As a Pve ’er my main problem with the game is how broken Risk vs. Reward is. The fact that you make equal if not more money running in a champ train over running the most difficult content (arah/48+ fractals) blows my mind.
We need INSTANCED elite content as well. PvE is way to easy right now.
I feel that way as well. I feel like no logical thought went into the rewards in this game at all. The rewards should progress as the difficulty progresses, but the rewards are a jumbled mess of confusion. The Living Story should provide incentive to play it all the way through, and not just provide a minipet that I will never use. As of the moment, there is absolutely no incentive for me to do anything but champ farm because it is the fastest way to earn rewards.
I agree with most, if not all, of what he said. He did leave some very important aspects out which I think need to be addressed though.
Rewards is one of them. I feel absolutely no joy at completing a 3 hour-long event because all I get at the end is one ugly backpiece or a minipet that I will never click on. Rewards were screwed up big time, and it was made worse because all Anet did was add more mediocre rewards. It’s not the quantity of rewards that people want. It’s quality.
More, better looking armor is another aspect. I can’t even describe my feelings when I first bought the game after it had been out for 3 months, logged in, checked the TP, and saw such a limited amount of armor. I realize that it was only 3 months in, but it has now been nearly a year and still almost no armor has been added. Ascended armor is coming, but it literally looks like something my kid would draw at school with crayons.
Everything else he says is spot-on.
If Anet adds new traits/skills/weapons to the already extremely unbalanced system, I may have to claw my computer to death. Adding even more unbalanced stuff to an already unbalanced game does not all of a sudden make it balanced. In fact, it makes it really difficult to balance previous issues while new issues arrive in boatloads. Sorry, but if Anet adds new skills or something of the sort before they balance everything decently, I will renew my wow subscription.
So I have been trying GW2 for the first time over the last two weeks.
I have tried every class and every race except the salad people. I can see where the game has it’s strengths and weaknesses. Granted, two weeks doesn’t give you a huge perspective.
The only class that I seem to be able to play at all is the Guardian. To me, this is a major disappointment.
I have been an MMO player for years, from Ultima Online to Everquest, Star Wars, RIFT and WoW, I have played a lot. I used to raid high end content in WoW a few years back, but now I think I am becoming “that guy”. The guy who is mediocre or bad at gaming.
Guild Wars 2 should be in my wheelhouse. I should be excelling at the game. Instead, I find myself dying every night at least a half a dozen times. The game has continued to be frustrating to me. Meanwhile, I am surrounded by a really nice community that seems to be doing well.
So what if you find that you are “that guy”. Is Guild Wars 2 a much more difficult MMO than the others? Or am I at the end of my hobby?
I’m bias with this game to the negative, so bare with me.
The game is good on some levels but compared to many MMO’s it lacks Depth (and longevity for me).
I found leveling alts up to be the only real flavor i enjoyed, sadly the game does not like my play style much. For what its worth the classes are all very similar to each other so there isn’t very much in them.
Sure Ranger has pets but they don’t work very well etc, so we have DPS on all classes traits and skills do very little (ran around for months with no traits on my Engi made zero difference to my game play) and the skills are all similar on the classes most get a version of each others skills..
The content has become steadily harder even PvE over the past year to appease the complaints but its made it a lot harder on new players, open world is just a leveling tool events are all for lv 80 and the grind has taken over most aspects that were fun.
Achievements are generally grind based etc jump puzzles and PvP are only fun to a select few that like that game play etc. Dungeons are end game and quite repetitive with low rewards for the risk involved.
I sadly am having more fun in the games this game said it would not be. maybe this game doesn’t fit your style of play or just feels too different.
At least you are honest. For the first time in sixteen years I am without a compelling MMO to play. When I sat for six hours at a spawn point in World of Warcraft waiting for a mob to spawn to have a chance at getting a mini-pet, I realized it was time to leave.
I am not sure where I will land, but trying GW2 is at least keeping me busy.
Thanks for your post.
You realize you are part of a very, very small minority in the WoW community that does an event for a minipet, right? And you left a game that focus’s .0005% of its attention on minipets (WoW) just to come to a game that focus’s about 20% of its attention on minipets. And you’re doing the same thing in GW2 as you did in WoW, except you do it longer and again and again. I guarantee you’ll spend more than 6 hours in GW2 collecting minipets. I do not understand your reasoning there
Well, I was gonna post a screenshot of my 6 level 80’s but then I remembered I deleted all of them. Oh well. I’ll just tell you the reason I deleted them. World completion on 5 of them, ascended weapons for 3 of them, and nothing left to do on any of them.
I was going to say the Living Story, but the Living Stories are often located in high level territories that cannot be accessed by lower levels. Same with Jumping Puzzles. Only a few are accessible to low levels.
Participate in the mini-games/activities that Anet comes up with. Southsun survival, Sanctum Sprint, Crabtoss Carnival (or whatever that one is called) are a few of the mini-games you can play. Participate in Guild Missions (if you like exploring).
If you don’t like mini-games, then you’re out of luck. I became bored with this game extremely quickly once I hit 80 because there was literally nothing left that I wanted to do. I don’t want a legendary. I don’t want to get 100% world completion on my 4th character. I don’t want to get ascended armor because it’s hideous. I don’t know, you may or may not be like me. If you are, find a different game that offers better end-game. If you’re not like me, keep playing the game and good luck to ya!
Nah, your gaming skills aren’t deteriorating. Guild Wars 2 at the moment is unbalanced and extremely strange. I found myself dying repeatedly on my Elementalist and immediately after I hit 80, I was able to kill things without dying anymore. Since this is the first “MMO” Anet has created, I really don’t think that they knew what they were doing at first. I believe they were overwhelmed with the amount of factors they had to consider when they created monsters for the players to fight. Not only did they have to consider base health, damage, armor, and skills, but they also had to consider the level scaling from players that are level 80 in a low level zone. I’m guessing they had to slightly upgrade the npcs so level 80’s couldn’t one hit everything in low level zones, which put low levels at a disadvantage when trying to defeat said monsters.
It’s not you. It’s just the way the game is. Once you hit 80, you should be fine and you should easily be able to roflstomp any monsters that dare get in your way…. especially since you’re a guardian, you overpowered tank.
Plus, Anet has created PvE in the perfect way so you can only use Berserker gear in it. Berserker gear is the only viable way to play PvE, no matter how much I dislike it. If you don’t play with berserker gear, you’re outdated and you’re a liability to your party.
I would just like to have a new heavy class that is somewhat similar to the “Deathknight” in WoW.
Whenever I feel like I need a good laugh, I hop on my unkillable Guardian and start dancing in front of enemies. Takes them about 5-7 minutes to kill me if I don’t decide to run away by then. The only downside is that I have absolutely no dps.
I think most of us transfers from gw1 resent the living story because we think “hey they could bypass this stuff and be working on an expansion” and though I do like most of the living story, none of it compares to visiting my old stomping grounds in Cantha or Elona. There is so much potential there it makes me salivate,
I just despise when posters presume to speak for me. I hardly doubt you know 1% of the players who came from GW1, much less do posters have the right to suggest what “most” of us want. I see this happening all over the forums, and its really starting to get old. I like the living story(well a lot of it anyway), and I feel all of this talk about expansions is foolish. They have already explained that I do not need to purchase an expansion disc for them to add a new race, class, or land mass.
Thats why I used words like THINK and MOST. based on what I have seen on these forums, and the cross sections of players I have talked to about this, I stand by that. I apologize if you think I am trying to talk for you. I am not
From my experience, I also see that the majority of GW1 players hate the Living Story… including myself.
I just completely ignore commander tags now. They’ve become a symbol of wealth instead of a symbol of authority and experience. And they’re so commonplace now that I’m not surprised if I see 5 or 6 commander tags pop up during a champ farm or I usually see 10 to 15 tags in WvW all over the place.
I can’t even count the number of inexperienced commanders I’ve seen leading zergs away from important towers that need to be captured. I’m done with WvW until all the commanders get tired of repeatedly dying and quit the game.
Guild Wars 2 has a story?
Guardian and a Warrior. No competition. You will literally look at enemies and they will burst into flames.
Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. This bug has been here since beta and it continues to make me waste my time restarting the game over and over and over. So many countless bugs…
So I remember this game, being touted as not being a grindy game.
Is this a sign of things to come?
Should we start preparing to save 10-20,000 of every item in the game, so that we can possibly afford the new content as it comes out?
Am I going to need 15,000 snowflakes to make a new Christmas Mini.
Why are you doing this to the player base? Is it fun for you to tell us we are not going to get a grind-y game, and then smack us in the face with the biggest grind-fests possible?
Thanks for the fair game, fun, casual game. Oh wait…
Also, by the way casual players. You no longer matter.
If you were ranting about BiS gear I’d wholeheartedly agree but a Christmas Mini?
That’s as vain as vanity items go, it contributes nothing to the actual gameplay so truth be told I don’t see a problem silly items being hard to get.
I wouldn’t see a problem with that either, except that the game pretty much revolves around stuff like mini’s, cosmetic items, and back gear. Once you hit 80, there’s not much else to do except to gather that stuff. It is pretty grindy when you see what Anet is really doing.
You should appreciate what you have. On my old server, we would have maybe 2 or 3 people show up to a world boss. My advice: Get a guild that always tells if a world boss is up in guild chat so you can rush there ASAP.
Hahahaha. This game would collapse the minute that a subscription fee is implemented. I am very sure that the majority of the population would leave, including myself. Then the GW2 box would be used to keep me warm at night when I use it in place of fire starter. It’s a good idea for the minority, but for the majority, it is not.
PvE:
1: Loot RNG
2: Class Balance
3: Rewards (For anything in the game)
Hahahaha. Also, don’t buy ascended trinkets when tired. I bought 4 of the ascended trinkets that had completely wrong stats.
Anyway, enjoy your new server!
I don’t “think” rangers have lower damage than Elementalists. I know for sure that they do. The dps difference was extremely wide. Granted, I was using a staff on my Elementalist, but that shouldn’t matter too much. I don’t understand how you think that a ranger can do more damage than an Elementalist. I mean, I’ve made both classes a glass cannon with the best builds I could think of… And I tested them.
And so have I. Unless you go Dagger/Dagger (effectively the Ele’s “melee” option), Ele’s ranged damage simply does not measure up to what a Ranger can do (while admittedly the very narrow build I mentioned earlier), and even D/D is hurting over the last couple patches.
I’m beginning to wonder the last time you rolled ele, because what you’re saying is not matching up with what ANYONE else is observing. Simply put, I think your “tests” are actually an example of “confirmation bias.” You WANT Ranger to come up lagging, and so they do.
As far as I can tell, you are the only one in the history of ever that says, “Ele’s do less damage than Rangers”. I only have three classes right now…. An Elementalist, a Ranger, and a Warrior. Since I do not play my Warrior often, I focus on my Ranger and my Ele. There is absolutely no possible way that Rangers can even come close to the Elementalist’s damage. I used a build that gave my Elementalist 100% crit chance, in which I hit for 3.5k+ damage every hit. I used a slightly tweaked build on my Ranger and was doing 2k damage each hit. That was using a longbow. Next, I tried the shortbow and was doing 600+ damage each hit.
In fact, I have only been killed by a Ranger in SPvP twice, and that was with help from their allies. Since then, I basically swat Rangers aside in PvP and focus on the classes that will really be a threat to me.
And no, it is not “Confirmation Bias”. How is it bias when I want the Ranger to succeed, but the Elementalist comes out on top? I didn’t want that to happen. I’ve played a Ranger since the beginning of Guild Wars 1, so don’t tell me that I want them to fail. Let me say this…. I am a person that has created and planned builds since the beginning of time. (Slight exaggeration). If I can make two builds and compare them along with damage and overall usefulness, I trust myself enough that I will compare them to the best of my ability and the results will make the best of the class. Therefore, I trust in myself and stand firm on my belief that Elementalists do much more damage than Rangers.
I’ve had a level 80 of every class except warrior at some point. That you think an elementalist is FAR ahead of a Ranger is laughable. If anything, it’s the other way around.
Necros, Engineers, and Eles all have trouble sustaining the same sort of damage a Ranger can. Mesmers are better in bursts (and boy can they have some burst when everything comes together right). Thieves, Guardians, and Warriors all are better by and large (though I haven’t leveled a Thief up to 80 since the latest supposed nerfs, so that might have changed).
Are there issues? Oh absolutely. To match up damage wise, you’re rather restricted to a very specific weapon set (1 hand sword/offhand, usually warhorn), with a 1-skill that can be cumbersome to handle. Pet AI remains a problem, especially if you’re trying to run a pet that uses an F2 enemy target. But those are issues that aren’t specific to Ranger, honestly… they’re symptoms of a larger mechanics issue; the AI as a whole is pretty stupid, and the problem with conditions in group situations cuts out a lot of what COULD be effective in terms of potential builds (as a lot of ranger weapons hinge on some sort of condition application).
The things that you HAVE noticed (for example survivability) are more handy in the open world than in group instanced content, and yes that hurts viability… but what hurts the Ranger’s presence in groups even more are the masses who continue to insist that they are a ranged class even as the mechanics of the game itself scream otherwise.
Rangers aren’t in what I call a “good” place… but they aren’t exactly in a “terrible” place, either… at least, no more terrible than other classes not named Warrior and Guardian.
Just keep in mind that all the naysayers are obviously still playing
Most of them aren’t. I log in to see what’s new every patch, and 2 minutes later I log out due to boredom. I’m actually on the forums more often than I play GW2, but I hope to see that change in the future if Anet implements a patch that I like.
The game got more complicated for every single class except Guardians and warriors. Now if a guardian or a warrior even glances in my direction, I burst into flame and slowly burn to death.
I like Rangers. I’ve played them since the beginning of GW1. I really like the playstyle, but the damage is just incredibly bad. It takes me 2 minutes to kill one monster that’s my level. I can two-hit the same monster with my warrior. I agree though, all professions are viable in open world.
If you’re bearbow perhaps.
If you’re playing the ranger as an inside/out combat class, it doesn’t take much longer than a warrior to kill the same mob at all. Part of it is that the mobs in PvE are all pretty easy; part of it is that when maximized, rangers don’t lag THAT far behind.
Ranger lags damage wise, but it’s not THAT bad to be completely broken and unplayable… unless you’re trying to be an archer with your pet as tank.
It teeters on the edge of being broken. It’s not game-breaking, but it does encourage people to reroll. I built my Ranger as a pure glass cannon and compared the damage on one of the heavy golems in the SPvP zone to my Elementalist that has been nerfed more times than I can count. I can safely say that I would pick my nerfed Elementalist over my ranger any day. Rangers lag waaayy behind in damage and its very noticeable if you compare it with another class. I will admit that I can survive a lot more often on my ranger when my Elementalist would’ve died instantly.
What you see in these videos was talked about by Anet. They made it so you could see what the skills do. They used custom cameras and setting to demonstrate the skills. It was never meant to say that things would drop dead because you sneezed. If the game was like that, you’d play it for a week and you’d never come back, because ultimately it would be boring.
Those who have never been a position where they’ve had to create a video to demonstrate something that will later be in the real world are in error in thinking something made to show something off will 100% equal reality. It’s a skill demo, showing what skills look like and what they do. They’re in the game.
And every skill demo you see here is in the open world. Those who play rangers or engies…if you can’t cope with the open world, you’re probably not going to be very successful at MMOs in general.
Because the ranger is one of my favorite open world characters. And my engie with the bomb kit was one of my favorite farming characters.
All professions are viable in the open world. It’s the specific situations like dungeons that people complain the most about.
In fact, when I run around, I see tons of rangers in this game, no matter where I go. Someone must like them.
I like Rangers. I’ve played them since the beginning of GW1. I really like the playstyle, but the damage is just incredibly bad. It takes me 2 minutes to kill one monster that’s my level. I can two-hit the same monster with my warrior. I agree though, all professions are viable in open world.
hmmm because they can be very powerful in the right hands?
No…. they can’t. I made amazing builds for a bunch of classes in WoW, and one of my builds was ranked number one on a build site. Thousands of people used my builds. I come to GW2, and every single Elementalist build I have ever come up with has been nerfed almost instantaneously. I came up with the best glass cannon build I could find, and I still only do 30% of the damage a warrior (with twice my health and armor ) does. I agree. More than just the health needs to be evaluated though. Damage, armor, and health all need to be redone.
The Ranger looked like such a “Team” player then, look where it is now.
I really like the Ranger video, that sold me the game, now, well…………
And to quote….
“Rangers rely on a keen eye, a steady hand, and the power of nature itself. Unparalleled archers, rangers are capable of bringing down foes from a distance with their bows.”.
Unparalleled archers my butt. Warriors have better bow skills and do more damage with a bow.
You did not answer the overall question. Profanity, name-calling pretty easy to define. The issue is the vagueness of the term ‘personal attack’ in light of the fact that the moderation team has a rather…. random approach to moderation.
Also for the record ‘you have been warned’ comment makes people take the official post…. probably in a different direction than intended.
We’re definitely working on retooling and improving Moderation and messaging.
Using locoman.1974’s post to reiterate:Constructive:
“I don’t like the way Anet is handling the game”
“I find this new dungeon path boring because XXXX”
“I think these armor/weapon designs are ugly”Insulting & non-constructive:
“Anet isn’t competent enough with this game”
“Anet lied to us”
“Fire whoever designed this dungeon/weapon/armor”
“whoever designes this dungeon/weapon/armor clearly has no clue”You can discuss things we’ve said (manifesto, dev posts, blog posts, interviews) and disagree with them or even criticize. We’re okay with that. When it crosses over to insults is where we draw the line.
That’s all well and good, but I’ve seen many very constructive threads deleted for no logical reason that I can think of. For example: I remember someone creating a thread that was asking for specific chances of getting items from RNG boxes and they just wanted to know the chances to get certain items in general such as; a precursor, a ticket from an RNG box, and the chance for an ascended chest to drop. He was very polite, he used no sarcasm whatsoever, and he genuinely wanted to know. 2 minutes later, the thread was deleted. I’ve seen at least 15 threads, that were very constructive, get deleted for no reason. Why are those deleted?
Am I the only one here who doesn’t give a flying crap about mini’s? It’s like I’ve entered the twilight zone where everyone thinks the opposite of what I think. Seriously, I’ve posted about 20 threads giving my opinion on things that were the norm for games like WoW, and then I come to GW2 and everyone likes mini animals, rainbows, and unicorns? What is up with the GW2 community?
You’re playing Guild Wars 2. The game is just one big mini-game with lots of childish mini-games inside of it with bells, lollipops, candy canes, and musical instruments. The game is pretty much developed to be childish, colorful, and noisy.
You’re right though…. some days I just can’t listen to that crap and I have to go play Skyrim or Morrowind to shake the childishness out of me.
Stick to your warrior…. but if you have to make an alt, pick a Guardian. All of the other classes besides the Guardian/Warrior are complete garbage right now.
Hyperbole, anyone?
Pick what you think you will have fun with.
Haha, I wish it was hyperbole. I switched builds at least 25 times on my Elementalist because Anet kept nerfing every build I made. I finally was forced to go staff and made a pretty decent build for the staff, but then Anet goes and nerfs the last build I could come up with using the staff. And the warrior gets buffed. Logic.
Seems a lot less grindy…. hmmm… Have you played GW2 yet? Anyway…
1. Dungeons give out tokens that you can trade in for certain gear. The gear’s stats vary from dungeon to dungeon, so ultimately, you would have to run one dungeon over and over for the armor stats you want. Then you can use transmutation stones and transfer stats from the dungeon armor you got to an armor set you like the looks of. Still not so grindy?2. Yes, you can buy gear in the auction house for about 25+ gold.
3. The gear you buy for PvE may not be viable in PvP or WvW. Say you buy pure berserkers gear in PvE where you don’t get hit very often, but try to take that into PvP and you will basically get 2-hit.
4. Yes, you get a separate gear set for SPvP that can be changed at any time with a PvP armor vendor.
5. Correct. Skins are just the “looks” of the armor. Example: I have two sets of boots. One I hate the looks of, but it has the correct stats. The other I really like the looks of, but it has stats I don’t want. I would use a transmutation stone to switch the stats of the ugly boots onto the looks of the awesome boots.
6. You will never be able to “pwn” noobs in this game due to level scaling (unfortunately).
1. So I want to find the Dungeon that is best for the type of character I am building?
2. Ok cool, I am only level 40ish and I already have 11g. Should be at more then 30 by level 80.
3. So if I get the best WvW gear I can, I can also use that for pve. WvW is going to be my main thing.
4. You can only wear that in Spvp correct? Not in the normal world.
5. Ok cool, so save armor sets that you love the look of? Also, is there things you can buy/find that only change the look of your set or armor into something epic?
1. Yup!
2. Sweet. If you need more gold, look up what a “Champ Train” is on the forums and let the money flow to you.
3. People are really hateful toward people that decide to use gear other than berserker gear. So my statement is this: If you care what people think, use berserker in PvE and choose a different combination of stats that you like for WvW. If you don’t care what people think, use whatever combination of stats you like for PvE and WvW.
4. Yes, you can only wear the armor in SPvP, not in the open world.
5. Yes, keep armor that you like the look of. And there are such items where you can change just the look of your items. Unfortunately, they either cost gems, time, or lots of gold to get. Participate in the Living Story if you want some skins.
How odd.
Yeah, when you sign in it will be a video of Anet explaining why the Ranger class has been deleted and replaced with the “Ranged Warrior”.
Stick to your warrior…. but if you have to make an alt, pick a Guardian. All of the other classes besides the Guardian/Warrior are complete garbage right now.
Seems a lot less grindy…. hmmm… Have you played GW2 yet? Anyway…

No, I would not play a GW2 TCG hahaha. I’ll stick with Magic: The Gathering for now.
1. A holy trinity, because obviously Anet can’t balance without it.
2. Realistic rewards. If I want to sell my exotic greatsword and my exotic dagger, the greatsword should give me the most money because it is larger and (should) take more materials to make. Also, I hate mini’s, and Anet keeps dishing them out like they’re handing out free money. I literally wouldn’t spend 1 penny for all of the mini’s in this game.
3. Better looking armor. The armor in this game looks so terrible it almost makes me want to cry sometimes.
4. Take waypoints away in the open world (leave them in cities) and create mounts so I actually get the feeling that I am exploring instead of teleporting everywhere I go.
5. Make a Guild vs Guild. For crying out loud, this is Guild Wars and there aren’t any guild wars.
if you have evidence that proves me wrong
Do you have any evidence that proves you right?
Plenty, if you’re truly that interested in seeing for yourself. Actually, you can see for yourself. Guest to Gate of Madness or any other server besides the top 3 and walk around a bit. It’s a ghost-world for everyone that is not on the top 3 servers. Then guest to Tarnished Coast and you will see more people in 2 minutes on TC than you see in 24 hours on a lower-tier server.
Galtrix has visited every single server (both EU and NA) so he totally knows what he’s talking about.
I have guested to every single NA server. I have friends spread out on all different servers, that’s why I guest to different servers often. And guess what I see? A large pile of nothing. Please, if you have evidence that proves me wrong, use it instead of trying to insult my intelligence by saying I have no idea what I’m talking about.
The top 3 best servers are full. You’ll have trouble finding one person in 24 hours of walking on other servers though.
Several times in chat I’ve got the message ‘Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging’, making it impossible to use the chat for a while.
The problem is, that I don’t use chat very much, at the most I send 10 (short) messages in an hour. I didn’t think that would be excessive.
Can anyone tell me when using chat becomes excessive? Is 10 messages in an hour too much, or is there something wrong with chat (or my understanding of it)?
Nobody can even tell anymore. I logged on a couple days ago and tried to say something in chat for the first time in about 14 hours. I got the “Excessive messaging” crap. I’m 99.99999% sure that the excessive message filter is completely and utterly broken with no hope of being fixed.
It seems that lately most of the “wars” in Guild Wars 2 are fought on the forums.
Has the game really become so boring that people rather fight on forums than in game or do we lack duels and pvp modes and stuff to do?
Hi!
For me, I got so utterly bored that I would rather write an entire essay on the forums than play GW2 for 5 minutes. That should tell you a lot about the game.
1. Not your style of game.
2. The game is ridiculously boring.
3. There is nothing left to do.
4. You lost interest.
Take your pick…. I really do have more fun arguing on the forums than actually playing the game though.
Frankly, I’d rather just buy expansions every few years with a massive amount of content in them than the Living Story barely has enough content to keep my attention for, literally, 10 seconds. To be honest though, I would not buy an expansion for Guild Wars 2 because my interest in the game has completely deteriorated into oblivion. Almost nothing Anet can do will bring me back.
Jumping for excitement? Sobbing in disappointment?
Share your tears of joy and sorrow!
Here is my entire opinion of this patch: -_-
I really do not care about this patch or any of the other patches Anet has been throwing out. I haven’t participated in a patch since Southsun, because frankly, they all fail to interest me even in the slightest. So my final opinion is neutral. I don’t love it or hate it. I just don’t care.
Champ farm in Queensdale. Seriously, if I’m there for more than 1 hour, I’ll get at least 7 rare item drops and I’ve gotten 2 exotics from farming for about 2 hours. Add in the dragon bosses and you’ve got yourself over 11 rares and lots o money.
Make sure you’re level 80 before doing this tho, because you won’t get the nice tier 6 mats farming on a level 60
Was this before or after Magic Find was brought back to 30%?
Mine is up to 80+ (sadly, still not high enough without food) and I am not getting what you are in the champ train even with an 80…)
This was before the patch and I literally had no magic find gear on. You’re right though…. after the patch I haven’t gotten nearly as many rares or exotics and my MF is up to 182%. RNG
If I was a dev, I wouldn’t read those forums. The class section of the forums is where people go to complain about how their class isn’t good enough, so others need to be nerfed. It would give me a massive headache to read through even one of those awful threads.
Only really good backpiece i saw in gw2 is rox’s quiver, book and fractal quiver are looking kinda meh but still ok. New coffe machine backpack from TA ls is not bad but only really fits with limited amounts of armors and looks.
Rest is kidde junk like wings and more wings…they are seriously ruining my immersion when im all blood leagion charr on lookout for rebels and a guys with blue wings run by flapping them all over the place. =/
I completely agree. But then again, immersion doesn’t exist in this game for that reason. You defeat a giant dragon with a powerful cannon, and then you see candy sword canes, toy sack back pieces, and wings that are the norm for gw2, apparently.
I agree with everything you posted. I’d like to see most, if not all, of these features implemented. Players have been asking for this since the beginning of GUILD Wars 2, but I have never seen Anet say a single thing about adding the features. There is a lack of polish to the guild UI that makes me sad to call this game “Guild Wars”, because guilds are simply left on the side burner.
