You can add people to your contact list with the name that shows here. Then you can pick from that list those who are online to whisper. Whispers always go to the player even if they change characters.
As Donari said, you can whisper to anyone in the game and you mail anyone in the game. Joining dungoens, however, is restricted to one’s Region (NA or EU) same as guesting.
Hello Jemi!
My daughter also plays an Asura Necromancer, mine is human. I have played mine most of all my characters, which should tell you that Necromancer is quite playable and fun.
I play quite abit every day, except this weekend we have a houseguest, so I am a bit restricted until tomorrow. If you happen to see me logged in the game, feel free to ask about anything that comes to your mind.
There is a slider in your Hero→Acheievments→Community (Like Olba said). It shows your progress.
I had one drop. I gave it to my daughter on condition that if she gets one, she gives it to me. She got one and sold it.
Some people completed it on April 1st.
For me it is hard, because it requires WvW or Fractals ot killing 100 different Sonic listening things. But it will get done.
There are elevators/lifts if you know to look for them marked in the map. You can also take any of the big roads named after a god and run. Soon you’ll have a WP there and probably never use any other intracity transport as it is free.
It says “Each Name Change contract”. So yes, another contract will let you change the name again, once.
Choose your server wisely. Your account will be bound to it unless you pay. I cannot tell you which one to choose as I don’t know your interests or your region nor have I experienced most of the servers beforehand. (It is not a horrible thing if you end in a server you don’t like anymore. You can play on any of the same region’s servers. It is called guesting. Only WvWvW is excluded.)
And the EU unofficial one is Piken Square.
Wow. And I am trying to hold back my 7th and 8th character, because I find the journey to be fun.
But if you hate levelling, invest some gold and craft them up.
Save the gold. Keep trying Dragon chests and the like. If you don’t have luck by the time you have the gold, then deside if you want to buy it.
1. Yes. Sometimes anyway.
2. No.
I don’t say PvE is easy. I say it is not too hard.
Names are global. They will not change.
“but those weapons are very high end and are only for allround players.”
Glad to know having a job and a lack of 50 hours a week to spend on the game makes me “Not a real player.” Thanks for clearing that up.
That is not what Mercury said. ‘Allround’ means those who play every ascpect of the game. To craft such a weapon one needs more than map completion, one also has to get a lot of badges from WvW and a huge amout of crafting materials. You can do that even with one hour to play, it just takes longer.
You can start the Razing content by going to the Black Citadel. If you start with Rox, you won’t have to travel far away immediately, just Diessa Plateau. Braham’s tale takes you to Hoelbrak and Wayfarer Foothills. It would be a good idea to find Whisper’s Agent Brandubh while you are in Black Citadel and get the translator from him. That way you won’t have to go back for any Messages you may find.
The rest of the content is for the most part in Wayfarer Foothills (Norn starter area) and Diessa Plateau (between Wayfarer and Black Citadel/Ashford Plains). Look at anything unusual on the ground. Light fires, revive fallen and get mementos from those who are beyond any help to the collectors.
The rest of the Flame and Frost stoff can mostly be found in
It has no effect on Dungeons unless you want it to. Also rememeber that dungeon party members can come from any EU server.
Personally I don’t follow WvW though a lot of my friends play there all the time. Maybe someone else can tell about that. Or you could come guest and ask around. I’d recommend guesting on any server you consider first.
The Expiring could also be a comparison between a monthly subscription and gems to buy a character slot.
Anyway, for my characters buying char slots has been something they work hard for as they want to ‘recruit’ more people. I have now almost enough gems for the 8th slot and the crew is eagerly waiting to meet the representative of the last profession: Thief.
I don’t know what I wil do in the future, maybe I will buy more. But these seven, soon to be eight, will have me happily occupied for a couple of months at least.
Piken Square, the unofficial EU RP server. Almost all chat is in English, sometimes you see people recruiting for their guilds in their native tongues.
Remember that you can always play anywhere and with anyone as long as you are not in an area that is way above your head. You can always go back to a lower level place and play with people of that level. You will still gain experience and, with luck, many of your drops will be your level as well.
There are no actual tanks, but maybe you could try a Guardian. I have no clue what you mean by trolling other players, or at least I hope I don’t. Of course if you are talking about PvP, then I’ll leave that to those who are into that sort of a thing.
- Mini Shade
-It is just so cute with it’s bright turquoise-blue eyes.
I am glad to see a postive post for a change, actually. Usually people complain.
Only a couple of days left of March. Almost time for the little thiefling to make her/his first stab at the world.
Still hoping to find adventuring partners for the new one. And still hoping for a char slot sale.
Actually right now 9 silver buys 3 gems (The price changes all the time.). So you can buy gems with silver.
In the picture you have missing areas in Maguuma and Orr. Not all areas have WPs, SPs or PoIs. Go look carefully at your maps to see if there are any smudgy parts there.
Impossible to know. But if you do it, why not create immediately a placeholder character? The chances of someone taking it within 2 minutes are very slim, though of course it is possible.
I don’t know for sure, but it does make sense that only PvE items are useable in crafting a PvE weapon. They are supposed to be separate.
Hopefully somone who has opened a PVP dye that they dont have in PvE can confirm wherther it shows on both armors or not.
How are these previews possible? I like what I see certainly.
I cannot tell you who I am yet. I don’t have a name and my form is very vague at this time. I know what I am though: I am a Thief. The day I will emerge in Tyria is approaching, it cannot be more than a week away. I am excited!
I am hoping to find someone or even more than one person to share my early adventures in the World. My guild members (=alts) are helpful, but they are very busy (=can only play one character at a time). Anyone who would like to team up with a little thiefling, please, contact me. I play on Piken Square server, which means all EU server people are eligible through guesting.
While the little Thief will not appear until the beginning of April (unless characters lots go on sale before that), the rest of my characters would be delighted to make your acquaintance already. Players, old or new, all equally welcome though it were a special honour to meet those who are just starting.
I prefer the slimmer blades myself. My Guardian has also Khrysaor and Skybringer. My Warrior has currently the Lion Guard GS and will later get the one from Ascalon.
Take just one wild guess, why I have no interest at all in a Legendary GS?
Personally, I rerally hate the whole leader board thing. This was supposed to be a friendly cooperative, game. Will it now turn into a stupid competition over points?
I think I will ignore the boards completely and try to tolerate the braggarts.
I have never gotten an exotic from a chest, but I know it is possible. As for rares, this morning I got two from the Maw chest. At the same moment I also got a strange ‘bonus chest’ making appearance where the daily chests usually go. It had one rare item inside. Anyone know what such a bonus chest is?
I cannot help you with the Karma Vendors, because I don’t know who sells what or wht their stats are.
But transmutation stones you can get by completing maps of low level areas. The home towns of each race, for example.
I stopped going when the new stuff came out. I don’t feel I have any business being there now that it is for those Big Guild people.
This is somewhat right. Friends do improve the experience. But you can have friends without being in a guild or being in the same guild with them. I have a few, not many, friends but they are a true blessing. Thank you guys even though you probably don’t see this.
As a fairly new dodger, I’d like to add one thing. Just because the game doesn’t say ‘Evaded’ it does not mean you were not successful. To get that message you have to be just in time, to avoid taking damage it is ok to be a tiny bit too fast.
Pick either and save the other for your Engineer or Thief. That way you’ll not lose anything.
I’d make the choice based on whose story I want to see more, personally.
You don’t ‘only’ have 75. I think you might have 76, if really lucky. But those of us who live in Europe and sleep at night can only have 74 now.
You do not need exotic armor to do Dungeons, save for Arah and maybe the other lvl 80 dungeons. They were desined to be ran at a level where exotic armor does not exist. (Of course it helps to keep you safer, but it is not the most important thing.)
As to exactly what to wear, I cannot tell you. Those who really focus on that stuff can help you, but they need to know what your traits are and what weapons you use, at least.
If you play on an EU server, I’d be glad to show you what my ‘merry little band of mercenaries’ = my characters, do daily at lvl 80.
Three paths. Butcher is easiest. I don’t know about Supergroups but regular, fairly competent groups 30 -40 min max.
It is neither a very hard or very easy dungeon.
Guesting is very easy actually. I also had not done it until a few days ago, but a series of broken events made me go looking for a luckier server.
I play a lot, but not very late in the evening normally. I have to get up quite early in the mornings.
Do you have room in your mailbox?
My best results come from Necro and Ele. But the others are nearly as good. It is really a question of how you like to play.
Maybe there re less people around this time? I think some events are triggered by a player walking in a certain spot.
Heh. I resolved the issue by choosing the trait that gives you 100% chance to stay alive after using vengeance.
Well, I am going to bypass parts of this conversation and return to the original post.
OP: Does it matter if it is hard to solo the veteran? From the way you worded it, I got the impression that you still can and do solo them. Is it fun? Are you happy when ther opponent goes down? Especially if it was a hard fight that could have ended badly? If so, great.
For contributing in lvl 1 fractals it may not be that you are a problem. The problem is that your friends are far too efficient. If you have four that can solo the whole thing, or at least think they can, it is no wonder if only crumbs get left to the fifth. I am not suggesting you team up with complete beginners unless you like teaching and are prepared to be frustrated. But maybe you could try finding people with some experience? Or one really experienced person and three beginners? I bet you’d feel more valuable in that kind of a group.
When starting, nothing worthwhile is easy. Fractals and dungeons are hard when you don’t know them by heart. Repeating the content over and over will not make them easier, but you will find what are the best ways to act in what instance.
And in answer to your last question, I am not at tle level of learning yet that I would call them easy. I am at the level where I don’t call them Impossible anymore. (Save for Arah Explorable. That scares the living daylights out of me.)
I keep on hoping for them to go on sale for a day this month. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll start the new character on April Fool’s Day.
I’m always looking for people to play with, so if you find yourself alone and bored, whisper me.
I am not Dutch, sorry. I play on Piken Square, but I can come visit you in the Ruins of Surmia or you can come visit Piken, if you prefer. I have a nearly lvl 50 Warrior levelling at the moment, so I know the characters could get into all sorts of fun stuff together.
Only if it says they are quest items they are of any use. But you’ll be able to get new ones pretty ewasily when the quest (event) starts again, so I’d just sell them. Or even junk them if they cannot be sold.
On salvage all of the above. It varies from person to person as well as where one is situated. Best to go with what gives the best return.
The highest end Salvaging kits should only be used on the high end items. If you want the rune/sigil Black Lion will give it to you 100% and Master’s has a very high probability. It is not actual for you yet, but personally I use Master’s when trying for ectoplasm otherwise the basic one works well enough.
