For me obvious pick is Kalla Scorchrazor if we’re to wander into Charr-themed expansion. She has greatsword people adore, she’s major character, she’s dead, she’s a hero of Charr, she’s a leader (Paragon-like Spec). Everything needed.
Next shots would be either Pyre Fierceshot (Ranger-like Legend) or Bonfazz Burntfur (Elementalist-like Legend).
Of course, Master Togo because everyone desperately wants Ritualist back, including me. No-brainer.
Blimm Legend would be interesting, as well as Talon Silverwing.
Both Kalla and Pyre would be great, especially since I play mainly charrs
We actually need both gameplays on rev so either would be cool for me (even if i’d like more Pyre)

UA isn’t necessarily OP for its damage. It’s just another invuln lol. And it’s the whole package that’s problematic, which includes the blocks, the teleports, the boons… reminding you guys of anything yet? Why are people (devs included) even ok with this?
because it’s not that crazy as people claims? I say again, go against an half decent player and you see how it’s not that massive.

tbh sword is in a great spot, now with the change to the auto attack even more.
you can’t compare offhand sword, axe and shield at all because they all fill different roles.
axe is a fast offhand with a teleport, designed for use when you don’t slot shiro.
offhand sword is a defensive dps weapon to pull people out of a crowd, isolate and kill them.
shield is a sustain offhand weapon and offers no damage at all but only support/defense.
exactly, also talking about mere blocking sword is the best option given duration/CD.
I agree that we should make something about #5: it fails often given the nature of the skill, but the idea of pickin up a target and isolate it is neat.

MH Dagger – Ranged condition weapon option, since apart from mace a revenant doesn’t have another MH condition weapon

Unfortunately since we have left just GS/LB/SB we can just swap them around for melee/ranged to have something unique…melee bows feel really awkward to me (another story is trowing magic stuff with melee weapons).
Now which Legends should we pair with those? :-D

On serious note, is really hard to tell now.
So far seems that Shiro/Glint in power gear is the way to go. Mix of berserker’s or assassin’s / valkyrie’s.
Sword/x (pref shield) and hammer for when ranged is needed, Jalis over shiro for WvW with more tanky gear.
At least this was the dominat build around.
Anyway we need to at least have a solid month of gameplay.

Overall, after the last BWE, we felt like revenant was in a solid spot. For launch we mainly focused on bug fixing and a few outliers such as changing the second hit of the sword auto-attack as well as speeding up the tablet move speed.
That’s not to say that there aren’t more things we are thinking about how to improve or tweak, but we want the profession to get in more playtime and thus more feedback before we make any more larger changes. I’m definitely reading all the feedback and taking under consideration for future changes so keep up the awesome work.
Herald/shiro is god-tier Roy. I don’t think it requires months of play testing to warrant some sensible nerfs. plenty of people have given this feedback already on these forums. not to mention that many of us witnessed how overpowered it is in the hands of seasoned pvp’ers. this one definitely slipped past the internal testers (not sure how).

Stability is a menace and should be removed on all classes. If necessary we could have a new system where in order to get stability, you must type in the chatbox: ‘Stability plz 123’. This would allow fast typers and psychics to be rewarded for their superior intellect and reflexes whilst punishing morons, muggles and people with bad keyboard skills.
Stunbreaks should also be removed. If people want to avoid stuns they should have to dodge. There’s no sense in having these buttons that get you off scott-free. We should have an increased number of stuns and other control effects on all professions. None of these should be passive effects. This will promote the ideal of saving your dodges meaning anyone who wastes them on evading dps attacks should be punished as they are obviously idiots.
We should remove all passive traits and replace them with active skills of your choice. This would increase build diversity and send those filthy, disgusting casuals straight back to hell. Those imbeciles should never be able to keep up with a game that’s meant for champions.

Now you got me thinking. If you were farming Tots in the Labyrinth and hit DR, then jumped on a Maize train, would that hold DR or start to decrease it since you are in a different area?
I wonder if you could then have DR in both areas if you had a good Maize train?
if you change area/activity you won’t have DR in the new area. So cycling Maize, labryrinth and clocktower jp might be the steadiest way to farm them ;-)
If you hit DR in all just start clear up the inventory or change toon.

You aren’t “outplaying” anyone. You aren’t even playing the game. You’re playing the waiting game.
If you exclusively play Engi why does this post sound so much like a case of “mad cuz bad”?
I would say regardless of profession most good PvP players play the waiting game. Wait for an opening. Wait for opponent to burn cleanses. Wait for them to use cooldowns. Wait to use dodges for dangerous attacks. Wait to cleanse the right conditions. And yes, stall and use defensive skills while you wait for your heal to come back up. This is pretty typical of high level PvP.
If you just run in Leeroy Jenkins style it might work in hot join or low tier games but I feel that to be really good in PvP you’re supposed to play a patient waiting game.
Whenever I pick up Soldier Rifle with Elixir S Gear Shield HT and Vamp Runes I just feel disgusted. I spend less time playing the game and more time leading everyone on a goose chase while they die to my teammates, and if they chase me they lose the point. If they don’t I just come back and do it all over again. It’s why I prefer to just play an HGH Juggernaut build without Elixir S or tool kit, at least then I actually get to play the game

Well basically anything with utility /traits to bunker up.

Melee rangers with quickdraw and shouts have some of the best mobility in the game, minus blinks.

Look listening to the community doesn’t mean everything the community says is right and they should follow blindly.
People now are salty because they see their major income nerfed but if you love dungeons you should love fractals too, and with the rework and updgrade of the rewards there what’s the problem if you do more of them?
Don’t lie, dungeons are the same since launch, when you run them you skip cinematics and just rush to the end for the gold. Almost everyone cares about the gold otherwise there won’t be this dust. So what if now the main dungeon are the fractal and now the same gold comes from them? You seriously won’t run them? Is it the same, no?
This whole rage makes me laugh.
At least you are driven to try something different of what you usually do.
Maybe that’s it, like always people are scared of changes…so why do you even complain the game doesn’t get new content if you don’t like the changes? LOL

There are PLENTY of options for rebalancing the gold reward (make it 50-75s, give players lodestones, T6 mats, or whatever of equally worth)
This was a straight LAZY move on their part, point blank, period.
Disincentivize means exactly what he said, make people play it less, not never again.
So people will play other content more often.
The gold reward will probably go to the value you stated, something around 50 to 75 silvers (for the 1G worth ones, proportionate that for arah).
A full fractal run @50 gives 1g40s. Divide that in 4 parts is 35s. With the change on fractals i see each on yeld 50-75 too, since each one is fast like a dungeon path.
People don’t do fractals because is not worth for the time/reward, but are exactly a dungeon like the others. If you even that people will play them or dungeon because they like them and won’t lose on the rewards.

Once raid encounter starts, you won’t leave or break combat. Area becomes restricted with walls and mobs don’t drop aggro till everyone wipes.

Anyway i haven’t tested any celestial build during the BWEs but with mace/axe sword/shield i can see some potential. I guess we’ll have to wait 8 more days to know

Your constructive feedback has been really awesome so far and I trust will continue to be. I understand your concerns with not enough being communicated and I’m looking into getting more information out on some of the more solid changes we have.
Ever considered to make some of them invulnerable like… all except FunctionG? Imho same effect with immunity wouldn’t even be op but would allow us to use them in all situations… some effect are very low in power (like purge,medic or blast)…

Ok so that’s actually a huge problem of this build. You need elixir gun for cleave, because you lack the consistent nade cleave, but you also need elixir S to survive, there is no way around it. You are a glass cannon engi and it’s one of the most vulnerable builds out there.
But when people rezz properly in PvP, there is no way you will get a safestomp with the elixir.

Yeah :/ but actually i think that the best suit for this build is exactly the single target dps.
I play like i play my thief, 1v1 not that different, in group you stay at the edge of the fight, you stick to the target and when the right moment comes → moa+burst and safe elixS stomp.
The stealth is super useful as opener or escape, elixS is also the life safer (togheter with traited one and willingly with vamp runes)

I doubt Shiro/Glint will get some crushing nerfs. Phase Traversal might get some small CD, maybe they’ll finally listen to my suggestion about Unrelenting Assault, Infuse Light will get better visual indicator, Staff #5 won’t annihilate boss breakbars on it’s own anymore, maybe some Hammer #2 rebalancing so max range does a bit lower damage while close and midrange get bumped up…and that would be it.
Oh and expect buffs to Jalis and pretty heavy ones to Ventari and Mallyx.

Imho is not bad as you picture. Yes we have less microchoices but we make 2 big one, which role bring with which legend. I like that. Also let’s be honest: 5 legends provide 10 possible combinations (5!/3!*2!); now tell me if you seriously can come up with more than 10 viable utility combinations with any class. Keyword viable, also with sense. You’d be able in few rare cases, like engi.
So to me this limitation is just apparent and even if this allows a “pre balanced” class i’m not mad at all, at least we wont suffer hell as other classes.
On a side note i’d really like to see 1 more utility per legend, tho ;-)

Anet keep repeating their mistake…apparently they dun understand the meaning of pvp. PVP = player versus player good example of ANET mistake the new pvp map stronghold is basically like who rush the gate/boss faster who win the game. WVW had also become more pve focus as well. Anet is slowly moving away from their core concept a MMO that is truly unique to a MMO that copy others to cater to a larger audience
Yet, the most famous and played pvp game is League of Legends, which is an extended (both in mechanic and time) version of Stronghold.

don’t want to troll but… condi builds are around but not THAT and mainily are guardians and engis because they can spike burning, otherwise they are far from viable given all the clenses. Really I do not see this issue AT ALL.

To make off-hand sword more viable option, you could possibly change the Grasping Shadow in a way that you shadowstep to the foe, hit them and if the hit lands, then you shadowstep to where you started this skill with the foe you targeted.
This way it would be at least sort of a gap closer with possiblity to kidnap the foe.
might resolve the pathing issue in this case, if they can switch it off for the returning shadowstep (like theives’ sword#2)
Fact is in this case we lose the overall functionality, where you are in melee and pick up a target, insted of being at range and then in/out to kidnap, but hey, at least we would have some sort of control of where do we end on return.

Yea it’s kinda frustrating our legis always had almost no effects for us. And now? None, all gone … well … let’s deal with it :| at least we got the hobo sack gone, so we can enjoy at least a bit fashion now :P
well still, we deserve some fashion attention, we are easily the least fashionable class.

Exactly, Static Discharge in Tools messes up with skill queues.
Also I’d suggest to use “fast AoE” in the options.
Basically this would allow to:
- press and keep pressed skill button -> show aoe reticle
- release button to cast
If your mouse is already in the right place just press the skill like a normal one (example mortar or nades spam)
Also select the option to stop the riticle to go further skill’s max range (can’t recall the name), it’s massivele useful!
Let us know if even after that it’s still a problem.
