My general PvE build. Keeps me alive very well, lets me run around playing and doing whatever’s around without too much fear of being downed, and having fun
Life Siphon direct drain/heal.
Well of blood, convert corpse to healing well.Edit: on second thought, basically I miss the entire Blood Magic line. BM as implemented in GW1, to me defined the necro, and was completely gutted in GW2.
This. I used to spam Life Siphon and Life Transfer. It was awesome.
Two looks for Ross…. I prefer the Lich look… but it may get too popular after Halloween if they re-release it, so I got him some bladed armor to go with his Reaper Hood… and the Trickster’s vest….
And the Ghastly Glow, and “The Crossing” on both looks of course…..
May change the armor look… may not…. O.O
(edited by Gryphon.2875)
Played a Necro in GW1. I always play a Necro, but GW2’s may be my most favorite. I don’t die
I heal with every hit, every well, every minion munch, and every time I rez a player. I walk into a field of Pocket Raptors where some Ele or something is downed, quickly switch to Shroud, suck the little buggers dry, then rez the dude. I walk out without a scratch. I solo Champs in PvE.
The only thing that can kill me is falling without Gliding properly ;D
No other class I play can I just go out and do ANYTHING and get away with it.
Oh, and I love “The Crossing.” Perfect Staff for a Necro, sexy as hell.
Necro forever
((No, I don’t PvP, so I don’t / can’t comment on that.))

I’m not asking for any major art changes to new LA.
What about the simple addition of a Lion statue where the old one used to be?
What about some Storyteller NPCs so all the work that the artists went to is still appreciated?
What about centering Festivals in LA again to restore some significance to the city for players?
See? No huge artistic changes to make. Just a few suggestions to help make the city loved by more people again.
(I miss my Lion!)
“Lion’s” Arch does need, you know… a LION.
The old GW2 LA had more of a lived-in feel, and felt like it was designed by a real artist. It was perfect, from the platforms to the mini-mazes to the sewers, and everything in between. I loved exploring it.
This new one is EPCOT meets Sea World. Boooorrrrriiiinnnnng.
Sounds like WildStar had the same system as SWtOR has. Nice. Yes, we could use one like that.
My home instance is my guild. Literally. I dumped a heck load of gold into scribing so I could craft myself a bed, table and lamp so my quiet corner of the city would be a “home”.
I just wish Anet would allow players to loot unlocked nodes in guild halls instead of their home instances so I could “move” into my guild hall good and proper -.-
I wish Home Instances were as customizable as Guild Halls.
A scar – chest skin!
Big ugly scars! Maybe topless, maybe with very little clothes or even with compleath clothes that just look like they are destroyed in a battle!
You know how well the face-scar skibs sells and how well the missing leg/hand pirate skin sold – a scar chest piece would sell similar!
This… or GW1 Necro Scar Armor available for all classes.
Let yourselves be inspired by the Charr in the middle with the bandoliere. ( I mean you own that particular piece of art anyway
) A chest piece that’s mostly just a harness for ammunition. ( Something that would let fur patterns/skin show through.
Check out the Scallywag Chest for males; it might help satisfy you in this regard: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scallywag_armor
~EW
Something like this for all classes, but lacking the arm coverings.
- Shared “toy box” with 20 slots for all our tonics, broomsticks, bobble-heads, kites..etc…etc (could be a gem store item
)
This!
Your Mad King says….Farm the Labyrinth! :P
… yes.

1. Reduce /emote distance to that of /say
2. Allow toggling of /emote display on and off, without being connected to presets like /wave and /dance, etc.
I tried shadow purple and swampblack for my Necro’s glider… Seemed to turn out cool.
I want Lord Faren tamable in Maguuma, in his Jungle Outfit. And I want to add a collar.
Would be awesome, especially shirtless. GW1 scar armor, for example, was great.

And 15 characters to boot.
Can you PLEASE add the speedo as an outfit soon, I’m kittening begging you. Every day I wake up and log in, I see my character and he STILL ISN’T WEARING A SPEEDO and I die a little more on the inside. I will pay anything.
Yes, yes yes.
Or a “Jungle Faren” outfit
Other suggested outfits of this type: Skeleton, Skritt, Dredge, Dwarf, Kodan, Risen.
I’d be so up for Skeleton and Risen
Downvote into obscurity. There are so many reasons for which this is a bad idea, and I honestly can’t think of one positive reason in support of it. There is already a legitimate way to handle AFK farmers (report and move on).
I’d also like to remind OP that the game bases a user’s inactivity on whether they have moved or used a skill in a set period of time. Therefore, if you are standing still in LA and having an in-depth conversation with others on map chat or guild chat, or both, at a certain point the game will tell you that you will be kicked for inactivity unless you move or use a skill. So by your suggestion, players who are actively engaging with the game would be considered AFK and thus get their accounts suspended simply because they weren’t fighting mobs or running around aimlessly.
Again, downvote into obscurity.
… suspended for using the trading post, because you forgot to jump up and down like an idiot every so often. Yeah, no.
“I was unstuck from whatever weird state of existence I was in and able to manifest a physical form after absorbing a ton of magic”
Silly. That makes perfect sense to me. Excelsior!
Does it actually say the Gods created the Bloodstones? It’s possible that the Seers made the stone, and since the Gods were aware of it, they used it for the specific purpose it was made, to suck up and store magic indefinitely.
Very first sentence:
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/BloodstoneClearly proof that the Gods were actually the Seers. Who knew
Or, as on Earth, Historical accounts are never really accurate. We need a time traveler.
:P
i have a theory:
SPOILERS FROM LIVING WORLD!
we’ve heard that when dragons die their magic spread between the remaining dragons,
so currently Primordus, Jormag, Kralkatorrik and S________(sea dragon) all have a portion of Zhaitan and Mordremoth’s magic.
this isn’t just raw power this is abilities too, including the biggy from Zhaitan,
raising the dead!i hypothesis that when we have defeated all but the last dragon it will be super powerful after absorbing the magic from all of the rest, so powerful that it will use it’s reanimation magic to reanimate the fallen carcasses of the other dragons,
and the final battle will see us fighting the one super-dragon and the other 5 dragons reanimated corpses!Been done, sort of. In GW’s Nightfall, you battle the big baddies from the previous two games, as they have become servants of Abaddon.
the whole thing the way it is now reminds me a lot of that closer to the stars mission,
you start with 4 bosses, and each time you kill one a portion of their power is spread to the others, by the time you fight the last one you’re fighting a much harder fight than the first.
Now that you mention it, yes… I hated that mission. Old School M/M Necro’s nigthmare… NO BODIES. O_O
I had been thinking, and outfits are generally a way for the player/character to BE whatever their outfit is.
Um, I always thought it was so you could look like whatever the outfit is, not be something different. Even tonics just make you look like something else; you hardly ever have the skills or other abilities.
I can’t think of any other outfit which makes you behave like something other than your current profession and even race.
Some “toys” that come with some outfits do that, but not the outfits themselves. And, some tonics do as well. The costume brawl ones, at least.

The original Guild Wars had instanced maps. The GW2 team decided to go away from that route in GW 2.
Please!!!
Please for 15 characters!
Analogy:
In 2000 you bought a tablet and a nokia.
In 2015 you got a Nexus 6P.
Do you get a full refund for the tablet and nokia because both functionalities are now in the one item you have now?
Halloween coming up
some of my Suggestions for you:
*Ability to upgrade home instance candy corn node to rich candy corn node
*Guild hall decorations consisting of parts from the clock tower
*Ogdens hammer guy’s Ghost in LA…for those of us who miss him so (maybe another npc next to him telling him to shut up)that is all
I’m down with that.
You’ve pretty much described the home instances from SWtOR, which are awesome. Would love the same functionality here.
This is Ross, my main in his “first life” by the growing pale tree. I love when both times collide
It is super when you can keep your Guild Wars ledgend going
Yep, looks like you do the same!
In GW1, it changed with each expansion. It’s been on GWEN since that came out, though.
Yes, we need a new background for GW2. One of Ember Bay would be awesome!
In initiality, I don’t think its possible (or feasible) to bring zhaitan back. HOWEVER, with the way Taimi explained magic, it might be possible to create a new creature that absorbs all the death magic and functionally becomes like Zhaitan. Now, if said creature were to be on our side, he could re-model all the risen in Orr, and make it a playeble nation *wink*wink*
Yes, let’s do this.

Hrm, I just screamed just as a lay line was formed. First time it’s happened while carrying the detector.
Yep, I did… That explains it! Thanks!

Do Unbound Gathering Tools change what you get?
I’ve been harvesting petrified stumps, but instead of petrified wood + UM, I’ve been getting empyrial (sp?) fragments + UM.
Well, I’m a zombie fan, so, heh, sure :P

Coming from a gw1 vet here, Halloween and Wintersday have always been my favorite times of the year ingame. It was always cool seeing the city updates, Mad King Thorn, and the spooky theme in general. Especially when the Mad King game included lots of death.
I am also hoping it gets a story update! It would be awesome to see the Lunatic Courts storyline come back into play again. Since the whole thing with the seals has been on hold for awhile now.
Heck the two events are practically community tradition by now.
I’m also still waiting for Reapers Rumble to make a return Anet.
They are tradition
And, by gods, do you remember the beauty that was GW1 LA and Droknar’s Forge?
Of course! I also liked some of the spots in kamadan too.
If any Gw2 players are curious heres a good vid of the fun in gw1:
Love it
Here’s my main in his “first life” having a blast at Halloween
Happens to me on a regular basis, it’s actually quite funny lol.
Merchant: “Greeting traveller, how can I help you to..”
Player: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!”
I literally LOLed to that
Definitely all the stuff from the last few years should be in there, including Lunatic Inquisition! No excuses! Plus a continuation of story for the Family Thorn, and some general light relief and silliness. Halloween in Tyria is my favourite GW2 regular festival (Wintersday being a close second), and it deserves the fullest madness! The fullest, I tell you!
The Fullest!
Ok but why is it not a hostile creature? I’m invulnerable to damage…. so why make the creature non-hostile? It could attack me and I’m just invulnerable… but that isn’t what happens.
The dismissal of my argument seems to focus on the fact that A-Net wouldn’t make a thing like that hostile if your skill bar is locked… but if you are invulnerable than does that matter?Like I said, the destroyer crabs are hostile to you even when in Mursaat Armor. Not sure where you got it from that they’re friendly.
When I did it, the destroyer crabs were non-hostile( they were green), then when I lost the mursaat disguise, then they attacked me.
Perhaps they fixed it since then…
There are outfits I would have purchased if it weren’t for the ridiculous shoulders. The option to toggle outfit shoulders off would go a long way towards making me consider purchasing them. But if ANet doesn’t want my money…
I really can’t comprehend why they didn’t create the outfits with this functionality to begin with. Equipment slots can be hidden for the helments, shoulders, and gloves; so why was that not made available for outfits too!??!
I think some of the outfits would look amazing if I could just hide shoulders. Really hoping Anet takes notice…
Agreed a million times.
Looking forward to Halloween. I like the zombie vs human events where you switch to the zombie team if you lose. I would love to hide in a bunch of castles with siege weapons holding out zombie players, then hiding or running away to live until the rescue ships arrive.
Are you talking about this? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lunatic_Inquisition
That was really fun, and they removed it from Halloween last year for some reason. They should bring it back .
Definitely.
It’s possible this could be our ‘ending’ for the game in the far future, if they don’t make Aurene evil or kill her off. She ends up becoming the last dragon, keeping balance of magic for Tyria, and the Commander is basically made immortal to serve as her Champion forever.
That is the most logical ending. The only twist I can see is if that does NOT happen.
Mostly my favourites from GW1 that would bring a little new flavour to each weight class. Necromancer Obsidian- particularly the femme set, Luxon and Kurzick (elite or 1k) Ranger and Monk, and Elite Mesmer Rogue (pls…I need pants for my scholars. Charr Hide armour is…probably not coming back…
GW1 Scar Armor (Normal or Elite or both), Kurzik Armor (normal or Elite).
