This started happening to me after I installed Windows 8. I tried running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode, as administrator, and still it stops.
It actually patches all but the last file, then reduces down to 0kb and stops.
Costumes purchased in GW – Every one.
Town Clothes purchased in GW2 – Zero.
Theres a thread on Guild Wars 2 Guru about town clothes and the general concensus is that nobody really cares about them but would if they were like costumes in GW.
Said that before and say it again… This needs to be put the way it was in GW1
Seriously, how hard is it, once you’ve linked accounts, for the game to grab one of your GW1 character’s names, likely the one with most time played, or the most titles, and use that as a reference? And for those who’ve not got GW1 on the account, use one of the NPC names instead.
The internet, a magical place where people can discuss plant nipples.
By the way, I am more concerned that they have flowers growing out of their butt…
^ lol, that’s probably not supposed to be hard nipples.
This is an amazing thread, really.
But, yeah, I’d guess no nipples… just pecs and breasts. The Pale Tree(s) didn’t look too closely at the humans she (they) was (were) emulating.
How about just “Yeeeeeaaaahhhh!”
I’ll vote for this. And yes, mainly for males
I agree it should be renamed "Advance to the Rear "
Cause that could never be taken the wrong way…
;)
“Incoming!” Works.
I agree totally. Seems silly for me to yell “Retreat!” when I’m running towards an event that started and I happen to want to get there faster
My Asura ranger is tiny and I don’t even play PvP
I just wanted him to be smaller than his Cave Spider pet

1. Bringing an arguement with someone from one thread to another is bad form, and suggesting that wanting this option is lazy is very bigoted of you. I wonder how you’d change your tune if you lost a hand.
2. Perhaps his friend (or my friends who have mouse problems, for that matter) doesn’t want to spend an extra $80 for a mouse, when he could just have an optional mechanic in place in GW2 that worked perfectly fine in GW1OK, first off, you should clarify who each of those points are at, because that number 1 point had me confused as hell for a bit.
Sorry about that. #1 was aimed at GADefence.5634, who… did it again… so therefore, I think all GADefence.5634’s points are invalid in this thread, merely because he’s wanting to antagonize Bacon over a completely different thread, ignoring other people who may want or need what Bacon suggests in this thread, that has nothing to do with what’s going on in the other thread.
In any case, I’m merely arguing for yet another thing that worked perfectly in GW1 being added to GW2. In GW1, I didn’t use my mouse hardly at all. I even picked up loot with the keyboard. And my AoE’s worked just fine by tab-targeting. I type over 100 wpm. I know the keyboard. I hate the mouse. Plus, I know several people who have functional disabilities that cannot use the mouse as well as others. These people should be able to play GW2 as well as they did in GW1. Me, I’m learning to use the mouse, but I know I’d play the game better if I could just use what worked for me for years in GW1.

There’s a keybind for that.
I’ve leveled fine with a scepter / torch combo. Lots of fire
Double-tap #4, then attack/smite. Course, would be better if smite was auto-targeted instead of a stupid mouse skill, but eh, what can you do?

Again, something from GW1 that should have been in GW2. Vendors that only show you what YOU can use.

I really don’t understand why people are saying, to paraphrase, “I don’t want it because it’s contrary to how I want to play.” Well, that’s why we want it as an option.
1. It was the way AoE skills worked in GW1. It was fine then, it will be fine now.
2. It makes the game more accessible to people with disabilities. Try not to be so selfish

Because the skills require you to use the mouse… what we’re asking for is the option to be able to use the keyboard for mouse skills. If we could do that already, we wouldn’t be asking for it.

Keybinds really has nothing to do with it… if we could use the keys there wouldn’t be an issue
I would love to see this in GW2:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gallery_of_male_necromancer_Scar_Pattern_armor
I can imagine it glowing on a Sylvari, would look awesome
Oh my, I miss my GW1 Necromancer scar armor and my Monk’s tatoo armor. I would really enjoy having them again. I’d even PAY at the GEM store for them…
That should get their attention :P
This… all of this… yes
Halloween is MY holiday… and my RL birthday :P So, yeah though I spent a lot on Halloween items, I shan’t be doing the same for any other holiday
Otherwise, you can put a level 0 jewel in it.
I’m adding my vote for an “Achievement Archive” so we can look fondly back on these days in the future, on screen
Gods, what amazing pics! Good to see so many others have similar tastes as I
Here’s my favorites…
Awesome! Love it, and will show all my friends who aren’t in GW2 yet :P
There’s a whole slew of things GW1 had that GW2 needs, and this is one of them. I miss taking down massive elementals in my Lunatic Finery!
Another partial solution: Make neutral creatures smart enough to avoid battles.
Most real-world wildlife, including vicious predators, would tend to move away from possible danger…for example, a ferocious battle between characters and bandits raging in their midst. The noise alone would cause most animals to scatter for safety, or at least move 10-20 feet away.
If neutral creatures in GW2 behaved like this, it would reduce our chances of hitting them with auto-targeting and AoE attacks. Would also make for a more immersive experience.
This!
Plus, one of the FEW things I liked about SWtOR was that tab only targeted your current mob or mobs linked to it, really cut down on unwanted aggro. Course, the downside was that if you had frozen a mob to save for last, you had to manually target others, since tab ignored them. But since GW2 doesn’t have 8 minute long crowd-control, I don’t think that applies here
Sounds dodgy to me.
:D
Ahem, yes, binding dodge to a key helps
Badges? What badges?
I’d love to have the Crossing…. but can’t afford it in a million years.

I’ve been posting about this all week
Welcome to the club
Obviously, I’m all for it, for reasons stated in these threads:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Fast-Cast-Ground-Targeting-on-selected-target
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/AoE-Targetting-Option
in the options menu, i think there is.
Not exactly. You can turn off the circle and just target your mouse pointer, but you still have to move your hands (or just one hand in the case of one poster) off the keyboard to use it.
I think it would be a lovely idea to make page 6 account-bound instead of soul-bound, so our 30+ characters can get them for our >30 alts
Fire… traps… vetran spiders… child’s play for my 60+ Guardian and my 45+ Necro…. killers for my poor level 7 Charr who wants a mad king book!
Sounds great! Love it, a full 15 characters worth :P
Again, agreed. Having this as an option is the only fair thing to do for some of the player base who have problems with mice.
Signed, seconded and thirded
There was no “option” in GW1. All AoE’s were either created at your character or at a target and did not have to be aimed. It wouldn’t be logical to assume there’d be some option.
Right, it would be more logical to assume they’d work by default like they did in GW1, which I had actually assumed. Therefore, since they weren’t like that by default, there should therefore be the option to make them that way. Thanks for the support
Blast! Anet needs to answer this question, on all three posts!
Official word from ANet would be great. I’m sick of looking for this set, especially if it’s not even in-game anymore….
So would I
Been looking for it myself.
Well, it was used in GW1 with no issues in PvP or PvE. It’s still targeting the area, not the person. In GW1, you could get targeted in PvP by a mouse-less AoE and you simply leave the target area, same as with the mouse effect. And in GW2, you can dodge
It’s the same effect, just not using the mouse. “Arcade Users” not withstanding, the game should be as easy to use as GW1 was and is for people who have problems with using mice.

Still no definitive answer?
Thanks
The more support, the better
I want the Witch costume as real armor for my necro. That is all
Works for me
And with today’s inflation… I got $20 worth of gems, and converted that to 11 gold
With which, I bought exactly the weapon skins I wanted. Poof, done.
Likewise…. especially since my ranger has all spiders as land pets :P
Many threads about this already
Still a good idea, regardless
Agree with OP 1000%
