Northern Shiverpeaks
(edited by GrandmaFunk.3052)
1) it’s usually the other way around, a snowy region is created and they populate it with a people whose culture is derived from real world nordic cultures, because they’re good examples of how cultures evolve from living in that kind of environment.
2) “Nordic” literally means “of the north”.
3) Some of the “nordic” regions are not covered in snow, they transition into grasslands if you go south or lower down the mountains.
I don’t really get your issue here, it’s like asking why sea zones are filled with fishermen.

2) Tie pvp and wvw back to the pve character some how. I love going in and playing pvp, but it seems disconnected.
WvW is played with your PvE character..
you’re looking at it wrong, you’re not considering that the multi-boxer takes up 3 slots of game play just as 3 players would.
It comes down to multiboxing being Pay2win.
Why should you be able to get 3times the drops, get 3times the resources from nodes, be 3 times as effective in combat as another player, simply because you paid for 2 extra accounts?
you’re not working any harder for it, you’re not playing any better.
This is the value system that GW2 was designed around, you obviously want something else so this isn’t a game for you
simple answer: there’s absolutely no way for you to make money from it, therefor it’s not gambling.
We have very different views of fairness then. Luckily Anet shares my view rather than yours.
I don’t think you’ll get any answer that satisfies you, this simply comes down to values.
While it’s a nuisance, making it a cap of like 1-2 rams per 30 minutes will only make grievers more effective. Think, if they time it just right, they can stop a whole map from using ANY rams!
huh…. the suggested 1-2 rams/30 minutes limit is quite obviously per player.
Well, assuming your statement is true, I’d be more curious as to why other games don’t also ban this.
one player = one set of inputs = one concurrent character.
If average players saw how often they were playing under DR the forums would be on fire.
Yes, because they’d realize it hardly ever affects them and they would no longer be able to blame DR for not giving them all the drops they want.
the achievements are broken into tiers.
If you mouse over the progress bar it will tell you which tier you are currently on (ex: tier 3 of 4).
There’s also an icon at the right end of the bar that tells you which tier you’re currently working on and the color of this icon lets you know if it’s the final tier.
I roam solo with my DD Ele everyday, still just as fun and effective overall as it ever was.
It’s kinda sad how so many of you set really rigid and totally arbitrary limits on your game play.
There’s so much “all or nothing” attitudes on display.
You can call a target whether you’re in a party or not.
ctrl-T, assuming you haven’t remapped it.
for all those bent on victim blaming.. this is like a scam or fraud, while the victim certainly allowed it to happen through lax security practices, it’s still the direct result of someone taking malicious action against them.
just because someone “fell for it” doesn’t absolve the scammer of what they did.
the only real change that conditions need right now to be more viable is limiting the amount of condition duration reduction that can be applied.
They don’t need to nerf lemongrass or melandru runes, just cap all the effects at 50% total
capes are simply no longer in fashion in Tyria, get with the times
/finger snap in a Z formation
I’m utterly shocked that they implemented it in such a way.
It was a guaranteed sale for me till I read this.
There have been many things that the devs have stated they are “looking into” with the promise of a future fix.
I’ll stop you right there since your premise is flawed.
Stating that they are looking into an issue does not in any way imply that a fix will come, nor is it a promise of such.
Once the devs have investigated an issue or evaluated a situation that was brought up they might determine that everything is working as intended.
“Now you’ll gain rewards for a much wider range of activities in the Mists – everything from destroying siege weapons, repairing walls, escort missions, and more.”
What do you guys think?
I think someone should tell whoever wrote this that those changes were added into the game in the last update lol.
traps look neat, very intrigued.
Since coverage mostly applies to the game when I’m not around, I don’t see why I need to care about it, it doesn’t affect my personal playing experience in any way.
and generally speaking: lower tier means less people, less people means my individual impact/contribution matters a whole lot more.
so my question to you is: if you’re a hardcore WvWer, why are you wasting your time in the high tiers?
sounds like you have major issues with your system and/or connection.
you might also want to review your target settings
How would you aim it?
would that supplant how it currently is able to target players?
well… what gave you the impression that they were bots?
What makes you think we can’t report bots? I’ve reported plenty back in the fall.
haven’t seen a single bot in 2013 so far.
pebcak, as usual
hum, i had assumed it would be active continuously, not something you turn on for a day once or twice a week.
Time Tokens being in day increments seems rather silly, and very tedious to manage.
the issue is that ALL the new content is only attainable through the gem store
Ya, this is 100% not true.
I constantly see people bashing the game and saying “but the only reason I say these things is because I care about making the game better.” If this was true, these people would jump at the chance to beta test new content. (Spoiler: they usually don’t)
Ya, that’s basically my feeling whenever I see ppl throw out the “we need a public test server!” … i’d guess that less than 1% of the players that say that would actually be the ones selflessly offering up their time to test things.
as I said, cap and despawn work together. without despawn the cap would be an even bigger problem.
I assumed you were honestly curious and not looking for a debate.. i’ll let you necro one of the dozen threads about this if you feel like arguing your point of view.
is there any valid reason for siege to despawn?
combined with the siege cap it helps prevent performance issues and limits siege griefing.
Hum… given how close the match still is… ppl will probably be fighting over the supply camp the whole time… will fight club ppl have the discipline to not get involved? and vice-versa?
Stop entering combat with mobs.
If you choose to run through the backwoods or swim through the lake, expect the fauna to take umbrage.
I still don’t understand what your problem with it is.
How do you think the skill queue system works exactly?
presumably they last until either there’s not enough ‘contestants’ left.. or till a zerg breaks up the party.
I’m pretty sure everyone in my guild will be buying those dance moves
Does this limit apply to all 4 wvw chests as a group or individually?
ie: can I still do all of 4 them once a day? or is it any single one of them once a day?
Which goes back to my point, who would be there?
would the size of the player base willing to do this be significantly larger than Anet’s QA team?
also, having a public test server means leaking the content of game updates much earlier than currently… how do you stop it from having an impact on the TP?
Because there’s a difference between a dozen large scale events and a thousand small ones?
ok so having never played an rpg game with a public test server… how is progression handled?
In my mind I assume that you connect to it with your current set-up, but that no progress made on the test server is saved.. ie you don’t level, you don’t keep any loot, etc..
given that players are constantly whining about not getting enough rewards, insufficient loot, not enough incentives to play… who would actually spend their game time in a context where they get none of the things they already feel like they don’t get enough of?
So, you think that people should focus on just timing?
That would be the opposite of what I said.
if you activate a skill that has a 1sec casting time, and activate another skill during that time, the second skill’s activation will be queued and trigger once the first skill is finished casting.
without the skill queue, the second skill activation would simply not register as long as the first skill was not completely finished.

They already do: it contains karma, xp and coins.
Create a violation report using:

try to list:
-The name of the character being reported

-The time and date of the incident (with time zone)
-A description of the offending action, dialogue, or name
-Screenshot(s) of the incident
And any other relevant details.
It won’t stay balanced for long.
based on what? all 3 servers are still within 2k of each other after 5 days.
the only thing that would unbalance the tier is a large guild like this transferring over and breaking the equilibrium.
The usefulness is that you don’t have skills misfire because you pressed it a tiny bit too soon. it helps ensure that tactical decisions play a larger role than twitch reflexes.
nothing would be gained by removing it.
- I dont want to buy complete armor-skin-sets from the AH, why not selling each peace alone for may 150, I want the top of the middle set, but then i had to throw the other parts away or have to set them in my bank, stealing place…
I’m not sure what you’re talking about since you can ONLY buy armor pieces individually on the trading post.
- How about a new mapchat? You see 4 things in the map-chat, blubbering between players (communication is a good thing, though i dislike the idiotic stuff i read sometimes…), asking questions/for help (for this the mapchat should be) and two things spammimg the chat full, annoying anyone: “lfg CM” and “event here!”… These last two should get an extra mapchat, so players searching for groups or events wont annoy others anymore and wont be annoyed by blbbering normal players.
You’d just get the same spam in two channels instead of one.
Systain is the ability to stay in battle.
That would be ‘survivability’.
I always thought ‘sustain’ referred to the ability to apply constant pressure to the opposition through damage.
as in, ‘sustain’ damage being the opposite of ‘burst’ damage
please stay away from tier 7, we’re actually balanced now.
go help Anvil Rock or Borlis Pass.

Also, hire a headhunter.
Dude, we could switch back today if we wanted to and you cant do a single thing about it. TFG…lol
If you want to base your game play and leisure time around trolling other players, sure, we cant stop you.
..congrats?
