Edit: Full Zerker gear in both modes.

II and VI in Tactics and
VI and VII (or X) in Discipline

Grok Krog.9581

That would be more of a Defense trait. Tactics is more about boons/healing/etc. I like that idea though, would be great to replace spiked armor with.

Adrenal Armor: For each bar of adrenaline you have, gain 3% damage reduction.

Works well with the line considering stuff like Adrenal Health and how Cleansing Ire gives you adrenaline, even though you have to spend it to get the condition removal.

I find OMM to be very useful when you don’t have high vulnerability stack up time. My guild doesn’t have your perfect might/vulnerability stacking group. So when we have 2 Warrior’s I bring OMM instead of Frenzy or Signet of Fury (unless it’s not a boss) because I figure everyone doing 10% more damage to the boss is better than just me doing 50% more damage for around the same amount of time with a longer cool down, or just me getting a precision increase.

Elementalist is a very powerful class, has some of the highest damage with the staff build or LH build. Fun too, but challenging to level.

Necro does like in the damage department. Good at stacking vulnerability and stuff though.

Ranger Sword is their highest damage weapon. They’ve actually become a little bit more wanted in dungeons with Frost Spirit and the Spotter trait. Can do pretty good damage with Sword/Warhorn or /Axe. The only thing you’ll have ot learn with that is when and how to dodge, but if you can it’s a very strong weapon

Sounds like you need to try and make better use of your dodges. Warrior can kill stuff very easily.

If you’re in a group event, there’s probably tougher foes than normal. Which healing skill are you using? Healing Surge and Healing Signet are best for PvE. ALso if you need a couple extra seconds of survival Endure Pain is a good skill to grab. For Great Justice and either Signet of Might or Fury are also good choices to kill stuff quick.

Since you got a longbow I’d recommend pulling foes with skill 3. Using 4 to blind them and when they get close hit skill 2 then switch to Axe/Mace. You can gain alot of survivability by running around your foe while in melee.

Hope this helps

Tactics Minor Traits

Posted by: Grok Krog.9581

Grok Krog.9581

The first one is a good minor trait.

15 point: Fight For Justice. When brought to 75% health, you use For Great Justice.

25 point: Empowering Banners. Banners give a boon to allies in range on placement. (Strength: 3 Might for 5 seconds. Discipline: 5 seconds of Fury. Defense: Protection for 5 seconds. Tactics: Regeneration for 5 seconds).

Or if they want to keep with the rezzing theme.

15 point: Protect the Injured. Use “Fear Me!” When reviving an ally. 60 second cool down

25 point: Reviver’s Might. Revive allies 15% faster and give nearby allies 5 stacks of Might for 10 seconds when you revive an ally

Condition Damage and the bleed cap

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Grok Krog.9581

Grok Krog.9581

I still think it wouldn’t be as much of a technical issue if the bleed cap was removed, and all bleed stacks just showed one big number. Appearing on the player’s screen who has the highest condition damage. If the condition damage is equal then I guess it would show on the person’s screen who applied the bleed last for a few sconds

An example, if you had 100 players apply 1 bleed each on a target, and their bleeds did 100 damage (except player A, who does 105 damage) it would show on player A’s screen as 10,500 damage. Everyone is still doing their damage but it’s one big number.

As for other conditions like burning and poison, I don’t know

Stability isn’t really needed that much in PvE. Very rarely. As for your jewelery, you could just change the orbs to Ruby, will give you some more damage. And keep the bulk of the healing. Don’t think you’ll notice too much of what your off-set gives

Edit: The leap of Sword is nice, but mobs don’t run from you too much in dungeons and stuff. And besides, seeing that last big Mace or Axe auto hit is fun =). You’d probably want to go Mace to keep on your support route. Weakness is almost like party wide Protection

Some suggestions.

Replace Sword with Axe or Mace. Axe will help them kill faster with the Vulnerability, and Mace could keep high weakness up time on foes to lower damage they do.

Replace Balanced Stance with any Banner but Defense. Strength/Discipline could help increase their damage, or you could use Tactics for extra healing/boon duration.

I’d also go ahead and change your X/Warhorn to Berserker, you got plenty of Healing Power from your armor.

Also, Hydromancy/Energy sigils don’t work together. All sigils share a cool down. In this case, you would get the Hydromancy since it’s main-hand, but not the Energy. You could keep one or the other and replace the other with an always active sigil (force/accuracy/night for example)

There should be plenty of bleed uptime from passive traits and stuff in your party, so you could replace the 50% bleed duration trait with the chance to apply Vulnerability on crit

New Profession Idea

in Suggestions

Posted by: Grok Krog.9581

Grok Krog.9581

Profession: Tactician.

Class Mechanic: Rallies

F1: Offensive Rally. Ground Targetted AoE. For 10 seconds, allies in targetted area attack 20% faster. Put other Rallies on 10 second cool down. 60 second cool down

F2: Defensive Rally. Ground Targetted AoE. For 10 seconds, allies in targetted area take 10% less damage and reduces condition duration by 15%. Puts other Rallies on 10 second cool down. 70 second cool down.

F3: Vigorous Rally. Ground Targetted AoE. For 10 seconds allies in targetted area gain Vigor (2s), and are healed for 1500 (*.1) each second. 120 second cool down

Weapons.

Main Hand: Sword, Mace, Pistol.
Off Hand: Torch, Warhorn, Shield
Two-Hand: Greatsword, Lance(new weapon), Longbow, maybe Staff, Underwater Spear and Harpoon Gun

Type of skills to expect: Several snares, some soft CC (immobilize/daze), lots of short duration boons applied to allies

Trait Lines.

Bravery: Power and Condition Duration. Greatsword, Sword and Shout traits

Command: Precision and Critical Damage. Lance and Longbow would be here

Resistance: Toughness and Vitality. Mace and Shield would be this line’s weapons

Motivation: Healing Power and Boon Duration. Staff, Warhorn, and Banner Traits

Leadership: Condition Damage and Inspiration (reduces cool down of rallies by 1% per point). Pistol, and Torch Traits

Some weapon traits would be in other lines besides the designated ones.

Skill types.

Banners: Instead of stats like Warrior’s Banners, could pulse boons to allies and conditions to foes. Probably have the same cool downs/duration as Warrior Banners

Banner of Bravery: Give allies 3 stacks of might for 8 seconds every 10 seconds and put 2 seconds of burning on foes.

Banner of Command: Give allies 5 seconds of Fury every 15 seconds and apply 5 stacks of vulnerability on foes for 8 seconds

Banner of Resistance: Give allies Aegis for 3 seconds every 20 seconds and apply Weakness for 8 seconds on foes

Banner of Motivation: Grant’s allies 5 seconds of Regeneration and cures a Condition every 10 seconds and cripples foes for 3 seconds.

Do not stack with other Banners of the same type

Shouts.

“Shields Up!”: For 2 seconds, nearby allies reflect projectiles for 2 seconds and gain 6 seconds of Protection. 60 second cool down

“Find their Weakness!”: Give allies 5 stacks of Might and Fury for 10 seconds. They apply Weakness (3 seconds) with their next attack. 30 second cool down

“They’re on Fire!”: For 8 seconds, allies do 10% extra damage to Burning foes. 60 second cool down.

“Brace Yourself!”: Give nearby allies 5 seconds of Stability and 3 seconds of Aegis. 35 second cool down

Traps.

Smoke Trap: When a foe triggers this trap, it creates a Smoke Field and causes Weakness (2 seconds) every second. 6 seconds. 30 second cool down

Acid Trap: When a foe triggers this trap, it releases a pool of acid applying Burning (1 second) and Poison (2 seconds) and does damage (full zerker gear, no might, about 800 on crit in PvE). 5 seconds. 30 second cool down

Explosive Trap: When a foe triggers this trap it does an AoE launch and high damage. 60 second cool down

Snare: When a foe triggers this trap they’re Immobilized (4 seconds) then Crippled when it goes away/is removed (6 seconds). 30 second cool down

Would have 1-2 other skill types but I can’t think of any.

Elite skills.

Shout: “For Victory!” Give nearby allies all boons for 8 seconds (3 Might). 80 second cool down

Know your Enemy: Nearby allies gain 3 seconds of Evasion. 75 second cool down.

Reinforcements: Summon 2 allies for 10 seconds. Randomly rolls for each profession. They do normal attacks but have one special skill they activate upon summon

Warrior does higher damage: Uses a Greatsword. Rushes foes for hard hits and knocks a foe down for 1 second and hits hard

Guardian does minor damage: Has Mace and Shield. Put’s up a Shield of Absorption for 2 seconds

Ranger applies 1 random condition on attack with 2 second durations: Uses a Longbow and applies 5 random conditions (4 stacks of bleed, 2 stacks of confusion if those are chosen) on foes for 5 seconds

Thief high damage: Uses Daggers. Get’s behind foes to hit them hard while evading

Engineer medium damage: Stuns nearby foes and chills (4 seconds)

Elementalist high damage: Creates a random Glyph of Storms skill (earth and fire last 3 seconds)

Mesmer minor damage: Creates 2 random Phantasms to fight

Necromancer medium damage: Summons 3 random minions. None of the same though

All of these were created on the spot. Some stuff might be UP or OP but I think it would make an interesting class. Has alot of Paragon influence

I think they could remove the cap on bleeds and let them keep stacking, but it would just tick as 1 big tick every second for the player that has the most bleeds applied (say, 50 bleeds are stacked and they all do 100 damage each) player A who applied more bleeds than anyone would see it tick for 5K. If the game can handle a hundred or so people smacking it with physical damage and condition damage, then it should be able to handle something like that I think

Depending on your keyboard changes the difficulty of pulling off a dodge jump.

On my old 10 dollar keyboard, I could pull them off flawlessly because the spacebar was slightly higher than the V button, making it a bit easier to do the jump. Now on my GW2 keyboard it’s a little bit harder because the spacebar is just a bit lower than the V button.

To do a dodge jump, you have to hit spacebar, then dodge immediatley. Practically simultaneously. I hit spacebar with my thumb first followed by hitting V with my index finger V. To practice, I’d just run around LA or something pulling off dodge jumps. It’s fun to dodge jump anyways. Hope this helps

It's time for dual swords to shine

in Warrior

Posted by: Grok Krog.9581

Grok Krog.9581

  • I have made some alterations with the popular suggestions. *

Dual swords not only make you look sexy but they have the prospect to become one of the most loved weapon sets for warriors.

Weapon skills:

Sword mainhand:
1 – Sever Artery + Gash + Hamstring:
Include the offhand sword in the animation.

2 – Savage Leap
Correctly deal damage and condition out to 900 range.

3 – Final Thrust
We all know how kitten the animation is on this, so that needs a change. With it’s current cooldown it should have 1/2 second cast time. Otherwise reduce it to 10 seconds and keep the 3/4s cast, 100b (gs2) 8s(6s traited) and whirlwind (gs3) gets to be 10 second(8 seconds traited) why shouldn’t this be lower?

Sword Off Hand:
4.1 – Impale
Increase the direct damage to 252 while inflicting 3 stacks of torment and changed to 15s not 12s.
4.2 – Rip
Change name to R.I.P. Skill is now a leap finisher gap closer with 900 range with a 1/4s stun. Make it a cool animation like take a couple of steps and then leap at the target. The debuff applied to denote a target has been impaled needs to have a stack function so that multiple warriors can execute the next skill in the chain.

5 – Riposte
Rename to Parry. Add if a projectile is blocked it reflects back to sender, if block non projectile ranged attack then it’s absorbed as adrenaline. Keep second skill same.

F1 – Flurry
Include the offhand sword in the animation. Increase damage maybe close to eviscerate due to being able to attack with more hits in the same amount of time. Think of 100b but a dual sword flurry.

Traits:

Arms:
Blade Master (VIII)
Gain might on critical hits when sword in offhand equip. Sword skills recharge 20% faster.

All skills stay the same unless changes are listed. Don’t forget to +1 this post

Edits:
Changed 4 skill set to 4.1/4.2.
Changed bleed on 4.1 to torment and fast animation needs to be used.
Highlighted that 4.1 needs to be stackable non cleansable debuff.
Skill F1 needs to have higher damage due to extra weapon being used.
Corrected a fix for skill 2
Clarified 4.2 skill

First I’ll say that off-hand weapons being brought into auto-attack animation is a completely different issue.

The 600 range leap on Savage Leap fits the cool down especially if a trait is put in place to lower Sword cool downs, 900 might be too much I think

Final Thrust could be a bit faster and have a lower cool down. It’s also only really useful to foes under 50% so, a lower cool down on it wouldn’t be overpowered. 12 seconds would be fine. I think it should also do an extra 25% damage to foes under 25% health.

So, normally it would do 5K, under 50% 10K, then 12.5K under 25%

I think Impale is fine. Rip could maybe hit a little bit harder.

Riposte is a classic Guild Wars skill for Sword, changing the name would be injustice. It hits pretty hard when blocking a melee attack and adds 4 bleeds for a little extra damage and against ranged attacks it’s like a 2 second shield stance on a much shorter cool down. I think it’s fine.

Flurry definitley needs a damage increase. It’s pitiful right now and the bleeds don’t last long enough. I think you should evade for 1/2 second when using it as well. Eviscerate damage might be too much for this skill, I think if it did half of it it would be somewhat useable especially with your Blademaster trait change

Lance Skills. Lance would be 160-180 range, and have a smaller AoE cone on the auto-attack

Adrenaline: Run Through. Charge through your foes (600 range piercing rush skill). Cause 3 stacks on bleeding for 5 seconds on each foe hit (works like Whirlwind attack against a wall, not quite as powerful though)

Skill 1: Jab>Stab>Triple Strike. Jab at your foes piercing through them>Stab your foes piercing through them>Attack your foes 3 times, causes 2 seconds of cripple>weakness>2 stacks of vulnerability for 5 seconds (first hit>second hit>third hit)

Skill 2: Slayer’s Lance. Thrust your Lance downard at the targets face causing high damage. Does more damage the less health the foe has (10% <50, 25% <33, 50% <25). 10 second cool down

Skill 3: Mighty Throw. 1 second activation. Throw your Lance at your target, piercing any foe on the way. Gain 1 Might for each foe hit (4 seconds) and knockdown your target for 1 second. 15 second cool down (900 range)

Skill 4: Lance Defense: Block the next attack and retaliate with good damage and causes 3 stacks of Bleeding for 8 seconds. 18 second cool down

Skill 5: Merciless Lance: Stab your Lance into your foe and cause high damage over time. (say full zerker in PvE would get around 4K a second). For 5 seconds. 25 second cool down.

Traits: Obligatory cool down reduction and Lance attacks have longer range (say if the attacks were 160, they’d go up to 190. Mighty Throw goes up to 1K)

These ideas were made up on the spot for fun

Adrenaline Skill: Decapitate, does high damage, each bar makes the damage increase from Vulnerability for this skill 1.33>1.66>2X more effective (so if the target has 10 Vulnerability, when this skill hits it’s like having 13>16>20 Vulnerability)

Auto-attack chain Penetrating Chop: Does damage and causes 1 Vulnerability for 6 seconds. Penentrating Blow, same damage and causes another stack of Vulnerability for 6 seconds. Agonizing Chop: does more damage then the other 2 previous skills, and applies 2 vulnerability for 6 seconds

Skill 2, Executioner’s Strike: High burst damage skill, 10 second cool down

Skill 3, Charging Strike: Leap at your foes (600 range), with a powerful swing, gain 3 Might for 5 seconds if you hit, 12 second cool down.

Skill 4, Rending Sweep: Swing your Greataxe 360 degrees, causing 5 Vulnerability for 8 seconds, and doing high damage. 20 second cool down

Skill 5, Power Attack: Swing your Greataxe as hard as you can, doing damage and knocking foes down for 1 second. 30 second cool down

Executioner’s Strike could maybe apply 3 stacks of Vulnerability like Ranger’s Maul, and Rending Sweep could be the big Vulnerability applier and do 10 stacks for 8 seconds

Those are my ideas for Greataxe, I’ve posted them before. I think the third attack in the auto-attack chain could also be like Guardian’s Hammer, take a long time to swing but hit like a truck. Say as hard as Axe’s final auto-attack hit

I’d also like to see Warrior get Scythe’s and Lances. I can’t think of any skills for those right now

Would make running in dungeons even easier if it wasn’t there. From what I gather, in combat it’s a 33% speed reduction. Swiftness puts you up to normal running speed. If there was no speed debuff, and you had swiftness. You would fly past all foes in dungeons that were run pastable.

Same thing in the open world, would make it to easy to run away from fights though usually you can run through tons of foes anyways.

While annoying especially on jumping puzzles, I’m sure there’s even better reasons it’s there than what I’ve provided. I do wish they would remove the in-combat when taking fall damage

Considering how melee oriented dungeons are with stacking and what not, I think you’d get more damage out of 10 points in Earth and taking the 10% damage while within 600 range of your target than the 10 points in Water

It’s 50% against stunned foes (not knocked down, dazed, knocked back, etc.). We only have 3 skills that stun. Earthshaker has a big animation, and Shield Bash only lasts 1 second

30/0/0/10/30 will give you the most damage. Axe/Mace and Greatsword are the highest damage weapons. Though I like Greatsword/Hammer or Axe/Axe and Hammer.

When you get to level 80, you’ll want Berserker’s armor (Power is the highest stat, with Precision and Crit damage as secondaries)

If you go Axe/? and Greatsword, pick traits V, IX, and XI in Strength. II in Tactics, and VI, IX (or VII), and XII in Discipline

Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to order it. I had mine pre-ordered and got the keyboard + the mouse free. Think it was 2 weeks ago or might’ve been last week
