Nice to know i would in fact say this should be worthy of a sticky imo.
However if i were you i would change your email password too just in case. Yes i know you said they auth mails were unread, but just about any mail service allows you to mark a mail you get as unread even after you read it (and i do that frequently to mails i know i need to be able to find later again fast), so is possible if they did manage to find both your gw2 as well as your mail account info, that they simply marked the mail unread after authenticating the login that way
Add Basilisk Venom to the list (thief elite).
It has the effect of turning an enemy to stone for 1.5 seconds (same effects as a stun). Ignores defiant, but is effected by blinds, blocks, evasions, obstructions, and invulnerable (you lose the venom application and it does nothing, in other words). Against players, it can be stun-broken.
So, it’s a mediocre-duration stun attached to an elite skill-sized cooldown, with vastly less functionality than the thief’s other options. However, it is the only elite for thieves usable underwater.
not to mention it takes a whole second to cast it so only really 0.5second effective duration, so only really useable in a venomsharing build
pick any elite from the Warrior class.
you kidding right?…
Signet of rage: 50% uptime of 5stacks of might, fury and swiftness assuming no +boon duration, and should you forget to activate it you get the bonus of get adrenaline regen, though you should really have it always on cd it is THAT amazing an active skill
battle standard: not only does it ress downed players with cast but also grants stabilty when cast and, might, fury and swiftness to all allies periodically, and ofc come with the usual banners skills when carried including giving party swiftness, as well as stabilty
Haven’t really tried juggernaut yet myself so cant comment on that but 2/3 amazing elites at least is better or at least equal than all other classes
i stopped reading when you said you see war and guards survive while your die as ele, yes a lot fo war guards do survive and a lot of ele die, but that is mainly due to mind set and/or different level of playing abbilty, ppl that are used to play tanks and thus spec defensively are generally drawn to stuff like war and guard and then spec them rather defensively too and play them like that too, where ppl used to play dps are drawn to among others more to ele and then spec for full glass canon yet never get how to play them properly (mind you i gave up on ele too, just cant figure them out either myself, so dont asm me the specifics on that) but i seen in fact guards go down in a few seconds of fight and at same fights i seen ele’s survive very well too, those are just the good ele’s ANY class including ele can spec both pure glass canon and pure bunker(tank) builds and a lot of stuff in between
Really? 80 fps in a massive zerg? Is that cpu really that much better compared to an i5 2500k? I only get 20-30 in a huge zerg on max settings.
well i use i5 2500 and get up towards 100 fps when doing nothing and with normal action at least a 60-70+fps huge zergs i don’t really have time usually to check my fps, but im rather certain it not below 30 likely quite a bit above that too, since i deffo dont experience any slowdowns in them, so my geuss is it is not your CPU that puts you so low
new daily taking more time? you kidding right? sure normal kills and events and gather were easy, but the kill variety I often had to get out of my way to complete, where now most times i do them with normal play really (with a few exceptions true but it usually less out of my way than i needed for variety in the old one)
Norn forms dont need to primarily last longer they need to be more powerfull too, fact is you get weaker using them, the skills themselves yeah are about the same as normal weapon skills but you loose all your utilities and your heal skill (and most of them dont have a way to heal even at all)
Moa morph while yes useless in most situation you are so wrong, first of all yes ofc it is affected by defiant since defiant is a protection against crowd control and that is what moa morph is, moa in itself aint weak really the problem is mass invis and time warp in 95+% of situations is just better. and moa last for 10 seconds.
would love that too and no it not only usefull in pvp, but also in pve, for instance with my mesmer i may be fighting as melee mob but there is some archers too so i swap too archer target and put a feedback on then and then i could jsut press the target the called out mob mob and much faster be back at attacking the melee one
Dodging should be such an automated response by now that you shouldn’t have to think about it. I got this one yesterday doing the 25 underwater kills killing Inquest in the zone south of L.A.
well if you play a ranged class you usually keep out of reach of melee mobs most the times, and well even more so if you play a mesmer like me 50% of ranged attack either kills my clones, or goes toward my feedback bubble, ie i dont get a dodge, and if they go towards me i dodge before they are close enough to me for the game to register it as a dodge most times, but no i do not personally ahve problems with it, but i can see why some ppl might find it frustrating
I do play a mesmer primarily. I not only dodge ranged attacks, I dodge to create more clones. Sometimes I’ll even dodge because my asura looks like Yoda flipping around when he does.
well my main is a lvl 80 mesmer as well and well my main way to dodge is with skills like phase retreat and such (yes i play a condition specced staff mesmer), so dont use my endurance that much really, and no i dont die much either in fact i tend to be last player standing in most dungeons, or at least one of the last when my group fails. and well as for making clones with dodges well i dont need that trait myself so dont really know but i doubt most of those dodge rolls for that purpose would trigger and evade

is fine as it is, just don’t promote someone to same highest rank as you, but make a rank with same permissions (which include to only moderate ppl of lower or equal rank of you) if you do not trust them 100% to not demote you
either you dodge too early through prediction, or dodge when Anet expected you to dodge at, get hit and dodge after.
While i dont ahve the same problem lucikly as you, since i aply from europe (no offence), still this seem like a weird way imo, since honestly a lot of times i find it better to dodge before the actual attack and make it jsut straitgh not even get close to hitting you rather thand dodgin in the last second, so well maybe imo just ahve it so that any attack that fully miss you (meaning if a multi-hit attack just hit once it wont count) from a mob that you are in combat with could be a better idea?
i dont belive so since it is the same account you use, if you are concerned about security, add a add mobile aythetification on your account and it will be next to impossible to access your account unless someone actually steal your phone too, since it generates a random 6digit number every 60 seconds or so i think taht you avhe to type in after you typed your username and password
tbh in msot games AFAIK feign death is more a assasin-type like abbilty not really necros, necros dont specialise in pretending, but in controling death… hmm pretending hmm maybe would fit even a mesmer more than assasin (known as thief in this game)
For me PVP needs to be something without any customizations, so less “customizations packets” to clog my internet connection, less things to load on the fly (system used in gw2), less things to be rendered, more fast paced action.
i belive the added a few patches ago an option somewhere to make you choose if you want to see friends and enemy in generaic skins with or without team colors or in each players chosen skin with or without skin color or something like that (dont really play spvp much though so havent confirmed it myself yet
Any class does not start getting real until at least 30 imho. Workin on a couple of alts now. I like my ranger as a support class, but can do most of the areas solo. The shores was rough running around. Still trying to wrap my head around the necro, but my guildie likes his.
i would actually got as far as saying at least most classes you need to get to 40 as taht is when you unlock 2nd tier of traits whihc in msot builds are where the really important ones are, the 1st tier is just adding a little polish imo, where the 3rd tier is for ehavy specialsation (inf act a lot of builds dont evne go into 3rd tier at all) where 2nd tier is where the traits taht define you build is at
well im jsut gonna paly normally salavage waht i normally salvage and a few days before month change in gonna look at it if i dont have it yet, and just buy a bunch of cheap white or blues on TP to salvage for it, if i need that
depend on your build (traits and what skills you use most) and your playstyle and also waht kind of content you do the msot, so there really is no definite answer (and taht counts for ALL classes
the only “new” gear from laurel so far the ascended amulets, whihc only provide sure a nice but small stat boost but not that much that it is crucial, the rings could already be gotten from fractals before, anything esle is only convenience items.
Also the daily dont really take more than an hour or 2 if you know where to go for them.
and really 2-3 months is nothing compared to what endgame gear would take in other MMO’s there you usually talk 6months+ at least and that might even be for the hardcore grinders sometimes
well it is called a daily for a reason, it is not a 2daily or 3daily but A DAILY
(edited by GummiBear.2756)
What pve skins are you talking about you can use in pvp? I never seen any mention of this, nor experience any of them myselves
How can you call it not a PvE achievement when it’s a vast majority of it is in PvE environments except the very small portion that’s in WvW?
And then i ask you how can you call it a PvE ONLY achivement when the fact is that is does indeed include ALL the WvW maps?
Personally, I never understood how Burning couldn’t affect objects.
well depend on the objects, metal and stone it should realistically not do much, but wood yeah it should.
HOWEVER going bu that line of thought you shouldn’t be able to burn or bleed earth elementals either yet that is possible. And can you really confuse an undead creature? i mean do they have a real brain to confuse?
Maybe flag toggle create a random cooldown when it’s unchecked so that it could be anywhere from instantanious to 5 minutes before it actually wears off. This would prevent anyone from planning to use it although it might not stop it entirely.
no amount of timer or anything would prevent mesmer abuse, would jsut change the delay from him getting in till he could port the zerg in…
Depend on my mood
I have never seen that behaviour in my life and quite frankly its total rubbish. You have my sympathy if people were kicking you from groups because you didn’t have enough achievement points. Gear elitists are bad enough, now there are achievement point elitists? lol
This is how i choose my pugs when leveling alts to 40 in AC Exp. Having a party full of folks who’ve been around the block before on their main’s makes doing the dungeon at 40 a breeze.
Having 4 people with 600 acievement points on THEIR main level 40’s is a much different experience.
yet the guys with 600 points might have done the AC exp before already, where as the guys with 3k may never even done a single dungeon before even on story, hell might even just have used a day or 2 farming agent of entropy…
Then it becomes like this
power>condition>everything else=0
You still need to consider precision+crit dmg, vulnerability, healing power(should this effect repairs?), chill(should repair take longer?), suggested corrosion(do repairs heal less? Is that fair?), suggested Rust(does it have stackcap or flat rate?), Condition removal, Confusion(does it hurt player to repair?), Weakness(should it prolong upgrades?), immobilize(should it prevent repair?) Cripple(slow player aftercast animation after finishing repair?).
precisions is equally important for power and condition builds, since all classes have traits that give a chance to proc an extra condition stack on crits. And well even 300+ crit damage is useless if you dont stack a sizeable amount of power as there would be next to no base damage to multiply in the first place then. For the rest except confusion those are supplements to BOTH power and condition builds, so shouldnt really be a factor on structures at all imo. Confusion should probably work kinda like what bleed will do to structures i say
the combos if done at the right times in the right situations is can be the difference between a succes and a loss really. As for the daily the dailyes are random now so you likely see it again sometime
The only change that needs implimenting is to extend the “you cannot sell for less than vendor price” restriction to buying offers as well… I am tired of going to sell items and seeing 5000 posts to buy for 1copper on half the stuff I try to sell.
im pretty sure you cant, those items are merely leftovers from before the patch that made it impossible…
I don’t want SOR, I want to be able to pull a single person out of death from a distance and pull the person to my location so that they will be out of aggro when they rez….
the closest you will get is this http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glyph_of_Renewal while in air attunement
occurs to me you ahve no idea how complex you can make a bot, would not be a problem to make a bot farm and area got x minutes (x being just below eht amount of time needed to hit DR) then have the pot use a waypoint to another area and then do it again there, wp to new area farm there etc etc, would take a little work on the bot developers to get figure out the most efficient time needed and how many places they need to visit before it can restart from beginning, but in a few weeks they do it, and be not affected at all, so would be a LOT of coding for a rather temporary gain
or just switch between different characters parked at different spots?
hmm true didn’t think about that, but yeah that likely ever easier to make for a bot programmer :P
@Seera Isn’t that more or less what I was suggesting?
For the most part. Yours means that people would not only have to wait for the EB to be controlled by your side, but is turn offable by the player. And the NPC’s can attack your player.
Mine is: you turn it on. It’s on for 2-3 hours. You can’t turn it off. You’re given free reign over the entire map, including bases your side doesn’t own (gates are open for you when you are have the flag on). However, it immediately ends at the end of the 2-3 hours. Even if if you in the middle of an enemy zerg. And you only get it once every WvW period. So once you use it, you have to wait for WvW to reset.
Makes is so that those who would abuse it have a harder time abusing it. Because let’s face it, anything that makes you unattackable, would be abused by players.
If it’s once for 2-3 hours without the ability to turn it off and only once per WvW period then people’s hoarding nature comes in: what if it’s better used later? Why don’t you use your 2-3 hour flag? If it’s just something that be turned on willy nilly, then it wouldn’t matter to them.
again a mesmer just need to be sure he are in Stonemist when it turns off then, and once turned off again portal the zerg in
yI think the idea with the overflow message being that center is that it forces you to click it. They don’t want players to ignore the pop-up because that means more people would have to continue waiting in line until that person decides what to do.
I think you misunderstand, we are NOT talking about the message that makes you able to go to the normal map, but the message that comes up as you enter the overflow, where all you do is click one button to indicate you read it (as if)
Simple solution: move the entrance to Fractals out of town. That should reduce LFGers in town chat too.
THIS so much, i still dont get how they could even THINK about putting a dungeon entrance in a main town…
well surely if you had to watch the battle more than a couple minutes it should have been possible for your team to ress you? if not well either a bad team, or a VERY VERY bad mistake on your part to die at a spot they can even reach you
can support this, getting quite annoying that overflow message by now
@ Agent Ice – well said.
I would like to point out that really this punishes a good group more than a poor group. If one person dies, and you can’t get to them, they are left out of the fight. Sometimes for a very long time if the group can’t stop to rez them or can’t get to them. You will have to completely finish whatever is going on.
The “bad group of rez rushers” that some of you say is the reason that we need this mechanism are less punished by this because they will all die and then all rez.
I think a compromise would be that after a certain period of time the person be allowed to rez and rejoin the fun.
ehmm not really, the good group would either be able ti finish the boss with a man down, and if not they try again and likely succed.
Now the bad group, would wipe, go in try again, wipe, go in try again wipe etc etc etc, where before they could just rush in and never loose their progress, so tell me again HOW are the less bad group punished less when they likely never be able to complete it versus the good group that at worst is just delayed a little
that would pretty much be the same as reverting the no wping while party in combat…
Can you say HI mesmer, standing at the back not participating in the actual zerg and as soon as door or wall is down strolls inside staying in enemy keep with no way ti kill him untill the whole zerg is ready for a portal
LOve those ideas, as you states yes some of them might be a bit on the OP side, but with some tweaks and such could be a VERY good base for a Skritt race. Also for me if you look at the map it should be very doable to fit in a lvl 1-15 skritt area as well as a skritt capital (okay hive might be better word here :P) at the NW/W of brisbane wildlands if you ask me, perfect amount of space for it and brisbane is the most prominent skritt heavy area too.
Should Skritt ever be a playable race i would diffenatly make one RIGHT away, where tengus, kodans all those others a lot of ppl seem to like, im kinda meh maybe sometime but not sure i would make one the moment they came out.
(edited by GummiBear.2756)
ehmm they already have that option for you…
Personally, I don’t understand why humans would have the majority or why players would want to pick a human to play. I suppose you could make it look like yourself and kinda of project yourself into the fantasy world of the game. How I see it though is I’m a human, I deal with humans all day, I don’t want to be a human in a fantasy game and I always avoid humans in MMOs unless there is no other option.
This is my EXACT thoughts too, nice to know I’m not alone on this
If you fail first time, and then try again the EXACT same way, obviously you will fail again, instead work with your group and adjust your tactics and you may have a better chance next time
I’m horrible at platform games, clumsy, and I tend to play alone, yet when I see a reaction like this…
*Get into low level zone, aggro few enemies, press “V” randomly, I’m SURE you will get the “Evaded” info eventually.
*Res dead NPCs. Game is full of them. Begin with behind the Shaemoor Garrison.
*You surely got some materials during your gameplay, simple refinement counts as crafting. Simple ball of dough from cooking. Bolt of jute. Copper bars.
*If the “combo” achi shows up again, just run and do some events on the maps where people lvl up and ping directions on the /y chat. Daily events pops in at the same time. Veterans might too. You don’t even have to TALK with people. Read descriptions on the skill bar, see which ones create combos, and just use them when you see some funny white circles on the ground :/ Oh, it’s also karma, and gold, and exp…
*Veteran Oakenhearts walk in packs.Everything is done on low level maps. The chances that one may fail are really really low, unless something is bugged on the game level.
Start complaining again when something is impossible for you to achieve.
This will sound bad, but sometimes I think that people who complain about new dailies like being rewarded, want laurels, want gold and karma just like everyone else, but they don’t want to put any effort to earn it. After making them myself I think it’s seriously minimal.
very well said, funny enough though i seem to find these new dailiyes way faster and a good deal of them easier too than the old ones
yeah devs stated several time that noone will get laurels for the jan monthly
this thread should belong in tech support tbh, but yeah as lafiel said try updating your graphic card drivers
you honestly expect a 58% speed boost?… already as it is now my poor mesmer only barely manage to keep up with other ppl, wont even begin to imagine if ppl had 58%…
hmm i think the pathc notes said something about a few new wp’s in an orr area, think it was malchor’s leap, not sure though) might be those?
how can you lack bodies to rez… some zones are LITTERED with dead npc’s just waiting to get ressed… for the ppl purposely dieing to let other rez them, that is just plain stupidity again cause there is so many NPC bodies around to rez it is is simply not needed. And really the dodging… do a single dungeon run or fractal run and if you dont have the dodge by end you are doing something wrong
I think this is a good idea and I’m not sure why people think that this will somehow break the game. 99.9% of people have a rebreather equipped at all times.
and this is exactly the reason it is a waste of the dev’s time, when barely anyone would even see this “feature” if you can even call it that
