The vendors usually hang around a bit longer.
They may get moved or merged.
If a guild vendor has the item on a tab, I don’t see why that would get removed.

I don’t think they can fix the exploit without patching the main game which would break SAB. Which is different to saying “yeah we’re ok with it” but I don’t know what else they could really do at this point except improve for next time.

Yep, agreed.
I have spent over 1,100 hours into this game. I play to have fun & relax!
Yet you don’t sound relaxed. You might be playing it wrong.
Now I got to ~110 mastery points I don’t want to farm/grind all the achivements.
So erm.. .don’t then? Do something else?

This thread needs a proper GM look. Inconsistencies all round.
Pets and turrets are fine to attack mobs whether you are there to make them do it or not. The problem seems to be that people are finding a way round the auto log out.
I would not feel comfortable logging both my accounts in, setting something to auto and going to work or sleep but clearly some people are and that needs looking at and some retroactive work done to deprive them of undeserved gains.

The way to check whether toughness is useful FOR YOU is to run a full zerker build v running a slightly less zerker build with some toughness.
If you can run full zerker without dying, you didn’t need that toughness.
If you can’t then add some toughness via trinkets until you can.
If you still can’t, start swapping in armour pieces until you can.
Personally I run full zerkers on all toons and I’ve got one of each and they all have their elite specs and play quite happily in HoT. Some play better solo than others sure but I take that into account when deciding when and which one to play.
As stated earlier, it’s better to have a quickly dead mob so you can move on to the next one than still be standing there hitting it in ten minutes time. It’s a bit of a waste of your time for a start and you run the risk of something else spawning nearby and coming to join in. Finding the middle ground if you can’t run full zerker is up to you. Trinkets are easy to swap in / out whilst testing.

I am very worried for any promises that ANET might make in the future

No-one would lose in any way if a piece of temporary content is made more accessible or permanent.
You keep saying that and it’s still not going to change anything. Festivals and events are meant to be temporary content that gets rotated in. Anything new quickly becomes old and dull, the complaints about there not being enough to do in SAB would start in the third week of it being permanent.
And you’re completely forgetting that anet benefits from this style of event rotation. Every festival brings people back, gets people talking, introduces new themed gemstore items or has new skins people can earn and sell. It’s part of the economy of the game.

You know I was very upset today
You shouldn’t buy HoT. Not because it’s bad but because you’ll just spend all your time generically complaining about it.
The alternative to what Anet has done is what WoW does where you have to buy 112 different expansions and the core game and apply them one at a time until your PC runs out of room. Oh and then you have to pay a sub to play it.
Making a single install is something Anet should be praised for instead of this whine every time someone comes on looking for misplaced sympathy.
There is a link elsewhere offering it for $40 that I can’t be bothered to dig out for you.

There isn’t a tide, there is no turning it. No matter what is decided if it comes down to having to choose which part of the playerbase to cheer up first, somebody else will take it the wrong way and say they’re leaving the game.
If they suddenly hired a bunch of people at great cost and we got legendaries and pvp balances and wvw maps and hot got easier/harder/smaller (who knows what people really want, right..) and raids got lfr and we got new dungeons and more fractals.. there would STILL be someone saying

I’m already sad and disappointed. I don’t see a single glider skin that is available to unlock or earn as reward for playing the game.
Default glider is intentionally incredibly ugly, not even fully dyeable, just so you are “forced” buy a new one. Especially since they put gliding in Tyria.
This is of course just one little thing.
Er yeah that might be smallest thing ever.
You get a free glider.
You can glide in HoT and Tyria.
You have enough money to buy a better glider.
You choose not to so you haven’t been “forced” to do anything.
How about not using it?

But you should be able to do them, just get on an organised map and either pay attention to teamspeak, join a squad and pay attention to squad chat and just follow the zerg
I think the gist of the OP is that zergs are inherently chaotic and un-fun. Some people simply don’t have a taste for it.
A zerg is anything but chaotic, if it was chaotic people would be firing their lasers randomly at all sorts of things and running in different directions without focus. The OP seems to have a problem with organised events.

so far i failed to get hero points since you have to fight a bunch of enemies.
In VB you can solo all but 3 of them if memory serves and there are ALWAYS people in map chat who are doing those. Look at the guide on dulfy.net.
for some reason my character walks slower after she pulls out her sword instead of keeping the steady speed. making it easier for enemies to catch up or kill me.
This is not a HoT thing.
i already have reached level 80 and all my gear im wearing are level 80, enemies are just too over powered. not suited for my class.
Level doesn’t mean your gear is any good. Are you wearing rare/exotic gear or fine/masterwork? Rangers are absolutely fine in HoT maps, consider changing your build by looking at a site like metabattle.com
this now, is a turn off.
More than happy to take people round VB if I’m on. I regularly see (non-guild) trains in mapchat or join a guild and get people to take you round.
You will need gliding, mushrooms and wallows so work on those for the best map experience.

Otherwise the game is absolutely fine to return to. I did the same thing a while back and there’s tons of achievements and story to get stuck into and all the old stuff you may have done (farming in Orr, fractals, dailies, jumping puzzles) are all still there.
If you’re not in one, join a guild and get (back) into guild missions and grab those guild hall goodies. They’re very tasty!

one questions why they’re doing them and why they’re there in the first place.
You are free to question yourself all you want, just don’t go to them if they bother you that much. Do you turn up regularly at Shatterer and think “I don’t even know why I’m here, how I got here, why does this keep happening to me?”
Most of the bosses, have no background or personality, or reason to be there.
Or you just don’ t read the wiki / lore.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Shatterer
I’ve often heard streamers on twitch refer to it as such and being the main reason why they don’t play and can’t get into gw2.
Why are you listening to people who can’t / don’t / won’t play gw2? This seems really self-defeating. If you agree with them so much, join them in not playing.
They expect players to do too much in a short time in such a hectic set up. Often times, people are left frustrated trying to achieve even some simple tasks, as there are too many mobs that use annoying overdone CC’s, purely designed to stop you completing those tasks.
What? You get ages at Shatterer. There’s a whole bunch of achievements now you can work on at your leisure. Kill mobs, break bar, drop grenades, fire health packs. Those people you mention who are getting frustrated (you mean yourself, right?), they don’t need to get good or anything, just get on an organised map of which I see plenty in LFG all the time.
I don’t find most of these events fun, but an extreme frustrating exercise, yet one has to do them at least sometimes if one wants to accomplish things in the game and progress their characters. And most importantly, if u don’t do these events, there isn’t much else left for you to do in the game anyway.
Ok you don’t find them fun, don’t do them maybe?
But you should be able to do them, just get on an organised map and either pay attention to teamspeak, join a squad and pay attention to squad chat and just follow the zerg or learn the pretty simple mechanics that so many others have learned already. By not doing these things you are frustrating yourself, it’s not the games fault.
As for “not much else to do in the game”.. really?
This game may not be for you any longer, take a break, there’s still a lot of fun to be had when you’re in the mood.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
I’m getting more and more tired of all the chaos that occurs in gw2 events. It really is over the top. Each new addition of content adds more and more layers of chaos and multi-tasking, with complete disregard for people with poor internet and/or without super gaming computers.
You are playing an always-on online game, you are at the world boss event that requires a lot of people. You are always going to have issues there with poor internet, always. This is about you, not the game. There is some regard in that you can downgrade your graphics (really easily too) but at some point you will need a better computer / internet to participate in such things, minimum specs for the game will not suffice for these massive events.
As for chaos – hardly. All these events are clearly mapped out in the wiki and on sites such as dulfy and are well video’d over on youtube. Your example of TT is one of the best examples of why the player needs to get more prepared, Cobalt is all about the zerg and hopping around with barrels.. I only ever run it as an organized guild and it’s organized to within an inch of its life.
I also don’t have that achievement by the way. I’ve done Cobalt maybe twice and have zero kegs placed. It’s on my short term goal list now, plan on getting it over the next few weekends. For me things like TT break up the simpler things (that I also enjoy doing) such as gathering round Orr or completing a story achievement I never got round to doing or finishing off an outpost chain in VB or running a dungeon or two for tokens towards the ascended rewards.
I really hope that future expansions have more sedate events with more clear mechanics and lesser amount of mobs, which in turn would require less zergy crowds. It’s ok to have an event like Dragon Sand Boss, but having to spend 1.5 hours fighting 1000’s of mobs to get to it, is not.
The achievements in the living story should be more your level, especially if they scale so you can solo them. I am not sure it’s really 1.5 hours or 1,000’s of mobs for DS.

I was running a dungeon last night with a guildie and he said something that has been mentioned here. He said “I love running this as I get to use four weapons”.
And I think it is very easy to just run round as the meta pressing 1 but not as much fun.
Knowing when you should kite and when you can pull out the old hammer, knowing how useful a well placed of wall of reflect is, popping all the minions when they’ll do the most good.. that is what makes any toon fun for me.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
It’s all too easy to miss out on a once-every-two-hour opportunity because of this dreadful system.
It’s also really simple to use a timer site and get to the event you want early. Organised maps set up at least ten minutes early, that’s what being organised means.
There are other issues with lfg and parties and groups I’m sure but being on time is a player issue.

However, trash mobs in open world maps could easily have been balanced to bring something new to the table for the game while at the same time not ruining the enjoyment of solo players who just want to get mastery points, work on HPs for their elite spec, gather the currency they need to craft gear they are working on, or just explore the beautiful maps ANet created.
They were balanced to bring something new while at the same time not ruining the enjoyment of solo players. I’ve run round solo avoiding some mobs because they’re harder than the easy trash mobs.
If I wanted to work on my WvW stuff should Anet provide me with an empty instance so I can cap everything? Should they add more WP’s because walking is tiring? I get some people don’t like PvE but that isn’t HoT’s fault, you just don’t like PvE.

You don’t need viper or trailblazer recipes so you’re setting yourself targets that you can’t meet just so you can complain.
Your definition of hardcore is completely wrong.
I’ve solo explored all of VB several times, solo’ed all the HP’s and MP’s (as per Dulfy’s guide) that you can solo and then grouped for the ones you need a group for.
DS I happened to be in when the meta started and joined a squad and we completed it.
AB I’ve done the meta a few times but haven’t got map complete on any toon there yet. Need to spend more time there for that.

Mmm hmm. I was re-doing one of the HoT episodes last night where you escort an Itzel and Nuhoch back to their base. They do not escort well, constantly stopping and leaving you wondering where they are. According to the story, they are in a rush to warn the base.. doesn’t feel like it.
And then the leader waffles on for an aeon, blah blah this weaving post, blah blah that carving station. Seriously.
However there’s a HoT escort, Master at Arms Neary maybe, he walks to the very edge of the walkway and it really looks like he’s going to jump down / fly off but he stops dead and turns 90 degress and I’ve seen people fly off at that point assuming he’ll be joining them. That amuses me.

Isn’t that what the Pact Commander line kinda already does?
If you get the Mapping Materials you get a map bonus.

There’s already enough good stuff easily available as map bonus items (t6 blood, unidentified dye) without increasing the drop rates.
As for karma gains / gold / etc – use guild boosts for that on top of banners, food, BL boosts and login rewards. Doesn’t need to be associated with masteries.

I’ve done the story a ton of times on lower than I should really have done characters who were nowhere near as well geared as they could be.
And it never got hard.
If you die because you are swarmed by mobs like at Claw Island, it’s no big deal to just respawn and carry on.
If you really, really can’t get past something.. ask for help in map chat or guild.
“Play the way you want” shouldn’t be “I’m so angry at the world” or “I’m mad because I die all the time”, try “people will help me with my goals” and “a build and proper gear will make harder things a lot easier”

Reduce your gear.
The original Cursed Shore was NOT fun. Back to balance..
I feel there is some effort made for some of the game types some of the time, there has been some rebalancing.
There are no doubt some genuine complaints that it’s too hard in pvp to do something but if you fixed that would you not make it too easy in wvw?
I see a large part of it as just being player led flavour of the month type fixes. If your bear bow ranger is op in pve, play it in pve. You can’t play it in pvp where condi thief rules. But what about your useless DH who keeps getting rolled in pvp now (to heck with those condi thieves, right?)? Turns out it’s awesome in WvWvW.
Swings and roundabouts maybe, devs provide a framework and players figure out how to make it work? With gear and personal food and utility items or group items like feasts and thesis of things and changing the traits per encounter and swapping skills and weapons..
How can you balance all of those things? Surely it’s better for the players to figure out a build from those things. Also better for players to figure out which game types their theory crafting should work best in, it’s good that you need different builds for the different gametypes, would be pretty bad if viper ele was op in all game modes. Except for those people with viper ele’s obviously.
