Exactly like I thought. Patch 1 2 and 3 will, despite being called “big patches”, still be regular LS patches maybe even smaller considering that they don’t add any features.
What a shame :/
They’re adding in a new WvW map; some would consider that to be a pretty nice feature.
What concerns me most is that there will be Aethersh…blade on the map. Why can’t we simply have a wvw without pointless AI mobs running around?
I know, I’m right there with you.
ANet put Living Story PvE into WvW a few months ago and was met with huge backlash… so they decide to do it again? Mind. Blown.

[Bags] loves running with [FUN]; definitely one of the best guilds SBI has to offer.
I’m all for making money… but not like this. =|
I think you’re working for the wrong company
To put it bluntly, I’m getting tired of the stagnant T1 scene – the queues, the blobs, the lag, it’s all getting old to me now. I’m a decent commander in my own right, and have experience leading guild groups and EB zergs alike. I’ve been heavily considering either T2 – T4, in the range of a considerable amount of activity with short queues at most, sans reset night. While I don’t mind playing for PPT, my main focus is getting into a competitive WvW-focused guild that stresses the importance of fights above else with other solid commanders that can lead open field well.
Kitten Loot [BÆGS] of Stormbluff Isle is definitely interested in recruiting more players that focus on finding good fights instead of stressing over PPT. We run almost every night at ~8:00 PM EST with typically 20-25 members, and there’s always people looking to get a roaming group going throughout the day.
Our server has a great community that hosts numerous events and one of the best server websites I’ve seen, an active militia that respects and is loyal to effective commanders, and minimal queue times outside of Eternal Battlegrounds. Full disclosure: we have a solid NA primetime and Olaf does a great job with SEA, but our OCX and EU are lacking.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Ew please don’t make this 500 gems too.
Don’t worry, ANet has listened to your complaints and has agreed to meet them.
This one will be 600
People expected the well established balance fixes that were discussed back before december 10th as “pending further review”, discussed again in the life stream, and now set for release in ???, to be rolled out, at least some of them.
The rune changes, the sigil changes, the other things that would be super interesting for those of that that really don’t care two whips about PVE.
If there are balance issues after the patch, make the small changes and roll it out. If it is too much, back it off a bit in the next patch.
The GW2 patching used to be like this…. little balance changes each patch…. but here we are with the standard MMO model and filler content between patches.
Hell if they are released JUST A FEW rune and sigil updates, I would have been excited, or the 2 sigils per 2h weapon, or the new cooldown interaction with sigils.
But no…. We got literally nothing on that front, but they took the time to explain in great detail all the exciting stuff that will sometime be happening. Using language like “in the next feature patch” is intentionally misleading, and they should have stated at the start of the stream, NOTHING they were discussing had any weight or would happen anytime soon, so feel free to not bother watching.
I am a very reasonable person, but just not bothering to go for low hanging fruit, or attempting to spice up WvW so it is less stale and we get….. nothing at all. Even SPVP which would have loved a few of those rune or sigil changes got nothing as well.
Living story was a fine concept, but it is being used as an excuse not to bother patching the rest of the game. Incremental changes were suppose to be the hallmark of this game, and careful and frequent balance adjustments.
I agree.
If Living Story were anything more than “zerg down this boss/event” and a laundry list of uninspired and tedious achievements to finish the meta, maybe I’d be interested. Unfortunately, that seems not to be the case. ANet has the tools to make GW2 a great game, but it’s as if they’re too hung up on developing items for the gemstore and creating more world events when we already have so many that they can’t introduce real content.
We all been waiting 2 months, TWO MONTHS for a patch that was promised good stuff and variety in terms of fixes, new content all around not just PVE but mostly WvW, and after so much hype and specially after that twitch live were we saw so much stuff comming and so on this is what we got: a new world boss to give us more achivement ponts, or what i like to call To Do List, new super-dupper rare weapons and armor that only 1 in a million will drop, GEM STORE ITEEEEEEEEMMMSSS cause ofcourse what you really need is players wasting €/$ on every item you guys remember to put in there, and the awsome, splendid, epic BLACK LION CHEST changes cause THAT is what we need, things like essences of luck ( that drops no were, oh wait..), and instant trait resets that was so famous in the gemstore. I, for once, was 1 of the many waiting for stuff like WvW points reset and account bound them, bug fixes, build changes, sigils, runes, etc and what did the WvW community got? a name changed Boon… THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH for these awsome updates that took you 2 months to complete we are very happy to see that they came to light. It was a good run in GW2, i guess i will start looking for other avenues beside this one, have fun.
The focus on gemstore items and PvE zerg events makes my head spin. Are there people who actually get enjoyment out of these?
It’s all just so… mindless and stale.

So choosing Ranger over Engi for solo Roaming is a “viable” choice?
Most definitely.
Condi ranger roaming specs are very powerful right now.
No to staff all together. Would much rather have dual wield swords or even a crossbow or a whip.
Going in the direction of a Druid type thing with the class would be a giant fail.p.s. pets are broken/garbage
Going in the direction of the Druid would revive this class, in my opinion.
ANet tried to hit the bow/pet master profession and missed the mark. Adding more nature magic to the Ranger’s repertoire would open up a wide area of opportunity.
I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but this is something that will simply never happen.
Most game companies shudder at the though of excluding content from the player. That’s why a lot of big games show everything they have actively to the player, leaving very little to discover through exploration. Splitting a game into different paths basically means wasting time, work, and money on for example 40 hours of gameplay of which the player will only see 10.
Asking AN to create 8 missions on a bi-weekly schedule, only one of which will be experienced by the average player, instead of making a string of 8 missions is a ludicrous demand.
Wasn’t that supposed to be the basis of the personal story?
Call me crazy, but it’s supposed to be PERSONAL.
A few more slots are still open for recruitment.
Currently looking for skilled Guardians, Necros, Mesmers, and Thieves. Yes, I said Thieves.
If it were much cheaper to transfer to lower-tier servers, I think more guilds and WvW players would consider moving to DR. However, not many people are going to be willing to drop 1800 gems to move to a dying server.
I think something that would really help tie together the living story and your characters’ personal storyline is if ArenaNet implemented monthly profession-based missions. Basically, these would be side missions for each of the professions that would complement the main living story missions.
Think about how cool it would be to run along the rooftops as a thief on a mission that involves sneaking past Scarlet’s minions to steal her battle plans without being seen/getting caught. Or being a guardian and teaming up with the Lionguard on a mission to protect Lion’s Arch while Scarlet’s minions attacks the city. There are a lot of fun possibilities!
It would help to really feel like you are part of the living story and that your profession is more than just a bunch of skills. What do you guys think?
Could be a cool way to unlock profession-specific cosmetic items
You’re welcome, ANet.
Fantastic post.
Hopefully the devs take notice.
Hey Tyrion, nice to see you are still around. I mailed you not too long ago if you still remember me…
Spanish is more comfortable for me so excuse me lol
Me encantaria que tu y tu guild se movieran a SBI, de seguro la pasaras bien y estamos buscando más personas para poder competir con servidores de T3/2. Estaria interesado en unirme si asi deciden
Whatever your choice is Tyrion I hope you find the server that fits you guys the most. Good luck
Is “good community” all sbi has? Cause it’s not really true :/
Everyone from sbi I met is an ____ (fill in word). Any anyone who talks about sbi says they are also. Sbi is always the number one bandwagon server that has all the bad egos on it.
You’re not on SBI so you can’t really say how our community is without a jaded perspective.
Just wait until at least tomorrow to decide. Crit dmg is most likely going to get nerfed soon.
Now I’m scared.
I preemptively bought my x6 Traveler’s Runes and they’ve announced a rune/sigil rework
Kormir didn’t destroy him, she simply became a vessel for him to escape. She was too blind to see this trickery.
There was a communication from anet years ago (after the Nightfall expansion of gw1) that Abaddon was terminally dead. The exact message has been reposted somewhere in this forum recently. As for the quote, was the pun intended? It made me smile.
There was a message from an ANet developer that they don’t make grindy games and that as soon as a character hits level 80, they should have access to the best gear in the game like everyone else.
TLDR: Things change.
We need real, substantial content; enough with these biweekly achievement point farmfests.
If you really want to revive the server fix the attitude towards those who left and maybe some will come back.
Don’t lead him on.
Hello everyone,
I am from AR atm and as well the server does not really matter the main reason I am here is for WVW… The guild I am in in AR are a fun bunch but they mainly pve not to many of them wvw. And after doing nights and nights of wvw alone I am simply tired of it. Even those I enjoy the zergs AR throws out there, it does get boring just running with a group of like 30 AE’ing and calling for fire fields, water fields, etc. Now I am not so much as looking for another server to move to but if needed I can.
I am mainly looking for a guild that runs small groups in wvw for the fun of it. I do enjoy zergs every now and then especially when we are outnumbered and still put up a hell of a fight.
So I guess I am wondering if people have a fun bunch that go into wvw and cause chaos while still having a social friendly environment.
A little about what I play: I main a necro who is at the moment working on full ascended gear( ya I know the pain those bolt of damask…). But he is my go to guy who I enjoy wvwing with. My second most played toon would probably be my elementalist which packs a deadly punch while still surviving. Yah that’s right a ele that does good dmg and survives amazingly, lol. Then finally I have a warrior that I roam with sometimes and currently lvling up a thief to try.
But even with the fun of roaming and causing chaos I do enjoy those zerg fights!
Consider Kitten Loot [BAEGS] on Stormbluff Isle; we’re a newly merged guild from Collecting Loot [Bags] and Too Kitten [BAEST] who have been running together for at least the past six months.
We have nightly guild groups of ~15-25 players and love zerg-busting. While this can be incredibly fun, a lot of us prefer roaming and there’s always someone on to wander WvW with before and after our guild events. I think it’s important to note that we do not play for PPT… we play for fun fights and will actively seek them out.
Our guild places a large emphasis on Warriors, Guardians, and Elementalists, but we’re always looking for a Necromancer that knows how to survive. As for roaming, we welcome any class as long as you can demonstrate you know what you’re doing.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
While I have a soft spot in my heart for Ranger, the unfortunate truth is that they simply aren’t in that great of a spot right now unless you plan on dedicating your time to sPvP or solo-roaming in WvW.
For your first character, I would strongly recommend Warrior. Not only are they an incredibly capable class when it comes to leveling content, but they’re also currently wanted in every aspect of the game; no matter what you plan on doing when you get to 80, your Warrior will be more than welcome. They’re an irreplaceable part of the WvW zerg backbone, they can roam fairly well, they’re very strong in the current sPvP meta, and everyone is happy to see a Warrior in their party when it comes to Fractals and dungeons.
If you’re adamant about playing another class, Guardian and Elementalist are also strong choices. I personally found Guardian to be a bit on the boring side, but Elementalist is probably my favorite class as of now; that might change once my Mesmer and Warrior reach 80.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
I’d love to see Ranger be able to use staff and Engineer to have Mace/Hammer available to them.
Also, Rifle, Shortbow, and Longbow are horribly under-represented.
I’d love to see cast bars implemented into this game.
So long as ascended remains the final “power” tier I like it. It gives people a little something to spend time towards if they wish and opened things up for expanded crafting, expanded designs, etc. It’s a good ceiling provided it remains the ceiling.
Legendary armors, now, should honor the ascended power ceiling and go with the added features, such as the ability to change stats on the fly (out of combat).
If ANet ever makes legendary armor, they deserve to go under. It’d be a complete betrayal of their founding principles in my eyes.
I’d be fine with it if it was on-par with how legendaries are currently implemented, but if there would be a further stat difference from Ascended items, then that’d be simply ridiculous.
(edited by Flytrap.8075)
Ascended items were a terrible idea and ANet should feel bad.
I mean, it completely flies in the face of their “we don’t make grindy games” mantra.
Necro is easymode as long as you don’t get bamzerged.
Oh, well then I’d suggest your entire guild play necro, you guys could use all the help you can get.
That is true; it’s hard roaming with five people when Maguuma runs twenty and still calls it a havoc team.
you do realize that AoN run at most 8 right?
I didn’t realize that AoN is the only guild on Maguuma.
That’s actually pretty cool.

i dont think anyone on maguma calls anything ever a havoc team
Maguuma never zergs.
Maguuma never uses siege.
Maguuma never sits in keeps/towers instead of open-field fighting.Am I doing it right?
^ this. You forgot to mention they NEVER run away when outnumbered either. They’re like 300 against Persia, or SEAL team 6, or the career tributes—-EVERY last one of their players.
And all of their roamers are professionally trained to 1vX.
Everyone else is terrible.
Necro is easymode as long as you don’t get bamzerged.

I think it’s more of the fact that you lose fights when you have 5 against 3
There was this one time where I killed four Maguuma all by myself.
Therefore, all Maguuma are bad. Logic.

Good to see that [AoN] has such upstanding guild members!
You’re roaming on a Mesmer, please go reroll Necro and tell us how it goes. Don’t blame him blame Anet.
Necro is easymode as long as you don’t get bamzerged.
Yes? No? Why? Why not?
I’d rather they did to bring back immersion to the world. Instead of looking at load screens as abrupt transitions.
They should also make traveling real-time. Walking from The Grove to the Black Citadel? Get ready for a week-long hike.
I mean, if we’re going for emersion, let’s do it right.
I saw the elusive Maguuma zerg tonight.
I thought they only existed in legend!

That karma train!
Almost every WvW guild knows its not common practice to GvG on a close week, or a week where their server needs to be pushing. I think its quite obvious YB falls into the second category this week.
??? YB is 20k up since thurs morning. Can’t pull 400 ppt out our kitten s so its safe to call it gg on the ppt game
And YB has clearly been holding a 20k point lead since reset.
were you on this week? sbi was in the lead til sundayish, mags took the lead til wednesdayish, and yb pulled it out wednesday night/thursday.
Anyway, fun week all. Good fights all around, got stomped a bit but was fun never the less. Good luck on reset tonight.
He was being sarcastic.
I don’t mean to be rude or anything to a fellow SBI member, but trollbait posts like this need to stop.
/bows yes master, as you command I shall follow

What’s funny is that PVPers have asked for a way to get some achievement points because they could never compete with PVE masters farming and when Arena net finally throws us a small bone with 2 EXTRA achievement points which we would get just straight up playing anyway, the PVE community just goes absolutely Batkitten over it.
Get over it PVE community; PvP does not have even close to the same efficiency of acquiring achievement points as PvE, and this was supposed to be a small buff so that we aren’t all left sitting on 4-5k achievement points after playing since beta.
Utter Greed all up in this thread, Shame on you. Shame.
The game does not only consist of exclusively of one of the follow: PVE, PVP, WvW. So if you want many AP you have to play all areas. A pure PVE player wont have much more than 5k AP either, simply because he will miss out on WvW dailies, WvW living story, WvW monthlies, PvP dailies and PvP monthlies.
Judging from the sentiment of your last post, you must be thankful then that ANet added in some more dailies for diversified players like yourself
You may want to take a read through the thread in my signature
may I ask, what are the new dailies? X number of wins in each arena? How many wins, and is there anything else?
Ewon, I read through the original posts from the thread linked in your signature. Your position seems very silly to me.
I understand that there are completionists who enjoy getting as many achievement points as possible.
I understand that there are leaderboards, and that maintaining position in these requires work, dedication, and is a major aspect of the game for some people, including yourself.
I understand that introducing new dailies with harsh time requirements means that to continue to maximize AP on a daily basis would require a much greater investment of time, and that not everyone can reasonably make this time commitment?
So what? Wait, no, this isn’t blind hate, let me explain.
A leaderboard should be relative. It should be your position relative to the position of those who are competing with you on the same terms. A PvP leaderboard, for example, measure the win:lose ratio for those who are competing against each other in PvP.
The achievement leaderboard, as far as I can tell, measures the total number of AP one has gained versus the AP others have gained. While I’m sure there is some skill factor here, the major emphasis of this leaderboard and completionist activities in general, is time invested. Who has spent more time achieving all that can be achieved. That’s what’s being measured, and that’s what people are competing for.
As far as I can tell, your stance is that these dailies increase the time investment on a daily basis to stay at maximum AP. But doesn’t your leaderboard already favor those who started AP farming earlier? Since dailies are factored in, people who got this game 6 months later can’t hope to catch up, provided you put in the time to do the current dailies, right?
Okay, well now new completionists who have more time to dedicate (the only thing that the current AP board measures, as far as I can tell, is time dedicated to achieving) will have a chance to prove that they are more hardcore, more time invested achievers than you. That’s what, damaging to your ego?
A leaderboard is your position relative to those you’re competing with. APs gained are a measure of time invested achieving. Why should there be a cap on what’s achievable, just so a select few can maintain a vanity standing?
One of two things can happen: Either A) people continue to invest only a reasonable amount of time in dailies, in which case the standings don’t change and your relative position as an achiever is still top notch and well respected, or B ) people sink in more time achieving than others and move to the front of the pack, which is where they deserve to be since they’re the ones grinding it out and investing the time. They’re better completionists than you.
I had no opinion on this until I read your, very very silly opinion. I am now strongly in favor of these new, hard to complete sPvP dailies. Good work Anet. For serious.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one who found this thread ridiculous.
It was a clear case where aggresive standpoint of players (at least large amount of such players) was effective into bringing the developer to submission. That being said, I dont think AP hunters are a large group of players. We are a minority so I find it plausible that Arena simply will not care (or care but decide that acting is not worth it).
AP Hunters? More like AP Farmers. It seems like you guys are only willing to put in minimal effort towards getting your beloved Achievement Points; any Daily that takes a bit more time instantly becomes “ridiculous” and “uncalled for”.
These new sPvP dailies were added in so that people who ONLY play sPvP can still complete their daily achievement without leaving Heart of the Mists. The win-factor ensures that people aren’t just AFKing for easy points and that they’re actually working for them. I’m sorry that you and your fellow “AP Hunters” think it takes too much time out of your day to complete these, but no one but yourself is making you take on these extra dailies.
TLDR: If you really were interested in hunting for achievement points, you wouldn’t be complaining about how hard they are to farm.

Simply amazed by Yak’s effort this week, props to you guys.
I never mentioned any 2v1 in my previous post nor was I talking about mag.
Fair enough, you’re correct
But even “blaming yaks” for “putting [sbi] in 3rd” is wrong, you guys are still doing it to yourselves
Don’t mind this guy, he’s just demonstrating why SBI doesn’t/shouldn’t/won’t respect [Ark].
P.S. – Loved the PM’s from your guild over the weekend, real classy.
Are you the one that mailed all the admins / leadership on our Ark forums with screenshots and the essay? >.>
No, I didn’t even know that happened O.o
Are you in this video? Think you guys should change your guild name, wiped you 3-4 times, you dropped a lot of bags.
Nope

You should know by now hiding behind towers and commander tags won’t earn you respect from ANY mag guild
We’re not looking for respect; we play this game for fun.
Also, as a roaming guild, it’s sometimes necessary for us to hide. Our measly force of 8-10 is no match for your Abys-like blob.

People have been complaining about this for ages. This is not a recent development.
You can whine and moan about it some more, but ANet doesn’t really seem to care unless you’re a Human, and even they still have some clipping issues. My advice would be to deal with it as best as you can; don’t expect a fix anytime soon.
Maybe we should get you to design and implement the replacement.
You heard it here folks – because you farm peoples guilds in WvW, tPvP achievments should be made easier. A flawless arguement.
And you’d think that he’d be busy farming his tPvP wins instead of spending so much time on the forums
Already got all my tpvp wins today, wasn’t that bad but still took well over 2 hours to play the 8+ games.
By the way, there aren’t any good guilds on Yak’s. Also, considering you only roam, you must be playing a cheese build if you claim to farm us all day.
Anyway, I wish you luck in your quest to remove content from the game.
