To be honest I’ve never seen(or at least noticed) any of those items out in the world.

Keep in mind that every profession was used in PvP in gw1. So you can’t really say it wasn’t balanced if every prefession/class was used because it had it’s purpose.

While that’s mostly true in general across the last 7 years… there were plenty of periods where 1-2 builds dominated and where a few classes were just not competitive.

Which 4 did you do?

btw: for the monthly achievement, you don’t even need to finish them, just “find” them.(the trigger goes off when you enter what it considers the start of the puzzle)

If I have to do it as quickly as possible, I get the variety/kills/gather in Gendarran, walk out the door from LA and head west, then north to the lake.

after that I jump into WvW to get the events.

1 vs 6 where you hold them off for 7 minutes seems like a total win to me, expectations of being able to completely defeat all of them seem pretty far fetched.

the monthly achievement has never been defined as being “pve”.

the daily/monthly achievement exist to encourage player to diversify their game play and to try out parts of the game they might not normally encounter.

Great match so far, love finally having battles on equal footing!

You didn’t lose anything, your guild upgrades, influence and bank contents are waiting for you on the server on which they were earned/unlocked.

All those elements are on a per-server basis.

more stuff for the sake of more stuff just makes it harder for them to balance everything.

what ppl forget about gw1 is that while there were a lot more skills, a huge portion of them were downright awful. What they’ve tried to do by reducing the number of skills is remove the potential for builds that are much weaker or much stronger than the average build.

If you have fun playing a support guardian then that should be all the incentive you need. If you also want rewards, split your time with an alt that’s more kill-focused.

Also.. if you party/squad up with players and they recognize your efforts, they should consider tipping. I’ve mailed a few silver to a support teammate before, I realized that they kept me alive and I’m happy to share the wealth

The party system is useful in that it gives you better information about ppl you are partied with.. you get to see their location on the map, their health/status, and a separate chat channel.

as for advantages for combat/mechanics.. Anet just extended those to anyone that’s playing with you, regardless of whether you are partied up or not. that’s not making the party system worse/useless, that’s making all the other interactions better.

Ya that’s all true but what you seem to be glossing over is the 10 weeks it took to slide down to last place, with every match being a total blowout.

Which led to ppl not just moving to other servers, but to simply stop playing altogether.

So no, claims that IoJ is imploding is NOT farcical, it’s a sad state of affairs.

The whole IoJ and SBI implosion is farcical, as if a tier 1/2/3 server can actually “die”. I guess death means falling to tier 4 or lower and actually getting a good match.

If anything why don’t you try and get organized and do well in wvw instead of sitting on the forums being victims.

Our WvW population collapsing certainly doesn’t feel like “nothing” to us.

Counter point example:

You’re doing a Fractal run, you just beat the second fractal’s boss and everyone grabbed their chest when one player goes afk without clicking ‘ready’.

you wait.. 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes…. with a vote kick system you have a way to move past this impasse, without it, you’re stuck waiting for that player forever or quit out of the run altogether.

That being said, it really should be a 4/5 vote.

Kicking players out of a party for what gear they have is supremely lame.

judge players by their actual contribution, not on whether they follow your specific school of absolute min/max-ism.

If you’re creating/deleting alts to get around the node refresh timer and do it a dozen times a day , then yes, that’s an exploit.

If you just have an actual character, sneak him over there and farm the ore once a day, that’s fine.

Guilds themselves are not server specific, however their influence and upgrades, such as the guild Bank, are.

Yes it would be mostly the same. I just happen to view that same result as being wrong.

1 player == 1 concurrent character in-game.

Breaking that assertion, regardless of the technical means used to do so, seems like cheating to me.

But they should’nt be to hard for a group of CP’s the same level as the champ and we should be able to take more then 1-3 hits. I have only seen a champ go down because there where CP’s 10+ levels higher then it taking it down, can tell by the gear. I guess what this game needs is a healing class.

Not to turn this into “L2P”.. but it seems like you have a few misconceptions to unlearn.. and you need to get better at the game.

You state that champion mobs shouldn’t be able to kill you in 1-3 hits.. why? This is a very powerful opponent you’re fighting.. what kind of tension would that fight be if you could tank dozens of hits without caring?

Here’s a tip: Dodge. Champs are supposed to kill you in 1-3 hits because you are supposed to avoid/block those hits, not just stand there hoping to soak them up.

I’m curious.. what’s the purpose of running two copies and switching back and forth between the two? The only reasons I can think of all seem pretty sketchy to me.

Champions are meant to be HARD.. as in too hard to solo, even if you do out-level them.

They’re meant to be fought by groups, that’s why all their events are labeled [GROUP EVENT]

Shouldn’t you have had additional employees, with the very specific skill sets needed for this, completely separate from your core programers, working on this from the start? Why would it be put at the bottom of the basket of tasks for your main programmers when benefit/demand should have very obviously supported a small, dedicated team devoted to this project?

You could probably have even outsourced it to a proven mobile app development team and avoided the hassles of hiring new employees completely. That is still something you should very strongly consider.

Some times it feels like Arenanet doesn’t really want the game to fulfill it’s potential, but would rather just coast along on “well, that’s good enough”.

I get the impression that you don’t really understand the concept of budgets and timelines.

Or that in software development, throwing more money and/or people at problems is often not a path to faster or better results.

How is that so different from when you switched from Eredon to TC in the first place?

If an “official” RP server were created, would they be blocked from WvW or treated like any other server?

In the second case, how is that any difference from what TC currently is?

Either way this seems like a case of you wanting to be on one of the top 5 servers, but for some reason rather than just transferring yourself you want your current server to change how it plays.

On other servers those hundreds of players not participating in WvW are just scattered in other areas of the game, doing dungeons/fractals and the like.

Your active WvW population still dwarfs that of most other servers.

I’m sure the EIGHTEEN servers ranked below Tarnished Coast would love having the “severe disadvantage” of your server’s population.

I have a question for the ppl in uproar over the shatter gcd. It seems like a total non-issue to me so I must be missing something.. AFAIK shatters work like this:

I have 3 illusion out.
I press F1, the gcd starts, my illusions run to target and shatter.
I use a skill to create another illusion.
I press F3 to shatter that one.

So with the new cooldown, I have to wait .25 seconds between f1 and f3… but I do have to take an action that creates an illusion in the meantime, right? don’t those take a certain amount of time?

say it’s something really quick, like the clone-on-dodge, doesn’t that still take at the least .2 seconds? .. so is all this complaining over gcd really over something as narrow as having to wait an extra .05 seconds?
