Get over yourself. Oh no they added content without fixing the specific bugs that you want! Bugs, I might add, that I personally have not noticed at all.

New hairstyles sounds great!

Then you’re not playing the game if you haven’t noticed any bugs. That’s the only way to not notice them. They haven’t fixed bugs left over from beta, yet they keep piling on more content.

Tired of Empty Server

Galtrix.7369

So, just as the title says, I’m tired of being in an empty server. I finally decided just to delete every single one of my level 80s (I have 4 of them) and just move to a higher population server.

My questions are:
What is the highest population server at the moment?
What servers are located on NA in the west?

And of course they’re probably not going to give out a new hairstyle changer for free. You’ll have to buy the hairstyles that Anet should have had in the beginning of the game, but are now selling for probably 2000 gems each.

Well, they’re 23/24 which kinda means they’re about even?

To be honest, I actually think GW2 should be number 25. Total War Shogun looks pretty interesting.

'Strengthening the Core Game'

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’ve seen some amazingly fantastic suggestions that were never even given glance by Anet. I’ve come up with a few myself that were nearly perfect ideas. There are still bugs left over from beta. There are still so many things wrong with the “core game”. The UI is one of them – meaning that we can’t adjust the size of any windows or move our health orb around the screen. I would very much like to see improvements to the core game instead of piling on temporary content that I will most likely never do.

Crafting needs a revamp.

Heck no. I would stop playing this game immediately if crafting involved mini-games. We already have enough mini-games to deal with on a daily basis, we don’t need more.

Crafting should be revamped to make it worthwhile and profitable instead of being a grind that makes you lose money. That’s the only revamp it needs.

So you enjoy the process of crafting? Or only the reward? Would you be happy with a revamp where you press a single button to craft (e.g. a “Craft an Exotic Berserker’s Dagger” button)? Though I wouldn’t find this fun, I’d prefer it to the tedious process we have now.

I enjoy the process of crafting, and I enjoy the rewards from crafting. The way it currently stands, it is nearly impossible to gain the desired materials you need by looting them. I think if certain mats dropped more often, then crafting would be viable, but it is not. It’s easier to buy the mats you need off of the TP and then make your item.

I agree that the crafting system could be simplified a lot more than it currently is. A single button to press is a lot easier than dragging and dropping the materials repeatedly.

If you mean the kind of bug where your character isn’t even visible (either with or without your weapon floating in air), you’ll just need to wait a little longer for the game to catch up; that happens to me on a few LA points at times anyway. For some reason the loading screen goes away before it’s actually loaded or processed everything every now and then. (While this happens, you can actually move if you look at the minimap, it’s just that the camera refuses to budge until the character is fully loaded.)

If you mean the kind of bug where you get stuck in a sort of falling animation instead, haven’t had that ever in LA but a few times on other maps, and that’s particularly annoying indeed.

I have that happen every single time I wp there, and I’ve posted about this bug about 10 times now… and still Anet ignores me. If it happens again, then I’m done.

I haven’t spent a single penny and I will continue to withhold my money, as I’ve already payed the initial box fee. I think I might renew my WoW subscription though, which I haven’t done in about 3 years. The recent patches in GW2 have made me see what a great game WoW was and now I will be able to appreciate it even more when I go back to it.

The sad thing is, I will probably be paying less than all of you even with a subscription fee. Good luck, have fun with your game

Ascended (pink) tier. Why so restrictive

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

this is my theory :

ANET recently made a huge mistake when they allowed players to fork thousands of gold from the queen’s gauntlet, aka deadeye farming.

therefore they need to figure out a way to take those gold back from the players.

so they introduced a new crafting tier that take lots of gold to level up, and then not allow player to self the crafted weapons.

this is only one of the methods. more to come, i guess.

And thereby screwed the players that didn’t participate in the Queen’s Gauntlet into the ground. I will literally have to farm for 20+ hours just to get enough gold to get my crafting up to 500.

Please Combine Low-Population Servers!

in Suggestions

Galtrix.7369

There are low population servers? I rarely see them as low as medium, and high seems to be the average.

That is because the capacity for each server is different. You might see medium+ across the board but the number of accounts on each server is vastly different.

For those of you that don’t know, the population shown is based on the number CURRENTLY logged in. This is also what determines whether or not a server is capped to block transfers.

Personally, I think the server status’s are all lies. Gate of Madness says full all the time, yet I rarely see enough people to make a party with in one day. Don’t tell me that they’re all at the new LS, because I play those too and there’s only a handful of people I see that go to those. Take Teq for example. Gate of Madness never even had an overflow for Teq. Even in the main server there were only about 20 to 30 people there. I refuse to believe my server is full when I can walk around the world and see only 2 people.

I bought this game with the idea that I wouldn’t be paying a subscription fee every month. I haven’t so far, but it’s headed in that direction. Why on earth are transmutation crystals only purchasable on the gemstore? For a game that’s pretty much based on changing your look every few days, it seems like you’re making this pay to play. I don’t want to pay money every time I want to switch my look, but keep the stats… and that happens quite often. I’ve done everything this game has to offer. I’ve payed for a commander tag, I’ve gotten world completion, I’ve participated in the LS’s I wanted to participate in, and I’ve completed every goal I’ve made in this game. The only thing left to do is to find the best looking armor in the game. Unfortunately for the players, this means switching your armor every few weeks when you find something new you like. Players can’t help but want that new, shiny armor. As it stands, this game actually is pay to play purely because of those transmutation stones. Make them purchasable at a lower price with gold. I sure as hell won’t be buying those with real money.

If you are a hardcore player, like myself, then farming for a commander title and tier 3 cultural armor is something you might like to do. After you receive the “commander tag” then you are considered a leader on your server and every time you put on your commander tag, people will flock to you because they expect an event will happen, or is currently happening at that location. They will naturally look to you for leadership and you can come up with strategies of how to take towers or castles in WvW.

If you’re an experienced player, create a guild and see how large you can get it to be. (Though, this is probably the most difficult thing in the game to do, it’s still rewarding. I created a guild and basically spammed my recruiter’s message 24/7, yet nearly nobody whispered me asking to join. Good luck anyway.)

Apparently, you and I are the same when it comes to mmos. I generally quit an mmo after I feel like I’m wasting my time. Because I’ve completed all of the goals I wanted to complete, I feel like I waste my life every time I log-in when there’s not a new patch. The only days I play on now are when Anet implements the Living Story patches, and I usually complete those in a few hours. (Unless Anet time-gates it. CURSE you time-gaters!)

If you complete all of the things I listed like I have, then the only thing left to do is the Living Story content that is thrown at you every two weeks. I don’t know, you might enjoy it, but I find it almost intolerable. It may get to the point where I stop playing on the patch days too! At least, until Anet comes up with a patch that will bring me back.

Why do you need any guilds with 400 people in them…

To fight Tequatl and hope that at least 80 people will show up that are actually trying.

You can guest for tequatl and if you have 1200 people in just 3 pve guilds then I’m sure you can get 80 pve’ers

Guesting was a nice feature that I originally thought would improve teamwork and friendships between people on different servers. The point was, it was an option. You had the option to switch if you wanted to play with your friends or do an event with a guild from that server.

Now what you’re saying is that guesting is now mandatory for me to beat Teq. What will new players on my server think if they are the only ones to show up to Teq? That’s pretty sad that an entire server would give up on doing a boss simply because they do not have enough people to do it.

Edit: Plus, you’d be hard-pressed to find more than 5 people willing to do Teq on my server. You always need guilds with 400+ people in them, whether you realize it or not. They are the ones in the background working to keep the castles currently under our control. Make those guilds disappear and you will find that they did more work than you could ever imagine.

Let me start by saying this. I first chose Gate of Madness because a ton of my friends chose to play on that server, and I really didn’t think it was such a bad choice. For the first few months I had no issues whatsoever. About 5 months in, however, I started to see people complaining that people were leaving for different servers in masses. I experienced this in my guild when the guild leader suddenly said, “I noticed there aren’t as many players on this server as we’d like, so I encourage you to switch to Tarnished Coast where we can continue to be the best that we can be”. I assume that he was talking about WvW when he said that.

Even when my guild leader took the entire guild to TC, I still noticed no difference in population at all. I was seeing people in the open world, I was getting parties for dungeons in no time.

And then I took a break. It wasn’t even a very long break either! I think I only stopped playing for about a week or two, came back, and I couldn’t find a single person in the open world. I actually believed that Anet had pronounced my server dead while I was on break and had offered to pay people gold to switch to different servers. So I soloed and I barely talked with anyone except my guild for a few more months. I think there are literally only 3 guilds on my server that have above 400 people, and I was in one of them. The only chat I would ever see was in the guild chat.

So I played half-heartedly for the next few months, taking short breaks now and again while barely thinking when I did play. I seriously can’t recall anything I did in those 4 or so months, so I might as well have been unconscious for all the fun I was having. Again, I decided to take a short week-long break. After I came back, guess what happened? My entire guild was gone. Well, almost all of them. They left a few stragglers behind. 4 of them to be exact.

I can’t tell you how badly this game needs its servers to be combined. I feel bad for people on DR, because their server is in worse shape than GoM!

Please, for the love of all that is good, combine some of the servers and make it so we actually see people while playing an MMO.

Pet peeve...."knockbacks"...

Welcome to the mmo with no subscription fee where kids run rampant. Literally though, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run into terrible players, I asked their age, and they were below 13.

There are 3 answers to your question.

1. The button mashers. They hit every button without thinking about what it does.

2. The kids who just don’t care. I can’t tell you how many times I suggested not using knockback skills on a boss while they responded with, “i play houw i wana play, noobtuber”.

3. The multi-taskers. I’m guilty of this from time to time where I have a taco in one hand, my phone in the other, and I’m using my pinky to hit spells. This seems like it would be okay, but every once in awhile I hit a button that I didn’t mean to hit and it knocks the boss back, or I drop my taco and it just happens to hit the only key with the knockback skill on it.

How many hours is that? 60+?

money well spent i would say. Worse games out there that only give 5 hours total game time and sell for $60.

I played about 3000 hours of GW2, and I can happily say I should’ve spent my money on a game that would’ve given me 5 hours of gameplay. That game would’ve left me with some type of happy ending or a fulfillment of playing.

Guild Wars 2 was fun for the first few hours until I hit 80 and then the fun just slowly dissipated until it vanished and was replaced with work. No feeling of fulfillment. No feeling of joy. No feeling of accomplishment.

3000 hours? This games been out, what, ~400 days?

3000hours/400day = 7.5 hours a day? 52 hours a week. No wonder why you’re burned out, you play longer than most people work.

(400×24)÷3000=3.2 hrs daily. That seems more manageable than 7.5 hrs daily. Even so I would be bored too if I played this game daily even for that amount of time. No wonder your burned out and feel like it’s a job. TAKE A BREAK!

That was actually supposed to be 2000 hours. My bad.

Have we become spoiled?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

No, I’m not spoiled. Either Anet is the laziest company I have ever seen, or they realistically don’t know how to deal with an mmorpg that they can call “theirs”. The ridiculous amount of bugs in this game nearly makes me sick to my stomach. We’re 1 year into the game and there are still bugs left over from beta that haven’t been fixed, and they’re giant. Most recently, I complained multiple times about my sound vanishing when I enter a zone or talk to an npc, and it still has not been fixed after 3 weeks.

Moreover, they don’t take responsibility for the bugs they do create. I didn’t get my money back for a glitch that made it disappear when I used the tp because Anet said they never had a record of that happening.

The Living Story is also a poor sight to behold nowadays. Sure, the mini-games that must come with the LS are fun, but the actual LS is garbage in my opinion. It seems like Anet literally took a bunch of blank cards, wrote down random ideas for a living story, and are drawing them every two weeks. And the content they do come up with is recycled over and over again. Go fetch x. Now go press f 200 times on these. Now go find x amount of npcs. I want to smack my face into my keyboard repeatedly every time I see the new LS achievement list. I know the LS is free, but it feels like another daily or monthly, except that it comes every two weeks and takes 3 more hours. It feels like a mindless chore is what I’m getting at.

I can feel that Anet is not doing the best they can do when it comes to this stuff, so why should I feel grateful for practically unfinished, recycled content?

I don’t expect massive content updates every two weeks. I don’t expect new land to pop up out of nowhere. I don’t expect new classes, races, or anything else like that. All I expect is variety… and so far, Anet hasn’t been doing much of that at all. Keep in mind, Anet is a company which means that they want to find the fastest ways possible to make money and ways to keep that money flowing. They want to come up with the cheapest, easiest content updates that keep you happy while they can still rake in money.

That’s pretty much the same as Gate of Madness. Almost nobody competes in WvW anymore because we get steamrolled every single time we try. Heck, I created the biggest zerg I could come up with, went to WvW, and on the first tower we tried to take, a massive number of enemies came up and basically insta-killed us.

Every single commander we have just idles in LA playing the TP so they can come up with the money to switch servers.

Heck, even the largest guilds on our server decided to switch servers at the same time. They maybe left about 2-3 people behind from their guild, but that’s it.

Speaking of which, I know for a FACT that the server status’s are complete bogus. Gate of Madness says “Full” all the time, yet you would be hard-pressed to find a single person while exploring for 10 hours straight. So, where are the players Anet? They sure aren’t in WvW because all of our towers are always captured. They’re not out exploring obviously. The only players in PvE I can ever find are doing bosses or are in FGS champ farming.

We are a newly formed guild that is just starting out on its path to greatness! We are currently located on the Gate of Madness server and have absolutely no desire to switch servers. We aim to improve the experience of Guild Wars 2 for new, veteran, and extremely hardcore players by running frequent dungeons, competing in weekly WvW battles, and inventing new events. We also plan to make weekly runs against Teq with our entire guild so we can show off our prowess in battle!

FAQ:

[Why should I join Obscure Honor?]: Are you tired of sitting in a guild for days, weeks, and even months without getting a single promotion? Now is your chance to be promoted by showing your leadership and bravery on the field of battle! Not only will you have a chance to be promoted, but you will also find it extremely easy to join a party for a dungeon and compete in WvW with friends.

[What can you offer that other guilds cannot?]: We can offer you the chance to grow closer to your friends when you join. Other guilds have massive amounts of players and only see you as another number. We, on the other hand, are small and can offer you friendship and an amazing party every time you log in.

[What events are you going to create?]: A massive variety of different events! Fashion week, hide and seek, recruitment rewards, and much more! We also take suggestions for better events, seeing as how my creativeness is severely lacking.

[Requirements?]: There are no requirements! Whether you are level 1 or level 80, you can join in on the fun too!

I hope that you will consider joining [Obscure Honor] and look forward to meeting all of you if you decide it’s worth your time. Again, keep in mind that this is a brand new guild and our numbers will look small for a time. Given time, we will show our WvW competitors what it means to be a member of [Obscure Honor] and they will know fear!

Knockdown to Meteor Shower? Are you high?

Stun to Ice Spike seems a bit much, since it’s quite a big AoE and staff already has 2 stun skills.

The change to gust seems ok.

10% chance for knockdown on meteor shower wouldn’t be overpowered at all. As it stands, meteor shower is already a garbage skill. Cast time is high, the chance of it hitting a single target is pretty low if the target is moving, and it doesn’t do much more damage than my regular auto-attacks. I think a 10% chance of a knockdown would be a much needed change to that skill.

All the rest of the changes are good as well.

Why does RNG even exist?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

Because creators of D&D knew that asking players to perform calculations with decimal places was absurd.

The idea was that random rolls average out over time, meaning player skill and actions were ultimately more important than will of the dice. This is still the way and reason it’s used by game designers today. It isn’t there to make things random (although that is also a valid approach, and it’s also part of D&D). The problem there is, if you spread the luck too thin, it will never average out.

If you see where I’m going with this, go ahead and read on. (If not, please direct your attention to the section below the break.)

So what happens when you want your loot to drop after killing lots and lots and lots of things? Or if you want your on-crit effect to only trigger for 0,1 of its effectiveness? Well, what happens is that it now takes few centuries for the numbers to average out. You’ve successfully introduced gambling where there should be none. Well-done!

You know what I’m talking about. The Mystic Toilet. T6 mats. Exotic drops. Ascended drops. Even Rare drops. Chest drops. Black Lion chests. Dyes. Precursors. Mystic Clovers. Those silly on-crit effects that only trigger once every blue moon. The list goes on… It shouldn’t happen. It’s a mistake in design.

But you know what the punchline is? No, really? Remember WoW? Its developers know about this. They’ve seen no end to unlucky players being unable to collect 6 Wolf Pelts in the beginning zone for a month straight. And they fixed it. In WoW, the longer you go without collecting a random reward, the higher your chance that you’ll get it next time. So while an extremely lucky player can still get 10 Epic Loots from a Big Boss, there’s no situation where someone will slay it ten times over and walk away without a single Epic Sword of Rat-Slaying.

There goes you throwing 400G worth of exotics into the Mystic Toilet and getting nothing in return. There goes you farming the champ train instead of running dungeons or whatever else. There go your Exotic and Ascended drops which most players will brush off as a fairy-tale. There go the amazingly underwhelming wonders of Black Lion Chest. There goes that Luck meter – that you spend 50G on – doing seemingly nothing at all.

There’s your problem, ArenaNet.

fixplz.

Okay, a bit more explanation.

More specifically, the graph to the right. It shows how many times you have to roll a 6-sided die before it turns out you might as well be rolling a die with “3.5” on each side. And that number is about 400 times, to be generous. So, it takes 400 rolls with a one-in-six chance for luck to vanish as a factor. Everyone on the same page here? Okay, good.

So. Gaming. How exactly do you award your player a 0,01 pieces of Epic Loot because you only want them to have it after killing 100 Epic Rats? Well, you can’t. Okay, you can introduce crafting, but shut up. Traditionally this problem has been solved by having each Epic Rat have a small chance to drop said loot wholesale, because with certain probability in place it WILL drop after killing close to 100 rats for most players.

Same applies to combat. There’s a big difference between your lowest and highest damage, a crit and a non-crit, right? Well guess what. After delivering your 1,xxx,th strike, it will average out.

Or at least it should if you’ve made your game with the basic knowledge of what the heck you’re doing. And ANet know what they’re doing, right?..

I’ve used this explanation multiple times when arguing with my guild about the RNG. Most of them refused to acknowledge the issue, while those that did acknowledge its existence have since quit. I used to play WoW and I really admire the way that Blizzard managed their RNG. If I didn’t get the item I wanted, I would do that event again and I would probably get that item. If not, within 5 runs I would get the item I needed without fail.

I could go for years in GW2 without getting the item that I want.

I’ve never seen such a broken RNG system in my life to be honest. If you can play 3000 hours like I did, and only get one exotic drop, then there’s something majorly wrong with that system.

I did finally break through that a couple days ago when I got 5 exotic drops and an ascended weapons chest in about 7 hours of champion farming. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got the exotics, and then I just plain out refused to believe that I actually got the ascended chest.

Since then, I salvaged about 14 rares, and I’ve received not a single ecto. Somehow I managed to get the crappiest mats from those rares though. There’s some RNG for you.

I’ve completely given up hope on looting a precursor.

Yeah, I usually see a train running on Gate of Madness 24/7. If not, start one yourself and people will join almost immediately. Throw on a commander tag too, it helps a ton.

I agree with you about the conjured weapons… and I really don’t understand why Anet made the decision to improve those weapons so they’re better than the actual Elementalist class.

Everything else I disagree with. My Elementalist is not broken whatsoever, and I’m still doing massive damage even without full berserker gear. It seems like your hatred goes deeper than just complaining about the Elementalist class. It’s pretty apparent that you dislike certain aspects that aren’t related to the classes.

what if PvP Locker gives infinite skins

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

lol. The game would be over by now if that was the case. For me it would be over anyway. No, skins are ridiculously easy to obtain via SPvP, and you receive the items in no particular order. What I mean is that in PvE, the coolest looking armor or weapons take time and money, or luck, to get. In PvP, you can level up, get a chest, and get the coolest weapons and armor right away, which definitely takes away from the fun.

No, sorry, but this wouldn’t make me a happy camper.

farm/zerg/champ farm = shorter lifespan

You’re kind of right. I champ farmed for 7 hours a day for about a week straight, got the commander title and a piece of armor that I wanted, then I had nothing else to do in the game but sit and look at my pretty armor. I literally have no goals left in this game whatsoever. That is, until the next Living Story anyway.

A Charr Mesmer. How weird can you get. You have a big hulking charr that you expect can smash you to death with one mighty sweep of his paw, and then he shoots you with a purple laser with butterflies flying around him.

In my opinion, Gw2 races are really bad. I mean, the generic fantasy setting for an mmo is really really cool. Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans, and other such races are really awesome in my opinion. I grew up with that stuff, and then to come to GW2 and see an Asura mouse/naked mole rat made me kind of sad.

I’m gonna get the best looking armor in the game…. oh wait, I did that already. I guess I’ll collect mats for an ascended weapon… oh wait, I already looted one a couple days ago. I guess I’ll complete the living story…. just kidding, I did that too. Maybe I’ll do all the story modes for every dungeon. Wait, I did that already. Guess I’ll get world completion. Nevermind! I did that too!

Fml, I have no goals left.

I guess I’ll level a pally in WoW until the next living story? That’s my goal I suppose.

I haven’t played a Living Story all the way through since Southsun, and I find it’s a lot more enjoyable to go explore the world and maybe join a party with a few random strangers along the way.

With the latest Living Stories, I find myself going, “Really Anet, is that the best you can come up with to occupy your players?” Even in Southsun I was like, “Holy crap, I’m already bored out of my mind and I’ve only been doing this for 10 minutes”.

If you have teamspeak, I find a lot of the new content to be enjoyable mostly by hearing, “Oh crap, fell of the cloud again. Anet finally must’ve nerfed my asura’s jumping to normal size for Asuras”. A bunch of funny crap goes on in Teamspeak when you attempt jumping puzzles.

I got bored with the Thief pretty quickly too. Try a Human Elementalist. They’re really fun, and you don’t get bored easily while shooting fire, water, electricity, and earth from your hands.

I don’t think there were any major changes to the different classes. There were changes to Champion loot, they added Ascended Weapons and Ascended Trinkets, and they changed Teq into a raid boss. Those are the only major updates I can think of at the moment.

Edit: Actually, I used some traits that are better than what he uses, but it’s still pretty dang close to what I’m using.

If you’re a glass cannon Elementalist and you travel to Orr, you’re screwed.

Not at all… i used to do daily orr runs on my elementalist there. Moved through the area without problems, and killed hordes of mobs without probs either… I’m also a staff ele…

I do remember at launch when my ele was crappy builded, it was impossible to kill veteran mobs. Orr land nowadays is easy mode.

I should clarify. I meant you’re screwed in certain areas of Orr. There is one area of Orr, I can’t remember which, that has all ranged enemies that do crazy condition damage. The normal melee enemies are pretty easy to take apart before they get to you if you’re a glass cannon ele.

Making content your engine can't handle?

Stop playing on machines from the late 90s. A 3rd gen intel i5 and a GTX 640 GPU will run Tequatl on max settings without breaking a sweat. The problem isn’t the servers or even the engine. It’s YOUR machine.

Source: Running Teq with no lag on max settings on a Dell XPS 8500 with a 3rd Gen i5 processor and GTX640 GPU

No, it’s not the machine. I have a computer that’s from 2007 and it has been able to handle every game I’ve thrown at it so far at max settings. And I play a ton of graphic-heavy games.

Then I come to Guild Wars 2 and I can barely run it on medium settings. Items disappear until the game can load them, sound disappears out of nowhere, and half the time, I just disconnect out of Teq fights for no reason at all. I get the same results on my laptop with an i5, except worse.

a Machine from 2007 is 6 YEARS out of date. That’s FOUR full generations of components. It’s practically a relic.

Remember people, a component generation is 18 months. Anything more than 3 years old is COMPLETELY OBSOLETE.

Apparently you just disregarded my previous statement entirely. Read carefully. My computer can handle every. other. game. that I’ve thrown at it. That includes Skyrim on max graphics, which I’m pretty sure, is way more graphically-heavy than Guild Wars 2. It’s been able to handle the newest games that have come out too.

And you’re COMPLETELY WRONG. Seeing as how I’ve had this computer for 6 years, and it can still run games on max settings, I think it’s safe to say that computers last a long time.

It’s the Guild Wars 2 servers, not people’s computers.

Great Job on the new Tequatl fight

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Galtrix.7369

It would be great, except for the fact that my server is literally full of children that cannot organize themselves to save their lives. To make matters worse, all of the strategic coordinators repeatedly guest to Blackgate so they can finally kill Teq. I’ve been the only commander on my server that’s been issuing orders that haven’t been followed at all, and I now see at least 5 afk players every time.

Heck, yesterday there wasn’t even an overflow for Teq on my server, and we barely managed to get his health down to 95% before he wiped nearly everyone out. And yes, I do mean nearly everyone. I think there were about 3 other people, including myself, that were left standing when Teq flew away. I can see why all of the strategists left to go to other servers now.

I’d like to see something done about Teq on the really crappy servers, because it’s nearly impossible for us to finish it.

If you’re a glass cannon Elementalist and you travel to Orr, you’re screwed. I have full berserker armor with an ascended soldier staff, and all soldier trinkets, and it’s a lot easier to survive in Orr with that type of build. I can survive a few mobs before I die instead of getting hit twice by one enemy and exploding instantly because I used a glass cannon build.

Should there be an Armory for GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Galtrix.7369

Galtrix.7369

Why not have an armory? You people seem to think that all people will do is look at your armor and say, “Nu uh, you don’t have the right gear, you don’t have enough achievement points, and you sure don’t have the right build”.

I can say that this happened in WoW on more than one occasion, and that’s when I asked what their ages were. 11 and 13. You probably wouldn’t want to play a dungeon with those kids anyway, because they probably have no clue what they’re doing.

Sure, you’re going to have those complete morons that won’t let you into a party because of the gear you’re wearing, but now it’s not a big deal because you can use the LFG tool and find a party in 3 seconds anyway. And anyway, they probably would’ve had you ping your gear anyway so they could take a look at it, and even without the inspect tool.

Why not have one? Instead of having to ping your gear in chat, now it gets a lot faster by having them inspect you, and you can leave the party and find another just as quickly. Personally, I want an inspect function in the game so I can see what people’s armor mixes are and how they get them to look so cool. I’m guessing that’s what the majority of people would want.

Something like Dire gear with Conjure Ice Bow and Glyph of Storms? No one’s saying the staff isn’t good in groups. Try it in a 1v1 and get back to us.

I have, and it’s still amazing. They don’t stand in the aoe as often as npcs, but it still works.
