breaking news: every map/zone/world in every 3d video game ever created is defined by a rectangular volume.
some hide it by using decor to cut the space into a smaller, less even shape, others do it with invisible walls.. but they are all “square”.

Not everyone wants to have to look up videos or read countless bodies of text on Wiki about Storylines when the gratification can be quickly delivered to players within the game.
So you want the devs to spend thousands of hours to create all these instances, just so you can walk through each of them once.. because you’re too lazy to simply read/watch all the material that’s already out there.

Think of it like a reenactment of the events that took place in Living Story Season 1 through a vision players can walk through (much like the ‘Pale Tree’ moment), except there is no fighting involved, and neither is 100+ players required to complete the events since the events are already being carried out before the player’s eyes.
You can already get that same experience today by watching the many videos out there for each season 1 chapter.
why would the devs spend considerable time and resources to duplicate that?

It only makes sense that if the Living Story Season 1 is no longer repeatable by new and old players, Anet (I am sure) removed (not destroyed) the old game code linked to the events in Living World Season 1. In other words, Anet has the game code and content backed up, for (hopefully) future implementation after re-imagining how to make it repeatable.
I’m assuming most of your attitude&opinion about this is based in you not really knowing what the content you missed actually consisted of..
MetaEvents like the Scarlet Invasions and the various versions of the LA siege required 50+ players(though most often with 100+), trying to coordinate across several simultaneous events scattered across a whole zone over the course of 1-2 hours.
how do you boil that down to something 5 players can do in an instance?
when we say the content was over rather than simply “removed”, we say that because the events weren’t just code, they weren’t just a mission or a quest… they were literal events that happened to the players. They worked because almost everyone in the game at the time was focused on those events. that is what made them special and that is what you can’t recapture just by restoring “the code”.
Furthermore, saying this is a low priority thing is a joke, because it is a big deal
It’s less of a big deal than the expansion is.

Season 1 wasn’t “removed”, it started and then ended.
The events as they happened cannot be instanced or scaled down, you had to be there.
Anet has stated a few times that they’d love to be able to extract some new instanced content to cover some of the main story elements, but it’s low priority compared to working on the expansion.
Please fix sheath cancelling for greatsword auto attackt
What do you mean by this?
“When I call you names, it’s constructive. When you respond to me calling you names, it’s toxicity”
side buttons: 1-10 skills, 11 stash weapon, 12 swap weapon.
mouse 3-4-5: F3, F2,F4
I have 5k matches under my belt…
My main suggestion for improving Practice mode is blocking access to it from people with 5k match experience.
If the goal is to improve its role as “place where newbies can learn the basics of PvP”, it doesn’t matter what the rewards are as long as you let Legendary Champions come in and farm said newbies.
Better off not having any, why should our characters celebrate Xmas for example. Xmas and the reason for it isn’t part of the game world.
Our characters don’t celebrate Xmas, they celebrate Wintersday.
are you talking about network lag(ie: your ping is really high) or skill “lag” in WvW(skills don’t trigger correctly, mostly occurs in huge crowds)
if it’s network lag, there’s nothing Anet can do about it… changing the population cap in a zone won’t have any impact on how quickly packets can get to you.
if it’s skill lag, it’s caused in part by the load on the server but also by your own CPU’s capacities. There’s no real solution to this, besides avoiding crowds that are too big.
I think adding ambient critters to the spawn area would be a better solution
Anet certainly has time frames for rollout why can’t we get rough time frames?
because the community has proven time and time again that whenever the devs give us “rough time frames” or any kind of time estimates, the community treats it as “we promise, 100% certain, with a money back guarantee, that this will be delivered at 12:01am on that date”… and then they’ll spend the rest of the time kittening about how Anet keeps “breaking their promises”.
anyone else getting fed up waiting for something else to do ?
just what exactly are Anet doing with all that income from gem sales atm ? surely not useing it for heart of thorns coz i thought we where paying for that on release
i for one am refusing to buy any more gems till you lot start with the regular content again your just taking the kitten with this lack of content you want that income from gem sales but your not willing to give us anything for it and don’t dare say your spending that money on HoT production coz if that’s the case i want it for free since we have already paid for it
Ive said it before and ill say it again Anet has handled the whole HoT production/release badly mebey next expansion you will remember The 6P Principle (Proper Planing Prevents kitten Poor Performance) get it together Anet give us something to do
You should read up on development life cycle, it should clear up a few of the misconceptions you have about how things like this work.
also, you’re very confused about the business model: whether or not you buy gems at a given point in time doesn’t have any direct impact on what’s being worked on at that time.
Now Chris Cleary, someone I really respect for being direct about data and doing his job kitten right gave the following figures regarding impacted players (the ones moving more than 500g/week via mail) : 0.175% out of which 98.228% would be gold sellers. Please note that this figure is extended on a month and more people could hit the weekly limit once in a month then not hitting it the rest of the month.
including those numbers pretty much torpedoes the value of your argument.
you’ve just told us that this “issue” will be a problem for 0.003% of the player base, which means that looking for a way to mitigate it is worth absolutely zero seconds of dev time.
rules for what, exactly?
Anet can ban ppl to discuss about things, but they didn’t so yes freedom of speech is the default rule here because Anet didn’t pronounce themselves about it. If they add in their rules of conduct that we can’t talk about religion in chat, they have the right to do it, they as of today they didn’t do that.
ya, that’s not how Freedom of Speech works, nor is it how the TOS work.
The only reason you have multiple accounts is to get around limitations that Anet have put on accounts.
Why would they create all these extra loopholes for you to get around the new system they’ve just added to curb a source of problems for them?
which is quite obviously a ridiculous schoolboy error by Anet.
Thanks for letting us know that you spent all of six seconds to think about this, you clearly have a good grasp of the elements involved.

What do you mean by “I can only enter it twice”?
What happens when you try to walk through a third time?
We read the TOS a few times, this doesn’t seems to be any kind of exploit, an organised raid if anything.
If you’re trading kills, it can be viewed as match manipulation and you could be banned for it.
It’s not really policed though.
when a player gets killed, doesn’t his loot/reward value go down for a while?
if you kill the same guy repeatedly in a short amount of time, you’re not gonna get anything from it other than a kill count going up somewhere.
so my alts can use it for lvling up.
It’s soulbound specifically to prevent you from being able to do that.
so tell us ANET, you remove Map completion from WvW, BUT you leave the vistas, Points of interests AND Skill point spots in WvW, if you’re ganna leave a job half done, Dont do it at all!
remove them, or replace map completion to WvW, either that, or make it its own seprate achievement to finish WvW map. its that simple.
your premise doesn’t make any sense.
nothing would be gained by removing these as they have their own value regardless of whether they are tied to map completion or not.
the performance hit would be crippling.
Learn to save up, it’ll come in handy in real life.
Some bugs are harder to diagnose and fix and therefor take longer.
they’re not “avoiding” anything.
Huh? There weren’t remotely this many bugs in the BWEs or initial release.
that is 100% rose-colored glasses and selective memory at work.
Personally, I played the entire game solo. There is never a requirement to group up outside of dungeons and fractals. That said, playing with a group on most anything can really enrich your experience. I highly encourage you to find a guild of people you get along with and play with them doing whatever.
Your current build is bugged on multiple levels and some aspects are downright broken. You’ve also got an entire class that is useless. Can you start working on that?
Whenever people wonder why the devs participate in the forums less and less, remember this post.
They don’t roll back updates.
There’s plenty of things to do in-game, no need to panic just because the flow of free updates is slowing down a bit and the contents of the updates are not exactly what you want.
if you’re absolutely, 100% done with everything currently in the game: awesome, take a break and go play something else.
Arenanet needs to add the topic bullying to the report option so these people can get this trash off the board.
isn’t “verbal abuse” or “abusive language” one of the current options?
Big problem for everyone who plays 15+ hours daily, please look into this.
I looked into it, and what you’re doing is extremely unhealthy.
Can you describe what WvW activity you mean by “raiding”?
lololol anet is kitten ed if they do kitten ed if they don’t. people have been complaining for ages about having to complete the wvw maps to get map completion. now they make it not required and people complain about that. as someone who mainly plays wvw I’m glad they took it out. it is quite irritating to hear every 5 mins, “but commander I need that poi or that vista”.
What people are complaining/surprised about is that they could’ve simply removed the maps from counting against World completion without removing each maps’ completion bonus.
so no, it’s not a case of “kitten ed if you do, kitten ed if you don’t”.
5 stacks of Applied Fortitude can make all the difference.
Focusing on the “fastest way to level” is the best way to ruin the game for yourself.
Have you tried working on one of the other ways to progress the Heart while you wait for the bushes to reset?
nearly all Hearts have 2-3 different activities that allow you to progress. In the case of ‘Help Cassie around the moa ranch’(which sounds like the one you’re describing) you can search bushes, escort the baby moas, go into the bandit hideout to kill bandits and pick up feed to bring back to Cassie.
Also, most Hearts have events happen around them, and progress in the event usually progresses the Heart too.

You do understand that simply saying something is a fact doesn’t actually make it so, right?
Facts are usually accompanied with hard data demonstrating that they are, indeed, facts.
-GW2 5v5 consists of 20 abilities x 10 (200) that need to be kept track of, which is overwhelming. Fact.
“Overwhelming” is not an objective state, it is subjective.
You can state that something is overwhelming for you, and that is a factual statement. You do not have any information to determine whether it is overwhelming for anyone else outside of a few anecdotal responses from other players.
-Most players ignore objectives in Hotjoin. Fact.
Have you polled a statistically significant portion of the player base to determine this?
In the case of players that admit to ignoring objectives in hotjoin, ave you determined whether that attitude is a constant or if it fluctuates based on any number of factors(example: certain maps, certain classes, time of day, etc..) ?
So the current gamemode wasn’t enough off a MOBA ripoff for Aanet? 5v5, objective based, 3 lanes/3 points?
Do you seriously think those mechanics were invented by MOBAs??
So i decided to call on for a lagfree WvW-Game Play.
I am not well verserd in IT-things…so we all should give Anet some ideas to what we need.
Somekind of an Update of the databases..maybe…
Hey guys, I think flights should definitely not take as long as they do and they should also be half the price they are now.
I don’t know anything about plains or aeronautics, but maybe if they use white wheels instead of black ones? or maybe if they put wind turbines on the runway to speed up the plans as they take off?
surely this is something that a few random internet people with zero training can figure out in an hour, right?
What difference does it make at what time the patch happens?
Because they refuse to seperate pvp and pve balancing, like they did in gw1. As long as pvp and pve balance isn’t seperated, we will never even get close to balance.
I don’t understand why people keep repeating this lie.. they’ve already done that, there are already skills and traits that behave differently in PvE than in PvP.
Why cant we que up in spvp for what we want? We choose the maps so we don’t even have to vote. You give us the option to vote why not just let us pick? That way no one has to play on the maps they don’t like.
because the less popular maps would have long queues, driving people to just join the 2-3 popular maps, making the other queues longer and longer until they just die out.
For autobalance to forcefully(ie without volunteering) swap you 30 seconds before match end.. your team would’ve had a 2 man advantage for at least 2 minutes.
I’m not sure you’re the one who should be complaining about that situation.
Just report them for botting – they will be investigated eventually.
and nothing will be found by that investigation, because the player wasn’t botting.
DO NOT DO THIS, all it accomplishes is wasting the mods time.
Now I’d like to request that there be some sort of restriction to bar at the very least entry ranked players from ranked
So am I correct in that you only want ranked players in ranked play? because.. how would new players ever cross that threshold?
also… I support this as long as we also bar ranked players from Practice mode.
Gw2 however doesnt follow that system. They just nerf whatever gets complained about the most
No, that’s really not how the balancing team works.
