Would be similar. I’d say players would have to hold a lane for one minute. Would be one lane invaded at a time. After the minute they have to go through the portal and fight the 5 champions. One player on each platform. The champions would be scaled down quite a bit.
I run a 25/25/10/10 LH build. S/F for the added defense
As for might stacking it’s pretty much the same as S/D but a smaller area and you need to be more precise.
You’d typically go 2>4>3>earth4(i cast 5 and 2 while waiting to be able to switch to water)>water>5>arcane brilliance if youre able (dont use it if you dont feel safe wasting your heal)>LHarcane wave
Then start auto-attacking. I believe the video I watched said 5 chains in Water Magic, then 3 chains in Fire and drop the Hammer and repeat.
Utilities I recommend Arcane Wave, LH, Signet of Fire. Don’t need a stunbreak really (sometimes you do) in PvE. You can change skills to fit the situation
I understand why it’s temporary. When we finish scarlet it wouldn’t make sense to be there. Though the fact that undead are still around doesn’t make sense either but they aren’t part of the living story. Think she could still leave it as a “present” for everyone
Armor type doesn’t effect movement speed
Warrior and Guardian would probably be easiest. Ranger is pretty easy in the open world but alot harder to be skilled at. Necromancer is also a good choice
He transmuted those weapons to Soldier’s, Knight’s, Sentinels, or Cavalier’s depending on what the stats are that he had
Emerald Blade as a Greatsword..I would spend 800 gems instantly
I remember Anet saying that they wanted consumables and enviromental weapons to be useful….wha happened?
20 in arms for Forceful Greatsword/Deep Strike
10 in Discipline for faster Signet recharge
Warrior: Greataxe, Scythe
Guardian: Main-hand Shield, Off-hand Mace, Warhorn
Ranger: Main-hand Mace, Hammer, Staff, Great Axe
Engineer: Hammer
Thief: Off-hand Sword, Rifle, Main-hand Axe
Elementalist: Main-hand Sword (real melee weapon), Off-hand Scepter
Necromancer: Scythe, Greataxe, Main-hand Sword
Mesmer: Off-hand Pistol, Shield
I can do 15-20K damage in 4 auto-attacks depending on Might stacks and stuff..much faster than 27 seconds of torment
Foes don’t really block in PvE so Short Temper is pretty useless there (except against that HotW boss maybe).
Might Defenses is really only good when get attacked alot and if you’re using Shield Stance. Which is also more PvP oriented because mobs don’t attack fast in PvE.
Maybe if the Might lasted longer on both you could consider them but Dual Wielding and the Signet Recharge will be better most of the time
Mortar needs quite a few things. Skill lag fixed. Significant damage increase. Ability to fire at point blank. Significant damage increase…
I predict they’ll change it like magic find and make it only give 3% per piece of gear. 5% on 2 handed weapons
Probably from traits.
Warrior’s 30/25/0/0/15 build will give alot more power and more crit damage than the Guardian’s 10/30/0/5/25 build.
Now I don’t know why theres a 60% difference in your crit damage. Unless both are not wearing full zerker items.
Warriors have high HP/armor because they have fewer active defenses than say a Guardian. Guardian’s have lots of blinds/extra heals/blocks/protection
Not bad suggestions but here’s what I’d like to see.
Flame Strike changed to: Lava Arrows. Fire 3 Lava Arrows at your target doing damage and causing .66 seconds of burning each hit (arrows fly in an arc. Similar to the dagger auto but not as quick. All 3 will hit in melee)
Dragon’s Tooth change to a ground target skill.
Phoenix is fine.
Ice Shards. Applies Vulnerability for 4 seconds on each hit.
Shatter Stone. Damage increased. Recharge increased. Causes 1 second of chill on placement. Still applies Vulnerability
Water Trident. Removes a condition. Heals more if a condition is removed
Arc Lightning. Make max damage happen faster (take one strike off of stage one so it gets to stage 2 faster, and stage 3 hits an extra time)
Blinding Flash now does damage. Reduced blind duration
Stone Shards: Shorter after cast
Dust Devil: Now ground targetted. Makes a Dust Devil (5 seconds) at the location. Upon casting will cause blind then apply bleed (10 seconds) each second afterwards and does damage
If this critical damage change reduces Berserker gear to uselessness. I will probably quit unless I get a free stat change on every single piece of gear I own.
Which is saying alot because I’ve always been very supportive of Anet and Guild Wars since I started playing the first one 3-4 years ago I think it was
I’ve had 6 keys drop from mobs I believe. 3 over a period of time then I had amazing luck and got 3 within a month.
You can get a key every 20 minutes with the human commoner story. Which is about a 10 gold item right now
Yes
I only like Ranger’s when they’re using the proper things.
Spotter (gets me up to the 99% crit chance cap)
Frost Spirit. 7% extra damage is nice on top of all other damage boosts
Extra Fury/Blast Finisher Might from Warhorn.
Decent Vulnerability
and a Jungle Stalker for 5 stacks of party wide Might
If anet insists on removing the zerker meta, and the meta is changed to a different armor set. Then I demand a free 1 time stat change on all 8 of my characters, not only because it would remove the way I want to play, but also because all 8 of my characters are equiped in full exotic armor/weapons and it costs way too much gold/real money to get all of the armor again + transmute it with transmutation crystals
Anet should change the the swipe and kick names to:
Lupi Kick and Lupi PAWNCH and Lupicus should shout when those are used
In phase 1 he strictly follows a rotation, he can never kick twice in a row. In phase 2 he doesn’t kick, where the swipe is the only thing threatening you as warrior.
It’s rare but sometimes he does double kick me.
As for avoiding it. After a while you start getting a feel for it. He waits to use it a little longer than other skills so if you have alot of dead time expect a kick coming or if he’s used his other 2 attacks already.
The swipe isn’t too dangerous. Dodge, use adrenal skill to refill endurance then you can dodge backwards and use the sword block for the big aoe, make use of another burst skill if needed to fill endurance
Axe.
Change range to 300. The auto-attack now cleaves and is faster(1/2 second instead of 3/4). Still applying Vulnerability each hit.
Ghastly Claws cleaves as well and does more damage due to the need to be in closer range
Unholy Feast: Steals life from all foes hit. (say 300-500 health per foe hit). Removes one boon(if removed gain a random boon) and applies cripple. Gain retaliation for each foe hit.
Not big changes. Basically making it a cleave weapon for Necro. Auto-attack should do a little bit less DPS than dagger
This trait only effects sword skills. Note how it says “10% crit chance with a sword” not while a sword is equipped. Slightly confusing though.
It won’t display in your hero panel because it’s increase is only applied to sword skills.
Personally I’d like to see it changed to actually give 10% crit chance with a sword equipped (maybe 5-7 if 10 is too high). Also to reduce cooldowns by 20%
You might enjoy my guild, RAD. We’re pretty small and family based. Not too much activity during the day but at nights we do dungeons most of the time when we have enough people on.
As for skill nothing to worry about there. Me and the guild co-leader can help teach if wanted. We have many varying skill ranges in our guild
Hey, Thief is a very fun class but can be challenging to learn.
Early on I’d recommend to use the Sword/Pistol weapon combination. One skill on it with stun the foe briefly and make you evade while doing damage. Another is an AoE that blinds foes, you can keep it up permanantley (blinded foes miss their next attack).
This set will give you some good survivability while you get used to the game and the tactical play style that is Thief. It’s my second favorite class hope you enjoy
Hey everyone. My guild, RAD is recruiting. We’re a pretty small, casual, family friendly guild. PvE is our main focus doing dungeons when we can. Our activity has dropped over the months since the game has been released and I’m hoping we can get some new guildies to play with. Located on Yak’s Bend but being on Yak’s Bend isn’t necessary. Players of any level/skill can join.
Can message me here or in game as Grok Krog
I understand the randomness of Elixir’s but they need some guarantee.
Elixir H: Heal and gain Protection(5s). You also gain either Regeneration(10s), Swiftness(10s), or Vigor(8s)
Toss Elixir H: Heal in the area for 1Kish. Gain Protection, Regeneration, or Vigor
Looking good is an exploit
I do stack him against the wall but he still moves occassionally trying to get you out from under him. Generally after his raise into the air when I go to get back under him
Sword 5 works most of the time for me. I generally dodge backwards then use it. Use a burst skill to refill energy.
Energy isn’t what kills me in phase 3. It’s not staying under him properly and him catching me off guard with a bubble of frenzied blast. Farthest I’ve gotten him is 20%
3rd auto-attack swing always gets me killed, when I know a swipe is coming I’d let the auto-attack run and prepare Whirlwind but I get smacked before it lets me Whirlwind because of the 3rd auto
Was just thinking instead of giving Stability after an interrupt they could gain a “buff” instead that makes them immune to CC for a period of time. Taking CC under that buff could make them “defiant” and gain might, protection, etc.
As for unshakeable, I can understand weakness duration being reduced (I think reducing it to 25% effectiveness would be better) but not Vulnerability. It’s not much of a difficulty reducer as Blind/Weakness
Here’s me and my guildy as Micaiah and The Black Knight in CoF..not a hard path or the best picture. Will probably get a better one at some point
I think they could change defiant to something like
Defiant: Blind is reduced to a 10% chance to miss. This foe gains Stability for X seconds after being stunned/dazed/launched/knockdown/knockedback
Exactly. We already have an in-game mechaninc that counters CC skills: Stability. So why don’t they give Bosses/champs a stability skill? If Weakness is going to make a Boss fight too easy, why not give them a way to cleanse themselves of it, rather than nerfing every skill in the game that that causes weakness/blind/vuln.
My belief is that Defiant was quick-fix, implemented during one of the BWEs.
Allowing the boon to be stripped would give boon stripping more need. You still wouldn’t be able to stun lock because the boss would get stability again on the next stun
Edit: Though I guess with a Thief you could keep it off all the time. But they could also give bosses more boons to cover with
Like other damage boosts, I believe they’re multiplicative. Though the same kind won’t stack.
So like your typical Warrior build, while wielding a Greatsword with full adrenaline, potion, night/force sigil, would get
damage X 1.1 X 1.1 X 1.1 X 1.15 X 1.05. I think
I think they could change defiant to something like
Defiant: Blind is reduced to a 10% chance to miss. This foe gains Stability for X seconds after being stunned/dazed/launched/knockdown/knockedback
My guild did this once with CoF. We waited to pick the path at the same time then see which team finished first. Don’t need a special in game thing to do it
My question is, which dungeons do you use a stacking sigil in? The ones I usually run there’s not enough mobs that get killed early on to warrant losing the 10% damage buff from a Sigil of Night
Finally got my new Warrior to 80 + his armor. I give you Zelgius/The Black Knight. Zelgius reference picture added as well
When I do spvp I have good success with 0/0/30/10/30. Hammer Axe/shield. Berserker amulet/jewel. Did run a Barbarian Amulet/Valkyrie jewel once but am enjoying the higher damage more.
I got the Might on block trait in Discipline so I can sit in shield stance to tank a bunch of attacks and launch a 15-25 might stacked eviscerate at someone
I use 1-6 for weapon skills/heal. Shift3-5 for utilities. and Mouse 3 for Elite
F1-4 for profession skills
Necro is probably the best for applying conditions
The poster forgot to mention that it needs to be a white item that you transmute it to otherwise it becomes soulbound
If the passive is to be nerfed then the active must be buffed.
Healing Signet: Heal 350 health per second.
Also gain a regenerative effect for 3 seconds (will heal about 700 each second). The active now heals for 4500.
If you’re not used to it I would definitley ease into berserker armor one piece at a time. Find groups that don’t require berserker gear. Or if you want just jump right into it and kill all the things!
Yep. A Guardian has tons of support with blinds, aegis, reflection, and depending on whats needed at the time protection/stability.
Also has access to some nice fire fields, either clearing conditions/reducing their duration or granting long stability and added boon duration for longer lasting might stacks
Full damage builds are pretty much the only way to go in PvE. Guardian has enough support without defensive traits and armor. You can still use Wall of Reflection, Hold the Line, Stand Your Ground, Retreat, etc.
Full damage Guardians can potentially out DPS Warriors.
I run 10/25/0/25/10 taking traits to maximize damage and lower my WoR cool down. Not sure if it’s the best one though
edit: You’ll want Sword/Focus and Greatsword. Vulnerability on blind trait will let you stack tons of Vulnerability to help increase the party’s DPS
