I love the genie pants.
I do not, however, love what those pants do to my boots.

Maximum Honesty: based on OP, this game is not for you.

What led you to believe making CoF harder would lower precursor costs on the TP?
general deflation?

The Truth:
the only real reason why people “think” PAXA sucks (ha) is because we troll the kitten out of these forums. If we didn’t I would be willing to bet that half the naysayers here would be singing our praises.
Isn’t that the most basic of common sense?
Don’t act like jerks and you won’t be treated like jerks, treat others with respect and others will treat you with respect.
I think the gap is that some of you relish having this bad reputation.
Northern Shiverpeaks
It goes way beyond spying and blowing the siege cap… this would allow a large group of players to go into an opposing server’s map and force queues by roaming around doing PVE stuff.. leaving fewer slots for active players to participate in the WvW itself.
Northern Shiverpeaks
A system like this would only lead to massive tampering of the rankings/matchups by external forces.
And a metric kitten-ton of griefing.

You want a Legendary weapon: you need to do legendary feats, such as mastering several of the game’s modes/activities.. even if you don’t like some of them.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Lets say 8 hours play, so you claim 500 kills per hour. That’s around 1 min per kill.
That’s the wrong scale, you never do single kills to reach the high numbers.
You do 50kills in 30secs and 5min later you do the next 50kills in 30secs
And what’s missing in your scale is down-time.
While getting 50-60 kills in under a minute is possible in the right conditions, what’s NOT possible is that you experience this every 5 minutes, all day, every day… for 7+ months.
Which is pretty much what’s required for those kind of numbers.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Yes you can have multiple different ascended trinkets gotten from the laurel vendor.
The case where you can’t use “both” that you are probably thinking of is that you can’t equip two copies of the exact same trinket.
Northern Shiverpeaks
While you wait for a dev answer i’ll tell that you that we probably won’t get free transfers again for a while as we just had limited ones to medium servers 2 weekends ago as a special measure.
Northern Shiverpeaks
How many games truly qualify for the title of e-sport anyway?
all I can think of are Starcraft, LoL and a few fighting games.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I thought it was pretty clear that if you take all 5 upgrades you would get +5 supply, bringing you to 15 max capacity total.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Another morning of being very impressed with KING.. and suffering horribly at their hands
Northern Shiverpeaks
But the players defending the catapult do. It really is not fair and should not operate like that.
Build your own Catapult to counter-siege it, you don’t need to engage any players to destroy it.
Much like if you have a catapult on your tower wall that can’t be reached by enemy players directly, they have to do the same thing.
Northern Shiverpeaks
If the supply upgrade actually did as stated, it would be worth it. But it doesn’t.
Does it not provide you with an extra supply slot for each upgrade?
Northern Shiverpeaks
My level 80 characters have more problems destroying these things than they do soloing champions. Something is majorly wrong with that scenario.
You not adapting to the scenario properly by switching to a weapon with range 1000+ would be what’s wrong.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I have to disagree with people stating that the game does not significantly change at 80. There are several important reasons to knock out those levels, IMHO:
- Level 70-80 rares drop, which are a notable source of income.
- You can equip exotics, and wear them into WvWvW
- Daily reward from world bosses
- Low level friends will benefit greatly from your aid, as long as you make sure they’ve had a chance to tag something before you oneshot it. And you’ll be equally entitled to rewards, including the aforementioned rares.
None of the things you mention will matter if the player doesn’t enjoy the core game play, which is what you experience on your way to 80.
If you find the game play boring, what does wearing exotics or getting better loot change to your enjoyment?
This “slow down and enjoy the journey” tripe gets repeated every time this question gets asked
Because the players who ask this question are invariably the same ppl that end up posting “theres no end game and it sucks” threads 2 weeks later.
we’re just trying to save everyone some grief by telling them to cut their losses early.

1. Nobody is against the ability to go fully invisible, remove followers and block players so that they can’t track you.
cough
actually, I am. These are all abilities that would help cheaters/hackers/griefers/etc remain undetected/unreported.
Also, giving a player these abilities would also help stalkers. Currently, if someone feels stalked and/or harassed in-game, they can use the friends list to keep track of their stalkers and avoid them.
In the end, if you’re being seriously harassed in any way in-game.. REPORT IT! that’s the truly important bit. Any other course of action is letting the stalker get away with his/her harassment.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Don’t see what’s wrong with it
Northern Shiverpeaks
NSP had queues? NSP players, please line up and laugh.
Well if he was NSP at launch and then ended up on ET, he might be part of the massive TL-led exodus so he would’ve experienced the queues that followed that mega zerg around.
But then that was back before week-long matches started, which is the last time I remember us having real queues outside of reset night.

Devs did stated that server population is only depended on the account number that’s tied to the server, not actual online players.
They’ve also stated the exact opposite. At this point I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.
The values don’t vary enough to be based on “currently online”, but they also vary too much to be based on “accounts tied to server”.
As for the current state, an Anet employee apparently mentioned yesterday that they had temporarily raised the population caps as a workaround for an issue they were having. I say apparently because the post was later edited and no longer mentions anything about population caps.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I average around at least 1-3 thousand kills a night depending on how much time I can get in….(work..life..etc). I think the most I have gotten in one night is around 4k kills.
I know people who are sitting on over 150k kills I believe at this point. It is very doable while it will take awhile it’s not impossible.
screenshots or it didn’t happen.
Northern Shiverpeaks
many people got the 250.000 kills already
Lies. That’s over 1k kills per day ..for every single day since release.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Congrats to that 3man KING group from HoD, you guys are hard little kittens to kill.
May i ask, which classes? I’m just wondering who of our guild was it
! Cheers.
Oops, KING’s on SF, not HoD..my bad.
it was a mesmer, a guardian and a thief.. and I think an ele tagging along at times.
it was a bit hard to keep track of things, that mesmer is a clone factory.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Congrats to that 3man KING group from HoD, you guys are hard little kittens to kill.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Indeed it does, however not in this case, they have increased capacity again.
proof / source?
Northern Shiverpeaks
The way Stealth impacts NPC aggro was changed 2 patches ago
It was a much needed change due to Skill Point mobs and other PVE bosses instantly resetting(and getting all their health back) on player stealth.
Northern Shiverpeaks
afaik the disconnecting player will always get the armor damage but the person they were fighting will not always get credit for it… regular rules for “tagging” apply.
Northern Shiverpeaks
One of the biggest hurtles of WvW is getting your server working together…. And in that regard an Anet tag >>>>> blue commander icon.
Im not going to say how developers play their game, but if they are doing it on their own time i think it is pretty silly to do it in a way that could clearly provide an advantage, if in coordination alone.
Your post would make sense if the arenanet icon was visible on the map…
it’s not. You have to be standing next to a dev to know a dev is there.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I mean c’mon, it’s a video game.
Bad sportsmanship is just as lame in video games as it is in any other environment.
Northern Shiverpeaks
activation time != time in between each activation.
The activation time value represents how long it takes for the skill to cast, not how long it takes to complete. It’s a metric that gives you the window of time in which the skill can be interrupted.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Also, on the note of 1v1’s, where is the unofficial place to duel with HoD and/or NSP? In T8 it used to be @ Heroes on our BL. I wouldn’t mind stopping by and joining in some dueling some time.
We used to have Fight Club on Thursdays however once the location/time gets publicized it gets trolled.

Update: 8th April 2013
Eredon Terrace is now a MEDIUM populated server due to an increase server capacity on arenanets servers.
Population varies throughout the day, no changes have been made to server capacity.

Waypoint costs should be trivial, if they are not, you’re overusing them. Quick value check: after using a waypoint, make note of how much it cost you. don’t use a waypoint again until you’ve earned at least twice what the first one cost you.
WvW siege: get blueprints through map completion and JP reward. If you must buy them, do so only with badges.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Expenses are the guild itself, character gear, waypoints and WvW across two accounts.
Break it down with actual values.
Northern Shiverpeaks
millenium works purely through player input.
ie: someone logs on to the site and manually updates the numbers based on what they saw in-game.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I naturally assumed that, like with Karma and Gold, there were no limits
Karma and Gold both have limits, they’re just really high.
every single numerical value in this game has an upper limit.
Northern Shiverpeaks
not interested in making lots of in game money. I’m just concerned with the loot drop rate and low in game incomes.
So… do you not see how you keep contradicting yourself in these posts?
I am well seasoned in the dynamics of the MMORPG.
Which means you have a bunch of preconceived notions you probably need to unlearn.
Northern Shiverpeaks
So far the only thing different I’ve noticed about SF’s play style is that they seem to abandon drawn-out fights early on, even if they would win them eventually, presumably to focus their efforts elsewhere with more efficiency.
Quite a few times this weekend I was part of defending a tower and after 4-5 minutes, just when i think they’re about to shift the momentum and break through…. they suddenly peel off and disappear.
I wonder if this is a result of weeks spent mostly PvDing and learning how to maximize players time in that context. If so, it points to a pretty impressive level of coordination and discipline.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Hi guys, I am just sick and tired of leveling so slow it too boring for me i wanna reach the end ASAP. I really wanna get to lv 80 guys i need ur help and pls do reply.
If you find pre-80 game play boring, you’ll find post-80 game play just as boring since it’s the same.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Is endgame still only pvp and dungeon grinding?
If that’s how you viewed the game, then no amount of new content will make it more fun than it was when you quit.
Northern Shiverpeaks
I have enough money in this world to support an in game lifestyle of some affluence but, that goes against my gaming ethic and if I feel it’s almost mandatory rather than voluntary, then I’d sooner be an in game pauper or find another game.
Ya, I was talking strictly in terms of in-game currency. Your complaint is about not having “enough” gold earned through game play.
What a few of us have tried to do is try to have you look at your spending rather than your earning. When you say you don’t have “enough” gold… enough for what specifically?
-how often do you use waypoints?
-how often do you upgrade your equipment and how?
Northern Shiverpeaks
I have no money woes.
…
You should be able to work in game and make enough money to facilitate involvement in other aspects of the game but, it appears that this cannot be easily done in GW2.
Well which is it? Do you have enough money or don’t you?
Northern Shiverpeaks
As long as commander status is only obtainable through a gold purchase then it should not provide any other advantages.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Have you considered that your money woes come from overspending rather than under-earning?
Northern Shiverpeaks
orbs would actually help the 3rd place server more than anyone else because it would force the 2nd place and 3rd place servers to fight the 1st place server in order to overcome the odds. This is something that should happen now, but very often doesn’t because people take pride in being 2nd, for some reason, instead of trying to win.
You’ve mentioned this twice and I just don’t see how orbs would force anything.
In fact, if the 1st place server had all the orbs, that would be even more motivation for 2nd&3rd to focus on each other instead of trying to tackle the first place server’s buffed players.
Northern Shiverpeaks
40+ people stand around for 3 minutes doing nothing is not good gameplay.
this would be a case of bad players, not bad game play.
Northern Shiverpeaks
T7 was not balanced. 80k difference between 1st and 3rd? Only T3 had a larger difference…
That’s a direct result of last weekend’s free transfers. Look back at the 2 months previous.
Northern Shiverpeaks
! Cheers.
