to power just to deal with wariors. Theres a lot of biger imbalances , start from the top.

Constructive part for Anet
-Too fast decap (10-15s max)
-Cant be killed by 1 !!!! NO RISK
-CANT be killed by 2 fast !! NO COUNTER
-Semi-counter = not fight him … wtf???
- 1 man can kill fun/effort for 9 ppl. AFKers deal less harm, since 4v5 are over fast
-Balance aside , it is very “not fun” getting CCed alltime , maybe this one will help , since “fun” is central design it this game

-I will try to restrain myself , but i may snap at some future point
-ill keep bumping it with specs i played against eniges , and how succesfull ive been

Minions (ranger pets also) are the same, whatever stats u wear (unlike mesm phantasms).
So you take the ones, which make u hard/impossible to kill , and minions will do the same. Also if minions die and you get to live long enough to resummon them, nothing is lost

Dark pact is not a projectile. Which means, you can’t hide behind an AI to block it. A necromancer can be running away with the back facing the enemy as he uses it.

Yes. I always try run as far as possible when wielding my melee dagger.

I do run as far as possible when wielding my melee dagger. My Minions will attack them from behind. It also cause enemies to spam their best abilities thinking they are going to land.

If you don’t like running, then you can uses it as the enemy dodges behind you and then turn around to get your back.

Your sarcasm is terrible. Just like your skills if you don’t even know DP use.

There were comparions showing imobilizes and pindown was way ahead. Especialy for same CD , a no mana game and a crucial ability with no cast or tell.

The nerf is justified, there are 100 other big skills who also needs animation nerfs , and maybe 10 who need buffs. Its a good start , stop whinning.

The necro comparison is not point of thread, but ill take the bait:
-its a niche scenario
-1v1 necro is already strong , u cant run from group focus with dagger#3
-no bodyblocking helps, but clutter needs to be solved by reducing it, not making mechanics ignore it
-game doesnt a necro weapon which works best with AI builds.

Some cavalier from pve , knights would be OP , especialy gotta watch out for classes with a precision/ferocity traitline – thief , mesmer , ele and maybe even a power ranger.

-toughness (main)
-ferocity , Or ferocity+healing

Celestial – needs a buff , ill put my trust into Anet , since this is the perfect opportunity for it.
I play a full celestial necro in wvw. Keep in mind , for celestial to shine, you need to hit BOTH of your damage skills , power and condi. Most others pick 1 main for damage and other weaponset for defense,escape , utility.

New stat idea
-ferocity (main ) maybe swap with precision to not get +45% crit
-precision
-power (low)
- vitality (low) every spec need at least a small defense , maybe healing

Also new rampagers, but focus on power
-power (main)
-precision
-condi dmg (low)
-vitality (low) or other def stat..

General rule of
-gear offensive
- trait defensive
Will remain. Most top or power lines are VERY LACKING (Ele, necro minors,..) so power main stat is best wasted on amulet than traits.

What the hell are pure bunkers going to get from 2 sigil cool downs? Dps builds will get a huge dps boost

A free dodge , if your currently using anything other than Energy sigil.
Or probably Energy + Leeching , for 1k hp on swap.

Every 1k hp is a lot on guardian, though they will nerf all sigils to compensate. Hope they get it right

1) When the only “counter” is to run same thing , NOT FIGHT , and just exchange side points with each other, then..

2) Efficiency. It takes 4v4= 8 poeple , 1-2-3+ minutes of fighting , CCing, rezzing , clutch plays to win 1x midfight = about 100 points lead for your team.

It takes 1 decap engie 10s to take a poo on that effort

3) No risk. A thief, the designed sneaker, doesnt want a 1v1 fight mostly. Hes risking dying or wasting time running for nothing.

Decap engie? Yes , please follow me and waste both time and manpower

Final verdict: Brings too much to the (points) table. Needs a nerf. How? From my main necro PoV, its got more CC than a warior and 0 animation. Too many instacasts give overall too much output and the big CC should have an obvious tell (looking at you, rifle#4… a 5-10s longer CD would also be nice)

I like them, there shouldnt be a “top buisness level of seriousness in balancing” a game.

What I dont like, and what is probably causing all the humorbashing, is using jokes to conceal mistakes.

“Petting zoo” is a 6month old joke , and it will get a shawe only now (actualy 1-2months from now).
“Exotics were a mistake, far to easy, thats why Ascended. But were stopping here.” by Colling Johanson at pax interview with MattVisual.

At the end of the day, were watching balance previews – to solve balance problems. So statements like the 2nd example, will please, restore faith and make the community happier than the best joke without a solution.
I loved one of them (carl?) going superman on elementalist, heck, I even like helseth , just because theyre backed up with facts and a proposed step forward.

necro has a 300 hps minion, and its far from weak in 1v1. Maybe they just dont see the passive OPness:
-works always
- 1s more DPS uptime
- no pressure , CD wasted to ensure heal
- no counterplay (3condi / 10second with only ire )
- harder to hit certain procs/ thresholds
- TOO STRONG FOR THE 1000th time -.-

My thoughs:

  • Runes and sigil rework
    Perplexity for pve, Lyssa for pvp. Both need a nerf. Perplexity could use a much higher ICD or better lose 1x of the effects completely. Lyssa in pvp could do without stability, a 90s ICD, OR revert currupt boon (full strip or 5th spot stability ). A fix to necro burn condispam to compensate..

Sigil of Energy . The sigil is ok, VIGOR has always been the problem, turning that +1 bonus dodge into 2-3.

  • Critical damage changes
    SOUNDS GREAT. A step against PvE zerker meta is always welcome.
    spvp max +62 c.dmg.
    pve max +120 c.dmg. i think. Maybe +90/100 max ?
    Maybe make c.dmg. only as the small " 4th stat " ?
  • New stat combinations for PvP (amulets)
    1) INCREASE CELESTIAL AMU , maybe jewel too
    2) A POW/prec/tough would be too strong. 3rd stat needs to be split in 2x 4th stat, like valkyre. Maybe power not being main? It must not have same dmg and same sustain than condi amulets
    3) More overal customization
  • High-level overview of planned balance changes
    Waiting for burning condition nerf for 3/4 years Every OP condition build required it. And the “skill” procs…. Suggestion:
    Give it bad scaling, so its more bonus damage to power/con.dur. builds. And make the intended sustain from it 1-2s short, while the big skills should hit 5-10s burns. Give it counterplay basicaly

We wanted RANDOM maps for a long time, to have see whos “all-round / balanced” best, at any given scenario. This map and trollhamer require a complete overhaul for many builds/roles and whole match relying on the “secondary objective”. Again, secondary, not main.

Furtheremore, the game is designed and balanced around conquest 1st. Think of how many pull are not working for orb running, many aoes are static, not to mention some movement skills having unfair advantage over other. (best proposed offer was to lock weapon/utility and give special “orb skillset”)

Lastly, the map layout. It is too much mobility dependant, proffesions with vertical teleport have huuuge gains, while proffesions with less dissengages lose cz points/orb are so close.
Im being unbiased here, i play both necro and thief. The map is simply unfair/unbalanced. There is too much stuff to take advantage off , the competitive guys will exploit them to the fullest.

Id say a deathshroud dancer. Its definetly most keys pressed per minute and the reward is medium. So beating some1 will be the action of your CD managment, none AI or lucky/mistake burst KO.
Remember, its mediocre, ull get better rewards (and “wows” from ppl) if you just get decent at playing a zerker powermancer

I think bosses should be harder.
Or to be accurate- smarter like real pvp player scenarios.

1) mobs should MOVE. faster and all the time. This would require an immobilze coordination for 100cheezslices.

2) constant melee dmg and interrupts. U know. Like any real pvp scenario

I think we need to get rid of melee zerkers, and try to reach a mix of zerker ranged/ melee more tanky / cc support

Warior and Necro – highest hp pool
400+ hps – 300 hps minion

Lets put aside:
-more armor
-minion has counter (kill , random dodge)
-DS – doesnt heal so doesnt matter here

The 300hps feels balanced on necro. Its strong 1v1, even on zerker MM, but it gets bursted in teamfights. How the heck is the heal signet still running wild?

Is it sooo hard to admit a mistake? Or better powercreep 7 clases ?
Is it too hard to go a “steady and slow” aprooach ?
Like from 200 to 400 – 300 – 350 – okay 325 is sweet balanced spot ???

Guys, please chill. Leetos one of the better necros around and its a fact that different stuff works in different “tiers” of tpvp. So dont bash, rather ask how and why.

And the builds are basicaly all the same, rewolving around +50crit in DS :P

I gotta say the survival is great for 0 defense. But even if my life depended on it, i cant seem to get spectral pull to work Do u have any set pull spots ? for some1 who takes 1-2k burn over 2k+ dmg this skill is very situational

I played Charr thief before, thought I was bad.

Asuras are a shame of design, such inequality it feels like cheating. Only good thing holding them back is that theyre freaking ugly and their visuals are too small to show off.

Some added Facts :
-Movement sills (heartseeker) on uneven terrain are clunkier with charrs. When u land, your charr might turn as much as 180degrees
-Your big character can block vision of a asura infront/melee of you.
-You are easier spotted by enemy team ( sneak for decap, going in for a burst, even aproaching teamfights)
-Your orientation/run direction is harder to estimate

IF ANET DOESNT HAVE THE TIME TO RESIZE ASURAS, THEY SHOULD BAN THEM FROM ORGANIZED TOURNAMENTS. IT WILL ADD A PSYCHOLOGICAL STIGMA TO ASURAS, AND POEPLE WILL AVOID ABUSING THEM.

1v1 aganst melee classes (thief still 1/3 of wvw). Just run near it and u have 5s of a timeout.

1v2 drop on downed guy to prevent rezz.

A semi-disengage. All necro aoes can be placed behind while running. Add a flash doom and you just created 1200 range between you and enemy.

what role do you fill with it?

in team fights, you cant go melee. your pressure is single target. with amu u get lower dmg and 5k/3k ds hp at 1800armor. no burst beside life blast, and even that will hit a AI without pierce.

I assume it is therefore stronger in 1v1s. U get good lf regen, trying to outlast enemy with DS. but with lower power and c.dmg. ull only kill other low armors.

Im criticizin from a pug perspective only if your team has a setup that fits your role, please tell more. Id personaly love to see the spectral grasp in action

Please remember that:

a) PvE makes AND has bigger “savings” on gold/luck.

b) Spvp is about fairnes. Asuras aside its equal level,armos, stats… for everyone…. A new way for r29 to get icy dragon sword isnt.

c) Salvaging is not only huuuuuge waste of time & clicks, its also pretty expensive. with glory gifts, your basicaly wasting good gold for another 250x stack of powder.

d) Luck scaling has diminishing returns. Even if u make a legendary drop from teamQ, it will probably mean i have just 0.002% instead of 0.001% of getting it. Which can also be countered by simply playing more, if balance gets fun

2) Skyhammer is map, where skill doesnt matter. It is all a random clusterfffk , just like flipping a coin.

given that 50/50 rule, the result is:

Those are complete bull numbers and you know it. If you attack the cannon and take it for yourself, all of a sudden the cannon isn’t an issue anymore! if the cannon fires more than once on you in a short period of time, you’re team is doing it very wrong. Skill is extremely important on this map. You have to line up your CCs well. You have to position youself in a good way to make sure that any CCs they might have will not knock you off. You have to make sure you’re ready to stun break out of a CC if you get pushed. There’s a TON of skill to this map.

Youve just exposed in which group you belong , thus losing the right to be taken seriously.

-There is no viable non-hammer strategy
-hammer to big, easy to land, fire rate
- 1-hit K.O. too easy to land , in comparison to all the weapon, utility, heal, hp, point control skills, that u must manage in an avarage “fair” fight

Simple example

1) Bad players normaly win 20% , good players win 80%.

2) Skyhammer is map, where skill doesnt matter. It is all a random clusterfffk , just like flipping a coin.

given that 50/50 rule, the result is:

3) On skyhamer, bad player win 50% , good player win 50%.

BEST MAP, SUCH FAIR !

If you play 2-3 games in a row with same poeple, wait 10 mins before queing again. It gets u a new group and u get a break to recover from the trauma.

If your playing late (and solo in team), you may also lose a lot, since your pretty high ranked and you wont wont be able to carry against a real team.

Which do u prefer and what build/style ur using them with?

If soldier, i can go melee, so daggers and room for chill.
If zerker, id take the axe, often with focus for the burst of LF, vuln. and dmg.

Edit: PvP only ty so far liking chill more, since the burst kills/keeps them under 50%, and the added dmg,LF, CD red dont come to fruit when im chain CCed.

the best thing is when at start u see enemys debating, then finaly switching to 3rd warior, only to get crushed

yea chill of death is now just too good to give up. axe requires losing the trait and going zerker while praying at 600 range. So either dagger melee with soldier , axe zerker if ur skilled to land burst and not get hit, and scepter zerker for 900 range. the only thing bugging me is the life force gain

Basicaly soldier+dagger gives dmg and can stand on point, and u dont need the axe trait. Over 50% ur job is to stack on LF, and put range aoe pressure on them (weakness,poison, curruupt well) . After 50% u can burst down with life blasts , or go in with dagger immbilize and save DS+power well for downed body cleave.

The biggest advantage to soldier is u can win 1v1s against zerkers. Another problem is they kill too fast They went overkill and made fast wipes , meaning theyll respawn and push back faster and togerther. While if you kill them slower 1by1 , u get a bigger,longer snowball effect.

U should take either axe or dagger + staff. It gives LF in teams, poison on downed guy and fear for interupts

I also play power, its way more fun and i get better results with it. Does xerrex play with axe training or spinal shivers proc?

I love shivers, It can 50-0 shot ele/engie while wearing soldier. Then again i use d/d + staff. And did u find any use in scpeter?

Since guilds i think 500man limit, could you increase the amount a bit? yes im not top100 , but guilds are free, im willing to learn, the more the faster u get a group and you could always say "lf top xx " in guild chat

Nope. Only a win/loss counts. And who/ with whom you won.

Personal score is useless or even harmfull, beacause it may mislead new players.
Ex. dont let 2x ppl cap a point, 1 is enough. The 15points of whatever are not worth a loss, dont pay any attention to it
