How about a Charr mount for my Asura.

I proposed that some time back in the german forum when we were talking about backpacks. Charr get an asura-backpack and Asura a Charr-mount. Everyone benefits (well beside a few bookah).

That seems wrong to me for some reason. XD
Well Charr could ride a cow. Asura could ride some kind of golem(which they do already) only cuter. Humans could ride horses. Sylvari could ride sylvari hounds. Norns could ride…kegs. :I

Mount the keg, pop the tap, and FLY!

I recommend Nightfall for your main game. Leveling is pretty fast, and you get the Eye of the North access quest from your starting city, at level 10, whereas with Factions or Prophecies there’s a good deal of traveling involved.

Factions has the fastest leveling overall, though, if you want to play the game through.
Prophecies is what GW2 is based on, but it has the most complicated story and leveling process.

What I want in the gem store:

2. Make all pieces of armor transparent or hidden. You can do so with mantles and helms but nothing else. Would make showing off the body art a lot easier.

Been saying that for SO long… million times agreed.

3. Player housing but done in a more simple way than scattering homes all over the map. Designate specific buildings in each racial home city as an apartment building You buy a rental agreement that allows you to rent a specific size apartment that gives you an account bound key that can be copied that is soulbound on acquisition. The apartments do not exist on the regular map or in the regular city. Instead host all apartments on a separate server that is used for that purpose so it won’t impact regular players. Since this is an annual rental agreement the player must buy a new rental agreement in order to extend the lease for another year. So you’re guaranteed at least that many gems sold per year per apartment. And that will add up.

You can then add furniture and furnishings to the gem store so people can decorate or outfit their homes as they want. Players can also copy the key and mail them to specific characters that they wish to invite into their home. To access the player goes to the apartment building and double clicks on the key which then transports them to the front door of the apartment. Want to make things interesting? Make all apartments pvp-only zones. LOL. Apartments could have one or more bedrooms and other amenities such as a salle d’armes (training arena), pools, kitchens, etc.

If you designate guildhalls in this way then guilds could lease their guildhall “apartment” in precisely the same way.

Sort of like EQ2 or the new ones in SWtOR. Agreed.

(SWtOR also has transparent armor… just sayin’)

GW1 Scar and Tatoo armor as either Outfits or Armor Skins

Also:

Yes please.

My wishlist:

Angelic Wings back skin
Demonic Wings back skin
Dyeable Weapons (GW1 could do it – so should GW2!)
Ability to wear individual ‘outfit’ pieces so we can mix-n-match skins to create a truly unique look (I for one want to wear the starter guardian shoulders with the top of the raiment of the lich outfit, with radiant gloves, draconic legs and heritage boots, but I am limited to just wearing the ENTIRE lich outfit, or the entire outfit minus the helmet >_< I want to mix-n-match!!!)
Race Change item
Legendary/Special effects dyes (glow/sparkle/metallic/transparent etc.)
Mini Me (creates an identical miniature of your character)
More GW1 weapon and armor skins
Bring back the Dragon Bone Staff skin
Branded armor skin (the armor those branded human and branded charr wear)
Guild Capes (got to represent!)
Armor skins of the 6 gods (especially the 3-faced helmet that the avatar of lyssa wears)
Abaddon/margonite themed armor (would LOVE a helmet that has those 6 glowing purple eyes that Abaddon has. OMG I would literally die from excitement)
Replace the current tormented shield skin (which is really small and insignificant) with the GW1 version – it looked SOOOOO much better

Well that kinda sums it up. But I would love all awesome weapon skins from GW1 back, in HD form.
I will spent my money on those items if they are done well.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.

Yes.

Just run p3 everyday, its the easiest path.

Also, dont buy runs, because that’s lame.. and i’ll make fun of you.

I’ll try that, but at the same time… I like the Lich outfit cause it shows his chest.. and his lovely glowing Sylvari ribcage So, I’m still considering if Arah is worth covering him up :-P

[Suggestion] Outfits as IND. armor pieces

Gryphon.2875

I’m torn about this. While it would be great to be able to mix n match, outfits are wonderful for when leveling a new character without having to worry about your character looks. You just tick the outfit box and you’re free to wear all those ugly low-lvl skins. The best thing, of course, would be to both keep the outfits as they are, as well as adding a separate version of them as individual pieces, but one can only dream…

Truth.

Title: Outfits as Individual Armor Pieces (stupid 45 character rule prevented me from saying this)

So, I’m really digging the Noble Count Outfit. It looks amazing on all of my characters, especially my Charr Engineer. The only problem I have with it is that it takes away my headgear (A hard earned monocle that suits his nobleness greatly). The same concept applies to the other outfits I own, such as the Fancy Winter Outfit, where I would want to change or remove the boots or the hat to my own taste.

Thus an idea occurred. What if Outfits went BACK to their original single piece clothing items, and went INTO our account wardrobes. That way, we can mix and match clothing pieces with other forms of our armor in order to further enhance our creativity options.

The same could be applied to town clothes as well, but that of course is up to the devs.

I’ve been wanting to mix and match my outfit pieces with armor for awhile now.

I was considering the Job-o-Tron for my Asuran Engineer, but unfortunately it continues in the great GW2 tradition of backpacks being woefully teeny-tiny on characters of that race. It looks like he has an ostrich egg on his back. No sale (on any backpacks for my Asuran characters) until such time as I no longer need a magnifying glass to see if he’s wearing it.

And yes, it would be best if Job-o-Tron were only audible to the player wearing it.

I usually just adjust the camera and zoom in when I play my Asura.

The ritual is actually performed on a test subject at the end of the path.

That happened in Arah, not the Crystal Desert.

I didn’t say otherwise. The Forgotten aren’t in Arah NOW; they’re in the Crystal Desert and Elona. The altar is in Arah, but presumably it can’t do the ritual all by its lonesome.

— and there, I edited my original post to avoid further confusion.

it depends on what is and isn’t inherited. Glint’s children may have inherited her immunity from the Forgotten ritual. Or they may have inherited neither her immunity nor her connection to Kralkatorrik – so they’re just as susceptible to corruption as anything else, but as yet have no links with Kralkatorrik or any of the other Elder Dragons.

Good points.

I’d rather have the fight go full out next year, with a return of 2012 (and yes, 2013) content. And their full out fight would recruit the players. One can assist either one they want in a manner of ways:

Support King Ozzy via:

Support Prince Eddie via:

  • Going through purple doors and being turned into skeleton versions of your PC’s race while in the Labyrinth.
  • Doing a new jumping puzzle: Baron Wycker’s Estate – a more horizontal version of the Mad King’s Clocktower
  • Completing Reaper’s Rumble
  • Completing a series of new meta events in Queensdale, Kessex Hills, and Gendarran Fields (flavored in support of the rebellion)

Changes to the Labyrinth

  1. Those who are candy corn creatures will see skeletal players as enemies, while seeing Ozzy’s forces as allies.
  2. Those who are skeletons will see candy corn players as enemies, while seeing Eddie’s forces as allies.
  3. A return of the Champion Family-Sized Candy Corn (moved to NE corner) and the Champion Skeleton (moved to SW corner).
  4. Add elites to event scalings
  5. The Labyrinth will have a counter set for each map, they will be matches lasting until Halloween night. Killing a normal ranked NPC = 1 point; kill a veteran = 2 points; kill an elite = 3 points; kill a player = 5 points; kill a champion = 10 points; kill a legendary = 25 points

On Halloween Night, a new finale happens: Edrick and Oswald both show up in Lion’s Arch, and do a battle. This battle will begin on a scale determined by the scores of the Labyrinth and how often the events/activities were done, however unless it’s a landslide victory for one side, it’d be possible still to tip the scales in the others’ favor.

Each finale would happen, like in GW1, every three hours. The score accumulates across all finales. And a special instance appears to show the ultimate showdown and fall of the loser (available for the following week).

In future years, the final fall becomes available as long as Halloween, as the plot advances in different ways (depending on who wins).

Players thus get to chose by doing things who they want to “vote” for. In a more interactive means than Cutthroat Politics.

Something like this is what I would like to see for future Halloweens. The most important part is the ability to replay all past content, even if the direction of Ozzy v. Eddie is set in stone.

This would be awesome! In GW1, we could choose between Grenth and the other one for Wintersday. This would be even better

Will level cap raise?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gryphon.2875

Gryphon.2875

One of the many many many things I love about GW1 is the small level cap. Get to level 20 quick (even quicker in Factions), get max gear, then do STUFF. Don’t have to worry about grindy crap, just explore and do the story. Loved it. Still do I still play GW1 from time to time.

What GW2 needs is more STUFF. More lands, more story, more plot, more skins, more toys, more things to DO. Not more numbers.

What I hope they do is to keep the real level cap at 80, then introduce some kind of secondary levels, perhaps as a secondary class. Telling someone “Your level 80 elementalist is no longer max level. Go gain more levels and then re-earn all your gear” is bad. Telling them “Your level 80 elementalist can now gain some levels as a ranger, and you’ll have the option of equipping medium armor and a long bow, if you care to gain the levels and earn the gear” is a LOT better from a player satisfaction point of view.

That would be cool. Would be more like GW1 as well. I still wonder what caused people to forget to be able to dual-class in the last 250 years, when back in the day, it was the norm.

I really hope so, that’s probably the only way to retain veteran players, beside new content.

Depending on how far you’re going with “veteran players”, most would actually leave with more vertical progression – be it higher gear rarity tiers, or higher level caps.

GW1 had 20 levels for 6 years before GW2. People still play it, many I’ve recently heard are people who left GW2 to return to GW1. I would not doubt that the high vertical progression of GW2 is part of it (alongside the reduced story quality, and other certain systems or aspects of systems).

New players would likely not give a kitten .

Yep, during Halloween I frequently ran both GW1 and GW2 at the same time, dual-hanging in both Lion’s Arch(es). There were tonnes of people in GW1 who were saying how they used to play GW2 but they came back to GW1 because of how much better it is.

Also:

Just saying that tribal tattoo armor is already in the game.

and can’t be obtained

Well not anymore. It was before, but only through pvp as a rank reward which was converted to regular armor through the wardrobe patch.

Given there was no warning that it would vanish, or that it would be convertible to PvE via the Wardrobe (after said vanishing), thus not giving primarily PvE players the option to make sure they got it in PvP before the deadline, it should now be available in the Store.

Make us PvE-ers PAY for something the PvP people got for free! They should be okay with that. I am! Take my money!

[Suggestion] Increase dungeon token rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gryphon.2875

Gryphon.2875

“You heard Grast. hold th- You heard Grast- You heard- You- You-” – Kohler

Well, I’m a dirty achievment hunter. Shame or not, I am. I think of achievments as challanges, thus face them, even the most boring ones, and try to complete them. However there are some of them, that are just over the top, and are doing more harm than good to the game (imo) and my mental health.

Think previosly of Burning 50 effigies (Dragon bash) or the still not fixed WvW achieivements (might do a different thread on that).

Well with that introduction let’s see what I have a gripe with.

Recently Collection achievments have been introduced, for dungeon sets as well. And that’s fine and dandy, why not award players for completing the whole set. But did anyone bother to calculate how much tokens, time, and effort this takes?

I did. For a total set, you need 9990 tokens. 9990. Neunundneunzig luftballons. For an average dungoen run, you are gonna get 60 tokens + 9 from bosses, so that’s 69 tokens. that means you gotta run the same dungoen 145 times to complete it. A total 1160 runs for all the dungeons. Most people in most dungeons don’t even run all paths, cause some take twice as long as others, but even if you ran all 3, that’s still 48 runs each path.

Do you think that’s enough? It’s like a torture, repeating the same old boring content over and over and over and over again, until your brain starts to melt, and drips out your ear.

My suggestion(s) would be the following:

- Simply up the dungeon token rewards by around 20 – this would reduce the number of times needed to run to 113 (for 1 dungoen). Still awful, but a bit better.

- Up the dungeon tokens you recieve from bosses in pouches – they always have 3 tokens isnide, could be 3 + 1 to 5 randomly. By the way what’s even the point of having these, why not just give the tokens whitout the pouches?

- Add extra things that rewards you with more tokens. For instance, slaying every champion on AC paths (including troll) awards you with +20 tokens at the end, or completing AC paths under 10 minutes gives you extra 10 tokens, or no one downing at the last boss gives you +5 tokens, or doing Giganticus Lupicus on the first try gives you +5 tokens. Something unique for each dungoen. This could be done in the same manner as Dry Top is at the moment – Bonus if xy is completed/not lost etc..

Well. That’s about it. I can already see the counterarguments coming, so let me eliminate some of them in advance.

Counterarguments by Angry Forum Members:

AFM: It’s an achievment. You should suffer for trying to do it.
Me: No you shouldn’t. There is a difference between reasonable, and just plain boring, frustrating. After your 40th run on the same path you just want to quit the game alltogether.

AFM: You have OCD you don’t have to do achievments.
Me: After 2 and a half years in game, there is nothing else left to do.

AFM: Well, you are a scrub. Just go PvP and get the rewards man, dude, daddi-o, 1v1 me.
Me: Yes, I could do that. But: 1. There is only 1 dungeon track available at any given time (for what reason?). 2. Doing a full track is ~50 matches (so I’m probably better off just doing the dungeon). 3. Probably a good precentage of PvE players will never set foot in PvP.

AFM: Well your lazy, pathetic, weak, milquetoast suggestion will just let everyone get exotics quickly.
Me: Yes. And does it matter? I mean it costs like what, 10 g for a full exo gear? You can farm that under 2 hours anyway.

AFM: Well I don’t care. I did PvP before wardrobe, and thus I have most things unlocked, I’m done with 5 dungoen collections already. So “hah!” in your face!
Me: Good for you. Now think of the people that weren’t so lucky. Now think of new players.

I think that about covers it. Thank you for taking time to read.

Works for me!

[SUGGESTION] Hats must come back.

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Gryphon.2875

Gryphon.2875

The suggestion was to allow us to use outfits with armor helmets, not armors with outfit helmets[…]

This particular suggestion asks for making them hats that work in a similar way to GW1’s hats:

  • In one hand we have the armor pieces
  • In the other hand we have ‘hat’ and ‘outfit’.

The hat covers the head if active.
The outfit covers the body if active.
If either isn’t active, the armor underneath is shown, which is helm for the hat, and the rest of th armor for the outfit.

So players would be able to do all four possible combinations:

  • Helm with armor.
  • Hat with outfit
  • Hat with armor.
  • Helm with outfit

So, mostly 3 things would be added from the player’s point of view:
- Hat slot.
- Hat wardrobe with a list of existing skins, plus any new hats added.
- Hat checkbox to hide the hat.

The GW1 “outfit” or “costume” system is better than what we currently have. It should be implemented in GW2. Yet again, a great idea that Anet already had… yet did not implement in this game.
