stacks are 250 because it’s a nice round number that’s just under the memory limit. Once you make the stacks bigger than 256, they immediately use twice as much memory…and spread out over millions of item stacks… it’s not a completely trivial impact.

In WvW zergs, the Ranger mechanic is completely obliterated. How do you (Anet) plan to fix Rangers so the pet can live and fight verse large amount of enemy players
I don’t think a pet is meant to live in a battle between a large amount of players.
Rangers are scouts, skirmishers.. they should be out roaming, not dragging their poor animal companions into firestorms of aoe.

I’d rather the ranger get a locking ‘stow’ mechanic, possibly giving a small effect based on the pet. that would give an option for melee rangers that want to hack their way through a zerg.
also, it would stop the darn critters from always popping out just because you missed a step.

No, they tend to close all inflammatory BS threads fairly quickly, it doesn’t make them legitimate.
Not only were the “leaked notes” filled with misspellings, broken sentences and hard to believe nerfs/bugs… they also included many references to game states which are no longer valid.

But yeah, I don’t even understand how it’s up for debate. Go get yourself a strong AOE build and run something like grenth, once in a party of 5 and once w’o. You will probably avg 30% more drops in such a case as that, regardless of the quality of drops, but counting everything including salvage item stacks.
It’s up for debate because your methodology is wrong.
if you want to prove the effect that being in a party has on your drops you have to compare that run of being 5 in a party, and the same run with the same 5 players except without them being together in a party.
otherwise you’re only verifying if being around other players has an impact, not whether being in a party does.

However, regularly spies have reported commanders on the map to get them suppressed far before they should have been….
reports aren’t automated and I doubt they would be acted upon live.

There is a chance to get rares from the wxp chests. They are rare.
I think i have ranked 4 toons to rank 60 and have got maybe 5 rares.
I got an ascended ring in a rank 3 chest.
rng is rng.

Ah you’re talking about the rewards and being able to grind the same dungeon repeatedly the same day.
But if your complaint is that you’re bored of only finding parties for the same 3 dungeons.. wouldn’t removing the restrictions on the rewards make players even more likely to only farm the same few dungeons?
you won’t have an easier time finding a party for arah if everyone’s back to just farming the fastest dungeon all day.

being in a party doesn’t impact loot, nor does it modify what you have or haven’t tagged.
the only method to prove or disprove this is to party up with someone and let them go kill a few mobs alone while you sit idle, let me know if you ever get drops.
while sometimes it may appear that you’re tagging more mobs in a party I can assure you that in the exact same circumstance, with the only difference being whether the players next to you are in a group with you or not, there will be no difference in what mobs you qualify as having tagged.

clearly there’s something wrong with the company considering the amount of complaints on the forum about how the game’s hardly changed at all in the past year.
A: the game has changed quite a bit over the last year.
B: the overwhelming majority of those complaints are completely worthless and SHOULD be ignored.
also, most of the complaints contradict each other. if 40% of your player base tells you they want more X in the game, and another 40% tells you there’s already way too much X in the game… where does that leave you?

I don’t think “character bound” means what you think it means, because your usage of it doesn’t really make any sense… whether an item or a reward is character bound or account bound doesn’t relate to the ease of forming dungeon groups.

conditions being able to crit is a horrible idea. hybrid conditionmancers would effectively shut down the meta.
picture 15 stacks of bleeding with 50% crit chance.. that’s over 20 crits in the first 3 seconds… with Barbed Precision that would create an extra 10 stacks of bleeding
on it’s own.

As far as I can see, projectiles will hit no matter what unless you use an actual dodge/evade mechanic.
Guardians and anyone that’s fought with/against one can confirm how simple it is to just move out of Orb of Wrath’s way.
non-homing projectiles and flight time is all it takes.
It’s an MMO, not an ARPG. Avoiding the animation doesn’t avoid the attack.
it’s an online action rpg. Hitboxes are affected by animations and positioning.

What’s the deal with reward chests giving you gear that is soulbound to a character but that the character cannot use given his/her class?
is this a long standing bug or is there an alternate use for these that I don’t know about?

we have spies in wars and turn coats .
The crucial difference is that in wars when you catch a spy or saboteur you can get rid of them. griefers are impossible to deal with.

I believe the account bound status is only active till the player selects the new stat options, then it goes back to being a regular soulbound on equip weapon with those stats.
it’s a one time thing, it doesn’t become an omni weapon that you can continuously change the stats on.

You can still preview several pieces of equipment together

Players can reset traits and skills… why not have the ability to reset WxP points?
traits and skills are both capped whereas wxp masteries are not, that’s why they need an opportunity cost. You can have them all in the long term, so where you place them in the short term is what matters.

This is the exact reason why they shouldn’t be something you can reset, at least not frequently and/or cheaply.
For the masteries to have meaning, you need to make meaningful decisions about how you prioritize them. If players were able to reset them on the fly, then it doesn’t become a tactical choice, it’s just about who has the most points they can just throw at whatever task they are doing at the moment.

At 41 it bumps up to Gold Doubloons. Below 21 it’s Copper.
I’ll double check but I’m fairly certain my lvl38 only gets the gold ones now.
Totally not sure about the lower limit, though.

Assuming you mean imposing a dynamic population cap based on the lowest activity among the 3 servers..
-during periods where one server doesn’t happen to have anyone on a map, no one else can play?
-imagine an EB scenario where 2 servers have 50 ppl each ready to play, but the third only has 5. Do you limit the first servers to 5-10 players each, shoving 80+ players into hour long queues and leaving the map practically barren?

It depends entirely on the skill since ‘auto attack’ doesn’t define anything.. any skill could be set as the auto attack.
Even if you assume auto attacks is set to skill1, there’s a difference in the single use skills and chain skills.

Have to admit I love the concept of all representing guild members receiving a notice in the chat window when the WvW objective they’ve claimed is under attack.
but.. sometimes they just keeping getting pinged all day and I realize how annoying that could be. Maybe make it a separate chat channel.. ‘guild distress call’ or something along those lines.

location and concentration yes, else how are you effectively making use of fields?
also, location+time=movement. If you can’t see the zerg, how would you know when the zerg starts pulling out, leaving you alone?

If your desired outcome is to see neither the player models nor their names, then i can’t really help you… that’s not something you should want, as it hampers your tactical information.

This is an issue. When you have the new culling settings at high and turn off player names they are disabled. When you turn culling settings to low the player names show and everyone is wearing the same colored low resolution armor sets.
Please fix.
Fix what? those settings are for players whose systems can’t handle the performance hit from that many players at higher levels of quality.

Why isnt there an chat/map Transform mode you can get it which makes you invulnerable for a while, when in this form, monsters you attacked you gain health
Because if there was, players would abuse it every single time things go bad to escape death.
just chat away and let the mobs do what they will, you can simply waypoint rez whenever you’re done talking.
