Does anyone else find it odd that random Champion mobs are more deadly then Dragon Champions like The Claw of Jormag and Tequatl?
now that you posted it, next patch we will sea claw and teq doing random unavoidable aoe doing 100k damage to everyone in the map, might add agony as well while they are at it
In before Champion Icebrood Abomination…
a.k.a. Ice Tank.
I’d like to note that players must stay clear from Keeper Jonez when Champion Risen Wraith comes down the stairs due to its ability to cast a Well of Darkness AoE to players directly at the back of the room.
Clearly, players in the back room or center of the room will not be able to see Champion Risen Wraith due to severe culling issues in PvE, so proper communication by players in the front line are needed.

It’s a bug. After a server reset, Priest of Melandru is able to transform players for certain number of events.
However, I did see him transforming players for 1 second before everyone reverted on the first event after a server reset. We had a whole skritt of people doing Temple of Melandru at that time.

Very relevant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6H3zYN2JY0
Now opened on Blackgate.
We killed the Champion Wraith at Shelter’s on Desolation tonight. It is actually quite easy, and just requires players to listen and follow some basic tactics:
1) When he is in the air casting health leach, don’t go anywhere near him. Go completely out of range and stay there. He doesn’t move while casting, so if no-one goes near him, he can’t gain any health or kill anyone.
2) When he lands again, move in and attack him.
3) Rinse and repeat.
Took a while for people to pay attention to these tactics and to learn not to run in like an idiot while he was casting. Once people started to pay attention, he died quite easily. Having someone call when to move in/out seemed to help.
It is not worth several minutes trying to take down Champion Risen Wraith, especially if it already destroyed the event objectives. Better to leave the instance and let it despawn rather wasting time just to kill it and getting a small loot from it.
Temple of Grenth on Tarnished Coast (NA) is now OPENED for business.
Opened again on Tarnished Coast.
Opened in Blackgate.
Temple of Grenth on Blackgate (NA) is now OPENED for business.
Guested on Crystal Desert on that same day and it is broken as well.
Try finding the same item and turn it in with another character. More than one characters are able to obtain the same items, although one can be turned in on the first time.
Opened on Blackgate as of few seconds ago.
It was working after yesterday’s reset and managed to cleanse the temple.
Today, I checked up on it and now it’s broken with Historian Vermoth missing.
The concept of a champion plague bearer seems… off.
Hint: They’re the suicide bombers.
Every time I see any Risen Plague Carrier, I yell “BOOMER!”
It’s probably faster to leave the instance and let it despawn. No reason to kill it for several minutes.
I guess that explains why Shatterer events in Blazeridge Steppes disappeared after the zone crashed everyone’s client out of the map a few months ago. Upon recreation of the zone instance when players rejoined, the Shatterer events went to a full 3-hour wait.
Now if Temple of Dwayna events get stuck on a server, I wonder if all players leaving the zone could fix that.
…oh, right — can’t, due to farmers at Union Waypoint.

I fell into that water pit once when I’m supposed to warp on the suspended platform. I swam up to the surface and I finally got teleported to the platform few seconds later.
After taking down the Champion Steam Ogre, don’t “dodge” into the portal exit. From my experience, it makes you fall from the platform after it shows a “loading” screen.
For that much damage, that definitely is coming from a Champion Plague Carrier.

Gates of Arah in Blackgate is now opened for business.
Now opened in Blackgate.
Opened on Blackgate.
Here’s another issue. Champion Risen Wraith easily ended Secure Warmaster Jofast’s Camp event by spawning inside the camp and destroying the supplies with its Life Transfer skills.
A Champion Risen Wraith easily destroyed supplies during Secure Warmaster Jofast’s Camp event. We were speechless.
Temple of Dwayna is broken again on Blackgate on DAY ONE of the server reset.
After taking down Risen Priestess of Dwayna, NPC Historian Vermoth with 0% HP said “The way to the altar is clear!”, and then “Retreat!”. He then disappeared like he was using an invisibility cloak. Cathedral of Zephyrs chain event is permanently broken again.

Temple of Melandru on Blackgate is now opened for business.
Opened on Blackgate as of 28 minutes ago. Still opened.
You only get a chance of rares from big chests dropped on the ground.
I got stuck under a platform on the Union Waypoint when waypointing from Temple of Balthazar to Temple of Lyssa. This has happened to me twice.
Unfortunately I don’t have a screenshot, and I don’t know how frequently this happens. This has happened to me twice in a row when waypointing from Straits of Devastation. My waypoint cost would’ve doubled but I used a Guardian skill to teleport out of the platform’s ground.
That would work, except when Champion Risen Wraith arrives in the last minute while cleansing the Temple of Grenth event, because Keeper Jonez does not have the AI to flee from the wide Life Transfer range.
My group tried our chances at defending Keeper Jonez Deadrun while he’s cleasning the temple. We covered both parts of the room, and there is a severe issue with Champion Risen Wraith.
With in 1 minute left, a Champion Risen Wraith flew down the stairs and stopped 1 feet past the bottom of the stairs and casted Well of Darkness AoE DIRECTLY at Keeper Jonez FROM AFAR. My party was in the back room, feeling the Well of Darkness damage while guarding by Keeper Jonez.
How could a monster be designed to ignore all the players infront of the room and attack directly at Keeper Jonez in the back room, effectively failing the event?
Those pack of Risen were supposed to despawn upon event failure. The only workaround for this bug is using a skill like On My Mark! to lure one towards you and take it out one by one.
I believe you can use another character to find the Lost and Found items again.
Temple of Dwayna is broken on Blackgate. It seems to always happen after the day of a server reset.
NPC Historian Vermoth is nowhere to be found and the event is stuck on “The seal on the statue of Dwayna must be broken.”
Opened on Devona’s Rest server 30 minutes ago. Still opened.
Also opened on Blackgate at the moment. Not sure for how long.
What is this condition and what does it do?
It is coming from Champion Risen Spider.
No Dead Drops / Mysterious Devices in Diessa Plateau on Blackgate, Crystal Desert and Devona’s Rest.
I got all the ones from Wayfarer Foothills on Blackgate though.
No has thoughts about it?
I guess the red circle on the map will only stay for Shadow Behemoth.
The problem with Champion Risen Wraith is that its Life Transfer AoE radius is freaken large. Champion Risen Wraith can stand in the middle of the room and cast Life Transfer, reaching far enough to suck Keeper Jonez’s health in the back room.
Seems like Temple of Grenth is currently out of commission, due to instability and untested condition of the new monsters since the new update.
Still no official word.
…instadeath Well of Darkness pools…
Pretty horrific, and there’s no documentation of the new Veteran/Champion Risen Wraith since the update.
Nothing on Google Search about them… until now.
…40k by a Plague Carrier invisible because of culling. Really?
I can explain that — get ready for the horror:
It was done by a Veteran Risen Plague Carrier.
The last Temple of Grenth event is having severe culling issues.
I’m seeing cases where something invisible was attacking Keeper Jonez Deadrun. No enemies were visible on the back wall near Keeper Jonez (no red names or anything), and I saw other NPCs attacking a stationary statue in the back of the the room. It was like that for 20-30 seconds until a Champion Risen Spider visually appeared, while another invisible monster in the middle of the room attacked the back room with AoE skill, effectively downing Jonez Deadrun.
On a second try at defending Keeper Jonez, while attacking a visible Veteran Risen Spider, the same AoE appeared on the floor, hitting Keeper Jonez again. I looked around and there were no other monsters visible other than the Veteran Risen Spider. More AoE attack landed on the back room until Keeper Jonez’s health depleted, failing the event again.
I looked at my combat chat log for the reason of the mysterious AoE, which revealed multiple lines of “Veteran Risen Wraith hits you for 1,257 using Well of Darkness.”
These invisible monster issues are making the events impossible to succeed, causing people to look around like a headless chicken to find the source of these invisible attacks. Will there be a fix for this?
Opened on Blackgate.
Temple of Balthazar on Blackgate is now opened for business.
My turn to paraphrase:
A yellow text appeared saying “game updates in an hour or so”, and then several minutes later: “LOL nevermind! Restarting for game updates in 3 minutes!”
Also Jormag.
#1, 2, 3: The best tactic for this is be the frontline and lure Risen Nobles away from the squad — oh yeah and don’t stop moving.
#4: Definitely should be marked a Group Event. I can’t do it as a Guardian alone.
#5: NPCs spawn about 9 minutes after failure of the event.
I recommend 3-4 players for the first event. Anymore and the mobs will upscale.
