I agree that turrets, and other minions, need to be affected by the players crit chance and possibly, crit damage.
They probably shouldn’t be affected by fury as that’s a boon. Summon’s need alot of help though, they’re usually too squishy and don’t do enough damage to counteract that
To help with your crit chance use Butternut Squash Soup or Curry Butternut Squash Soup and Quality or Master Maintenance Oil. I prefer the Quality and regular Butternut because they’re cheaper and their lesser effects are barely noticeable if at all
Ok, just want to say Might stacks power not duration, so FGJ alone gives permanent might.
However Fury definitley needs the awesomeness that is Signet of Rage and the extra 5 might from it is also great
I recommend not taking Signet of Strength or Fury personally. Conditions would hurt you pretty bad, I always got Shake it Off or Signet of Stamina unless there’s no conditions I need to worry about. Also, Banner of Discipline gives twice the Precision the Signet of Fury does and would increase your Critical hit damage by 15%
Healing Signet’s HPS is alot less than Healing Surge
At level 80 the 40 precision trait will only give you a few % points of Crit chance, 1-60 though it’s very powerful
For gear if you’re looking to be a bit more durable, I recommend Knight’s Gear and Cavalier’s jewelery with Ruby Orbs
If you’re using a Greatsword you want 20 points in arms to get trait X. You’ll get 1 might every time you crit, it’s incredibly powerful.
Hope this helps

Juggernaut because I have it =)
Though, killing people with rainbow unicorns is epic
I got Iron Fist once when I was trying to get my precursor. It’s the same as a crafted Hammer, like the Mithril Hammer just colored different
Alot of the Hammer skins would be awesome right now if Anet would realize that people who want to use a hammer, or at least I do, want a BIG hammer head to smash face with. And when they do make them large, they’re very thin
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Godskull_Crusher.jpg what are you gonna crush with that?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Golden_Hammer.jpg and it’s silver counterpart are cool, but too small
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Pearl_Crusher.jpg this one is paper thin
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Shiverpeak_Maul.jpg couldn’t maul a bunny.
Just some examples
It’s probably taking into consideration that you have more crit chance thus doing a minimum of an extra 50% damage more often and calculates that into effective power
Well DaddyBoJangles. It worked pretty well for me, dropped my Greatsword for it but started missing the extra dodge too much.
My utilities were Healing Surge, FGJ, SIO, Berserker Stance, Signet of Rage
When adrenaline was built full I’d use Impale>Rip>Berserker Stance>Eviscerate. I don’t remember the damage I did but was at least 10K on Eviscerate and 3-6K on Rip. I only PvE so don’t know how it works in PvP.
Sadly I can’t remember the build exactly. You could increase damage further by instead of using SIO, use Banner of Discipline and put a Sigil of Generosity on the sword or axe for condition removal.
Full Berserker gear with ruby orbs. It was pretty fun and Axe/Sword just looks cool =).
I have to agree, Frost Fang with either Jormag’s Breath would be “cool”. Try it in the mists, see what you think
I really wanted a Legendary just as a hard earned achievement for myself, and the Juggernaut is awesome.
The hardest part was definitley the precursor, which I got April 1st I think. You can only rely on RNG for it.
When I got the precursor, I yelled “I GOT IT!!” I wanted to wait for guildies to be on so they could watch me craft it but I was too excited after a 6-7 month process trying to get it.
I might go for another Eventually, will be a while though. I got Characters to gear, get armor/weapon skins I want for them. I say, since you’re playing the game anyways, go for one
Sword doesn’t pair with shield at all for damage. Main-hand sword pretty much needs and off-hand sword. I tested dual-sword/longbow condition set up in the mists. And I have to say it was one the better condition specs I tried, would run into issues though if anyone else in your party was stacking bleeds
Axe auto-attack is said to be better than Greatsword for sustain since sometimes you can’t afford to stay still to use Hundred Blades. It has the fastest attack melee attack speed in the game at 1/4 of a second
That being said, you can make a pretty powerful Axe/Sword set up. My traits were 20/20/0/0/30 I think. I don’t remember though, was about using Eviscerate alot. Impale>Rip did alot of damage. Axe/Mace is the most popular for damage though
Last thing is, with P/T/V armor, you’re not gonna do exceptional damage
Edit: In my opinion, options are as far as Axe or Sword goes, Axe for straight up damage, Sword for a condition set up
One thing you can do to not sacrifice alot of damage and have some survivability to get you more used to dodging/etc. Is to use Cavalier’s Jewelery instead of Berserker’s.
That’s what I did till I pretty much said “Forget it, I’m going full damage on my Warrior!”
If you’re looking for pure damage, go full Berserker Gear with Ruby Orbs on armor. Sigil of Force on Greatsword, either Sigil of Force or Battle on Rifle.
Best trait set up I’ve found for damage is 20/25/0/0/25. Strength: V, IX. Arms: VI, X. Discipline: V, VI
Food: Plate of Truffle Steak and Asparagus Dinner (cuz it’s cheaper than the next one up and isn’t that much worse), Quality Maintenance Oil (again not much worse and cheaper.
This is for PvE, I don’t know if it’s the best but I like it
I tried a Condition build in the Mists yesterday just to see how well Warrior could do.
Was impressed actually, 20/25/0/10/15. Sword/Sword and Longbow. Utilities were Mending, FGJ, Berserker Stance, Banner of Strength and Signet of Rage. 2 runes of the Afflicted/Krait/Lyssa. Sigil of Geomancy and Force on Swords, Geomancy on Bow
Could get up to 20 bleeds quickly and lots of burning. Bleeds were about 120 per tick and almost 700 on the burning
Think you could do some good damage with it, not GC hundred blades burst but good sustain as long as theres no other condition builds in your group
Should Shouts become Healing Skills when traited with Vigorous Shouts? No
Every class has different skill types. Warrio has Banner, Stance, Shout, Physical, and Signet skills. Banners should remain Banner skills because they are Banners, and if they changed to Physical skills they would no longer be affected by traits in the Tactics line
[FIAT] Fix It Again Tony
Ever since I changed from tank to damage, I’ve been running Greatsword/Hammer.
20/25/0/0/25 is the spec I found to give the most damage output. V, IX/ VI, X/ V, VI. Using all berserker stuff with ruby orbs. Sigil of Force on the Greatsword, Major battle (because it’s cheap), on my Hammer.
Utilities are. Healing Surge, For Great Justice, Shake it Off (might change to Sigil of Stamina because it’s only 7 longer on cooldown and removes all conditions + endurance regen), Banner of Discipline, Signet of Rage.
My usual strategy is build up might with my Greatsword, switch to Hammer (which gives 3 might), 5>2>4>3, switch back to Greatsword (with 5 extra might now) and repeat.
Plate of Truffle Steak and Asparagus Dinner (cheaper than the max, only lose 40 power and 2 crit damage) and Quality Maintenance Oil.
I spend almost all my time in PvE. Highest numbers so far is a 28K Hundred Blades and 5700 each on Backbreaker/Fierce Blow/Staggering Blow
U
WASDQE for movement. Mouse for turning. 1-6 are the same, shift 3-5 for utilities. 0 for elite as I usually just click it.
` for weapon swap, F1-4 for any F skills on any profession. V for dodging

I see Ranger the least. When ever doing PUGs an Engineer or Necromancer joins before a Ranger.
I have to say Engineer is more useful than Ranger in PvE. I do decent damage with my Bomb/Tool Kit build from what I’ve tested
Fire: Flamestrike doesn’t do enough damage to do deserve a damage nerf.
Agree with Dragon’s Tooth.
Water: Again, not enough damage to deserve a nerf.
Shatterstone needs not lock your character from attacking after casting
Air: Arc Lightning is a fine skill, doesn’t need to change. However it needs to do more damage for the time spent casting it.
Blinding flash needs to do about 50-75% of the damage Lightning Strike does.
Earth: Bleed duration doesn’t need to be lowered
Rock Barrier is awesome as is. Hurl needs to do more damage or cause 5 stacks of bleeding
I grabbed several chests earlier this morning
1UP
Would love to see it up all the time and continuously expanded on. Though I do see how the nostalgia would run out after a while. Possibly put it out every 3-4 months?
Flail’s would be cool.
Chain: Flail Swing (1 stack of vulnerability), Flail Smash (swing over head, 1 stack of vulnerability), Flail Sweep (spin around hitting 5 nearby targets. Range on all attacks 130. 1/2 second cast time
Rib Breaker: Swing your flail hard causing 3 vulnerability. 6 second cooldown. Does more damage than auto-attack
Shin Shatter: Sweep your mace low causing 6 seconds of cripple. 12 second cool down
Flail: Swing your flail around wildly in front you hitting 5 times and cause 3 vulnerability on the last hit. 15 second cool down
Head Smash: Slam your foes head with your flail, causing 2 seconds of stun and applying 4 stacks of confusion. 25 second cool down
No, don’t nerf it. It’s a good way for people to earn money and it’s no where near as fast as some people who play the trading post and make alot more gold per hour. Leave it
I’m not sure what you’re asking. Sigil of Force isn’t an on swap sigil, it’s always active as long as you have that weapon equipped and it works with all direct damage skills
Funniest moments on my Warrior all happened in WvW, was when I’d do the jumping puzzle or was completing the maps.
First Moment I was fighting with some guy by the cliff where you jump down to enter the puzzle. After we fought for a bit I moved closer to the edge, made a quick manuever around him and used Fear Me!. He Walked right off the edge and died on some rocks.
Second Moment it was at the same cliff but there were like 5 people. I was set up as a Tank then and I kept running up the cliff and jumping down in the water kiting them for about 5 minutes then got bored and let them kill me.
Final moment wasn’t really funny, but cool. Was fighting a Guardian, he couldn’t hurt me but I was beating him and he withdrew to the 2 veteran guards, and bowed to me. I let him go on his merry way after bowing back. Was a respectful fight
Depends
Warrior: No, Signet of Rage/Battle Standard are too good
Ranger: Rampage as One is awesome
Guardian: Tome of Courage ftw
Thief: Possibly. I can see a utility being better than Thieve’s Guild in single target situations but when high aoe is needed Dagger Storm is great
Necromancer: Plague is nice for the perma-blind and Lich Form does good damage
Engineer: Sometimes, I like the bandages from Supply Drop but another Utility would be good too
Elementalist: Yes, to have 4 cantrips, or to use Glyph of Storms or Arcane Shield
Boon haters gonna hate
This is probably April Fools but if you put an 8 bit platformer in Anet, I will play the heck out of it.
Only problem I see is the Frenzy nerf. I never really used it except for the final boss in CoF. Trade off used to be Kill 2X faster and Die 1.5X faster. Now it’s Kill 1.5X Faster and Die 1.5X Faster.
I say now remove the damage increase taken or lower it to 25%. If removed replace it with either: Ends when using a Utility Skill. Adrenaline can not be gained for the duration
Hmm. New weapons for every class
Warrior: Great Axe and Scythe
Ranger: Hammer? I don’t know
Guardian: Great Axe or Main-hand axe
Elementalist: Main-hand Sword and Off-hand Scepter
Mesmer: Off-hand Scepter
Thief: Dual Axes and Rifle
Engineer: Hammer and main-hand Mace
Necromancer: Scythe
Skill update. There are now 2-3 choices for the 2-5 skills on the weapon skill bar.
i.e Warrior Sword 2 has Savage Leap/?/?
Weaker professions like Ranger and Engineer buffed up a bit in PvE
Bug fixes.
Make toughness a little more effective
At 10-19 with 0 agony resistance it’s 12% per tick. 20-29 is 30%. 30-39 is 48%. 40-49 is 72%. Assuming it stays with 24% increase this time, it’s 96%. Reduced by 6 points per 5 agony resistance and maximum AR is 45. The minimum you can take is 42% health. And for 10 seconds at the maw that’s still about impossible to survive unless you have serious heals
Yes. I pretty much use Hammer/Greatsword all the time. but when necessary, I’ll switch to a Rifle or Longbow (Shaman Fractal boss), Axe/Warhorn (For running to the acolytes in CoF or any other run).
The Axe is really nice for the acolytes because after dropping aggro with everyone down the tunnel, I can run up Bladetrail>Rush *dead*>Whirlwind Attack to the next one>Hundred Blades>Eviscerate the 3rd one, and party has the 4th one dead by that time.
I keep Sword mostly for mobility for the occassional time I enter WvW. Mace/Shield don’t get used much, pretty much for running up the stairs in Uncategorized fractal
I don’t really think it’s that much better. You can already increase the banner range with a trait.
And I can’t see a build without at least having For Great Justice. I think the Tactics line is more focused on Banner/Shouts anyways because of the 30 point traits
Agreed. I think they could be something like..
5: Might, Fury, and Swiftness lasts 5% longer
15: Banners have 25 to their stats (2 to boon duration/crit damage)
25: Shouts have a longer range (750)
Maybe a little over the top for minor traits but also stuff I came up with on the spot
5% would be better but I kind of feel it’s almost a negligable increase from 3%
Not bad, only things I’d change are:
Take the 10 points out of Defense and put them in Discipline for Heightened Focus
Change food to Curr Squash soup or regular Squash Soup (only 20 less precision and 2% less crit damage and alot cheaper)
And the sigil’s you have don’t stack together
Anyone else think that this should be 10% like the Guardian trait?
Possibly the engineer one too but that takes 15 less points down the line
Make Guild mission costs scale with size
Guild Mail
Guild Capes would be cool as long as they aren’t town clothing
For my utilities I run Healing Surge/FGJ/SIO/(Endure Pain, Signet of Stamina, Banner of Discipline)/Signet of Rage
The ones in parentheses get switched out occassionally. Since that fight is pretty mobile I don’t use the banner and usually use Endure Pain since the flame pulse attack hurts a bit
Was back in Beta and I was an Engineer. Was doing that wall skill challenge in Diessa Plateau. Get to the top and I was fighting the Veteran up there, I hit skill 4 on my rifle and fell all the way down and died.
Another moment was completing fractals level 10 for the 9th time with my guild, 1 guildy got Vassar’s Band, and another got Relena’s
Hard to see. The bow shoots 2X but with the rifle you can stack 7-9 bleeds before the shield comes up and each bleed takes away a hit on his shield

^ Why it’s called Guild Wars
Hey guys I’m GW2 best warrior, nice of you to make a thread for me.
You should spec 0/0/30/10/30 use shaman’s armor/trinkets. Wield a mace/axe and a mace/shield. Use healing signet, frenzy, signet of fury and dolyak signet with rampage as your elite.
Traits. Defense: Sure-footed, Last Stand, Embrace the Pain.
Tactics: Stronger Bowstrings
Discipline: Thrill of the Kill, Inspiring Shouts, Warrior’s Sprint
Sigil of Chilling on all weapons. Rune of Svanir on armor. Trust me, I’m the best warrior because I said so
(Disclaimer: May cause character injury or death and increased chance of rage quit)
Another idea I had.
Reduce weapon skill cooldown by 3>6>10% or 4>8>12% and call it Disciplined Training
“Sorry Engineer, but your buffs are in another castle”
Updated armor alot since my first post. Sage/Graphite dye.
Barbaric shoulder/chest, Pit Fighter gloves/legs, and Draconic Boots. I want the T3 Charr Helmet eventually
Great Axe:
Adrenaline Skills: Power Attack. Does high damage, and causes 10 vulnerability
Penetrating Chop>Penetrating Blow>Cleave Chain. Causes vulnerability>Cause vulnerability>hits harder
Dismember: High damage attack. 10 second cool down
Swift Chop: Leap at your foe (600 range), and gain swiftness for 5 seconds when you hit. 12 second cool down.
Lacerating Sweep: Spin around crippling (4 seconds) and causing bleeding (5 stacks for 6 seconds) to up to 5 foes around you. 15 second cool down
Executioner’s Strike: High damage attack. Does 50% more damage if target has 8 stacks of Vulnerability. 25 second cool down.
Lance: Lance has 260 range.
Adrenaline skill: Slayer’s Lance: Attack your foe with a with a high powered attack. Causes 6 stacks of bleeding (8 seconds) if foe is under 50% health
Lance Jab>Stab>Thrust: Single Target attacks that cause bleeding (8 seconds) on each hit.
Vicious Lance: Attack foes in a cone in front of you with rapid attacks (hits 6 times) 8 second cool down
Lance Block>(Lance Shove): Hold your lance up to block the next attack. If it’s a melee attack knock up to 3 foes back. 12 second cool down
Mighty Throw: Throw your lance with all your might gaining 5 stacks of might (8 seconds) if it hits. 15 second cool down
Merciless Lance: Attack your foe with 3 strong attacks causing 5 seconds of cripple>4 stacks of bleeding (10 seconds)>5 vulnerability (5 seconds).
Just some ideas made on the spot from looking at Guild Wars skills mostly
Instead of changing your skills Rampage should double your attack power like it does and give the health increase/stability and let you use your 1-6 skills
