We do not have a non-receipt problems with the BLTC. What I think has happened is that you have too many mails in your mailbox. If you would remove them all (taking off any desired items, of course), then I believe the delivery mails will “fall into” the box.

Once the facts are established, most of these matters are resolved within 24 hours. If there is a lot of required investigation, it could be a bit more, but many players have reported an account retrieval and restoration in a matter of just a few hours.

I’m afraid that guesting between EU and Non-EU servers is not possible, as explained here. If you’re a level 80, then I’m sure you have or can gain the wherewithal to make the transfer.

While I know it’s a popular thing to say, “Give us one free transfer” we actually gave virtually unlimited transfers for months after release, even while explaining that transfer eventually would incur a cost. I’m sorry if you missed that opportunity and the remedy is to choose a new world, and if “gem cost” is a factor, to choose one with a lower population.

You get an email when you buy. The code is provided in the email. Again, if you didn’t have the serial code, we could work with you to use other, alternative account ownership verification info. But the serial code is really, really good to have, so check your emails and save ’em if you have ’em.

If someone tried to authenticate access to your account, something is going on with your game account, email account, or something else where you’ve used a common password. This means that the RMT has access to your password, and the only thing keeping them out is your astute “None shall pass” when you got the authentication request.

And you’re correct, the fact that “they” know your credentials is scary, and it often does point to a Trojan or other malware.

Please change your password to something complex, and use it only for Guild Wars 2. That should help secure your account.

my friend bought the game today and we made an account and tried to add an authenticator to his account and when we went to sign in on the account it was not asking for it so we never made a character and he said forge the authenticator because it was giving us problems linking with his account so we deleted the app…. so he goes to play the game and it asks for the aunthenticator and he cannot unlink the authenticator because we never made a character (need character name along with serial code)

I understand your position, and I will share it. Buying gold is a very bad thing and it does cause harm to the game economy while potentially having a negative impact on individual players (through account thefts).

However, there is no way to “appeal” the decision made in relation to another account. Getting involved in discussions about broad policies would be counterproductive and time-consuming.

This is not a ban. This is a suspension. Many games will ban — that is, terminate -- your account. We have not.

But what you did is a very harmful thing to the game, the players, and our company. That was not a “private gold seller.” Almost without doubt, you made your purchase from a representative of a company that victimizes players. That means you supported a company that is directly involved in spamming advertising in our game. You supported a company that is directly involved in account thefts; they steal accounts to get items and to spam advertise in a vicious cycle of which players are the victim.

Instead of writing Support to tell them the wrong thing you did, you should have written and asked them to help you make your purchase.

Check your account — I believe you would be able to access the game now. If you wish to purchase gems in the future, please allow our support team to help you and do not support an RMT company.

Please IMMEDIATELY stop sending support tickets, and do not spam them again in the future. This was an error in judgment on your part, and it’s unfair that you are demanding help in various venues (mass number of tickets, forums) when other players with legitimate issues also need help.

Thanks. Perhaps you should sticky it? Because searching for bot hot spot didnt turn up anything. It might be good to link to it as well in the appropriate stickies about botting in the various subforums.

I have this concern that we have a lot of stickies in this forum. I think it could be helpful to sticky it, but that means even more at the top, and some folks’ eyes glaze over for stickies.

Can I get some feedback from others? Sticky the Bot Hot Spot, or just bump it up every few days, if it requires it?

As a player, I ask myself: What’s more important? New content? Fixed bugs? Or a remedy that applies to 0.00001% of the player base, and specifically those who breach the UA?

As a player, I vote for letting our devs work on more constructive things. Sure it’d be nice if the name displayed in its new form everywhere, and maybe it will someday. But in the short term, I think it’s just fine as it is, because what matters—what someone else sees—is corrected to be within the UA and Naming Policy guidelines.

You mention that your friend has submitted a support ticket. That is exactly the right thing for him to have done, so I’m sure he’s well on the way to a resolution of this situation.

As a reminder, the forums are designed for follow-ups (only after three days and in the specific 3 Days and Older thread) and for general questions of an account nature. But we specifically do not encourage a “submit-and-immediately-post” culture or for a friend to follow up on someone’s ticket unless it’s seriously delayed. Legitimate players are almost never actioned

Nice idea, sadly though since you refused to explain why bans happen (that refusal was clearly stated in the first of those two posts) then basically no one knows what they have to avoid doing: and patently those players that were falsely accused of cheating/RMTing didn’t do anything wrong, yet by not explaining it to them they obviously risk getting banned again when they do it again (not knowing that they shouldn’t).

I understand the question, because I think you simply want to know how to avoid the inconvenience of a possible (though highly unlikely) account action. Sort of a “preventative” question.

However, there is nothing a cheater, exploiter, or RMT worker would like more than to know “What is it I can avoid doing so that I do not get caught?”It’s clearly not in our interests — or the interests of legitimate players — to provide a tutorial called, “How to avoid getting busted for cheating or exploiting.” The “need to know” for that information is small because the vast majority of those who are actioned deserve the suspension or termination.

It’s like asking a traffic cop, “What streets should I avoid speeding on?” If you’re playing legitimately, the chances of being blocked in error are very, very small. And if that happens, the CS Team is available to restore the account very promptly.

That means that somebody has your login account info. Change your game password immediately, and change the password on your e-mail account too to be on the safe side.

The hackers might have obtained your login info in a number of ways, but the two most common methods are:

1. You have a keylogger on your machine. Do a virus scan of your PC.

2. You are using the same login and password on a third party site like GWGuru or a guild website, and THAT website was cracked and all the login info stolen. (It happened once to GWGuru during the GW1 days, and that was how I got hacked back in the day.) This is why it’s important to use a unique password for every single site you use.

This sums it up very well. Please follow the suggested steps to protect your account.

The filter is not intended to serve as a “License to Swear” for users who choose to use offensive language. It is presented to afford some protection against offensive language, but we still uphold the stated rules regarding chat.

I like this analogy that a player posted a few months ago:

“Cursing in public chat channels is like cursing at an Olive Garden. You’ll get kicked out if someone complains. “Their kids could cover their ears” is not a valid excuse. Guild chat is more like a backyard BBQ. Swear and drink all you like — it’s your party. Threaten someone, though, and that’s still assault. Yes, I know we’re adults and hear plenty of bad things. It wouldn’t hurt to act like one every once in a while."

You cannot reuse a code. We will not free up a used account in order for someone else to use it. Our game does not require a monthly fee, and development of the game (and future updates) is paid for by a legitimate purchase of a game. We simply cannot afford to allow “pass-along gaming” by a dozen people on a single account, any more than a movie allows a dozen people to view the movie with a single movie ticket.

Your friend should immediately contact the seller and demand a refund. They knowingly sold a code that cannot and will not be enabled and they need to refund his purchase price so he can purchase a legitimate, usable code.

Claiming an unused Guild name

Is it possible to claim an unused Guild name? I have been trying to create a guild with the name “Omega Squad” and i have never seen a guild with that name on the server (desolation) so my question is. After a time if a guild becomes inactive or dead, can the name come up again for people like me to claim it?

I think it’s important to point out that there is only one (1) Omega Squad guild in the entire game, across all servers. The fact that you have never seen it on your server doesn’t mean that it’s inactive at all; it could be active on any— or every— other server. That way, the same guild can have members on multiple servers.

Thank you Roy. That’s a comment I meant to include, and you’re absolutely right. Acronyms/handles can be shared — there may be several WIN guilds — but the actual guild name is unique.
