Yep ventari/salvation got a lot of good feedback but except of a few tweaks was almost untouched. I thought it was the fear to make it op, but seeing the druid, well, now there’s no reason !!

I’m a charr fan and i managed to stick to them with my engi (medium armor on charr ar honestly the worst)
Heavy armor looks super cool on them.
Human/norm while lokking cool are to mainstream to me.
My first main, a thief, was a sylvari and i really enjoy the race.
Asura also are super cool, but the fact they are so tiny cuts much of the fun after a while.
So i’ll make 90% charr and 10% sylvari (if i do not take back my thief ;-) )

Well let’s try it out but i’m pretty sure we’ll need some tweaks because while i’m happy for the rangers is not healthy for the game have only 1 master healer. For the sake of balance other classes should be equal in that and revenant as already everything in place for that role.

About #3 i’m really happy, is not a massive new professional mechanic but we are the only class aside thieves to be able to use a mechanic like that.What Part of Facet of Nature does a Thief do? o,0
I meant that we are the only class aside thieves that have enery mechanic and that can have an “upkeep” mechanic attached to it ;-)

I can’t bear this waiting! Since 3 years i haven’t really loved a gw2 class, engineer beeing my favorite but lack of something.. Revenant is definitly what i want and love (ritualist theme back !). It’s horrible to have to wait for 23 october. I was expecting maybe a elite spec outclass the revenant in my mind but no, revenant still definitly my main and still 23 october i’m booooooooored in the game. But i’m not preparing anything for him. I want to level up slowly, taking time to know better the class and complete map, like the real main i never have.
Good to hear such enthusiasm..i’ll insta 80 him but i’ll take him everywhere ;-)

Druid is more about burst healing in key moments as it takes a while to build up astral force to enter celestial avatar, Ventari is more about sustain healing.
Well druid staff has pretty high sustained healing/support it seems.
I’d like to see a little love to ventari#6, make it istant (so teleporting, healing on arrival, not while walking) increase a bit the healing, decrese cost to 5energy or a combination of those.
The elite too could use some tweakes but overall i feel is the #6 that needs it most.

After the druid reveal (amazing work, rangers are surely pleqsed), which makes him the best healer hand down in the game, can we hope for our inventions trait line to be adjusted and be a good healing powerhouse like we were seemed to be? And medikit too: astral form is basically all i wanted the kit to be.
Please, also for the sake of balance and variety, make other classes good at healing too. We are pretty good candidates, elementalists, guardians and revenants are too.

I haven’t gotten the time to test the spear in BW2, but I’m personally not a fan of a weapon with two auto-attacks that tries to do two different things altogether for the sake of an old restriction that no longer exists.

Pvt is never a bad idea but since Rev has a good hp pool why not valk? I’ll go one or another as soon as i nail down a build :P

Soooooo…. I wanted to throw out an idea I had about a new GM trait for retribution to place it and see what you all think. The trait would be more dwarf stance focused since we don’t have a dwarf stance specific trait.
- It would give you some way to proc Rite of the Great Dwarf like at some percent health trigger or something and then make Rite of the Great Dwarf (both proc and the skill) have reduced condition damage taken as well while allies have the buff.
Let me know what you think.
Personally I’m not a fan of any of the % health cast ability traits. If I want to cast a skill it’s on my hotbar and I can push the button myself. These often lack any degree of excitement for me when I see them in the trait line. I would much rather see something that gives % bonuses to toughness for the dwarf line than auto proc skill stuff…
This view likely comes from how I handle traits as a whole. I want passive bonuses, that improve my overall potential strength, but I look for the always on traits as opposed to the long cooldown proc skill traits.
My exact thought, the proposal is super good, but i always like more active gameplay.
I have to say that when i run similar traits i always keep track of the proc and play them in my favor. Example elix s on engi if i’m low hp i still go in for the stomp saving my active skill cuz i know i’ll proc the passive ;-)Well the active part of it would be that RotGD would be upgraded naturally with the trait so that you can actively push it whenever you want for the benefit. The added proc would be a benefit if you didn’t necessarily want to take dwarf stance with the trait.
On skill use as a trigger for it I think would be weird because it would force a recharge when you maybe don’t want to use it, like engaging in a fight before damage is happening where as a % health trigger would help ensure you are under pressure when it goes off.
In this case i’m in favor, then
I agree on “rev needs a weakness” but honestly other classes do not have a condi weakness likenours atm…so at least a trait to help this is greately appreciated.
I agree we should play on evading things rather than facetank them but sometimes you simply can’t and this trait will help greately. I’d suggest the proc at 50% hp.

It has the same functionality as other shadowstep skills such as Signet of Infiltration on thief.
As long as it doesn’t go through keep walls, then all is good!
You do not understand..it means it GOES through wall, like many other skills already in other classes. This is not rev specific but game engine level. When/if they’ll gix this every skill with this behaviour will be adjusted. Nothing to be desperate on

I can see the reasoning but being stuck in place allows them to queue up an ability to hit you with as soon as you come out of it negating the healing done. I was just curious as to what you guys and Roy thinks. Keep the opinions coming!
Roy already replied on that. Reason behind root is that, well is a crystal hybernation :-D like original glint’s one.
This gave the chance to add powerful effects to the skill because a simple block (or original break bar) wasn’t enough. Roy stated clearly that if the root goes away the skill need to be toned down by A LOT.
So guys, since we already have a block on oh sword and staff, can we please have a different kind of block, powerful and with flavor on shield?
Also is the enemy can time to attack when you finish block, you can time a bloody dodge too.
And still you might use this skill out of the heat and benefit from an almost full heal…why would people want to pass on that?

Is there a reason we aren’t allowed to move with Crystal Hibernation? Engineer and Warrior both are able to move while blocking attacks.
I’m not Roy, but I’d guess it’s because the Warrior block only blocks and has no additional effects, while the Engie is similiar to Revy’s Sword block, and is also only a 1+ second block.
CH heals for quite a bit afterwards.
If you want mobile blocking, go with Sword.
Pretty much, shield#5 heals 3.6k with 0 HPow..on 20s cd…that’s kitten strong, almost a second heal!

The hammer 1-5 and the bulwark are good. The rest is absolute garbage.
Yeah hammer is amazing, gyros need a serious overhaul and traits are sorta nice. That’s exactly why we were concerned about engi being revealed so late…not much time to fix things at this point……

I vote for a rifle (some kind of ghost-busters theme) that applies torment/burning. Every class and their dog have GS.
Or if they are willing I would always be for land spears (could be thrown). But I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen.
Ahh, but no class has a Ranged condi GS. Besides that, Rifle is a terribly boring weapon!

I’ll power level him to 80 for sure, then i’ll procede to explore the world at least for the Hero Point and Waypoints needed for the herald (I’ll unlock it first tho, and i’ll leave behind mallyx since in pve i do not see the urge to unlock it).
Anyway Tomes on lv 80 won’t give any exp, just shards ;-)

Since corruption and mallyx is all about being the master of torment and being pushed more that route, I’m playing around with an idea I wanted to run by all of you. Torment is less valued in stationary fights due to the way torment functions. Since torment is the main damaging condition for Revenant, I’ve been thinking about adding functionality to a trait or maybe changing the minor 2 in corruption to increase the base damage torment does while not moving while not increasing the while moving damage to help it become more of a viable option in all areas of the game. What do you all think?
This comes down to the nature of torment itself and ain’t different for a revenant or for example a mesmer scepter. If you really feel torment in itself is in a poor place, don’t just change a trait on rev to boost it, change the condition itself to make it more worth it.
It’s not that tbh. Condition is good as supplementary condition often but other classes rely on other conditions as well like bleed, burn, confusion while Mallyx besides #2 fire is almost exclusively Torment based that’s why it is supposed to get boost. Why? Because if they simply make us stack even more then it’s ok when not moving and totally deadly when moving. So they want to raise bottom dmg up without raising total dmg when moving.
Well doing math torment is the second damaging condition in the game, worth half of a burning if the target moves.
Atm we can spike up to 20+ stacks with very optimal conditions especially in pve, which is worth 10 stacks of burning.
So i’d say we are in pretty good place. I’d prefer something better but in PvE that trait that enhance the torment damage while standing still is good enough for me.
Just i don’t see many uses in pvp ^^

I agree that a CC on UA would be nice, but I’d rather not have it on landing. Sometimes (quite often actually), I just want to inflict maximum Torment damage. Especially in PvE, this is important, as I want to be able to deal competitive condi DPS without knocking foes all over the place. Now that the Torment will be inflicted per pulse, this is even more important.
That’s why I would love to see UA transition into a second skill that detonates the field, inflicting fear or knockback to foes inside. This skill could be called Shadow Smash or Shadow Blast or something. The most important thing about this is that the CC would be optional, not forced, making UA useful for a wider variety of occasions.
The cooldown could also be dropped this way, which is something we all want I believe.
Hence my suggestion to include a pull into the center of the field. That way you have both CC and enemies get trapped into the torment field. (Get rid of the chill)
i do like this idea…even if i’ll miss badly the area denial of old UA ;-)

nah gyros will be probably like turrets. they die in 2 hits from players and 1 hit from creatures and have a high CD.
they’ll also probably have the AI problems of minions from necromancers. where you can have an enemy in melee range auto attacking you for 45 seconds before the gyro reacts. and when you command the gyro to fly over to a downed state enemy to finish him, the gyro will get stuck on a single pixel jutting out of the ground.
if that’s the case i promise i’ll switch 100% my main to rev in a heartbeat U.U

at this point i don’t really think they will add any new weapon to rev.
Which is quite sad, given that Guardian has 10 and Warrior has 13! (When counting mainhand and offhand seperately, anyway.)
Though, I suppose they’re quite well-off when compared to the other Jack-of-all-Trades classes, with Elementalist at 6 and Engineer at 5. X) Thooough Elementalist COULD be seen as having 24 with their Attunements, or even 29 with Conjures, and Engineer could be seen as having 11 with Kits. :P
uhm after RIfle, Pistol/Pistol and Pistol/Shield which are other engi’s weapons? Not counting incoming hammer :-D
Anyway like eles and engis the class mechanic covers/justify the low number of weapons. And i’m kinda cool with that.

Exactly my thoughts. Why can’t it be a pulsing AoE, centered on you (with limit to 1 or 2 targets), that just looks like hammers?
my best guess? as a dev too, i immagine they spent a good deal of work to make an infinite projectile spinning around you. The idea is super cool to. Throw that away is harsh :-|
So here’s another suggestion, isn’t possible to make projectiles indestructible? at all?

Currently all my engi does is camp at tequatl and spam mortars between 1am and 1.15am. . . this will actually make me do more with him again. Used to run fractals with him then got bored of that and went back to using mesmer/ele there but this has me thinking of stripping my ranger off again and moving it to the engi (ranger had it for wvw – switched that to guardian for now till HoT).
Hmm, becoming tougher and tougher to pick a class for PvE side of the game come HoT as I don’t like using same character in various game modes else I would get bored.
WvW – Revenant (pretty much a certainty, just got to decide what role in guild raids I want)
sPvP – meh whatever the dailies are. So play most classes there except theif!
PvE – Engi? Reaper (used to main necro)? Rev? .. all 3 have me interested now. Mesmer too as that was my original character and I miss the little asura!
are my twin or something? I just run engi / necro and soon rev will be thrown in the mix. Depending on the day i mix class and game modes without any particular reason (well, except as you said, spvp dailies
)
Anyway whole Scrapper concept seems pretty cool. I’ll hate if those little drones will be very susceptible to damage.
Something i hope is that they are immune to damage but not CC, or VERY high V/T

A few more things:
- I reduced the after-cast of unyielding anguish by 260ms so it should help the responsiveness when you land.
- Embrace the Darkness: Lowered the cast time and after-cast by 400ms and reduced it’s upkeep cost by 1 so it’s at a 7 upkeep cast right now.
I think lowering the upkeep cost was a bad idea. Before this change the only stance that could not achieve the -10 upkeep cost to fully benefit from the trait hardening persistence was the legendary dwarf stance; now there are two legends that can’t.
It’s a 40 toughness loss … cmon xD as if now EtD is an upkeep that must be held up to be useful, before just some fee secs to copy and exit wherr enougj ;-)
