Seriously, p/p is for pure condi damage but i guess the hammer will be a better option if you would die without the reflect / block. On the other hand, both of those things aren’t your job to worry about.

Bosses, especially last, was surely faster than anything in vanilla, but still not THAT fast to receive massive harm from confusion. Still a nice pace, tho

Hammer will be surely used in some meta PvP build. In fact i’m already tweaking a marauder SD/HGH build.
Now in PvE, let’s see some numbers, assuming marauder amulet (1050Pow, 1050Pre, 560Vit, 560 Feroc, so numbers can even be higher, but fthe difference is not massive)
HAMMER:
- 766+766+957 in 1.5s
- 2106 in 1s, 6s CD
- 2871 in 1.75, 10s CD
- 2390 in 1.75, 20s CD
- 3450 in 0.75 (5s field), 24s CD
RIFLE:
- 651 in 0.75
- 0
- max 1600 in 0.5, 10s CD
- 999 instant, 15s CD
- 2700 in 1s, 20s CD
Now calculating DPS is not simple since you can’t only factor damage/CD but also cast time, and proper rotation (a skill is better then another when off CD). But just looking at numbers (without talking about uilities) I see the hammer in solid place for Power builds.
Now on condis: pistol #3 is not major chunk of damage, neither #2 (i guess togheter are way <5%) blowtorch insted is a nice chunk BUT with all the utility you bring with hammer, i do not see it as a bad choice in difficult encounters, depending of what you might need to do (like tanking or eating breakbars).
Back to your problem: you need to spend carefully. If you run condi, you are totally in sinister build, so nice power/prec anyway. I’d take a zerker hammer.
Even in condi build you’d loose 179 condi damage for 251 power which is almost acceptable if you are not a minimaxer, and it’s perfect in power builds.
That’s what i’m gonna do, anyway ^ _ ^

Meh not a terrible idea since you still have decent power and prec.
Yes hammer has many utilities and can bring a much needed block, reflect, gapcloser, vuln/stun to the mix, even if blowtorch is a good chunk of the burning part in dps rotation.
I’d see it when you need a bit more defense or as said you act as the tank in encounters where thoughness matters.

Coming back to say that i’m using a little modified version of this
- removed EG for ElixS (dem stomp)
- using advanced turrets in inventions for the reflect
- lockon instead of steamlined kits

I friggin love Skyhammer, but i may be biased since I main engi and off-main Necro 
The fun is exactly that you use the map against your foes. I mean, when you use pillars/corners to LoS enemies is good, but if you use holes to pull/push is bad? Meh.
They should use it in official tpurnaments, imho!
On a totally unrelated note, fix and bring back “Raid on the Capricorn” map

I just couldn’t find a build that felt efficient. Glint is so great that I didn’t see much reason to ever swap out of it. Staff and Hammer are pretty fun to use. Wanted to do Glint/Ventari and be an ideal tank.
Many great possibilities and almost all are pretty balanced. If ventari and/or mallyx get some good improvement i’ll have hard time finding a build.
Guess will be better to have 2/3 in the inventory xD

I am actually mildly disappointed in the dodge effect. Not that it isn’t great that such a suggestion made it into the game but when it was mentioned I think that the original intention was to have it look like the revenant was phasing through the mists as they do when using Phase smash, Unralenting assault or the shiro escape skill, instead of just a puff of smoke.
this couldn’t happen because you can confuse it with a skill. Dodge has to be clear even with fluff effects. Thieves’ one is the same dodge animation with some blurr ;-)
Thieves have the blur effect on other skills as well and nobody mistakes them.
Yeah but they still roll, like everybody. The suggestion was to add a different animation for revenant (no roll, but phasing), that’s what i’m referring too. Fluff effects are cool, but consistency must remain. ^ _ ^

each gyro performs one function i dont see why they cant be unkillable like signets with gyros as visual effects except for stealth gyro
Exactly. You have a passive effect and an active effect on target that goes on cooldown. No buggy AI. No HP issues. Usable in multiple game modes.

I think those have been purposefully left out. There’s no real point in putting them in the BWE (How do you give feedback on dialogue, not like they can change it at this point in development) AND the Revenant still needs some surprises to the players in launch day. Would be boring if we knew about 100% of all dialogue the Revenant’s have before launch.

Fact is sword#5 was designed to be a “pick target” skill.
You are attacking in melee and in order to burst down someone you pull it off from the group.
The idea is original and unique, it just needs fixing. If you want a gap closer you can pick axe ;-)

It would require more money spent on voice acting. I’d rather they keep the money where it matters, tuning gameplay and content not on some stupid fluff.
Didnt we all paid for it tho? It was supposed to be his unique aspect. Yet all we got is some arghhh, if it how it is supposed to be then we might as well delete these “voices”, problem solved.
Yeah we were often told that we would nice interaction with our legends, but it’s not that much so far.
Also, i believe that the voice acting is on the “cheap” side heavily computerised and such. Unless to my knowledge, i may be wrong

It´s simply boring, 3rd offhand sword, 3rd offhand sword block…….i think most people hoped for a real dps offhand sword.
But it´s the axe. Again. 3rd offhand axe, 3rd offhand dps.
Rangers offhand axe is max dps, and warriors is desinged to be a pure dps weapon (even if the dmg it does is too low).
I guess is becasue in a s/s vs a/a context the former is seen with more defensive capabilities than the latter.

People used it as their primary source of direct damage (and break bar breaking with staff, though I want this gone to make room for Hammer) in the Raid beta. There wasn’t really time to put much thought into it then, but people had enough time to realize staff ele just didn’t work with that much movement and raid damage. A meta staff ele couldn’t even stand in the aoe’s you have to have people in because just the damage they received in it (not to mention if people DIDN’T stand in it) was faaaar too much for them to take, so one use they could have is completely gone, and JUST being good at damage isn’t enough to cut it anymore. A rev on the other hand doesn’t loose damage for equipping shield over sword, and maintains a huge amount of defensive utility without losing anything in the damage department. They also have a 1200 range high dps weapon that works reliably on a moving target and truly rivals the combination of Lava Font and Fire AA that makes Ele so powerful on a stationary target. Hammer is really quite similar to Ele Staff, except you can fit your second attack in once between every 2 AAs instead of every 3 like an Ele, you don’t have to aim it, and you don’t have to push 5 unless you see a break bar. All the while they’re giving you hella buffs without really losing any dps, while if an ele wanted to give you a bit of support they could, but they aren’t going to be doing any damage for 10 seconds and that support is much more limited.
Back to scepter focus? I like that wep set

I can only share my thoughts as a ranger main about the rev (not as druid, don’t have HoT yet). I faced many revs while roaming and in the obsidian sanctum. My biggest problem with revs is that it’s a new class. That’s all. I told everyone who lost to a rev following: “You’re gonna get used to it, you have no idea how a rev works yet, just wait, die sometimes and learn”. I feel that the pressure a rev can dish out is extremely high, even on range while being naturally tanky and with glint… well glint is this thing… “you dead yet?” – “nope!”. But it’s okay for me, that’s how it works. I dueled about 20 revs and lost to none but it can always be that I just faced noobs. Well, with the rev, kinda everyone is a noob. Wether rev players nor their enemies can’t have figured out what’s possible and what’s not at this stage. Not enough time has passed imo. It’s the same things with their skillsets. When I started GW2 I had no idea when and why some warriors reflected, when they were immune to condis and damage – until I started watching their buff-bar and actually figuring out how a warrior works. We really have to see what’s gonna happen a month after release. If nerfs are really that needed, if people get used to it. I have no clue yet. I saw the grunts as a sort of “I’m being dragged back into the world against my will” kinda thing. Imagine you’re just chilling out in The Mists. Maybe catching up with some old friends or using the toilet I dunno. Suddenly some geezer you’ve never even met is ripping holes in the universe and forcing you through them.
I’d like some more voice lines too. The on downed/defeated idea is especially interesting, but they’d need to have a low chance of triggering so that they don’t become annoying. Shiro could scream “NOOOOOoooooo!” like in the Factions trailer. Glint could state that you were not the chosen one or that she didn’t forsee this. Jalis could remark that you didn’t put up much of a fight. Mallyx on the other hand could just laugh at you.
Perhaps some voice lines for rallying too. “All things have a right to grow. Except you!”

Oh , hell yeah full ascended : armor , back , amulets , accessories , infused rings , Valkyrie hammer , 2 Berserker swords with Blade of Sunless or Fractal sword skins depending on the mood , using Entropy for the hammer ( IMO underated ) , full set of hoelbrak runes , rage sigils – I’d say I’m pretty prepped

Grasp should be “step towards the mist to bound and pull the foe with you” 600range, unblockable.I bieleve thats what originally grasp was from datamined stuff where it had 600 range, 600 pull. I used it mostly as set up to jade winds if i managed to have so much energy to do so or as a tool to disorient ppl. But 15 energy cost..it hurts
Yeah, I thought that it would be a teleport to an enemy up to 600 units away, followed by a teleport back to your original position with the enemy being pulled along the way.
That would make much more sense to me, at least.
while being cool think of that: twice the chance to get stuck in the terrain and fail… XD

Just wanted to post and let you guys know the FX artist has been looking into this. For starters we’re going to swap the Distributed Magic orange telegraph to a different colour (since orange usually denotes “GTFO” and not “You should stand here”). Secondly, he’s looking into adding more “height” to the Unstable Magic Spike attack to help give more visual cue that you need to move/dodge. Hopefully some of this will help the messaging!
Would be nice if you could change all aoe indicators from barely visible red circles to solid orange aoes. His aoe spam when he gets a breakbar is barely visible. Red circles blend with seekers and the terrain.
yeah given the overall FX in game i think too ALL aoe should be hard orange ;-)

Well you can already see if someone is supporting you or not, you can see the buffs, ress etc but not the dmg done by a player. I sure want a complex DPS tool like in Wildstar too, but I think not gonna happen.
Right, but DPS only matters if you’re struggling. (If you’re winning, you probably don’t care as much.)
At which point, someone’s going to just see that Joe’s DPS was the lowest. They’re not going to care that Joe had to keep rezzing the Zerkers and stacked might on them.
