Tipp: building LF at Kylo

Hello. I dont know if this was pointed out before.

In Kylo, some buildings can be hit to generate life force, giving us a great way to generate those 10% we miss at the begining or after a complete wipe.
It works best with:
dagger #1 , if your very close also with staff #1 and 1x bounce of focus #4.

The buildings are the ones, that show hit damage numbers, when hit by treb. It is also
the reason for our random “put into battle-slower run” from locust swarm. So avoid those same buildings if must move fast when under effect of warhorn#5.

The complete outer walls of clock tower (can attack from outside AND inside), the whole roof of clock tower, both houses which u can climb to tower on, the nearby solo house and the comple outer fence/wall at mainsion (since theres a huge mansion house behind it. unfortunately u cant stand on the point and be in range )

AT START OF MATCH, IF U RUN STRAIGHT TO MID, JUST ATACKING THE OUTER WALL ALLONG THE SPIRAL CAN MAKE UP TO 33% LIFE FORCE

If anyone knows other spots, on other maps he can share them.

I also think shamans works good if u use the poison cloud trait. But that one is a build weak to conditions and atm in tpvp its “condition month” especialy with engies

U must use consume or blood well as ur heal, the leeching from minion heal wont benefit from healing power.
Ive tryed it a few times, its so-so. The blood well is great with high healing, it keeps u and minons alive. The downside is u lose the condition cleanse and its too long without the CD reduction. I therefore prefer consume, it saves me a trait and a weapon or utlity for condition cleanse. Staff #2 and the ds#4 hael trait should be more than enough if u play build where u MUST keep ur minions alive.

1a) Bring back targeted teleport (but with a 1/2 cast time to prevent a unfair 15sec stunbreak cough mesmer staff #2 cough )

1b) a trait for targeting, like with our wells.
The only problem though is to prevent it to become a must-have. Soul Reaping trait line has many useful ones already, but the +15% movement is so bad it could be switched or added this effect since its a moving trait. Also this encourages multiple choices, because you cant have it all

2a) remove projectile, making it a teleport, like guardian sword #2.

2b) same as above, only it teleports the target to u. More necromancer-ish.

Are u serious here?? The trait eats eles while being afk.
that is with 5x minion slots. Even with 3-4 minon slots it works. Dont expect to have MM synergy with only 1 minon.

The poison trait is also strong, just depends if u play power or conditions. The thing we could debate around is that we have 3/10 master traits devoted to minions…though they all work good so actualy no problem

A very nice idea. Altough i would much rather see more pvp/wvw balance/bug issues solved.

But i would like to manualy choose which of my ICS i want to watch. Something like
a checkbox when choosing a trait.
Dont bother with sigilis, they are too short.

Nice videos, quite some work to look over everything i just now finished vid 3 and i absolutely must tell u that u are too harsh on our heal consume conditions.

For ur stats, i calculated that a consume heal 9400hp /25s with 3 conditions and minion heals 12600hp if 8×3=24s +1sec cast , it heals u 8 times every 3 sec, than at last second u use for the big heal. Ideal conditions for the minion, consume could be even better but ok.

The difference if 3000 hp. But we DID NOT consider yet the dmg consume PREVENTS by removing those nasty dots AND criples/immobilizes rekittening in example eviscare hits or getting from a zerg frontline. It realy bugs me cz u mostly talked about WvW useful skills and how REALIABLE they are. With consume my hp goes up-down-up-down-up…. with minion its stays upupupup-minion dies-down-dead. So it only mentaly makes u think u last longer.

I think all our heals are good, wel needs the CD trait and some extra healing power, minions is good but u can NEVER go wrong with consume conditions.

Tell ur team to play like a 1-4-0 setup.The big fight in the middle will get the minions killed from aoe, and if the necro just camps home point, u have a constant 4v5.

MM are tanky, u wont kill them / not worth time especialy with a healing shout build.
What hurts them( us ) the most are
-conditions (shaman,cleric have high toughness, but low hp +poisin for weaker heals)
-CC, necros have no stability, get an engie friend and play ping pong

staff #1 attacks every 3/4s with 20% combo chance. 5 × 3/4s = 15/4 ~ 16/4 = 4s. With autoatack u clean a condition every 4s, meaning u get to clean 1-2 conditions per well on and every ally using similar projectiles.

Well of blood is greatly meant for team fights. That aside, i think for it to be effective, u need the CD reduction trait. Its nice cz that trait line also gives healing power

I doubt its related to the mouse software Smoothmouse since:
-it was hapening sometimes before i used it
-it hapened in another emulated game
-many other poeple have also had this problem, which i doubt all have been messing with their mouse drivers

In past months it happened rarely, but after restart of game/ computer it was gone.
Now its permanent the mac is good, and since other have it its probably os related

I have Lion 10.7.5 ( maybe update from 10.7.4 changed something, as most of my mouse quirking was on that)

21-inch Imac 2011 (Mid)
2.5 GHz i5 processor
HD 6750M 512 MB graphics
8 BG RAM (4 normal + 4 extra)

Hello. Lately i got this problem, it was mentioned before, but i dont know if theres a fix.
Some say relog/restart but none of that worked for me.

The probem:
Whenever i hold the left/right mouse button to rotate my camera view, it spins chaoticaly mad around. The “reason” is that when hold the cursor is repositioned at the center of screen. Dont know why that happens, but its 100% sure. When cursor is closer to middle it is much less chaotic. I have had the same problem when playing a other game in a virtual machine. Maybe same non native problem?

My mouse:
I use a razer mamba and a cyborg rat3. I believe i got this problem when i installed Smoothmouse, a sooftware which makes the mouse movement (acceleration curve)
in OSX almost like in Windows. Force quting or turning of the program doesnt fix the problem. I used other “more dangerous” mouse modification sofware before, and it never stayed after a relog. I also tryed a lot combinations with manufacturer drivers / software and other mouse edditing tools, but that was mostly to get my mouse 4/5 recognized (apple u sux).
Both mice have internal memory for dpi settings. the razer mamba i set up the stages in windows and it memorizes them in osx. U could even turn/scale mouse accel. with razers drivers, none if which had a impact on gw2. the rat3 is worse on mac, without drivers the hover of cursor isnt even recognized and custom dpi doesnt work (just premade 800-1600-2400-3200dpi).

Does anyone know a fix for the spinning problem?

p.s. i know i was long on the mice, i just wanted to tell stuff i alreay tryed

I think ur wrong. It does everything youd expect from a pbaoe, like DS#4 or any of the
10 skills eles have. The only difference is that they have ful 360° around in a
range 240-600. This one is just a cone-shapped (probably frontal 90°) in a range of 600.

Example:
-u dont need a target. just press the button and it hits anything in its “range”. U CAN interrupt stealth stomp/revive with it, therefore it is a pbaoe.

We can argue if we call it PBAOE, semi-PBAOE, or frontal cone AOE ( FCPBAOE xD ),
but we probalbly agree on the good uses of the skill

Spectral Attunement

Spectral atunement doesnt deacrease the CD. what it doesn is increase the duration of spectral effects and gives 5% LF when u use a spectral skill.

Spectral armor 6s —> 8s
Spectral walk 8s —> 12s
s. wall 9s --→ 16s
s. grasp 4s —→ 6s (i think its 6)

IMO its only worth taking when ur glassy, but using s. wall for survivability. From 9 to 16s protection + 10% more dmg is great. It is harder against ranged enemys though.

All other skills dont benefit much from the attunement, in 6s the DS bar fills up almost always fully. Take it if like above, u went for curses 15 and got 5pts left, but u can always take the warhorn trait, a 2s PbAoE is VERY good.

I forgot to say:
If ur more glassy, i think staff is better. Ur daggers will deal more than enough dmg but melee is very dangerous. staff gives u a ranged aoe option to protect u and buy some time.

If ur more tanky (soldier pvt) axe is better. Not cz it delas a bit more dmg but:
-pvt gear is great for retalition tanking ( use the heal and DS retal. traits)
-being more tanky, u can be in large teamfights, where vulnerability helps teammates do more dmg
- focus 3 boon removal ( warr+ranger elite, eles freak out when chilled )

My dps on killing a golem in the mists:
-staff auto 25s
-staff auto + mark#2 used twice on CD 15s
-axe auto 15s
-axe auto + #2 13s
-dagger auto 8s

The stafff does almost the same (mediocre ) dmg as axe. But aoe+range and its got all the utility that u need. Axe does all that single target, #2 gets canceled from LoS, only focus #5 can remove boons.

My verdict: Staff is better cz it deals almost same dmg as axe, but keeps me safe. The downside is 10 points for greater marks is a MUST.

Im currently trying to copy the d/d ele, by going 30pts into SR and picking 50% cd reduction (maximize ur proffesion mechaninc).

What DS switching build/traits do u think are good or u use them?

15 in curses for “perma-fury” ofc goes with this, which leaves 25 trait points left.
Retaliation, lose condition on DS , 2x dagger for 25% movement , curses for more crit.
Also note the minor traits 25 in curses and death magic.
Soldier / valkyre / berserker amulet ???

What do u think is viable of above?

No. U just get to use the skills from mainhand dagger and offhand dagger.
MH dagger is power dmg , OH dagger is more condition/defensive based.

Dagger + focus / warhorn is more straight up damage and mobility, though the condition transfer is very useful in pvp and if u get both daggers, traits like 15% dagger CD reduction or 15%+10%=25% movement speed benefit both.

Choose the weapon which fits ur playstyle, then build ur build to around those. (lesson 1 from Nemesis )

The curruptin skills are strong and worth their cast. Problematic are:

- DS #1 ,#2 , Staff #1, axe #2 …..they suffer from LoS cz theyre projectiles

-Signet fo locust/spite : 1st is the long CD for not so good effect. Locust should be faster cz its an emergency button, Spite is for power —→ melee --→ fast paced combat
and even with 25 curse minor trait its only +12% dmg for 5sec

-Focus #4 … its good, i personaly put it here, cz its a skill thats more effective when ur closer for more bounces. therefore as a semi-melee could be 1/2s long like warhon #4

-focus #5 … 3/4 or 1s would fine

Other like dagger#3 / Consume conditions are strong and need the cast time.

its a “well of caltrops”. just more dmg/duration/lower CD/ less visible.

Though like any other condition, it takes time and can be removed/transfered back at them.

From what u told how it actualy works, wouldnt it be better for the skill to have its mechanics traded?
Axe- can activate and rehit without target, gets ({too} easily) canceled
Dagger- cant get canceled but needs target to activate

The thing is axe is shorter channel. What use do i get from it if i activate it after 1s? Where as if i would retarget my life siphon i would still get 70% out of it. Though life siphon is more suited for heal while running away

In spvp i mostly play power necro with dagger/axe.
All power necro issues aside, i am having very big trouble dealing wirht guardians.
Not only troble, i die 99%….maybe i won 1-2 times in last 2 months. They even survive my wells, only lich brings them down.

My problems:
I die to burning, have only 1x focus boon strip, RETALIATION + PROTECTION.
Also they have those small aoes, which hurt me or i move out of my melle range while he just AA from scepter range.

Question:
Not saying any OP/UP stuff, just is it possible to win? or is it our balanced natural enemy?

Spectral Wall now blocks projectiles.

Thief blind and mesmer wall both do this.

I use wall when going zerker dagger and it works wonders in melee (thieves ,warr)
This would force that annoying ranger to come close and die

Can anyone please give me some advice on what a necro should be doing on the new map?

Class mechanincs which are bad for us:
1.) not mobile (were bad roamers + roaming isnt worth it on Spirit watch)
2.) steady but slow killers ( we kill to slow and sooner or later an enemy teammate arrives, cz they are all zerging from home-orb (takes 5-10sec for whole route))

3.) *(this one keeps my hopes up) No reliable hard CC. Fear is kinda counter productive, hard to fear off a bridge. Knocdowns/backs are superior cz they are mostly longer/easier to land/actualy immobilize u for 1-2 sec.
We have A LOT of cripple/chill. too bad eles/guards clean them off.

So what can i do effectively?

Only the tooltip sad heal ~200hp. actualy healed 500hp.
when doing % math, u need to know to what number the % are reffered.

“increase the heal by 80%”

500hp + 80%(of 500hp) = 500 + 0.80*500 = 500 + 400 = 900hp

This post isnt meant personal and i hope that the salesman can take a joke. And it was a mistake by many, cz the skill tooltip had the wrong number. Thats why its good to see how things are in real life not just on paper………….nice morale ending huh? =)

In short:
+ conditionmancer
- powermancer (“can work sometimes and worse than other” is just not enough to be viable)

Longer:
+condition cleanse/ +often transfer
+best healing skill
+team fights (lots of aoe, high hp and range, constant pressure until even bigger group starts running- and ur group after them )
+underwater both condition/power are almost OP (i say almost cz we still have our general weakness —→ interrupts)

-condition/fearmancer means only 1,5 viable builds
-PVE: bleedcaps + takes way longer to kick in
-minions die to aoe fast/instant
-CAST TIMES , LONG CD…………..been sad many times. me personal: why focus #4 when it bounces more if it close. close combat should be fast. and locust. its not worth it for the CD and also long cast considering its a desperate heal. any1 though about the fact that if u leech from 5ppl, u also are getting hit 5x more and 5k is gone in 1 sec??!!!! we lose so much to casting, that our best dps is the autoatack.

-no stability/block/invul/stealth/ any damage avoid besides blind well. 60s CD = thief pistol 6 INI skill ….wait we do have death shroud and it is soooo strong that all other stuff must be subpar.

Its weird that conditionmancer, which rellys the least on DS is the strongest type(((
Not hating, i love DS, but we need overall improvements arround +10% (not conditions or water combat)

Thanks all. i also somehow got addicted to the piercing, i just wanted to see if i was doing something wrong.

Anther thing that puzzles me is like u sad, with taking damage u lose LF very fast.
often i enter with full DS, but before my 1st life blast hits i may be down to 90-80-70% ds.
So will this be a 100% or a 70% strong hit?

Whener i rolled a power necro in zpvp, i chose the piercin+2 vuln trait. But now that i think about it, isnt the 25% slower lf drain stronger?
Lets do the math, without considering like mesmer kage bunshin block.

Normaly i can fire 3x life blast. Each hits 3k. That gives 6% more dmg.
I still need to do 10-20k dmg to bring target down. Thats 600-1200 extra dmg from vulnerability.

Now with the other trait i can fire 1x more life blast. That would be another 3k or 1k+ if no crit. And i was also safe in ds for longer time.

600-1200 dmg vs 1000-3000 dmg + 1s safer ds time
Only piercing ensures hits though.

And what about the might per life blast trait? Is it worth it?
I feel more and more, that only focus #4 is worth it vilnerability

The only possible way i used it was 2 signets on conditiomancer.
Locust for kiting , plague signet for transer/stunbreak and 3rd a currption skill of ur choice.
Undead signet is meant only for the great active in tpvp
And last, any1 wearing a spite signet should be posted on failblog.

Cheers… so ds for main attack, then dagger to re-charge life force umm…
Maybe spectral grasp, dagger 3 wells, ds auto attack then finish with dagger

If u hit the immobilize, its better to run behind them, because the dagger #1 actualy has higher dps than DS #1 even at full LF.
after a wellbomb the enemy will try to run away and that would be better timing to switch to life blast for 900range compared. its another story if ur low on ur hp, then ds is always safer

About the falling damage. DS can also eat the fall in fractals, where harpies push u of platforms. i think it can also take the jade maw laser.
it basically counts as an extra life.

A few aa bleeds + BiP + that combo (terror of course) = 10k dmg alone

1v2 are very possible underwater both for power and conditionmancer. Always avoid aquamans though.

In pvp, i layely prefer spectral amor ower walk because:
-the Protection allows me to stay in the fight, where as the walk i find more useful to run away. I a more positive skill
-warhorn/locust/ d/d 25% move trait give u more than enough movement

But if compare it to eles cantrips, it would realy deserve added stability (90s CD cmon).

The wall is very underrated. +10 dmg and -33% dmg taken is HUUUUGE. The only problem is, it works better on paper than in reality.
Tip: place the wall beside u. There is more strafing in melee , its less obvious and harder to notice u walked through 3x times and have 25 vuln.

But again if i compare it to other proffesions, i miss the projectile block and it would be nice if it was just a rectangular aoe. So i wouldnt matter from which side u go through.

Spectral skill are for power/crit/DS builds. In general, use grasp or wall , armor for stunbreak and 3rd a well for burst/blind. All 3 utility spectrals +dagger can give u too much LF wasted, cz u either always have full ds bar , wont have ds available, or will be using ds1 under 50%.

it gives 1,5k-2k dmg depending on ur cond.dmg. stats AND IF the enemy eats the whole thing. and cz posin only stacks duration this means it takes 15 sec. its not a burst skill,
so its not worth it when ur dead.

a far better choice are runes which give u invunarability at 10-20% which MAY prevent death in first place, or the trait which fears on down combined with terror

it has a cone-shapped field, similar to warhorn #4. this means, that when u strafe, ur camera looks forward but ur body is actualy facing sideways. if the angle is too big, u miss.
Medium range, face directly towards target, stand still if u can afford it. then it works.

Lich form vs roots/small stuff

When in lich, you are sooo big, that u cannot hit the rangers roots under ur feet.
I get it that entangle is meant as a counter, but the roots are also meant to be destroyed.

+even if the target is not under me, but also in melee range it tends to miss. Does it hit asuras at all?

i thought about it and since necros arent meant to me mobile, a leap finisher is probably asking for too much. but the idea for DS#1 to become a projectile sounds fair, since it has slower fire rate.

Scepter – great weapon , it serves its purpose with cond.+kiting+some LF

MH dagger – great in power builds , #2 if improved could:
a) make life siphoning builds a reality (actualy well siphoning would also need to lend a stronger hand )
b) make power users actualy use it: #1 is strong enough so: lower dmg , but add gap closer/leap finisher

Axe: hmm….since #3 is good in aoe, #1 could also deal some aoe damage, while #2 remains for when u want to burst the 1 player down.

Staff (condition) – it works, same as above
Staff (power) – here it gets tricky. sometimes it actualy works, but it has a big flaw.
Staff#4 is TOO good its cond transfer + 60% of mark dmg + our only land combo finisher. Because it so valuable for cleanse, we end up saving/not using it.
So i would:
a) distribute the damage to other marks.
b) move combo finisher blast from #4 to #2. Now to not make 2# overpowered,
make it so the combo only triggers IF the caster stand in the mark, just like the re
regen. Staff power users lose power if they go greater marks, and cond users have
max 1 well with them (+ its longer CD).
Side note: staff#1 only avtivates 1x per field, cz of slow rate and 20%. And spectral wall is bugged to put its combo activating part only under ur feet instead of where u place it. so if u move u lose the ethereal.

Focus: good, but loong cast times. especialy for #4 considering it only bounces more times if ur close. i would decrease the cast time, but make its effect vuln/regen/LF be range dependend like warior fear.
