Hi, OP here – still not had any codes come through, or any reply to my support ticket.
Its been almost 12 hours now since the purchase was made…
I am unsure which situation applies to you: Did you not get a code? Or did you try to purchase with a PaySafe Card and the order didn’t process?
I have submitted a question about how the codes are going out. I am not sure if they’re going out in the order in which the purchase was made or in some other way. Will try to get that info for you.
My friend also made a purchase with iDEAL (Dutch way of payment), he hasn’t received any mail at all so far. He does have screenshots of his successful payment.
I am not aware of any issues with iDEAL. I have routed over a question on this.
Glad to hear the codes are coming through! We’re working on that PaySafe issue, too, and as you can see, the team is fully engaged on getting this all straighted out for you!
Thanks again for your patience.
If you purchased Guild Wars 2 during our 75% off sale, and if you had issues with receiving your serial code, please read [url=https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Serial-Code-missing-from-Sales-Email/page/2#post4729267[this thread[/url] for information on the situation.
In short, the issue has been addressed and your code will arrive soon.
If you attempted to use a PaySafe Card and found you could not complete your purchase, that issue is being investigated right now and we should have that corrected very shortly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding with this situation. We look forward to seeing you in the game very soon!

Update: We are aware that there is an acceptance issue with some PaySafe Cards. The team is working on this issue, as well, and hopes to have this corrected as soon as possible!
We apologize for this issue! There have been a series of internal e-mails flowing on this subject, as you can imagine, and getting this corrected has been our top priority. In fact, the issue is now addressed and if you made a purchase during the sale and did not receive a serial code, one will be sent to you within the next few hours. (You may receive the code in a matter of minutes, but we don’t want you to be concerned if it takes a bit of time.)
You do not need to submit a support ticket in order for this to get corrected for you. The system, now updated, will automatically generate your code and send it to you in a new e-mail.
Our apologies again for this inconvenience, along with our thanks for your support of our game!
Who is Grey?
I have a question out about music in general. We might hear more in the next few days, I’m not sure.
“something something CONFIRMED!”
can’t resist
~sigh~ I can’t win.
So glad you liked the sounds of the upcoming expansion.
The Revenant will be a really interesting profession, and I bet a lot of us will be making one right away! I’m not sure how close the Revenant is to a Ritualist — I think there are as many differences as similarities — but the dev team will have more information on that in the future so you can make your own appraisal.
Yes.
Ok, I’m sure my generous employers will give me a copy. But there are family members to consider, so I’ll be buying, too.
As an employee I hope you already have access to the alpha/beta and can play it before it is released. At least that is how it should work. It would make sense for as many Anet personnel as possible to play it before it is released.
Of course. But my favorite thing is playing the game with players, fans of the game, you know what I mean. So testing is one thing, but playing out in the big ol’ world with players from all around the globe will be another level of awesome.
I don’t know the answer to that question, but I feel sure it will be addressed when the development team does a detailed article on guild halls. (I’m so happy about guild halls — they’re going to be great!)
Agree with you Lindelle! That is one awesome-looking weapon!
<—- loves ravens.
Dangit… having you post that in this thread just got my hype up even more.
Hey now. I’m just being friendly (and expressing my love of ravens and my agreement with the beauty of that staff.)
I wouldn’t want you to think this was “something something CONFIRMED!”
Yes.
Ok, I’m sure my generous employers will give me a copy. But there are family members to consider, so I’ll be buying, too.
Thanks for the explanation, Uman! I just wasn’t sure that I was clearly understanding what you were suggesting and I felt it might be good to be sure about what you were saying. I appreciate the details.
Purchase information will be made clear in the future, as mentioned in the FAQ and here on the forums. We aren’t able to provide this information yet.
So glad that you’re excited about HoT. We’re thrilled to be able to announce it, and really looking forward to getting into the details of all those features we talked about today.
Reading the first post, let’s keep “gloat” and “miserable defeat” off the forums.
And on the PvP battleground, where they belong.
I can’t wait to see how badly they decimate GW1 lore.
Oh now, why so negative! I think the writing team has been very respectful of and inclusive of Guild Wars lore and I see no reason to doubt they’ll incorporate it into Heart of Thorns with equal care.
Agree with you Lindelle! That is one awesome-looking weapon!

I think this would help?

The hour long announcement of HoT at PAX.
Thanks for that link, too, Aidan!
As expressed in the FAQ:
Q: When will Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns launch?
A: We’ll announce the official launch date when we can. Check back at http://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com for the latest updates.
We’re as thrilled about HoT as you are — thanks for sharing your excitement!

No need to quote or name call, please. There were a lot of people who didn’t believe we’d ever do an XP, who believed that Heart of Thorns wouldn’t be one, or any combination of other beliefs. They were mistaken, but they were entitled to present their opinions then as they may present them now.
And I admit, I saw a post or three building up to announcement and thought how nice it would be to come back and say “Oh ye of little faith” or “Ya gotta believe in the team” or any number of other such things.
But I have risen above such base impulses and I invite you to do the same.
Because this is all a bit off-topic now, we’ll close.

Wait, Prince Rurik? So he can lead you on a merry chase again, all the while telling you touching stories of his youth?
As a boy I spent much time in these lands. Look at them now.
Yes, I admit it, I busted up at that! So glad you got the reference. Good times chasing Rurik through Ascalon, eh?
~ snip~
People without money can get it with gold (anet still get paid though, by people that would have gone through gold sellers)…
I may be reading this wrong, but we don’t make a cent from people who buy gold through gold sellers. The only transaction that benefits ArenaNet and funds our continued support of our games and the development of new content and the expansion pack is the sale of gems through the Black Lion Trading Company.
If I misread, I apologize. But I’d never want someone to believe that buying from any random real-money trading company somehow benefits us. Such transactions actually costs us money because we have to take out the account thieves related to RMT, remove the advertising spammers, spend time tracking and dealing with people illegally trying to profit from our content, and so forth.
Thanks for letting me clarify: If you want your gold purchase to benefit ArenaNet — to support our games, to fund future development — please purchase directly and only through the Black Lion Trading Company and/or our official Gem Store.
That was my thought originally. When their team was smaller in size, they could ship 1 complete expansion every 6 month with the GW1 model, with complete campains, professions, maps, new skills, etc.
This is a common misconception and, being a bit of an “unofficial historian” for ArenaNet, I want to post the actual release dates for our games and the one expansion we’ve released so far:
Then:
Your mileage may have varied by a few days if you pre-ordered a game or the expansion pack, but those are the official release dates and as you can see at no time did we have a release cadence of every six months.
Just setting the record straight.
can make a merger with this topic?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Too-many-Unanswered-Questions/first#post4723232
I was looking at all the questions and wondering what I could merge, but I feel that each should stand alone for now because I don’t want to cause too much confusion with merges of potentially unrelated comments or questions.
We may be able to come up with a better format for questions, but as I mentioned, the “deep dives” into the features will start up in a few weeks and those will give a lot of desired info!
Gathering questions may not be a bad idea, but I can tell you that until we release the “deep dives” into each feature, there won’t be a lot that we can answer in response to specific questions. Still and all, a thread that tries to gather things together is perfectly fine with me!
P.S. No worries on the sex/gender thing, JoshuaRAWR, it’s a common misconception and a lot of people refer to me as “he” until I set them straight. If I bother to do. I mean, end of the day it really doesn’t matter too much either way in an Internetz sense.
Wait, Prince Rurik? So he can lead you on a merry chase again, all the while telling you touching stories of his youth?
Gaile are you allowed to tell me if we will be getting extra character slots with the expansion, like in GW1, or will we need to purchase them through the gem store?
I don’t know the answer to that, sorry. But I will add it to my “question list” that I’m building.
Guys, you’re free to speculate all you want about release dates. What I ask you to do is not post a speculative release date as a fact. Don’t put “XX release date” without some sort of indication that it’s your opinion, guess, best estimate based on ABC reasons, or whatever.
We will give a date, and until WE give a date, all dates are speculative, so please make that clear to avoid confusion. Thank you!
Gaile, are you able to say when some answers will be forthcoming? Like, “this week we’ll start answering your questions,” as opposed to “in the time before the expansion, we’ll answer all your questions.” After all, we could be a year away from HoT.
I’m sure some systems are still under development (guild halls had a lot of line art in the trailer) and final answers cannot be provided, but it would be oh so nice to know when we can start learning more.
I believe you will start to learn more in early February.
can you please clarify if each account requires an expansion purchase?
Debating on getting an char expansion slot or a second account.
Since separate accounts are not (and cannot be) linked, one expansion cannot cover multiple accounts. So yes, each Guild Wars 2 account that you wanted to access Heart of Thorns would require a purchase. If you had multiple accounts, you would not be required to purchase an expansion for each account. But… I think you’re gonna want to.
You guys are asking really good questions, and I wish I had the answers, but I don’t. We are going to start up on a lot of “deep dives” in the future, and I’m going to gather questions from the forums over the weekend and pass them along!
Hold on there Gaile. You gonna have have hard time with all the hype now! (/me sends a cup of a virtual hot chocolate to keep up the spirit)
Seriously, this is an extremely happy time for me! I love being able to talk about even more things on the forums and with fans in the game and, well, I’m just stoked about all this and delighted that y’all are in the know about Heart of Thorns!!
~ sips hot chocolate gratefully ~
I just want you to be sure to understand that I’m just saying that I don’t know the answer to this. We can see that you would like to know more and we’ll try to get that info when it’s possible to do so.
There wasn’t this level of detail today because there were so many topics to talk about! However, we’ll have a lot of details about Masteries in the future and I feel sure your questions will be answered then.
That’s a good question. I’ll add that to my list of things to ask about, although I should say we won’t have answers to everything immediately.
Glad you’re excited about the announcement!
I want it! What will you accept as payment? My wife or is it a cash only sort of deal?
I’m just putting my relatives on Ebay, I’m all ready to pre-order
I love your enthusiasm, but I’d suggest you keep your family members close. (And your guildies closer. No I did not just say that. )
There will be a demo at PAX East and we look forward to sharing with you there!
We will be posting comprehensive details about each feature, and I believe you’ll get the info you need when that happens in the future. You can certainly follow up on that “deep dive” with questions if they are not covered in the article.

I can’t stop watching the trailer, never been so hyped up for an expansion before.

Ok this helps a lot, :s though this should be right on the main website not buried in faqs. This is pretty important value proposition stuff right here that’ll determine whether lots of people will get this expansion.
You’re suggesting a link to this FAQ from the HoT website? I’ll pass that along, thanks.
I think you’ll find helpful info here: https://help.guildwars2.com/home
However, I see your point: You are asking, “Do I need to purchase the expansion to continue playing Guild Wars 2?” The answer to that is “No.” You can continue to play Guild Wars 2 with the expansion or without. You can play Guild Wars 2 and add the expansion when it is released or later, if that’s your choice.
I’m sorry! We’d never be cruel to our amazing players. We really will give the date as soon as we can.
As Colin mentioned, we’ll be going into the news about Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns starting very soon. I think you’ll find that these “deep dives” will give you a lot of helpful details that will answer your questions.
Here’s some info for you:
