the problem with rewards for the escort event is how to evaluate participation..
either you set the bar too low and ppl that just run by the yak eventually get a reward when it’s done..
or the rewards only trigger if enemies were within range of the yak, which would mean that you most of the time you spend 5 minutes escorting a yak, no one shows up to attack it, you don’t get a reward, ppl come back here to complain anyway.

I’d like to see a 12v12 objective based PvP instance like Alliance Battles in GW1.
I played a lot of AB and over the years the game play evolved more and more towards the exact same zerg mentality you now see in WvW.

Because not everyone uses maximized damage output as the main factor in deciding their characters’ build and play style.

All those seem like bad play and/or trying to exploit mechanics in ways that are not intended… visually cluttering an area to render it difficult to use is not valid game play, imho.

firstly, in researching how transfers are limited, and secondly, in researching which server to first transfer too.

Rams should be reworked to only be placeable within attack range of an enemy door, and to automatically de-spawn once that door’s tower/keep flips.

If there is a guild or a smallscale team that wants to run by themselves and politely ask you not to follow them, then by following them you are simply griefing. Sure, it can happen coincidentially that you meet at some supply camp or points but that’s not what I am seeing. It’s not like you can’t do other things in the zone except grief your fellow players.
You can’t call dibs on objectives or sections of a map.
If I go into EB and declare “I want to try and solo SM and all the keeps today, no one interfere” .. is the rest of my server griefing me when they ignore my selfish desires to have my game play overrule what they want to do?

Im pretty sure it wasnt RNG… DR has definatly hit me in Cursed Shore. Coulda been after 25 mins though, and maybe for 10 minutes he had bad RNG drops but its completly plausible that he did hit DR.
You don’t seem to grasp how drops work in this game.
every time you tag a mob and it dies, you get a ‘roll’ against a few drop tables(based on the mob type/location)… this is RNG. It determines every single drop you may or may not get.
The DR system works a bit like an inverse Magic Find, lowering your odds on each drop table once you’ve met certain criteria. It takes more than just 30 minutes in the same overworld map to trigger any kind of diminishing returns.. you have to kill the same mobs over and over and over to start hitting DR, or run the same event back to back to back.
Players don’t get the drops they want and they just blame DR.
Yes I have been DR’d from Cursed Shore multiple times. I can tell because …

So I went and don my MF suit and go for a run in CS after a very long time. I killed about maybe 100 mobs there, went to frostgorge, killed another 100 mobs, and the results were absolutely dismal, and I felt like DR kicked in within 15 minutes. Amazing.15 drops for 1 hour? Come on…. It’s like saying farm more gold and purchase the mats you want instead. Any other players experiencing bad drop rates?
You didn’t experienced any DR, just relatively bad luck.

so.. you mean the system we already have? because outside of the first and last tier… wining/losing 4 matches in a row will usually lead to a tier shuffle. of course, you need to consistently win/lose by a decent margin.. otherwise: you’re already in the correct tier.

What’s happening with HoD?
..seems like the week of the free transfers HoD was everywhere, then SF moved in to the match and since then HoD’s presence appears to be dropping more and more.
is it a conscious effort to not participate as much this week? losing pop to transfers and/or burnouts?

when you look at the entire game economy (rewards, gem store, bltc, rng, crafting…) and profession designs (limited variety and customization outside of gear, limited weapons and skills, buttons to press…) *you can clearly see that these two core areas of the game were designed more for anet wallets and sanity, not the players overall long term enjoyment. *

There are 2 major flaws in my opinion:
1- RA system, even if we can at least say there is one now, is poor and non apeeling.

my point is that with the current reset time, someone at Anet is already working extra hours Friday evening. Two extra hours at the end of the day on Friday is the same cost as two extra hours Saturday afternoon.

Which means they will always have people ready to fix it if something goes wrong, and therefore a Saturday would be quite expensive for ArenaNet, since they would need a team ready to fix the problem ASAP.
Overtime/on-call on Saturday afternoon costs the same as overtime/on-call on Friday evening.

So screwing over EU since release is completely okay, but as soon as the US is effected it is a no go?
It wasn’t “completely okay”… but if the fix for that problem creates the same problem for the same amount of people.. nothing’s been solved, the problem just got shifted, so why bother changing anything.
By all means, change it, just change it to a time that is an actual compromise.
Like Saturday late afternoon (say 5pm UTC). that way NA-W is mid morning, NA-E is early afternoon, EU is early evening and SEA is late evening:
everyone gets to play.

I don’t agree, in most cases matches are pretty much decided much earlier (with the exception of few amazing down-to-the-wire fights).
So let’s ruin these amazing matches for the sake of… absolutely no gain?

The end of a match is WAY more important than the start of a match.
I’m all for a compromise but this went in the opposite direction of what it should’ve been… don’t move it earlier, push it to later.

At least for NA, I’m sure there isn’t any match that wasn’t already decided 2-3 days before the end of the week (except for the last match at T8). So having players at the end of it made little difference.
not surprised to hear this from an ET player, however plenty of tiers have had very close match.
Even if it’s not for first place, many matches have battles raging right up to the last tick.

Well this is dumb, having more players be able to join the start of the match isn’t remotely as important as having more players join at the END of a match.
If this is true for NA servers as well, it basically means close matches will be won by daytimers while most players are still at work/school

An internal cooldown would effectively shut it down altogether.. it would trigger on the very first arrow that makes contact and then ignore all the other hits on that character AND on anybody else in the AoE.
It would also nerf other uses of Leg Specialist .. such as Rifle2 with the piercing trait.. which would no longer “pierce”.

I don’t think switching to the European data center would really impact your issues since all the network congestion and bandwidth problems happen between you and the backbone.

Ugh it doesn’t need a solution, please don’t nerf one of the few options we have to help defend against overwhelming numerical superiority.
