I hate Kiel very much, btw, but that’s because she steals credit of other npcs and her attitude makes me cringe.

They know they messed up, admitted it and now they are going by the decision that will be less harmful. I can respect that, despite my opinion on the subject.

They prefer to give a refund for the few people that bought the skin during the two or three hours that it was available than to screw up the many more that bought the regular skin for two times the price that they put on the gem store. It is a pretty logical decision.

And since we have gem to gold conversion, it is reasonable to assume that many people used RWM to buy the regular skins, too.

If she killed Trahearne, I would probably quit :T

But yeah, I want another villain, but I don’t think the problem is Scarlet as a character. I don’t hate Scarlet as much as most players seem to do, I just don’t want to see her stuff everywhere, all the time. My real problem with the story is that I need it to make sense. When it does not, I can’t enjoy it.
Out of all the things that were not explained, one of them is the one that bothers me more than any other: Where is Trahearne?
I’m not asking “where he npc is”. I am asking “where in the Living Story is him”. Many things happened, things that he should be worried about, if not as the Pact’s leader then as a Sylvari Firstborn or as the guy that knows more about Orr than everyone else (Teq shows up stronger? Not his problem, it seems). However, he said nothing to his best friend and commander. Not even a letter!
Come on! He contact me to talk about every single step on the PS. Now, he simply vanished.

I’m usually not such a downer, and maybe I will change my mind after a few days, when the disappointment wears off.
I don’t want to talk about all the negative points of this update, I’m tired of complaining about them. Therefore, I will talk about the only things I liked:
Knowing that we will soon be able to get Grenth Hood and already being able to try it on through the PvP skin locker was great. I love the skin, even if none of my characters will use it (it doesn’t fit them).
It is nice to be able to show the rarity of the items on the bag. So colorful and helpful!

That’s it. I either disliked or didn’t care for everything else.

A long skirt for my mesmer, one that is not ripped, open on the front or made of foliage and does not have pants underneath. Just a pretty and elegant long skirt, suited for a noble. If it is not too low (showing the stomach), even better, since I want a set that looks like a dress.

Canach. No, really. I want him back. He is an interesting character with much room for development.

I don’t remember on which borderland I was when I saw it since I move a lot between WvW maps, but I believe there must be one on each borderland.

I wasn’t farming the activities anyway because I like sPvP better, but I think every kind of PvP should be rewarded as such. And, well, the activities are PvP.

For those who haven’t yet been lucky enough to get the Trahearne fight, I took a couple screens.

I don’t think this was the case with the other characters, but you actually get a ‘FINISH THEM!" prompt with Trahearne. I know I didn’t get one for Logan. I get the feeling Anet knew we’d all want to end him with a finisher, so kudos on that.

We have to finish our mentors, too.
But yeah, not the Destiny’s Edge.

Thanks for the screens! Doesn’t Scarlet comment on anything, though? I mean, when I fought Eir, Scarlet said something like “Eir doesn’t love her Slayer anymore. Not after… you know.”
And I was thinking about that… I don’t remember doing anything that could even slightly upset Eir.

Got Forgal 3 times with my norn (vigil), so I think you get your mentor depending on your Order. Also, got Eir two times with my norn, too.

To be honest, I am still hoping that Canach is involved somehow. He knows how to manipulate toxins, at least.

I don’t want Canach to be truly evil, but Scarlet is already too overpowered. Having other people involved that actually have skills that she does not would make the whole story more interesting. It is hard to like a character that excels on absolutely everything and don’t really need help, besides a bunch of minions that don’t mind being killed.

The last time I checked, the zodiac skins were way more expansive on the TP than these skins are, for example.

I just had to fight Logan. That was actually a tough fight, but, I don’t think my character cries herself to sleep every night because Logan doesn’t love her as much as a silly, fat-headed royal.

I also had to rescue Petra, she was in one of the cages, but that’s the only other character from the story that I saw so far.

I don’t know if I would have fought Trahearne if I had found him inside the instance before knowing that it was an illusion/hallucination. I mean, if it was obvious from the start that it wasn’t really him, I would have no problems, of course. That’s why I want to know what he says, I want to know if it would have fooled me.
Really, if he had turned out to be evil, saying “Commander, to me” would be enough for me to happily run to his side or, if not possible, to turn around and leave the instance, refusing to fight him.

Indeed. I am just hoping that the skins will be available for long enough for the gem prices to settle. If it is like Braham and Rox’s skins, then they will be available for a limited time only. I am cautiously hopeful that they will be permanent additions to the store though, since it is not saying anywhere that they are limited time only.

It is not a problem, for me, the fact that it is a one-time use skin, for I just want the staff for my mesmer (my necro does not use axes and I don’t really like the dagger).

Jski is talking about Braham and Rox’s weapons, including Rox’s Quiver, the only buyable quiver skin the game ever had and very popular with bow users.

I wonder if they will be available for a limited time or if they will be a permanent addition to the store, because the gems are way too expansive right now. I was going to buy it for my Mesmer so she would have a nice staff skin while I don’t get a white ascended staff for her, but with the 50g I would spend right now I could just finish leveling Artificer.

I don’t think either should change with hair. They should have separated color options.
I mean, my eyebrow has always been darker than my hair, for example. Also, if the character’s hair is way too light, it would look like the character has no eyebrows, and that’s why some females paint their eyebrows on the first place. Some people are ok with that, some are not. I would get pretty mad if my mesmer’s eyebrows suddenly disappeared (white skin and almost white hair).
Linking eyebrow’s color to the face of the character, like it is now, is awful too.

Wow, you almost gave me a heart attack, OP. I didn’t find him, but I’m glad that it is just an illusion. I really do not want him dead. I am aware of his lack of popularity, and maybe that’s why I have a soft spot for him now (poor guy… After all we’ve been through together, everybody hates him).

All the mini dungeons (including the one at the top of the tower) were easy. Giving that I died many times on my way up (only actually getting there when I finally gave up and joined a group), I was ready to be beaten to a pulp inside that dungeon. Needless to say, I was surprised that it was so easy.
But I liked it.

It was a good cinematic.
It must have been specially useful for someone that just started playing or that didn’t pay attention during the whole year.

Rangers can control their pets, necromancers can chose when to use the minion’s ability and mesmers can chose which phantasms to use and when to shatter them to cause the most damage. It is not PvE so that argument is invalid.

The rest of your post is just “how DARE them to get rewards for having fun while I do something I hate because I want the titles”, and I’m sure nothing I can say about that will matter to you.

Anyway, I enjoy all forms of PvP in the game to date and I don’t think it is fair that some of them are not rewarded as such. Activities are PvP, no matter how I look at them.

I don’t mind if it stays. It just makes sense, since the activities ARE pvp.

I am all for wvw alt-friendliness. I don’t agree with OP’s idea though. The only way it would make sense was if turning on the Commander tag automatically changed your display name to your account name. That way when troll Commander Gabby decides to switch to another alt, and troll with them as the commander instead, it still says “Commander Gabby”. If OP amends this to their original submission I would support it.

Ohh lovely idea. I like your idea better, really. It solves the problem.

I wonder if WvW will ever be alt-friendly. I guess not.

The commander is the player, not the character. I think the benefit that making the tag account bound would bring to good commanders surpass the annoyance that troll commanders might be (though I never saw one, to be honest).

You are correct, sorry. The damage output difference is something between 10% and 16% depending on the stat combo, according to Google. I don’t know if these calculations are accurate, but I’m assuming that they are. For characters with low HP and armor in WvW, that extra damage per hit from an enemy can be deadly, I’ll give you that. Still, it is not relevant for PvE imo.

Anyway, I can’t play for many hours a day (except for weekends and Wednesdays) so I got only huntsman to 500 (working on weaponsmith now). Never bought gems, probably never will, will get there on my own pace and with the gold I get by doing stuff that I enjoy (mostly, zerging around. I love zergs). The skins are too pretty to pass. I need them. Mostly, the pistol, the GS and the staff.

I’m glad you people cleared that up. I kinda need that mini.

I would like if it was possible to use your own alts as “heroes” that could be used everywhere (they would be npcs, of course). It would be cool for roleplay. Edit: with “everywhere”, I mean open world and dungeons. PVE only, not pvp and wvw.
However, I can see a person making 5 zerker warriors and soloing everything, so I know it won’t happen.

About regular hero system like the one on GW1, people already said what I think about it. It wouldn’t work on GW2 because the AI is a bit lacking concerning dodges and blocks. I think we would end up with a bunch of Trahearnes; dead everywhere, all the time.

Now for some constructive discussion, the resources to make such armor on anets end probably wouldn’t be worth it as they said they don’t make many new armors because of how many different variations and how long it takes to make them. Something that is so prestigious that only about 1% of the players will have should have to do with skill instead of buying gems or endless farming

You wouldnt need so many variants with Cultural though since you’re only making it for one race .

They would have to make one set for each armor type and race per tier. We are talking about two tiers, which means 30 sets. For gender differences, double it and subtract 12 because charr and asura wear the male version of most armor sets even if they are females. 48 sets, then. If charr and asura get separate sets for females, then it jumps to 60 sets. That is even harder than making some sets for humans and adapting them to the other races like they do to sets that are not cultural.

Combining different sets, dyes and weapon skins is an art. There are low lvl blues, greens and yellows that look awesome. I love the Dredge Canary focus, for example, and I never saw anyone else but my mesmer using it. But maybe my taste is bad and I should feel bad lol

I’m using LB + Axe/Warhorn at the moment, but I am not 100% happy with it. I might replace my Axe with a sword or maybe run a LB/GS ranger like I was running before. I don’t use my shortbow anymore.

What I really think that matters in GW2 is regularity. A person that plays for only two hour a day everyday can earn gold and good equipment faster than someone that plays for twelve hours on weekends only due to daily tasks like world bosses chests, dungeon rewards, laurels and ascended mat crafting.
I’m not complaining. I’m busy with college and internship, so I appreciate that I can get somewhere even not being able playing for many hours a day (except for Wednesdays and weekends).

The toy axe with the executioner outfit gives an unfair mobility advantage. But so far, other than the transmutation crystal racket they’ve got going that’s the only time Anet’s really crossed the line IMO.

Lol, it has a 600 range rush on 3s cooldown, even higher ranger if you have +movement speed or swiftness. Ive seen entire packs of gankers in WvW use it to catch up to and roll over unsuspecting victims. This item also single handedly removes Mesmer’s ooc mobility weakness, among other classes like necro and guard.

You’ll have to forgive me, I don’t play WvW. You’re saying they switch into town clothes, zoom up to people, and then switch back and attack?

They do. And they use the Blood Prince Staff for the skill that grants stealth.

I don’t think it is such a huge advantage and I do not agree with the OP, anyway.

We can celebrate when humans came to Tyria and the charr happily shared their food and land with them!
