Hey, so I’ve started running a Phalanx build when I do dungeons with my guild, because we don’t have the greatest players and aside from pre-stacking might we don’t maintain much. I was wondering what Sigils I should have on my Greatsword and Axe Mace. Currently running Night/Strength and Night/Battle respectively. We rarely do day time dungeons
@osta, in that screenshot, you dont have the green light buff from killing a minion.
In this fight you need to kill a minion and acquire the Fragile buff, then go stand in the green light to make the Vortex fragile, then destroy it when the boss gets near
It used to be 30 seconds. There’s 2 things they can do in my opinion. Keep the rapid degeneration and put it on a 20 second timer before/after fights, or 15 second timer, degenerates how it used to
Warrior: Stance. Battle Rage, 8 seconds, attack 50% faster, and do 15% more damage. When this stance ends, for 10 seconds you don’t lose adrenaline outside of combat. 35 second cool down.
Guardian: Shield Guardian, for 10 seconds, you and nearby allies are healed for 1500ish when you lose aegis. End effect applies Aegis. 60 second cool down
Ranger: Strike as one, 15 seconds, when your pet hits with an attack, you do 60% of that damage. 90 second cool down
Thief: Shadow Shroud, 6 seconds. Going into stealth grants 3 initiative. Reveal only lasts 1 second. 120 second cool down
Engineer: Gadget. Energy Shield, create an Energy around you that absorbs projectiles and pulses AoE damage each second (600 radius). When it ends it explodes in a powerful blast (900 radius, 2X the damage). 4 seconds. Cool down 60 seconds
Elementalist. (This spell changes based on your attunement). 90 second cool down
Fire: Inferno, ground targetted spell. Lasts 8 seconds pulsing each second. Cause 3 seconds of Burning and does AoE damage.
-
Water: Aura of Restoration, you and nearby allies gain the Restoration Aura. Heal 300 health each second and cure 1 condition, and 500 health health when hit. 4 seconds
-
Air: Invoke Lightning. Target is under the effects of Invoke Lightning. Air Magic skills (and Lightning Hammer) do 20% additional damage while the foe is under this effect. 8 seconds
-
Earth: Grasping Earth. Create Grasping Earth around you (600 radius) for 5 seconds. Foes are knocked down when activated, and are Immobilized for 1.5 seconds each second. Also take damage
Mesmer: Echo, for 10 seconds, your next Phantasm Spell creates 3 of that Phantasm and Phantasms make their attacks 1 second faster. 60 second cool down
Necromancer: Awaken the Blood: 15 seconds. When you siphon health, steal 50% more health, and do 50% more damage. 75 second cool down
I run skills 1-6 as keys 1-6, since those are easy to reach. Then I have my utility skills as Shift 3-5 (3 is easier to reach while pressing shift than 1 or 2) and my Elite Skill is Mouse 3.
What about the box of piranhas? I don’t think it’s possible to train piranhas you shoved in a box to eat the face off your foe only
If it doesn’t affect you in any way, why care about it? Should be able to do anything you want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else
Not in the character creation screen, maybe 15 minutes on a character I’m making. But before I make a character I spend 30 minutes to an hour planning their Fire Emblem character cosplay
Professor Oak?
Not really, you lose a ton of damage using Axe skill 5 compared to just the auto-attack. As for an off-hand with Axe you’re better off with a Warhorn, Sword, or Mace depending on the situation. I recommend watching Nike’s dungeon build video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/TurboDzan
if i remember correctly.
AetherPath requires 5 at one point. (of which you have already discovered.)
Crucible of Eternity requires 4 for Lazer trap.
Citadel of flame path 1 requires 5 for flame Brazier room.
Citadel of flame Path 3 requires 3 for Lake of fire torches
Arah Story requires 2 for first gate lock.
Arah path 1 requires 4 for Shoggoth
(there might be more but those are what I could remember off the top of my head.)Beyond those specific traps/rooms/encounters. everything is soloable.
HAVE FUN!
CoF 1 only needs 4 with a Ranger, CoE can be done with 3 if you have a Thief.
The Axe auto-attack is more DPS than Off-hand skill 5
If they don’t want it lasting so long, just reduce the time to 15 seconds. Warrior needs to be able to retain the Adrenaline for sometime after combat. If you’re gonna make it drain immediatley, make it drain 50% slower from the original drain speed
I’ve been playing FF14 as well. Has some similarities with Guild Wars 2. Fates, some active combat. I’ve been less interested in Guild Wars 2 due to the dungeon neglect, and stuff like the assassination of the Ranger profession and overkill on Warrior nerf
imo, 6-year-olds shouldn’t be exposed to video game violence.
I don’t see the issue, as long as you make sure they know the difference between games and real life. However, I wouldn’t let them play anything like Halo (not that I’d ever really recommend any of the popular shooters). I started playing games when I was 3, with Super Mario Bros. on the NES
I soloed AC story a few times yesterday and the chests all appeared fine on my first runs before and after reset.
Also: Could just be me, but did they reduce Alpha’s health? And nerf the Spider Queen’s poison spit?
Guardian’s damage is actually superior to Warriors, I’ve been destroying stuff just fine on my second Guardian. I don’t think the lack of Aegis will make people drop the profession, compared to Warrior’s inability to really make use of a burst skill at all
If we’re gonna lose adrenaline immediatley after combat now it should degenerate 50% slower than what it originally did, not 100% faster. There was no need for any of this. If there was in PvP, split it. It’s not needed in PvE
Adrenaline was nerfed really freaking hard. I went out in Cursed Shore to test Greatsword damage, and the new Arcing Slice damage. Didn’t notice too much on Hundred Blades, but I don’t have real numbers. Arcing Slice was very underwhelming on foes under 50%. It was about impossible for me to build adrenaline on mobs alone going from one mob to the next, had to activate Signet of Fury for my Arcing Slice tests. It’s really just stupid
guys new info
some Renown Hearts will change after patch.
Taking food to feed cows were too complex, so now you only have to F-click the cows.
Taking water buckets were too complex, now you only F-click the plants.
and so on..so yeah no more fun thinks like running with water and other like that. Now we just F-click everything because this game want to be PEGI 3
I would really laugh my kitten off if they actually did this.
Newsflash: That’s actually what they did – for real.

I’m gonna go cry for humanity now
Wonder if it’ll still be worth it to bring Warrior into a dungeon after this
Yes, if you miss an Adrenaline burst against a PvE mob you have serious issues not related to the game or simply have no idea regarding the mechanics of a boss.
Not quite what I was getting at..I was more concerned about the massive damage drop (Greatsword nerf and the Adrenaline nerf really effects Berserker’s Power) and if Banners will even make up for it or am I better off bringing a different class
Not sure what’s worse:
1. The nerfing of a key skill in the one and only widely accepted PvE instance meta build for Ranger.
2. Said skill is now so worthless that it has no place on any Rangers skillbar, ever.
3. Of all the classes in the game, this happened to Ranger.
Yes to all 3. I’m not a big Ranger player, I suck at it. However this is very detrimental to the class in PvE and needs to be un-“fixed” nao
Wonder if it’ll still be worth it to bring Warrior into a dungeon after this
I’d love to see Great Axes, Lances, and Scythes added.
Warrior would be able to use all 3, Guardian could make use of lance, and Necro use of the Axe and Scythe.
I made a skill set if the Warrior had a Great Axe I forget what it was though I remember it was a high damage/high vuln stacking weapon
Frost Spirit: Ranger Dungeon Viability was here
Pretty sure it’s been stated in lore that a single Norn can take on a whole Warband of Charr
Charrberto – 5, Charr are more than simple puns =P
I have two charr, my Warrior: Grok Krog
and Engineer: Fyrus Byrne
I say interesting, because instead of occassional “I got kicked because I’m a bearbow”. We’ll probably see more because they just took a massive nerf
Gonna be interesting to see what happens, considering people are definitely not gonna want rangers in dungeons now
Awesome, now Ranger is completely useless until Frost Spirit is fixed or..something else happens?
Empowered makes since, its a minimal investment. Stick and move doesn’t. Every other class that has that trait in that spot is 10%. Engineer is 5% but it’s a major adept trait, not a minor grandmaster. Buff it up to 10% and i won’t care about the uncalled for greatsword nerf
You must now be over level 80 to do dungeons
Edit: Picture didn’t attatch
I’m not overly familiar with the class but I’ll give my best opinions from a PvE perspective
1: Group Utility is probably the main thing Necro needs in PvE. They could add a blast finisher on Warhorn 4, make Spectral Wall absorb projectiles, Blood is power gives might to allies as well.
2: Give them a melee weapon with a full cleave, though the dagger semi-cleave is good in the mean time. Life Siphon could also use a lower cast time and a damage increase.
3: Some trait changes. Like Siphoned Power is changed to “insert name”. Do 5% more damage to Vulnerable foes. Move Quickening Thirst from Blood Magic, and change it to “insert name” do 5% more damage with daggers. I would replace Chill of Death with it (removing this trait) and create a new trait for Blood Magic. Possibly a trait that lets you steal health on weapon swap (like the Sigil)
You don’t pick your stats, the level up shows your base stats increase so you have that feeling of getting something. Also it appears you get minor armor/weapon upgrade components for leveling up. Nothing special
Miku’s post is beautiful tears up. There was no reason to nerf greatsword at all
Well, in PvE, Warrior doesn’t really need the extra might. The 15% damage in a PvE build is more like an 18% damage boost counting the Slashing Power and Attack of Opportunity traits, take that away and the Warrior has alot less damage. The reason I said >5% because it would require you to build adrenaline to get the full effect and with the Adrenaline nerf coming it would be a little bit harder to use. Warrior has to sacrifice a whole lot for Phalanx, it’s not as good as the 6/5/0/0/3 build
Favorite is hard to choose. CoE is alot of fun. Least favorite is probably HotW. Also, TWC seems to give great interwebz here. Better than AT&T
If Berserker’s Power was like that, granting might, it would be an incredibly massive nerf to Warrior’s in PvE. Would be better to have it or a trait that gives a 5-7% damage boost for each bar of adrenaline spent for 15 seconds
Really a completely unnecessary change. Nerfing the key farm will probably not give Anet more money via Black Lion Keys. Becuase you’ll be better off buying gems and getting gold for them and then buying the skin you want. Still gives them money but not through the keys. For what you get, black lion keys are way over priced, they shouldn’t be more than 25 gems per key in my opinion.
Now I don’t think Anet did this for the purpose of nerfing the key farm, but it is a side effect (unless level 1-10 is unlocked as soon as you create a character)
Yay, cosplay. First 2 are The Black Knight, and Zelgius. They are the same character technically, but made sure I could switch between them. Next is Ilyana, a Thunder Mage who’s always hungry. Mia, shes eccentric and searches for her archrival. After her is Titania, the calm deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries. Finally Ike, leader of the mercenaries and legendary hero.
Hope it’s ok to have this many..I couldn’t pick just one
You want Power/precision/ferocity stats. Power being the main stat
Well, the Ice Elemental will basically give you a second heal skill according to the wiki’s numbers, 6570 on a 25 second cool down. Fire Elemental will provide extra AoE and some Might. Besides Earth being really tanky I’m not as impressed with it and Air
The age command gives the character’s hours played and how many days it’s been since it was created. Then it gives the total hours played across all characters and the days since your first character was made
Warrior is probably my favorite, but I also love Thief and Elementalist
I want the Stalwart set back. I need the shoulders from it. Please add all the PvP armors back
The full set was available only through sPvP. It was removed with the introduction of the Wardrobe (for some reason). I wish it was in though because I need the shoulders for one of my characters
I think if it modified your stats like lich form it could be considered. Triple power abd double precision and vitality instead of triple vitality and double power and precision
179 right now. Though I’ve probably spent at least 3-4K gold in this game
Could you take a screenshot of the map pulled up before selecting rewards? You still have to talk to the Scout, so that confuses me.
And again, the Warrior mobility is greater than Guardian, but I’ll agree with the power scaling.
Also, if you skip past the gates, you can skip the Tutorial entirely (or directly to the boss fight, depending on where the event is at). Pretty nifty.
I don’t have a screen, I might get one tomorrow but an example. When you do the first mission, where you fight Big Nose Ted at the bar and Andrew gets hurt. After you finish beating Ted and head down stairs and Logan starts talking after you skip the cutscene, you can pull up the map and wait for the reward to pull up over the map, accept it, then waypoint.
Another example that’s a little different, after you bring the medicine up to Andrew and go back down stairs to talk to Logan, when he says “Undercover work is tricky. To pull this off you’ll have to eat, breathe, think and stink like a bandit”. As soon as he says “think” you can waypoint because at the time the instance is over and you can grab your reward/activate the next quest on the way to it. This is the only one you do it on because on the others you get to your next destination before the reward appears
