I demand 4 arms so I can use double two handed weapons at once. They’re not two handed if you can use them with one hand, by definition.

lol. wut. A 2-handed sword is still a 2-handed sword, regardless of if you use one hand to grip it. A 2-handed staff is still a 2-handed staff, even if I only hold it in one hand.

Or with no hands. Why do we need hands to wield weapons at all? There’s freakin’ magic everywhere! Can’t we just have 20 greatswords spinning around us at all times?

I like your style! I’d pay some massive money to wield 40 longbows and be able to shoot “Point Blank” with every single one of them.

It’s literally just a place to go pick up some skins if you unlocked them in GW1, it hs absolutely no purpose beyond that. Maybe ANet will add to it eventually, but it’s unlikely.

^Yup. It’s just a place to go when you have nostalgia from Guild Wars 1 or if you want to pick up armor/weapon skins.

I gave up on getting a precursor. It literally felt like I’d never get one from the Mystic Forge, so I stopped feeding crap into it. 3k+ hours into a game, you’d expect to have looted at least one precursor, yet some accounts have a “Curse” on them (like mine) where you will never be able to loot anything good.

My preference is to sit my characters in Hirathi Hinterlands at the beginning of the Ulgoth chain. From level 43 – 80, I run it once a day. Especially if you have a birthday buff it’s good for one level a day, and often completes dailies, or nearly so. It’s a pretty fun chain in general. Yes it’s doing the same thing, but at least it’s doing events and not map clearing, which can get pretty tedious at times.

One level a day? Ouch.

Even on my main character, where I didn’t explore at all, I hit 80 in less than a week and a half.

Exploring is probably the easiest way to level, even though I hate it.

Regardless of whether you like the changes or not, none of them are a good reason to leave the game.

None of them are significant enough.

The only valid reason anyone has for leaving is that there aren’t enough changes, not that there are too many.

^ I agree. The only reason people are quitting is because Anet hypes new releases up so much, and then the release content ends up being dumb. The Crit chances are one example of that. Anet hyped up all these new things that are supposed to be “Great”, and the second thing they release is the crit changes which nobody likes. If you’re a class that relies heavily on crit chance/damage, I could see why you would be angry.

PVP only armors finally coming to PVE?

I’ve never known how one unlocks PvP skins other than getting them randomly in achievement chests. I’d love the voodoo one, but have no clue how to get it (and if it means doing a lot of sPvP, compared to the .. zero .. I’ve done, well. I don’t think that’s going to happen unless being totally lame and failing every fight can still get me the skin).

Yeah, all of the SPvP skins are RNG-based. I’ve gotten completely ugly armor skins the past 50 times I’ve opened a chest, so you’re not missing out on much.

Anyone who has an Elementalist has broken all their armor x100. I’ve heard of “Paper” classes in games, but the Elementalist is like a piece of tissue.

But yeah, every dungeon, my team would tell me to “Tone your damage down a bit” because I would aggro an enemy and it would stick to me like glue while I beat the crap out of it and vice versa.

I am not worried about this being an Aprils fool joke. It would be the biggest middle finger to players since the ending of ME3

These are things back in BETA they were supposed to have… this is finally starting to bring GW2 into what it was suppossed to be at the beginning. They would literaly have people hate their company for years and years to come… Bioware closed its doors soon after, anet would not risk it.

Here are the people who are kittened off by the change so far:
-dual legendary holders, + other expensive exotics
-people who like to mix-match town clothes
-people who bought multiple dyes
-people who absolutely hate anything involving the gem store

The first three I can get behind, the latter I have no sympathy for because they think GW2 should be a charity.

As with all changes, there will be people who will be negatively affected. And they are more than likely to be vocal about their displeasure.

Either way, these changes are for the good of the game – it’s players and creators.

I wouldn’t hate the gem store so much if the game didn’t revolve around the stupid thing. “Oh, you want to change your appearance because Guild Wars 2’s end-game involves finding your perfect look, which requires you to change clothes repeatedly? Here, have these transmutation stones for $5. Oh, wanna change your look again? 5 more dollars. Oh, again? 5 dollars….”

All of the new armor is released through the gem store. (Excluding back pieces and weapons, which don’t count).

All of the good stuff is released through the gem store. Permanent pick-axes, axes, and other permanent stuff.

Guild Wars 2 isn’t a charity, but I don’t agree with how Anet is running their gem-store either. Guild Wars 1 was doing perfectly fine with just a few costumes, and you didn’t have to spend 5 dollars every time you wanted to change clothes.

[VOTE] Is Guild Wars 2 heading a good way?

Galtrix.7369

As I continue to play this game, it’s still painfully obvious that Anet has no idea what they’re doing a lot of the time, which can be gamebreaking. I know, I know, you want me to prove it. Here are some examples:

1. The implementation of Ascended armor. Anet originally planned for Exotic armor pieces to be the last obtainable armor, and the strongest, but threw away that idea after practically 99% of the playerbase had full exotic sets. Thus, they created Ascended.

2. Secondly, Anet decided that Magic Find on gear was not the best idea, so they changed it so it’s now separate from gear, and is now account bound.

3. They created a game without a trinity, which is fine, but they did it in a way that made berserkers the only viable option for PvE. Anyone who wants to be tanky or anyone that wants to heal can go play a different game.

4. The most recent example is that Anet fails to realize that too much hype leads to disappointment. They just hyped up the April 2014 Feature Pack, and what did they immediately do afterward? The second thing that’s unlocked is the “Critical Damage Changes” which everyone despises with every fiber of their being. Boom, they just lost a bunch of players because of that. That made no sense as a business decision. At all. If I had hyped up a release like that, the release would have nothing but good things in it.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Galtrix.7369

Just to clarify, are you asking for the weapons you wield to be in your left hand or are you asking for the skill animations to be on your left?

For weapons, all Anet would have to do is allow main-hand weapons to go in either hand, which isn’t difficult at all.

Spell animations are entirely different, as they would have to go through and redo all of the actions, which is difficult.

Personally, I would change it.

I would move it to a different location, and make it a much larger, grander version of Lion’s Arch. I would make it a city worthy of praise and awe. The old Lion’s Arch was barely a town, much less a city.

I’ll be very disappointed if they just decide to rebuild it the same as it was before, seeing as how it isn’t an optimal location for the best defense, and it obviously can’t stand up to another invasion.

Nerfing Warrior regen...why Anet!? WHY!?

in Warrior

Galtrix.7369

Sorta ranting…

So I’m reading the new stuff coming up for April’s patch release…hoping and praying to all that is sacred that this patch is an April’s Fool joke…why nerf Warrior regen…and at the same time…I love playing a thief and all, but why buff them with more survivability….a decent thief with a decent Mesmer is darn near unstoppable in WvW…so much stealths and backstabs demolishes people as is…a roaming thief – if they know what they are doing can escape almost any situation with stealth and a shortbow…just saying…

Not saying to nerf the thiefs, but making them stronger via increased survivability is not cool…

what are your opinions on this?

Translation: "Why is Anet nerfing my main? They’re not allowed to nerf my main class, because then I’ll only be 3x as good as other classes instead of 5x as good. Also, why buff thieves? They’re like the strongest paper class I’ve ever seen, even though they need a mesmer, an elementalist, and a guardian to keep them alive for more than 2 seconds.

Not saying I want thieves to be nerfed, but why let thieves live longer than 2 seconds by giving them more survivability? That’s not fair."

Why Do We Hate Rangers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

In Guild Wars 1, Rangers were labeled as “The jack of all trades”, meaning that Rangers could do everything any other class could do, but less proficiently.

It’s the same in Guild Wars 2. If you build pure berserker, you’ll do less damage than other berserkers. If you build pure tank, you’ll be less tanky than other tanks. This is why I encourage most if not all Rangers to mix their stats, and not build like a glass cannon or a tank… because Rangers are meant to mix-and-match stats, and that is where they shine.

Galtrix.7369

I decided to log in after an 8 month break, and I immediately regretted it. Right when I got in I couldn’t find a single person for about half an hour (I’m assuming they’re all doing the LS). So I went to Lion’s Arch to find about 10 people trying, and failing, to defeat this big robotic boss. I’m on Tarnished Coast, for heaven’s sake…. one of the most populated servers there is.

And if that wasn’t enough to turn me around, I disconnected 5 times within the 45+ minutes that I was logged in. When I was disconnecting 8 months ago, I sent a report to Anet complete with my computer specs, what I was doing when I dc’d, my graphical settings, and the message I received after I disconnected. They haven’t fixed it 8 months later. In fact, it’s become more prevalent because now I disconnect every 5 minutes instead of every half hour.

Tell your friend it’s not worth it. Unless he likes bugs that have been around for a year without being fixed, glitches that hinder progress in the Living Story, and frequent disconnections, then it’s not worth it.

Player Marriage

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

Sorry, but hell no. There is absolutely no way that I’d ever want developers’ time wasted on this.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but on another game I used to play… e-dating was a prevalent issue that commonly led to friendships and gameplay ruined from people becoming overly-attached and depressed and in many cases, scammed/hacked. If it’s encouraged on a game there are many potential drawbacks to worry about.

Ever hear about “catfishing”? You’d be surprised at how common this is across the internet— especially on roleplaying games.

OP I’m not insinuating that you have these negative intentions, but please keep this out of GW2. I don’t want to see the same disasters from Runescape seep their way into here.

I completely agree. Runescape’s immersion was ruined for me because every 5 minutes or so in Lumbridge, some poor sap would waddle over to me and ask me to date them, probably because they saw my shiny armor. The sad thing was, I would always ask how old they were before I muted them, and the age range was always between 7-15.

No MMORPG should ever have a “Marriage” option, in my opinion. You play games to escape from marriage and the trials of life, not to “enjoy” them in a game as well.

RNG and Grind in GW2 is not that bad

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

No. No. Just no. A thousand no’s. I’ve played WoW. I’ve played Forsaken World. I’ve played Perfect World. I’ve played the grindiest of the grindiest games. I’ve practically played almost every MMO out there except for some of the lesser-known Chinese farming games.

Let me tell you right now, Guild Wars 2 has THE absolute worst RNG in any MMORPG EVER. Guild Wars 2 is not as grindy as most MMO’s, but the RNG in GW2 is unbelievably terrible. I would rather have Wow’s RNG system. I would rather have Perfect World’s RNG system (even though it is pretty bad, GW2’s is still worse).

Over 90% of my life has been dealing with MMORPG’s and games in general. You cannot convince me that Guild Wars 2 actually has decent RNG.

Ok really you played FW and claiming its better? Have you even tried in FW to gather some materials to make high grade potions and armour? Like really? The drop rate on one of the items to make accessories is even lower than Teq ascended weapon drop. On top of that there is RNG on your crafting! So you need to make over 1000 items (which requires 3 of that one item so you need 3000 of them) just to make an item worth selling or using. Like dude you did not even look at the RNG in FW did you? There is RNG every where in that game. You apparently did 0 crafting in FW which means you hardly even made it past noob stage. PW is even worse than FW on every point.

To be honest, Forsaken World was almost identical to Perfect World, so I uninstalled after about an hour of playing. Yes, I have crafted in Perfect World. I reached level 91 in PW, and was an apothecary. The mats were difficult to get, but at no point when I was playing did I think, “Wow, this thing is just not worth that amount of effort”.

Fast forward to the time I bought Guild Wars 2 and there are still impossible things to obtain. Giant Eyes, precursors, and ascended drops are a few of them. All I had to do was look at the numbers and I said to myself, “Wow, this isn’t worth any effort at all. It would take me years to farm that crap”.

Yes, there is RNG everywhere in WoW, Perfect World, and other games, but it’s BETTER. It’s so much better than in Guild Wars 2.

Do you know that at one point I was farming in the champ train for about 10 hours a day? I did that for a month and got absolutely nothing noteworthy. Then I go to run a dungeon that I didn’t even want to do, and an ascended weapon drops with some unwanted stats. I laughed and deleted it almost 3 seconds after I picked it up. Right after that I stopped farming because I instantly knew that the RNG is screwy in this game, and I never farmed since then. 10 hours a day for about 27-30 days. Can you imagine that? And I only obtained about 14 exotics, which sold for about 2 gold each. Yay, 2 gold. (sarcasm). In any other MMORPG, I would’ve obtained a godly item or something at least worthwhile that would’ve put me ahead of the rest of the community. Not in GW2.

RNG and Grind in GW2 is not that bad

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

To everyone complaining about Random Number Generator (RNG) and grind in Guild Wars 2 (GW2): You guys need to play more Massively Multiplayer Online Roly Playing Games (MMORPG). Lets take a Free-to-Play (FTP) game such as Forsaken World (FW) for instance. To get any where in the game you need certain items to progress. The RNG in that game is so bad that many people use the in-game botting system to farm the items that they need. Basically meaning your character needs to be logged in for days on end (24/7) just to get items that you need.

World of Warcraft (WoW) a subscription based MMORPG that makes you spend weeks to months performing raids to get best-in-slot gear. This is repeated often for new best-in-slot gear is added often. During these raids it is not guaranteed that you will get the piece you need. Some raids you can only perform once a week making you wait for another chance (hence chance) at getting the piece you need. To get other items in the game you need to compete with other players (as drops are not shared between the players) to grind to get items since drop rates are low to force you to grind.

Perfect World (PW) is similar to FW (made by the same company) but has even worse grind and drop rates to the point you have to kill monsters for hours or even days just to get items for a single quest. You basically sit there for hours killing a specific mob in a specific area for hours to months (depends on how lucky you are) just hoping you will get that one item.

In GW2, precursors are pretty common as evidence by the number of people with legendaries in LA. Also, money is easy to obtain in GW2 where as in WoW, FW, and PW money takes forever to obtain. WoW, FW, and PW require you to grind for long periods of time inorder to obtain enough money to buy anything useful.

So if you want to complain go ahead, but I suggest you play Forsaken World and Perfect World first and make the comparison. By saying GW2 is grindy or has terrible RNG makes most MMOs look like bloody nightmare. By saying GW2 is grindy or has terrible RNG you are making a comparison of a form. If you want to say GW2 is grindy which MMORPG has less grind? Which MMORPG has better RNG?

WoW, FW, and PW are worse on these two points so if your making a comparison with these games you are insane! Just for your information I have never gotten a precursor in 1500+ hours of playing Guild Wars 2.

No. No. Just no. A thousand no’s. I’ve played WoW. I’ve played Forsaken World. I’ve played Perfect World. I’ve played the grindiest of the grindiest games. I’ve practically played almost every MMO out there except for some of the lesser-known Chinese farming games.

Server Population and PvE

Anet obviously doesn’t think population is an issue, even though it is. It really, really is a problem.

Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-14-you-thought-that-was-it-for-guild-wars-2

Concern: I hate being on an underpopulated/rubbish server! We were rubbish in the world-versus-world league.

“Population-wise, we’re doing great,” insisted Johanson. “We’re very happy with where we’re at. Six months ago to now, it’s a very steady, very very healthy population.”

I’m laughing my head off right now. It’s like they’re only looking at the top three servers. They couldn’t care less about the rest. I’m glad I left when I did. At first, I was planning to come back after 5 to 10 months, but after reading this quote, I have absolutely no interest in coming back at all. This will be the last time I post on these forums, so I’ll make it count.

Push for a server merge. That is the BEST solution. That is the EASIEST solution. Keep posting about server merges, and maybe, just maybe, they will finally listen. They don’t think it’s a problem, so make it one. Post about it every time you get the chance. Encourage others to post about it on the forums when you see absolutely nobody in the world. It bugs me to no end that a company would blatantly ignore a problem that so many people see right in front of their faces.

Maybe some of you would like to continue playing with a dead world, but as for me, I have no interest in playing an MMORPG like a single-player RPG.

The Ranger was god-mode in Guild Wars 1. I could take on 2-4 people in PvP.

The Ranger is a meat-shield for all of the other classes in Guild Wars 2. So, it’s not completely useless. I can throw myself at the enemy and hope I don’t die in one hit.

The Gate of Madness server has been dead for a long time. It literally died 4 months after GW2 was released, and the population never got better. I stayed and put up with the server for another 3 months before I finally transferred to a bigger, better server, and then quit the game shortly after.

Here’s the best solution ever: Merge. the. freaking. servers.

My entire guild begged for server merges. Heck, the entire server was begging for server merges. GoM’s WvW was suffering so badly that people didn’t even participate anymore. Nowadays, it looks like GoM is doing better in WvW, but I can’t even fathom what the people in Devona’s Rest are feeling right now. They’ve been at the bottom of WvW since the beginning.

Just merge the servers. That’s the only solution at this point.

Easy. There are two answers to this.

1. To appease the hardcore MMORPG players by giving them a sense of progression.

Interestingly enough, somebody over at mmorpg.com (a fairly popular MMO website) just recently started a thread asking players which MMO most disappointed them. Not the worst game, but the MMO that least lived up to player expectations for it and least fulfilled it’s potential. Tons of players posted their choice, and GW2 was the runaway winner … even beating out SWTOR.

The only thread I could find that was related to GW2 was this:

http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/403589/page/2

I’m actually sad to say that I agree with most of the people that are hating on GW2. Mainly the part where someone said something like: “They took everything you liked from Guild Wars 1, threw it out the window, and then turned the game into a puzzle jumper”. That was brilliantly said. I pretty much only played this game for the Jumping Puzzles and the dynamic events, but when I was bored with those, I deleted my characters and uninstalled without a second thought.

That website is a troll website. You realize that almost every person on that website doesnt play mmo’s or hasn’t in years?

MMORPG didn’t like Gw2 from the very start. That websites sole purpose in life is to troll mmo’s that are running.

Imagine the reviews on Amazon.com or Newegg.com of people who just post negative reviews because they have a grudge even though it’s obvious they never owned that product. That’s the entire user base of mmorpg.com.

I know. That’s why I said, “I agree with most”. I ignored the poor saps who obviously never played the game, or who obviously just hate on it because they want it to fail.

Though, it’s not fair to judge an entire group for the actions of just a few people. Some people generally wanted to enjoy Guild Wars 2, but just didn’t find any fun in the game… and it shows in their posts.

Suggestion: Rarely killed mob = better loot

Whether it be every couple of weeks, every couple of months, people would still find a way to farm them and ridicule the people that want to do it differently.

Fortunately, the world of Tyria is so gigantic that this is very hard to do. Especially when, in order to pooh-pooh the people who want to do it differently, the farmer would have to be in the zone watching his crop. He or she can’t play traffic cop without being at the scene. Which means that person isn’t actually farming at that time.

Would a true farmer take a break from his valuable farming time to police every single monster in Tyria? Is that even possible?

-Matt

I agree, it would be very difficult to do, but that doesn’t stop them from trying. lol, the farmers in this game are so hardcore and obsessed that I wouldn’t be surprised if they posted a guard and took shifts guarding the bosses until the time that they wanted to kill them. Then they would gather everyone they could and say, “auto-attack only so everyone has a chance to loot it”. Or the guard would spam in Gchat or mapchat, “They’re killing my boss, come quick!”

Other than that, I like this idea. It could just be that I came from WoW and expect the worst of people because people farmed in WoW like it was a professional sport. They found ways of farming that I never even dreamed of. Their organization was too good… almost scary good.

I like this idea, and I would take it a step further. The longer a champion goes without being killed the better its loot gets. Every couple of days if it hasn’t been killed it gets upgraded. This would get people out into the world working on all sorts of champions.

The flip side would be a champion that is killed several times in quick succession would just drop whites and maybe a blue.

You’re not thinking like a champ farmer. A hardcore champ farmer, like myself, would abuse that by setting specific times to kill the champions. I would announce it on a website built specifically for this, or I could just announce when the entire server would kill those champions. Anyone who interrupted the farming would immediately be ridiculed and insulted (Not from me, but from the obsessed, farm-crazy people). Whether it be every couple of weeks, every couple of months, people would still find a way to farm them and ridicule the people that want to do it differently.

The Skinny Privilege of GW2

I find it disgusting that you cant make a character that is more reflective of the vast majority of MMO players. Whats wrong with us REAL people wanting to stay somewhat connected to our character by having it reflect my REAL body. No one has the six pack green abs of the sylvari character in game. I find this irresponsible and I will NOT be allowing my children to play this game until its fixed.

I have a six-pack. Not a green six-pack of course, but still. The sylvari is actually the closest to my body type that any MMORPG has ever gotten.

Anyway… you’re playing a fictional game set in a fictional world. Chances are that the characters aren’t going to reflect your body. They fight large monsters, they have to run everywhere they go, and they’ve gone through 80 levels of training to get their body type so muscular and hardened. You on the other hand live in a modern day world where you sit at a computer (probably) and play games all day. You have a car to get around without using many muscles. You probably don’t have to fight with monsters all day long (unless your wife asks you to make dinner).

MMO’s had bulky, muscular characters that did not reflect my body type at all. World of Warcraft was one of those MMO’s. Did I complain? No, because of the reasons I listed above. Plus (And I’m not saying this to be rude at all) I would rather not have a character walk up to me and he takes up 85% of my screen with his size. I wouldn’t be able to see the Black Lion Trader’s when all the people crowd around them.

In Game Voice chat coming soon?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Speak for yourself. I can type over 100 words per minute and can type a sentence or two in the time that it takes for my skills to cooldown, and I still won’t be hit by a boss.

As it stands, I could literally stand there at any World boss and type all I want…. it’s easy.

Many mmorpg’s have attempted to implement an in-game voice-chat system, but people had problems hearing other players, the chat would drop out randomly, and they were clunky systems to begin with. I don’t foresee an in-game voice-chat system ever.

“1-4 exotics per 2.5 hours” – is this just me – or is this just a liddle bit too high for a single player droprate ? If i remember correctly, my droprate would be 1 exotic per 5-8h.

Even that is a really high droprate. I played for about 2,000 hours and almost right at the 2,000 hour mark I got my first exotic ever…. and it was a piece of garbage. This was about 7 or 8 months ago though, so it may have changed.

Would it be possible for a Dev to comment on this idea? Could it possible? Maybe if enough players were behind it? Completely out of the question?

If you don’t get a dev response within a couple of days, make sure you email this suggestion to them. I really do not want this idea to fall through the cracks like so many other great ideas that Anet never took the time to read.

Emailing them would give them the opportunity to explain their opinion of the idea without the entire population of the GW2 forum scrutinizing everything they say.

[Interview] Living Story Plans Changing

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

1. “The thing that we haven’t decided yet,” he went on, “is what form that type of content will take. Is it right for Guild Wars 2 for that kind of boxed expansion? Is it right for that to be something we add, live, through storylines in the game? Is that something we want to sell through our in-game store? There are a lot of different options available to us.”

That is utterly pathetic if they choose to release content through the gem-store. As it stands, I would not pay even a couple of dollars for that content. Not to be rude, but it’s just how I feel.

2. "By its conclusion, Season One will have been developing for 15 months. What ArenaNet wanted to create was a complex plot that kept people theorising and speculating in the same way a show like A Game of Thrones (and the book series A Song of Fire and Ice beyond that) does – to have “people realise what the power of having a video game that can tell a story like a television show is”.

The living story has felt like nothing but a jumble of senseless, random events that happen to include Scarlet in all of them. I don’t get how they can even compare the Living Story in GW2 to A Game of Thrones. I would pick A Game of Thrones every. single. time. There might as well be no story at all in GW2. It wouldn’t matter.

3. “Population-wise, we’re doing great,” insisted Johanson. “We’re very happy with where we’re at. Six months ago to now, it’s a very steady, very very healthy population.”

At this point, I can’t even comprehend how he can be saying this. Does he have tunnel vision and is only looking at the top servers? Is he secretly blind and goes off the information that people tell him to say? (Not to be rude, I’m just making a point.) 70% of the servers are empty, (very rough estimate based on personal observations), and people are eternally insisting on server merges because they can never find anyone. It’s like they’re living in a dream world where everything is butterflies, unicorns, and rainbows.

4. Concern: When is Guild Wars 2 going to get serious about eSports?

“It is, slowly. There was the first global championship at PAX last year, ArenaNet now broadcasts a player-versus-player show twice a week, and the prestigious Electronic Sports League has finally picked up Guild Wars 2.”

Oh. Now I know they’re living in a dream world.

Now that I’m done with my rant, there is some good information in here that I’m excited about. Mainly the new events.

“Johanson told me everything that will happen, and the four patches coming early this year – 21st January, 4th February, 18th February and 4th March – will bring about an end to excite even a bystander. Tyria really won’t be the same after it, and what happens at the end will also set up Season Two.”

This excites me, but I would prefer Anet escapes the dream-world before attempting this, as there are many problems that are apparently not considered “problems”. (No offense, but the players obviously have a different view of problems than the company)

This is a perfect idea. Especially the Lion’s Arch Library. I really, really like that idea. This would immediately resolve the wiki issue and it would strengthen the sense of community within GW2. If this idea gets implemented, you deserve a medal.

I really think you should email this idea to Anet. It definitely has a shot at making it into a patch and I would really like to see this in game.

Zerker nerfed, allow us to swap asc gear

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

Like Fenrir said, none of the above. A lot of people make the mistake that if something is good, the only solution to make it more fair is to nerf it. That’s not the case. The reason zerkers are allowed to roam around the world basically naked without any protection (Health, armor, healing) is because the bosses and other monsters do not hand out many condition effects to players. And the condition damage they actually do give to players is very minimal.

One of two things needs to happen for this game to become fair.

1. Enemies need way more condition damage and they need to do condition damage often.

2. Support needs to be buffed. And buffed really hard, because it absolutely sucks right now.

It would be wise to do both of these things instead of just one, but I’d settle for one at this point.

Other classes are boring

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

After completing my warrior , getting all the good stuff like legendary and t3 . I tryed to make other classes but I couldnt. Deleted them all around lvl 3. I have tryed different weapon sets in PvP with various builds but its just so dull . I have a thief and those are the only classes I can play .

Thief and warrior are both fast, short cooldowns , very spammy and thats the playstyle I like . When I made a guard it felt like in slowmotion . I made a ranger … I couldnt stand the weakness of ranged weapons . Mesmer was kind of cool but I am a terrible mesmer so I got stomped over and over again.

I cannot play ele because I am too lazy to reach the f1,2,3,4 buttons and the lagg would also make it worse. And the other classes are just meh.

Note: In guild wars 1, I got every class to max level except ritualist and mesmer . I liked them all equally ( warrior and assassin a bit more of course) . All of them had expensive weapons and armors . My ranger , yes the ranger had a storm bow , one of the most expensive weapons back in the day .

But in gw2 the classes feel the same and boring . What’s the difference between warrior’s sword skills , thief, mesmer, guard, ranger? None! All of them have some sort of spammy evading attack and a gap closer . There is 0 difference between sword skills across all the classes. Why would I play anything else besides from warrior and thief ? There’s no reason anyway.

Seriously anet , its time to add new weps and skills . In gw1 they felt all different . The build diversity was amazing . Even my warrior here in gw2 has only 1 viable PvE build and 2 viable pvp builds. And I cant even change the weapon skills…. Why are we so restricted ? The balance is already terrible , dont be afraid to add new skills

well when you start with easy mode, usually everything else is just too hard to get into. after playing thief in wvw at level 80 i was seriously taken aback at how much easier it was to play and deal damage with than both my engineer and necromancer(preferred classes) then after going back to my preferred classes i realized just how underpowered they were compared to warrior and thief.

I agree. I leveled an Elementalist to level 80 and then created a Warrior a few months later. I roflstomped everything up until level 50ish when I decided that it was TOO easy and I wouldn’t have fun playing the Warrior. Went back to my Elementalist and it was really hard to get back into.

Server Population discrepancies?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

I don’t expect to go dormant for six months; that long a break in any MMO for me generally means I’m never coming back. But if I did, especially in GW2 which is billed as a game you can pick up again as if you never took a break, I’d darn well better be able to return to my server.

What you suggest might work if it was a) free and b) no server said “full, you cannot be here.”

That’s part of what I’m getting at is why count dormant accounts of people who have probably moved on and don’t plan to play the game in the foreseeable future, and of course reinstating your account and establishing your home server would be free.

I’m with you. I haven’t logged in for a few months and I don’t plan to play for a very long time (If at all). Counting my account as dormant wouldn’t hurt my feelings in the least. I don’t understand the need to count dormant accounts. The only reason Anet would count them is if they intentionally want all the servers to look full or at least somewhat populated. There is no other reason for them to count dormant accounts.
