I want chainsaw weapons that do extra dmg to mordrem.
Not just sword and GS, I want a chainsaw everything!
There should be a chainsaw skin for everything…. We have the technology!
That’s the Overload ability while in Air Attunement on Tempest, the Ele’s elite spec.
Yes, that was it! Thanks!
While in the new Fire Islands map, I saw someone cast something that made several long lightning strikes from high up cast a target in succession. I tried my ele’s skills, and couldn’t find one that had that effect. Am I missing something? What Profession skill is that?
Would rather see Skritt as playable.
Wait until the ToT bags come… O_O
Fascinating!
Now I want to find myself there.
Don’t confuse dark with mature.
After all, most Emos are quite immature :P
You can buy an account-bound re-usable portal scroll to get your alts to the new area from the unbound magic vendor Asura by the Gate. I did the mission on three toons, then the thought of doing that holodeck one more time…. nope, got the scroll.
Would love to have a Halloween event as awesome as the very first one in GW2. It’s my favorite holiday, and Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 have always had a tradition of playing it up for sheer awesomeness.
(I just wish the new LA looked as good creepified as the pre-Scarlet one did.)
This is Halloween…. https://youtu.be/gQJbZOldFSw
If there absolutely “must” be skimpy outfits, at least have them be equal-opportunity, just as the practical outfits should be equal-opportunity. I’m sure many straight women, gay men and bi folks among the playerbase wouldn’t mind some eyecandy aimed at them for a change.
Yep, been asking for that for years.
I’d rather have a plush of her than a statue of a Charr for the expensive version of the Expansion :P
… give Maguuma Mastery XP for those qualified, this year, instead of Core Tyria Mastery XP.
Or have a setting so you can choose…. given the Labyrinth isn’t located on the main plane at all, so it could theoretically be anywhere

15 Characters.
Mursaat Robes as skin parts, so I can mix/match with them.
I’d like the whole set as skins, so I can … not… use the shoulders!
I was able to Glide everywhere, with some effort and lots of climbing :P
Carnival weapon set should not be gold based at all there are already dozens of gold based sets, it should have been unbound magic or some combination of a karma item and petrified logs.
^ This.
I want Lord Faren’s Maguuma Jungle outfit for my female charr.
I want it for everyone.
All my toons would be rocking that loinclothGuild Wars 1 understood and respected people’s need for loin cloths, they even had cool looking dyable tattoos to go with
Yes, in GW1, one of the many reasons why Necromancer was my favorite profession.. Scar Armor
Apart from the “Danger Room” bit… much better than the last one. Better map, better quests, better gameplay.
This says it all:

I don’t know if this works in GW2 but in GW1 I found the simple solution to the problem was to make up a name for my build.
In that game the skills you chose were the main aspect of your build and groups would often ask you to share your skill bar in chat so they could decide whether they thought it looked good or not.
Honestly 9 times out of 10 the people making the call had no real idea what they were doing. If I told them I made the build up myself, I’ve used it in this dungeon/mission/whatever many times before and it works they’d kick me. If I told them I can’t remember what site I got it from but it’s called [whatever I felt like calling it at the time] (‘DOT + Profession name’ was a common form, or AoE + profession name) they’d accept it, no questions asked.
(Or if they were particularly observant I’d have to explain one detail, like I had a fiery bow string to go with Mark of Rodgort or yes, Dervishes do have AoE skills.)
Guess I wasn’t the only one who did that I had a Necro build that was totally off meta, but I loved it (and on one occasion in the Fire Island, kept me alive while everyone else wiped, long enough to kill enough Titans so I could get back to rez the Monk PC), and I used to tell people it came from a website.
I used to go to the old LA all the time… Now I park in Rata Sum. The new one is to bright, to clean, to sanitized. I liked the wooden pirate look of the old one. Sorry, I’m, just not that into EPCOT ripoffs.
Bat Wing Glider Skins please! I just got back to the game, and missed those, and my Necro reaaaaaaaly needs those. Do it for Halloween at least
Im not into a “big” housing system.
But a kind of room where there medals, ranks, trophies and things that player accomplish, could be simple and easy to implement, and would not require so many resources from game/development.
It is very strange that the commander of the pact, the killer of 2 dragons, looks like a nomad and dont have his personnal bunker.
hope the staff think on this with care.
GW1 had the Hall of Monuments, which was sort of like that. You could display certain minis, armor sets, and Hero companions, plus trophies for Campaign Completion.
I want my housing from Star Wars The Old republic—They were called Galactic Strongholds…Those houses were HUGE!!! They had multi-rooms and different planets with different locations. (you can reference Dulfy.net for what they are like)
That could be done in this game with regions instead of planets. And with new expansions—make a new house…simple.
Yep, I was thinking the same thing. I love my SWtOR Strongholds, and have several, all decorated. Fun times, instanced, and whatever NPCs I want in them. GW2 should do it that way.
I want Lord Faren’s Maguuma Jungle outfit for my female charr.
I want it for everyone.
All my toons would be rocking that loincloth
Guild Wars 1 Scar Armor
Tribal Outfit (Or something similar with bare chest and arms, to keep the special snowflakes who have the original happy)you can get your very own tribal set anytime by doing the wvw track for it, they added it recently.
Cool.
Well, then my suggestion is an outfit which looks similarly barechested, but not exactly the same.

Out of curiosity, how do the necromancer minions look in the Chinese version of GW2?
Going by all I know about Asian culture and society, I guess they look like half mecha kids with cat ears and big boobs.
LOL!
ahem
Yes, please… skeletonized skins for minions would be awesome.
I appreciate ANet’s attempt to include more new, in-game armor content with the release of HoT, but – unfortunately – I’ve been a little less than blown away
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think it might be fun to post some ideas of armors we’d love to see released in game!
I, for one, would love to see some of the following:
- Medium Human Male armor that doesn’t include a trenchcoat – so far the only one I’m aware of is the Glorious skin, I’d like to see more
- Heavy Female armor that makes use of shorter skirts, and not the ankle-length stuff or the far too-prevalent bulky pants we currently have – something more along the lines of Aion (also under the ncsoft umbrella) for a more feminine touch… see the picture below
- Tattoo/rune armor for light/medium professions, similar to the Scar Pattern Necro armor from GW1, or the Labrynthine Monk armor from GW1 (https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Necromancer_Elite_Scar_Pattern_armor_f.jpg, https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Monk_Labyrinthine_armor_m.jpg)
Any other ideas for armor you guys would love to wear and see?
I’ve been asking for the Necromancer Scar Armor for years. Eventually I gave up, and now only ask once or twice a year.
For your perusal: Jungle Lord Armor skins
Light armor consisting of a loin cloth, a fur cravat (and a fur bra for the ladies), dirt for shoes, an ostentatious signet ring (I’m rich you know), a twig caught in the hair, and idk a bird on the shoulder or a used band-aid or something.
Medium armor is literally the light armor with a greatcoat with the sleeves torn off and some tasteful tattered ends slapped over it.
Heavy armor is a hodge-podged conglomeration of dino parts, leaves, and wreckage that might actually count as armor.
This!
Also GW1 Necromancer Scar armor as a light armor skin.
And this… which used to be there, and now is not… or a variant of it… or something like it….
rises this thread from the grave
I would like this too.
looks around, then lets the thread wander around
I know it’s only September, but I felt I’d ask early…
I hope the Halloween event starts as soon as possible and runs through November!
:D
43 pages, and the solution was on page 1:
Disliked it 5 days ago, dislike it now.
The new Daily system which hand-holds clueless and aimless players is, accidentally, once again leading to additional limits and constraints for loyal veteran players, which will turn dailies for casual players into even more of a chore and annoyance – just like the Traits (67 pages) and NPE (17 pages) changes did.
PROBLEM
According to this article, players will only have 4 fixed PvE dailies, and they will have to do at least 3 of them to get the daily reward. However, the problem is not with the amount, but with the requirements of new dailies:
- Daily Ascalon Forager
- Daily Maguuma Wastes Vista Viewer
- Daily Malchor’s Leap Event Completer
- Daily Fire Elemental
Let’s look at what this means:
- Bring your character to a region you might not have or don’t want to explore yet (new Sylvari player in Caledon Forest) to harvest stuff there.
- Bring your level 80 character which you might not have to a region you might not have or don’t want to explore yet and find a vista there.
- Bring your almost level 80 character which you might not have to a region you might not have or don’t want to explore yet and look for events across that map.
- Log in at specific time after looking up times at external websites (no in-game schedule exists) and bring your character to a region you might not have or don’t want to explore yet.
How is it different from the current PvE dailies?
- Daily Kills
- Daily Reviver
- Daily Events
- Daily Gatherer
- Daily Leveler
- Condition Applier
- Daily Kill Variety
- Daily Recycler
Let’s look at what this meant:
- Kill stuff while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Revive stuff while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Do stuff while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Gather stuff while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Do enough stuff to get a level while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Spam different skills while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Kill different stuff while playing the game when, where and how you want.
- Salvage stuff you get while playing the game when, where and how you want.
In other words, you were rewarded for simply playing the game; unless you were an achievement hunter, it felt natural and it was rather hard not to get dailies while playing PvE. (I think it would be safe to assume that most casual players do not ever step into WvW/PvP; however, the new PvP dailies will have variations of the same problematic concept, like “win a game on a class you don’t know”).
With NPE in mind, I see where there problem lay: completely new players felt clueless and didn’t know what to do! So just as with “go to this vista and press F, go to this PoI and you don’t even have to press F…” system, the new dailies are telling people what they can do. The problem is, though… there are next to no options!
BACKGROUND
These threads from the past are worth noting:
- Only 10 Daily Achivements? – an 8-page thread from 7 months ago where players are annoyed since they’re forced to do specific PvE dailies because of lack of choices. Result: increase in choices.
- Please make dailies feel more natural – a thread about making dailies feel enjoyable instead of forced.
- Daily Orrian killer – adding a daily with unnatural requirements caused a lot of distress, and it was still only a subset from a large pool.
SOLUTION
Unsurprisingly, the solution is simple: add at least 3 permanent choices for dailies which come naturally while playing. You know, something from this set:
- Daily Leveler
- Daily Kills
- Daily Events
- Daily Gatherer
- Daily Recycler
- Daily Dodger
This way, playing players will be happily getting rewards for playing, and those who need directions or extra rewards, can do the specific stuff.
WHY THIS THREAD IS IMPORTANT and SHOULD NOT BE MERGED
Because threads like this one will appear in tens, if not hundreds when the patch hits. We’ve seen it with megaservers, traits, town clothes, commander tags, gem exchange… well, with all the changes which had easily predictable outcomes which were pointed at by the community, but were implemented regardless because they were already planned to.
So maybe, this time it’s better to listen to players before making this change? It will save so much time for everyone. Thank you.

=> I second the motion for tattoo style GW1 armor and +1 to branded armor sets
=> I second the motion for “legendary Dyes” or add an “effects slot” to the dye menu so you could add different glows, metallic effects sparkles or whatever to each piece of armor. (Maybe when you soulbind a legendary it unlocks the “effect dye” for it’s unique aura instead of only playing it when equipped to keep those effects unique)
Yet again, yes, yes, yes, YES, YES, YES!
New LS chapter has shown what the purple glowing eyes can look like. I’d love for this to now be made available as well. I’d also love a purple spinal blade color to be developed by some NPC that we can craft like the others.
In this vein, would also like some shiny purple Branded style armors.
I’d like to address the continuity issue in the Newly Awakened story instance of episode 7. In it, players have a conversation with Malomedies where he says, “We went so long without losing one of our own, but three of our newly awakened have been killed already. This is unacceptable.” He then goes on to say about Riannoc, “I worry about Riannoc. He’s going so far from home. What if he never returns?”
As some have helpfully pointed out, this is at odds with Caithe’s dialog in the Personal Story, where she mentions, “Riannoc was the first sylvari to meet death. We never knew what happened…” This is an error (a.k.a. text bug) that was introduced during the development of episode 7 and was not caught by anyone on the team or in our playtest groups. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We’re going to fix the conversation text in episode 7 in an upcoming patch so that it is in line with the Personal Story.
On a related note, I should clarify this bit of dialog from the Personal Story, where Caithe says, “…We all felt it when he [Riannoc] died. It was like a part of the Dream was torn away—but we never knew why. Or how.” The sylvari did not feel Riannoc’s death as it happened, but reacted emotionally once they found out about it (such as when a loved one is lost). Caithe is speaking figuratively, not literally, here.
As always, thanks for playing and for sharing your feedback.
This, or something that explains this, should be on the wiki
Lots. Some were simple typos, but others like the DR statue of Grenth was fully rewritten (which was changed last year in the summer).
The objects added in F&F3 were introduced half-done and fixed in a latter update. The ‘A Dragon Primer’ in the DP library (added with E1) had a typo of listing two points as 8, ending with a point 9, but now has the correct numbering up to 10.
All of these were stealth updates to dialogue. The statue is the most upfront case of changing lore, the rest tends to be typo fixing. But none ever stated in the update notes.
Now I’m curious as to what the statue used to read. o.O
Ah, well, so much for speculation:

What it says on the tin.
I really really want the Vampiric Dragon Sword from GW1..
I loved that sword Not too fond of the constant health drain, but sexy lookin’ sword

Tribal Armor that looks like the concept art instead of the version that existed before. Those that had the old fat version could still keep their special snowflake version of course.
(I removed this post from a less relevant thread and moved it to this one.) :P
My ele is very happy about 99.99% of the playerbase not being able to copy his look.
Oh is that how it looks?
I thought it would look like the concept art.
My necro looks better than that in his Rainment of the Lich outfit
Still, would be nice for everyone who wants one to be able to get one.
Or, even better, a new version that looks like the concept art. That way, those who have the original can keep that… and we can get a better one

How many more threads do people need to make about this? There are plenty already.
As many as it takes to get the set back.
Agreed. I honestly believe the PvP armor sets were never meant to be permanently removed from the game, but rather reintroduced at a later time. I think we’ve been without them for long enough and am eager to see their return.
I so badly need that tribal armor!
Me too. My Necromancer would look perfect in that.

Might I suggest allowing us to use our other characters as mercenaries in the same fashion we did in Guild Wars but limited to the dungeons.
It would allow people to play the dungeons at their own pace.
It would allow us to avoid the large number of people to see MMO dungeons as a job to be completed as fast as possible. I don’t know about you but I don’t have much fun being around these people.
It might encourage some people to create more characters. I’m set with three but would bump it up to five if I could use them as mercenaries.
You might be able to add dungeons to the living world again. I remember in season one the first week was high activity in the new dungeon but the second week was mostly a ghost town since those who wanted to do it had trouble finding a team.
I love having my alts as Mercs in GW1.

New classes> New Races
New Class = Seperatist
I am not in favor of only one system, ie: buying through the TP. There is no feeling of accomplishment when you buy something. This is one of the problems I have with legendary weapons. You can simply buy them. There is nothing Legendary about that.
My issue is more that a lot of weapon skins are released via black lion tickets and not via game content. There are so many in fact that Anet has been removing skins from that merchant. Now I am sure there are a variety of reasons for this but one theory (not my own) is that there are too many skins, they need to temporarily remove some of the skins in order to make room for new ones.
I’d much rather play through an epic encounter to get this skin, kill a difficult boss, earn tokens for doing events or such in order to earn these skins. It just doesn’t mean as much when you simply buy it with gold or gems or some combination there of.
Just my opinion. I realize not everyone favors this.
One (of the many) things I loved about GW1 was that several bosses in the world dropped named weapons, some with unique skins. Most were max stat weapons, but eventually, they added some in lower level areas, too. Those were the “Legendary” weapons of GW1. People would show them off, because of the effort it took to get them. You couldn’t just simply craft them. Not only did you have to beat the boss, but to increase the odds of getting it, you had to beat it without henchies or heroes. They were marks of skill or talent.
There should be a similar way of getting them in GW2.
And yes, I know, people traded and sold them in Kamadan, but if you could make the plat+ectos to buy some of them, that took some skill too :P
