Because we can’t be angry about both?
You know you can use multiple words for names, right? With spaces and everything? It can be irksome not to get the exact name you want, but if you’ve ever played an MMO before, you should be prepared to find a variant.
I hear the pro-Outfit crowd saying that they are nice to use when leveling. Since you are updating your armor so often, you can look good without spending money on Transmutation Charges.
That is also the other positive of Outfits; if you have several of them you can change back and forth (on any character) without that pesky Transmutation cost.
And the detail on the outfits is very high. They put many of our old armors to shame.
Great! Outfits are perfect for folks who want to look respectable, but don’t want to spend money to create an individual look. ANet has fed you very well this past year. Your closet is pretty full, and looks as if it will continue to grow.
______________________________But there is a large percentage of people who have reached the “endgame”. They aren’t leveling new characters. They are older accounts that have money for transmutation stones. And since there is (sort of) no “gear creep” in GW2, the endgame comes down a lot to skins.
People want to stand out. And while Outfits may look nice, you can’t stand out if you look exactly like everyone else. That is why this topic is popping up more and more lately. More people are reaching the endgame, and looking for a way to be noticed. Outfits don’t fill that need for more than a couple days after they are released.
Armor sets are coming at a snails pace, and we don’t have much to work with anymore. Most of our 2-year old pieces and parts have far less detail than the new Outfits.
Endgame is stagnating for those of us who need to express our individuality as a way to keep our post 80 experience fresh. We just ask a little equal time, and would love some of the highly detailed pieces ANet is making nowadays to work with.
That’s my take on this issue. That is your skin vs. Outfit divide. I truly feel the pro-Outfit crowd is (in general) newer to the game than the pro mix ‘n’ match crowd. It seems reasonable that the old fogies who have seen it all aren’t impressed much by cookie cutter content. We want variety. We need variety. We aren’t getting variety.
Side Note: Many RPers and people with older gold-healthy accounts have multiple armor pieces. We don’t really use Transmutation Charges that often. It isn’t as big a deal as the pro-Outfitters think.
I am pro mix n’match, but I am also pro outfits. As I’ve said in this and other threads on the subject, I’d much rather have access to armor in game and let them sell outfits on the gem store. They’ve released about the same amount of full armor sets in the game itself over the last year as they normally do in the gemstore. And for those who don’t count carapace and lumi as two armor sets, I’ll just point out that the flame sets exist in the gemstore.
ANET, please keep releasing armor sets in the game itself.
I still can’t wrap my head around why it is so difficult to release the outfits also as armor-sets. Converting them to an armor-set is incredibly easy. I’ve done a similar process multiple times for Oblivion and Skyrim armors.
- Load the armor-mesh into a 3D-Modeling program (Blender, cause it’s open source and free)
- For creating a helmet cut away anything that isn’t helmet, for creating a chestplate cut away anything that isn’t chestplate, …
- Export the new armor-mesh
- Import the mesh into a program that is capable of editing the flags and other meta-information of the armor-piece (in my case NIF-Scope)
- Assign the correct outfit-slots, textures, materials, etc to each piece
- Save and test the result.
Since the outfit is already weighted and skinned there is no more weighting or skinning to do, which saves a lot of work.
Once I knew what I had to do, this process took me about 1h to convert an armor-model that was made from a single mesh into several separate armor-models representing chestplate, shoulderpads, trousers, etc.
You can’t tell me that people who do this stuff for a living are much slower than me. Since there are 6 models to convert (one for each race) this shouldn’t take longer than 6h for a single person.
They are not weighted to the three existing weights. The three existing weights are incompatible for mixing and matching with each other, so you’d have to convert another 3 models. Then you’d have to convert another 6 models for variations between the male and female versions of each armor type, and add 6 more for male and female versions of each race. And then they’d have to work out the issues that come from making something modular: They’re designed as one piece, so the art assets would have to be polished to make them work as solitary pieces. If you cut the shoulders off of the ceremonial outfit, for example, there might simply be nothing underneath. So you’d have to go back and do detailing work that is currently unnecessary. Where do you cut the top of the female version of the ancestral outfit, when the “leggings” were never meant to be seen on their own?
Why do we get to use our trait points at level 30? Did they explain this?
Seems like a BAD New player experience to me…Traits changed a year ago, not with the September NPE. The blog post about that change says:
Once you reach the appropriate level, we want you to be able to dive right into the system and start playing around with it…
…
As part of this approach to making traits more approachable, we’ve pushed back the level at which the different trait tiers unlock for new characters in order to better pace the early game experience and to add more meaningful character progression from levels 30 to 80.So they took away the early access to traits in order to make later levels seem more meaningful.
Have to say it’s just utterly annoying. It also means that traits get dumped on players instead of being spread out over the entire leveling process. So very little gets added beyond getting up to a 5 key ability set going up to 30, there’s no reason traits shouldn’t be a part of the entire process from at worst level 10 onward.
You are not alone in this feeling. Over the last year, the official feedback threads have gained about 100 pages, and the responses are overwhelmingly negative. Before April of last year, trait points were awarded starting at level 11 (Well, 15, by today’s standards- the mechanics have changed a bit). It was 10s to unlock the first tier of traits (total- it unlocked all 5 lines for that cost), 50s to unlock the middle tier, and 2g to unlock the third tier.
You had to visit a trainer and pay a small fee (a few silver) to change traits, so the new interface is an improvement, but that’s it.
Why do we get to use our trait points at level 30? Did they explain this?

Why are people ignoring the fact that we HAVE comments by the team in this very thread and that they have already outright stated that it WILL be back?
So do you think this is an example of a promise that developers should be held to, or do you think it might be subject to change, like any number of other features that have been stated to be incoming and then abandoned? Because the go-to argument seems to be that developers shouldn’t be held to what they say will happen, and when they are, you typically come in and argue that just because they said something would happen, it doesn’t make it a promise, and this is why they don’t communicate with their customers.
Which is it? Is their word something we can take as being trustworthy or not?
We’ve hit the first weekend in April with no news. Whomever is allowing this silence to stand should have to answer to all the people who get angry when it is finally revealed that they’ve spent an insane amount of gold/skillpoints/time on a system that is now defunct… possibly (?) for a system that is even worse.
Because they are designed as a single art asset with a single cohesive line, it is not as easy to break up outfits as you are imagining. It’s not like playing with paper dolls. As far as I’m aware, each of the three armor types use a different mesh, and I’m pretty sure outfits use a fourth.
You forgot Glorious armor in your list. That’s at least three they’ve released over the last year- which is approximately the same amount of new (complete) armor skins you used to see in the gem store in a given year.
So, while I agree that it would be nice to have more options, I feel like there’s a reasonable explanation for why this isn’t one, and wouldn’t be worthwhile for ANET to expend the resources on it. I like getting armor skins in game.
Hey guys! What’s going on in this thre—o—oh.. oh. Okay… alright.. I’ll… I’ll just leave you all to it then… sorry to interrupt. /closesdoor
Bahaha. I can’t upvote this post enough.
Dude, the article directly states that they were able to live translate what a dolphin was saying. That implies a language barrier has been breached (okay, not so much “implies” as “directly states”), and that communication is now possible on a far more in-depth level than before (we had already made devises capable of the opposite direction of communication). This isn’t like Lilly’s study, which could actually draw parallels with the whole “dog” comment, but actual, tangible communication being done. Not everything has to be done in English.
That article doesn’t show that dolphins have a language or that there is true communication going on between humans and dolphins. The researchers invented a dolphin like sound and they labeled it Sargassum. They played it near a pod of wild dolphins and one of them eventually mimicked the sound. There is absolutely no indication that the dolphin knew it was a word or knew it had a meaning in English. All it showed was that dolphins, like a mockingbird imitating a car alarm, will imitate the sounds they hear and that a computer can pick up a human generated artificial “whistle word” that was made by an animal and give it the human assigned meaning.
It would be the same if they played that whistle (but named it Tree) near a mockingbird till the mockingbird imitated it and their computer picked it up. The mockingbird isn’t saying Tree when he imitates the sound he hears.
“It detected a whistle for sargassum, or seaweed, which she and her team had invented to use when playing with the dolphin pod.”
Thank you. It’s only communication if the dolphin has a concept of language, not just actions=consequences. Your example with mimicry is much more spot-on than my “teaching a dog to sit” was.
Also, Leo G, I appear to have misunderstood your premise/tone, and I’ve updated my previous post in response to you to reflect that.
I doubt that charr standards of seduction would even match our own. For all we know, a charrs attractiveness could be measured by size of the horns, with no merit being given to the outfit at all.
But what if said female charr is trying to attract a handsome human thief that killed an Elder Dragon by joining the Tyria High Varsity Cheerleader team, only to be disappointed by the lack of seductive outfits in the Gem Store? The day the Exemplar outfits are released, is the day of redemption.
She could always transfer to TC Bayside High, where the cheerleader squad is ranked #1 NA, but her family currently doesn’t have the funds to pay for such a move. Still, Tyria High is a fine school for all RPers to attend. A charr can learn a lot about humans there.
Why would a female Charr be trying to attract a human?
Sentient beings who can communicate will find ways to love one another. It’s kind of beautiful, if you don’t think about it too hard. (They’ll find ways to hate each other, too, of course.) /serious note
True!
We all know how smart dolphins are. I remember reading a story about a Dolphin pretty much falling in love with a female trainer after they lived together for a moderate duration, even to the point of the Dolphin trying to mate her. Of course such a relationship would never work as the trainer was eventually separated from the Dolphin. Heart broken, the Dolphin got depressed, stopped eating and eventually committed suicide by staying at the bottom of his tank.
Don’t ask me why I was reading stories like that. Just Internetz.
I didn’t say “smart,” I said “sentient,” but nice try. I also said “who can communicate,” which I figured would be enough to derail the whole “dolphin” concept, but whatever. You’ve obviously never seen Rule 34 at work with the Star Trek universe. Consenting, self-aware and able to share a common language- fluently- is what I meant.
We’ve been able to talk with dolphins for years ( http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22129624.300-dolphin-whistle-instantly-translated-by-computer.html#.VR5PDfnF9vw ). Saying “those that we can communicate with” doesn’t exactly derail dolphins of all animals. Similarly, dolphins are also sentient, so that’s not exactly something that you can hold against him in the same way that he can’t really hold this whole “Charr getting in a relationship with a human” thing. It’s only your personal feelings, not the reality of the situation.
Though, using Star Trek as the example is pretty fitting for this topic.
Did you even read that article? We haven’t been able to talk “with” dolphins at all. Citing that article as a source is utter rubbish. There’s nothing meaningful about that sort of communication- we haven’t been able to talk with them. Not, as I said, in a fluent language.
That’s like saying that we can talk with dogs because you taught your dog how to sit. That’s not communication, and it certainly isn’t anything that implies consent. This is a joke thread, clearly, but our co-existence with these other races in the game runs far deeper than a simple “call and response” system of “communication” that was described in the article. It was a single word, two years ago, and further study indicates it’s not even a match to the word/sound association they were trying to teach.
When we can discuss philosophy, art, scientific concepts, societal constructs, ethics, traditions, history, government and, like I previously mentioned… consent, with dolphins, then I’ll consider rethinking my stance. Until then, dolphins are smart, self-aware creatures, but are not capable of meaningful communication that would be required to gain consent.
Ugh. And this thread was amusing me.
Ms. Gray had this to say on this topic nearly 5 months ago.
We’d appreciate not seeing resurrections of this topic, when it has been addressed often in the past and to the degree that we’re able to address it right now.
The topic was, of course, communication. So, rest easy, folks. The communication issue has been cured.
they should just release a godkitten official response already. -.-
The official response is: “SAB will return at some point in the future when we feel the time is right. No refunds will be granted on the infinite continue coin, because the content connected to it will be back.”
Could be this week; could be 40 years from now. But at least by then, people will know better than to buy anything from ANET without a guaranteed timeline attached to it.
There’s no guarantee that the first batch of new legendaries will have a staff. (Unless there’s a confirmed list that I’ve missed, but the blog post says specifically that there will be a handful of new legendaries introduced.)

Edit: Okay, so… I apparently misread the tone in which this was originally posted. I think (?) we’re arguing the same thing… ish. But I thought you were being snide, like, “Oh, yeah, well, it’s like the age-old tale of that time a squirrel fell in love with a human… rollseyes.” However, dogs have been known to get depressed after the deaths of their owners, so I’m not sure it can be likened to a true partnership. At the very least, I think this was meant to be supportive, and I did not take it that way, at all. Apologies.

I am so glad your mom got such a kick out of the prank yesterday! All the best to you both.

I am a hardcore Charr roleplayer, and I approve this message. Every. Last. Word.
I really wish all other crafting took a page from cooking. Cooking doesn’t bottleneck, really. There are alternate ingredient combinations that can be used if you don’t have the ones you need right on-hand. All the rest have really rigid material requirements, where if you run out of one of the components, you’re out of luck until you gather/buy more.
If this is a thread asking for communication on certain things (as opposed to a wishlist thread), then I think there is either some rule or general policy that such threads aren’t appropriate. May be wrong though.
But while the thread is here, I’ll offer the list I’m after
1) Traits
2) Traits
3) Traitsand so on. Other niggling things and annoyances as well, but thats the main one that, as a system in itself an how I feel Anet has handled it, has really dented my enjoyment and passion for the game.
It’s not that such threads are inappropriate, it’s Anet has an internal policy that forbids them from speaking on the details future updates/content until such a time as they are closer to launch.
Except for, y’know, traits. They’ve been talking (without saying anything) for seven months now. And two months since they “revealed” that a new system is incoming.
I was ready Dulfy the other day, and saw the upcoming Exemplar outfits. At first I was excited, until I saw what it looked like on female charr. I was instantly sold, and have my creditcard ready to get more Gems.
There’s just a limited availability of sexy looking outfits for female charrs. As a way to satisfy the small percentage of hardcore charr Role Players, there needs to be more outfits in the Gem Store. I think the Exemplar outfit is a good first step in solving this pressing issue. I implore Anet content designers to bring out even more outfits, because charr need loving too!
I am a hardcore Charr roleplayer and I approve this message. Trust in iron (and dat dress) and not false gods, yo.
They’re fixing the personal story. There’s a sticky about it on this page. But I agree, it’s frustrating, and you’re not going to be able to replay it on characters who missed it.
I think Anet has a straightforward plan for SAB that is already on their timetable. You just have to wait, even though it can take years. They want SAB to be integrated into GW2 story so it does not look like extra game inside of a game that does not match here. They already told us something like this, that they listened to this negative feedback. And as Colin promised that SAB will make return, I assume these above-mentioned things. Just hold on and live your life.
It IS already integrated into the lore of GW2. It has a story.
Also, I’ve been told repeatedly that just because a dev has something to say about literally anything about the game, that doesn’t make it a promise and I have no right to get upset if whatever they said doesn’t turn out to happen at all. So, which should I do, here, folks? Should I trust that this content is promised to come back, or should developers not be held to what they say, because sometimes stuff comes up and it doesn’t work out?
At this point, I’m half expecting SAB to be a feature of the expansion. And then people will come here and say, “They never promised it would come back for free.” because that’s totally not bullkitten.
The other thing I keep thinking is that we have all these other “activities” like Sanctum Sprint, Keg Brawl, etc. WHY isn’t SAB included in this rotation?
With all due respect, I vehemently oppose SAB being part of the “activity” rotation. It would mean modifying it, like Toypocalypse, so that you couldn’t queue with your friends, which defeats one of the BEST parts of SAB.
I find the game kind of half-formed, TBH.
The parts of it that are fully formed are great, but the parts that aren’t are almost comically bad.
The fact that people openly admit that some classes are next to useless and that guild chat is full of people laughing about how good they are at cheesing the game are evidence of that.
As a former WoW player, I’m used to a more fully rounded, more balanced, less amateur-feeling, less easily cheesed product.
It’s a very pretty game, though.
Well, something you might not know is that WoW has been out for a decade, now, whereas GW2 has only been out 2.5 years. I can tell from your post that you didn’t play WoW when it was 2.5 years old, because I did. Rounded and balanced are not words I would use to describe WoW, even after two expansions, let alone before the first one. And I loved WoW. I played it extensively through Cataclysm and then less so through MoP (I stopped about halfway through Mists). It’s just really not a fair comparison to be making.
I totally agree with your first two sentences, though, but I also acknowledge that they’re actively working to improve many of the systems that don’t work- notably, for me, conditions in PvE.
The trait fiasco makes creating new characters intensely frustrating and despite over half a year of complains Anet still hasn’t changed it.
They plan on fixing it but talk is cheap.
Just to clarify how long the traits have been in their current state: On the 15th of this month (less than 2 weeks away, now) it will have been a full year. The cost has increased from less than 3g to 43g and 360 skillpoints, per character. We’ve been assured for going on seven months now that they’re planning on making a change to it.
At this point, this whole thing feels like a joke. This new thread feels like a terrible joke. I guess it was just too inconvenient to have an 83-page thread on the front page all the time. This makes it look like less of an issue, I guess?
I would strongly advise not deleting your old characters before you’ve tried the new player experience and the trait system. Your new characters will have to unlock each trait individually.
The reasoning is so that you don’t have financial information about other players. Armor skins are re-giftable because, prior to the wardrobe, it allowed more than one character to use the skins. Now it’s just basically really expensive transmute charges.
Wait…let me get this straight (since i’ve not logged into the game for a couple of days): the April Fools joke this year has to do with airplanes?
Wow.
OK.
Oh, and hello Q2. How you doin’?
Everyone is running around in an aviator cap, with their arms outstretched, making “NYEEEEEEER” noises, and there’s a jaunty silent-movie-era tune that plays when you die. I seriously hope they add in the emote /plane for use in the game. It’s amusing. I’ve been jumping off the side of Rata Sum just to hear the music. I don’t understand why people want to make it political, when it’s obviously not.
So, on that note: It’s now April. Any chance we could have some real, concrete information about what is being done to fix the trait debacle? 2 weeks away from the one-year anniversary.
Way to alienate people with the swipe about being middle-aged.
It was a swipe to loss of innocence and taking everything way too seriously and out of context – you are the kind of person this thread was intended towards.
Oh, am I? Because I’ve been having a blast being an airplane. Despite being middle-aged.
Maybe he wasn’t referring to you. He specifically said Middle-aged carebear kittens that are hypersensitive to every little thing. There are several types of middle-aged people! d(‘-’d)
Yeah, and I bet there are people here who are upset (for whatever reason) over the April Fool’s day prank who do not fall into the category of “middle-aged” and the fact that an age-range was singled out is really telling. Sweeping generalizations, the assumption that all the people who dislike this are in a specific age range? Yeah, hypersensitive. Totally.
Way to alienate people with the swipe about being middle-aged.
I’m really finding myself more and more amused by this. I have added to my deaths immensely just from jumping off of Rata Sum to hear the music. I think it’s a good prank, and funny, and I wish /plane was a real emote in-game that would make you do that for a brief period. Thanks for the laugh, ANET!
I think it might come back this week, but that doesn’t change the fact that people have a right to be upset.
Despite my opinion of SAB, I just don’t understand why people can’t understand “no” when it’s being told to them over and over. Anet has already stated SAB isn’t in the current plans. How many times do you have to let yourself down before you believe them? Also, stop hating on Anet when YOU do this to yourselves. They have already given everyone an answer, now believe it or continue to be disappointed. I agree with wanting to know what are we suppose to do in the meantime, but throwing a fit about something anets already told you isn’t the answer.
All of that would make lots of sense except for the infinite continue coin.
It still makes perfect sense. SAB doesn’t fit into the current direction of the game. Not saying its never coming back, but they never promised a date. IF anything, what you can bank on is not any time soon, as they’ve stated. Which is why I don’t get people getting so worked up when it didn’t come today, as anet already hinted it wouldn’t.
You don’t get why people are getting worked up over the fact that it’s been confirmed that it’s not being worked on, refunds have been denied for the coin, and it’s been out of the game for a year and a half now? A year and a half in a game’s life cycle is… outrageous. To render something completely useless for that amount of time is a lot like walking away with the money, given how easy it is to outgrow games these days. A year and a half is not a reasonable gap between cycles. Not when the company itself created an expectation of 5-7 months with the first two iterations. And, sure, people were willing to be patient for a while, but when more than twice the amount of time has gone by, it is insane to think people shouldn’t be upset.
Anet has been listening to the community and hitting the right notes, in my opinion. People don’t want to pay real money for something they have to pay to reapply: Outfits solve that. People want to earn armor skins as a reward for playing the game, not for buying gems: Carapace, Lumi, and Glorious armor, off the top of my head.
I’d like to see outfits become more modular with respect to what can be hidden, and I’d also like to see them pay a smidge more attention to clipping issues, but by and large, I feel like this is one of the more positive decisions Anet has made over the last year.
I think this is a good thought, and you might want to add [Suggestion] to your thread title.
So, I didn’t read anywhere that said it would impact anything other than how much gold your wallet could accept in a given week. Easy solution: Invite people to your banker guild. People deposit sums greater than 500g into your guild bank.
You still won’t be able to pick it up right away, but you can at least still have some transactions going on. Or pick a different currency. T6 mats. Ectos. Karka shells. The amount you get from the trading post isn’t going to be limited.
They’re changing it, as mentioned above.
we didnt have it at all in 2014. its last release was september of 2013… can you believe that? unless my math is wrong, its been almost 18 months… come on guys, some of us kept our infinite coin.
Give us SAB back or refund our gems!! ò_ó
I believe they actually did offer a refund on it, a while back…
This never happened.
Adding my support for the change to Arah: Story. This makes a great deal more sense to me, and I think it’s a good change. Looking forward to completing my personal story.
For the love of God please make these threads stop. It’s random. It’s like me complaining about the rain in Seattle, pointless. I could carry an umbrella and you could do dungeons or something for gold then you could by what you want instead of crying on the forums.
Except nobody can control the weather.
If you are looting a monster and it was going to be a rare item and you had a 0.5% chance for the rare item to be an exotic, then 200% Magic Find would change that to be a 1.0% chance of the rare item being exotic.
It would actually be a 1.5% chance. A 100% increase would be a 1.0% chance.
I forget, do they start a new character off with 100% or 0% on the stat page?
If you have 200% Magic Find, then your chance would be 1.0%. If you had a 200% INCREASE to your base Magic Find (so actual Magic Find stat of 300%), then it would be 1.5%.
New accounts don’t start at 100%. It’s been about a year since I bought my second account, but I remember that much. I’m not sure if it’s 0, either, though.
I don’t really know how to math, but what would a 100% increase of a 0.5% chance be, then?
As for random: My first few weeks playing my second account, I got two named exotics from champ boxes, one of which was on a character below level 30.
Trying to get from zone to zone was easily one of the most frustrating aspects of exploration when I first started playing. If each zone is going to be instanced, the routes between zones should be clearly marked on the map, in the game.
If you’re sure it didn’t come from login rewards, it sounds like you got a lucky glitch. Congratulations! I’d file a bug report in game, just to be on the safe side.
If you buy unlimited access to a local amusement park and use it for a month, after which time it closes down for maintenance for a year and a half with the elusive promise that “someday it’ll be back” you really don’t believe that you would demand a refund, on account of “it’s been too long and my right to a refund expired?” Really?
Because I’d think you’d be (justified in) saying that you felt the business was trustworthy, that they were going to bring that content back seasonally, and learning that absolutely no maintenance was being scheduled for the park totally and completely means that you’re eligible for a refund.
No, I simply point out that they aren’t necessarily required to give me a refund, seeing as the content/park will come back.
People keep arguing that it was a stated fact that SAB would return seasonally, that was never even slightly hinted at. People ASSUMED it would be like that. Never in anyway or form have it ever been stated however. We know that it will come back however, therefore refunds aren’t issued.
I would also say that the reason that most people waited half a year before requesting their refunds might also very well effect it. If you want a refund for something, you request it in a short amount of time. Not half a year later. I can’t really think of anything that would allow a refund for a (used no less) item after that period, unless it expressively says so when you buy it.
The reason people waited that long was because there was a 5 month gap between the first two iterations. There’s no point in trying to have a reasonable, sane discussion with you. The amount of time between the first two releases, as well as the appearance of the coin in the gem store, set a reasonable expectation that this content would be making regular appearances. It is utterly dishonest to suggest otherwise.
ANET is no longer a trustworthy company, in my opinion. Selling the coin and then announcing a year later that the product wasn’t even being worked on; refusing refunds to people who have been patient and optimistic for a year and a half; these are shameful practices, and defending that is shameful.
So you choosing to delete these things knowing full well they would be lost is comparable to buying something that was rendered irrelevant?
That can be turned around as well.
We bought the coin knowing full well that the content would not be available at all times.
There was a reasonable expectation that the content would be brought back at regular intervals. This is such a terrible argument that I can’t believe even you are making it.
If you got to use your “lifetime membership” to a gym for a month, then it closed down “for maintenance,” you’re telling me telling me that you don’t feel like you should have access to some of the facilities after two years? Yeah, please do keep turning these arguments around, because they’re only helping my case.
Yeah, I didn’t think you’d respond to my latest assessment of this “argument” either, since you didn’t respond to this one.
This is an insultingly bad argument. The product was marketed as being reusable. It hasn’t been reusable. It’s really that simple. Just because you keep repeating this stance doesn’t make it right.
It was reusable for as many times as you wanted. Never in anyway or form did it say that it will be useable at all times however.
If I buy an unlimited access card to the local amusement park, I can’t really go around and demand that they let me in if they have to shut it down for maintenance or if it is only open during certain periods each year.
Everyone knew when they bought the coin that it was not content that would be usable at all times. The fact that people have decided to wait for over 1,5 years to demand a refund doesn’t really help their case.
A refund is not valid forever after all.

^ It is highly unlikely you would even be able to get a refund for an item that was bought over a year and a half ago actually. So I would say “mass customer support tickets” will not help anyone. Just the opposite in fact. It will just take time and resources away from real issues.
