Finally getting my post in. First up is my Guardian, in her non-cosplaying outfit and her cosplaying one. Next up is my Mesmer, same thing w/out>with cosplay. Finally is my newest character, pairing up with my brother’s Micaiah character to try and make a scene where Sothe is looking out for her. The one I’m entering in that picture is the Thief
No…you still gain adrenaline just as fast as before, so filling the bars isnt a problem. They are most effective at max power, so using adrenaline would reduce this (which is why they are not often taken into WvW/sPvP)
Aside from some pure zerker power builds that get destroyed in a few seconds, these traits don’t have a place in many others.
What part of them do you feel is underpowered afterward the patch anyways?
– using adrenaline on burst skills? defeats the purpose of the traits all together, it is a slow ramp up in power until you ultimately spend that power and have to restart. Which leaves many other traits in a much better position.
– losing adrenaline out of combat? wouldn’t even matter…not like you are fighting anything…You make it sound like this huge nerf, as you call it, will be the end all for anything that uses adrenaline, and you couldn’t be more mistaken.
Being able to start a fight with full adrenaline is a pretty nice damage buff in PvE. Like activating Signet of Fury at the start of the dungeon before you’ve entered combat to max out your adrenaline and it’ll be recharged before the first fight. Or having it for 30 seconds inbetween each fight lets you maintain that DPS boost.
I agree, not only should they be available do to the wardrobe system and being able to unlock skins, but also because my new character is in desperate need of Stalwart (the medium PvP armor) shoulders
Doubt I could win but is it ok if there’s more than one person in the screenshot?
Finished another Fire Emblem Cosplay toon, this time Sothe. Excellent character, using his Whisper character model for this one. If you look at my 3 pictures though, you’ll see why I desperately need anet to bring PvP armor skins back.
Armor is Sneakthief chest, Stalwart Gloves, SE legs, Noble Boots. Komalie’s Sacrifical Dagger for weapon. Dyes are Green Shade, Mist (the trim on the chest). Tarnished Steel, Black, and Pottery for gloves. Chocolate, White, and Black for legs. Tarnished Steel, and Mushroom for boots. If the Stalwart shoulders were still around it would be Green Shade and Mist. Please make me happy and bring back PvP armor, you could make it one of the reward tracks in PvP. “PvP armor reward track. Upon completion select 1 PvP only armor skin”
Yes
I think they look nice, however they don’t fit any of my characters. I wish they would’ve done unique skins on all of them instead of (as far as I’m aware) just the Axe. I think it’s cool that they brought a classic skin like the Chaos Axe back though, and made it look even better
If they’re moved down to Adept I’m sure they’d have to be reduced to 4>8>12%. But in turn I’d like to see our Grandmaster Minor Trait in Strength, known as Stick and Move, increased to a 10% damage increase instead of a measily 3%. Warrior is the only class that has this trait (in it’s placement) that is not 10%.
Engineer is the other one that is not 10% but it it’s an Adept Major Trait. Would be fair compensation I’d say, from a PvE perspective
This change does allow for more varied use of Cleansing Ire. Because it’s every adrenaline bar spent, doesn’t say you have to hit.
Edit: Nevermind that part ^. Just read that it doesn’t work like that
What I hate is the not keeping adrenaline after combat. This is a PvE and PvP nerf
(edited by Grok Krog.9581)
I like the night. It’s not SWG Dathomir. I don’t need it that dark to feel like it’s night
I’m not a fan of losing my adrenaline as soon as I’m out of combat either. Maybe enough people will complain about the Hundred Blades nerf and we’ll be able to move while using it.
Also: Potential cleave for Necro incoming?
Awesome. Thank you. If I could ask another question, if there were 2 Warriors would the other bring the same thing?
I guess I was misinformed. What should the traits be without Empower Allies (assuming you’re the only Warrior). I’m assuming the 6/5/0/0/3 even when using the all Greatsword build or 6/6/0/0/2
Just noticed that..I thought those were it cuz the spore event actually works now
With these kinds of patches they add posts to the main patch. Check Game Update Notes – July 29, 2014 last post
No one has had a doughnut till they’ve had a Round Rock doughnut
I think it fits, considering females (in most cases) are not as strong as males, and since greatswords are like as big as your character or bigger seems logical. I actually like it better. Seems like it’s more prepared for a strike compared to the over the shoulder with males
I’d say there are non-DPS roles while you’re playing DPS. A few examples.
Guardian: Even playing with the meta traits and berserker armor, using proper weapons. You still have the job of using Wall of Reflection right, timing aegis, blinds, condition removal from virtue of justice.
Warrior: Maybe not the best example but you can give AoE swiftness on runs with the warhorn and remove cripple/chill/immobilize on runs. You keep the party buffed with your banners so they can do more damage
Ranger: Not super familiar with them but I know that you gotta place Frost Spirit properly so it’s not destroyed and not using a bear + longbow is more support than any other class in the world can give.
Thief: Stealth for skips, blinds for trash, a nice wall if you lack reflects. They can put out alot of weakness too if it’s needed for damage reduction
Engineer: Great at might stacking and keeping vulnerability up so the group can kill faster thus putting them in less danger. Like thief they have some stealth for skips. Some AoE healing that they don’t have to specialize for. They also have projectile reflect/absorb.
Mesmer: Again, not too familiar. They bring reflects, a good pulling ability to keep foes balled up. Timewarp is pretty good. Also minor stealth for skips
Necromancer: Not the greatest group supporter, but they do have blinds and weakness. Good at stacking some vulnerability
Elementalist: Tons of might stacking, the amazingness of FGS and Frostbow. Lightning Hammer provides some blind support. With staff there’s some control skills for skips like Earth 4. Also FGS cuz one mention isn’t enough
Think I got all that right
It wasn’t working for me. Then Anet patched it and I was happy. I went and tried it, and there were mobs there. Me and others killed the first wave then..nothing. And I haven’t seen a single mob there since
Alright, I’m gonna assume the most common subscription payment is 15 dollars a month.
How to give GW2 a non-mandatory subscription: First month, player that wants a “subscription” buys 10 dollars in gems. The next month he buys 20 dollars worth. That way, he’s spending on average 15 dollars a month. And can buy all sorts of gem storey things
I don’t think I could drop any class, they’re all Guild Warsy, even Engineer.
I could see a Dervish type class (renamed to Enchanter or something)
The Dervish class could focus on Enchantments. It’s profession skills could be Vows
Vow of Strength: While commited to this Vow, you and nearby allies do 5% more damage
Zealous Vow: While commited to this Vow, you and nearby allies regenerate endurance 30% faster and gain 10% critical damage
Vow of Silence: While commited to this Vow, you and nearby allies take less damage from critical hits (or something, I’m just thinking on the spot here)
As for Enchantment skills, you would activate an Enchantment, gain a passive effect and it changes to another skill, which rips the enchantment, giving you and possible group members a more powerful effect.
Example: Mystic Regeneration. Heal skill. Activate, heal yourself for 700ish, gain the regeneration boon for 10 seconds, and heal 280 health each second. Changes to Pious Restoration. Heal skill. Rip your enchantment removing 2 conditions from you and nearby allies and heal yourself for 5K
Weapons to wield: Sword, Focus, Scythe, Greatsword, Longbow, Warhorn, Staff, possibly Shield
Well, conditions usually aren’t too much of a problem in PvE, generally better off with a more powerful heal. As for banners there’s usually breaks in the important fights long enough to not worry about the cool down too much. It’s only 28 seconds. But still, yours is in a good direction, good job
Swap Mending with a better heal, change Inspiring Banners to Empowered, sigil of Battle to Night and the other sigil to Strength, Force, or Dungeon related sigil (I think Strength is best for this build) and you got a great build if your party lack’s might stacking. Definitley useable
Ranger and Mesmer make the primary use of Sword. Thief does but just for groups of trash mobs or where more AoE is needed. Warrior only makes good use of it in the Off-Hand unless you’re using the dungeon solo condition spec. It’s Guardian’s highest DPS weapon as well
Edit: Sword does cleave for Ranger, it’s not single target
I’ve ound the fastest class to be Guardian. Make sure all your armor is Mighty, you should have 4 different runes on it that give +10 power. Sigil of Justice and Bloodlust on your Greatsword. Do stuff like having your map up before your reward appears to save time (for undercover mission after logan says Eat, Breathe, Stink go ahead and go to the next waypoint, accept your reward on the way to the next spot).
Having a Golem Banker does increase your time by alot. You can save time in the intro mission by not talking to anyone, you don’t have to
Edit: Forgot, Riceballs are amazing. Gives you an extra 20 power

I remember in beta, I was playing my Engineer in Diessa Plateau, doing that Breached Wall or whatever jumping puzzle. Me and this other guy get to the end and as we’re fighting a group of mobs, I thought it was a good idea to use Overcharged shot to send myself flying down to death
T6 is 24 hours. T5 is like 30 minutes to an hour I think
I’d like to see Greataxes, Scythes, and Lances added
If you think your kid could play let em play, I think Guild Wars 2 might be a bit easier to get into with the far less skills and stuff. Only thing is I’d be wary of Orr, I would’ve found Risen horrifying at that age
I think I did. Well I joined the group but a Warrior went into Mist Form while doing the CoF p1 gate. Which only means one thing, Runes of Vampirism
Hurting your group if you don’t give em some might stacks. If you want minimal Might stacking, best go staff. Then you all you have to do is: Start in Earth Magic>2>Fire Magic>2 where you placed Earth 2>Arcane Brilliance/Wave then pretty much spam Fire 1 2 and 5
Just found a green one in Dry Top.
Tested it by running along another player throughout the length of the Dry Top canyon.
Could not outrun him.
In fact, we had the EXACT speed.
I have the 25% sigil.
Either is bugged or I am missing something.
Movement speed effects don’t stack
That’s pretty much the bane of me any time I try to solo. Even on the wall he moves around and I get blasted
To me, Human female sounds right. Like shes yelling retreat as loud as she can to get everyone to flee from a dangerous situation.
My guardian, however, is Norn female and she sounds like “Retreat…I guess? Or whatevs”
You have to look at the situation and adapt. Someones downed but you notice a mob with low health, you should burst that mob down because they (should) have hit the mob while up and it will rez them.
Against something with alot of health like a boss, you’ll want to rez but only if it’s safe. If not safe leave them to die.
If dead, you should pretty much always just finish the fight. If they’re absolutely necessary, you could attempt to kite the boss away while someone rezzes the dead necessity
If I had to pick my top songs for PvP, or dungeons or Tequatl.
Game On – Disciple
Storm the Gates of Hell – Demon Hunter
Light up the Sky – Thousand Foot Krutch
Wounded – The Letter Black
and Live to Die – Bride
After you defeat Kasha, you can place a rock on the pressure plate and pick it up while not standing on the pressure plate, the doors will stay open till you step on a plate. You can then pull one of htem into the hallway and close the doors so you only have to fight one at a time. Or do like I do sometimes and just rush them over and over cuz they don’t start regenerating fast enough, but I’m on a warrior
Aragorn was a Ranger, and used a sword. Just saying
Only way I could see Hammer being used is to have it equipped, pull foes, press 2 to apply weakness, switch to Greatsword, and camp Greatsword.
I only see this useful in something like high level fractals where you take far more damage and even then, you could have Sword/Warhorn equipped instead, hit more foes with weakness, get a blast finisher, and provide Vigor
Engineer is probably the best user of Racial skills. At least in PvE, cuz their elite sucks.
Norn is a good race for bear form, you get like a mini FGS on it.
Asura get an offensive Golem.
Human, Hounds of Balthazar
Charr, Artillery Barrage maybe? Still better than Supply Crate imo
Sylvari. Any of the elites possibly, I haven’t used em though.
Or, like on my Engineer, I use Mistfire Wolf
That part when you kill Rurik. Yah, I liked that part. Alot
Here’s a link me and 2 of my guildies made to make giving out some (most?) of the meta builds to our guild members
tinyurl.com/pcj25jx
You should be able to redo it as much as you want. Cuz you can start part 2 over and over again
I wanna know why they make these foods so expensive to make (Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup, Bowl of Prickly Pear Sorbet, Plate of Roasted Cactus) when they only give out 1 item. I could understand if they gave 5-10 but only 1? It’s ridiculous
Now I could see using 6/4/0/4/0 instead of 4/6/0/4/0
Well I’m running the Greatsword EA build, and I’m pretty sure that out DPS’s the Axe EA build
I got a question. Would it be a DPS increase to use Arcing Slice on a single target if you do not have Berserker’s Might? It does almost 2X the damage of an auto-attack I believe
Even with Cleansing Ire/Zerker stance you can get overloaded with conditions. If you add a cooldown (which I can understand 10 seconds). It needs to be changed to remove conditions before the hit so it can work with any weapon while blinded
