what a genius idea, totally support
well the healing one have its merits imo, since once they are charged they are instant cast. Problem comes when you have to charge them mid battle again :/ so great for small intense fights but bad for longer drawn out once where you might need many heals.
The condition removal not too bad either, though i still prefer null field even solo as it can remove enemy boons as well
the weaker ones just cost less tokens, if that what you mean, also each dungeon have its own specific token
You only get tokens in explore mode, at the end of story mode you get one of the hats that can be bought from the tokens too though, and always the armor type of your character (keep in mind the hat will be 5 lvl’s above you if you do the dungeon at the lowest possible lvl you can
to add on what safari said, each skill have in its skill description “Combo field: XXX” or “combo Finisher: XXX” if it can be used as part of a combo
for once im not the one bringing up the “Computers cant do random” O_o, ehenver i do usually i get a 2-3 ppl at least insisting it can…
So yeah computers can technically do randoms, though at the very complex algorithms used by RNG most RNG, is semi-random enough that we will in fact see it as completely random
might have to make a ScreenShot next time, as a “blue sphere” could be quite a few number of things actually. Quite a few skills (specially mesmer but also some other classes) can make some bluesih spheres at least
I’m pretty sure the OP is suggesting an OPTIONAL fee. You can still play without paying, but you can cough up 15 bucks for gems hears Record Scratch sound effect Wait a minute. What? Why not just buy 15$ worth of gems? Something else would have to be added example, customizable fashion, a dungeon or 2 that can only be accessed if the party leader is a subber, a pet that follows you around and picks up loot automatically, one extra bar of endurance, and maybe a side quest line that’s different from the main quest (doesn’t offer much in the way of exp but decent karma maybe?) i’m sure there are other things that can be added to give subbers, grants what ever it is must not give them a ground shattering edge.
NO NO NO NO NO, every single thing you mention maybe except the fashion thing would be “pay to win”
If you want to support the game every month just buy gems, if you do’nt looking for extra benefits or anyting like that, i don’t see the freaking difference
making a /stuck would be far the easier than making blink work underwater I think, since blink is ground targeted, how would you decide on the altitude to us it on?
If you just looking for a mask, there are a couple different ones, beside the starter mask, personally I like the lvl 15 crafted one
haha yeah true, even perfect stuff, ppl find some way to complain about xD
again it will hurt players more than goldsellers no matter how you do it with mailing fee’s simply because they have more money than most
Would certainly be nice with a distance to target indicator.
Though 9-10 FPS? maybe consider upgrading your comp?
well at lvl 15 you only got 2 utility slots unlocked and likely barely got into tier 2 utility skills (those that cost 3 skill points each), help a lot getting more utility skill choices as well as opening up elites (at lvl 30)).
Also you aware of combo fields and finishers? where some skills in its decription says “Combo field: XXX”, and some say “Combo Finisher: XXX”, where you can use a skill from within or through a combo field getting and extra effect, depending on both the field and finisher, and this can be with both your own and allied players fields.
So no you want have one million skills on your bar, but the ones you have can be usually be used in a variety of ways, some more obvious than others.
And later on switching weapons and utilising combo’s properly, can be the difference between victory or defeat. Also as you get highest up stuff like positioning and keep moving will be more and more important (more so for some classes than other)
been bought up a couple times already, but is something that, deserve reapeting
Great idea
In fact it would hurt players WAY more than goldsellers, since gold sellers in general will be having TONS more gold than most players have
Making them immune, would be stupid, hell most number 1 melee skills hits more targets, so taking a wild guess you would make like 50% or more of the skills in the game useless against pets. Making them take less dmg from AoE could be nice enough though, but not too much reduction though
And are you using anything in offhand?
or well you could annoy the hell out of other legit ppl, spamming reports on them, ust to make them have to solve them
well if you willing to pay for a “collectible box” for them, why not just buy some extra bank space to store them in?
Isn’t there a maximum number bank slots you can purchase? And a locker will help keep things organised, just like the HotM locker does.
well find your own organisation system for it :P, dunno if there is a limit on bank slots however, only bought one and MIGHT buy one more but that is it for me im pretty sure
Would be great, and really fit the “theme” of the game, trying to encourage exploration as such. Any potential reward for it however should be only EVER able to affect PvE, No effects in not even WvW please. Maybe a decrease in wp costs for the zone of a the certain codex or what we call it, could be a potential reward as many ppl find the price too high at higher lvl.
well if you willing to pay for a “collectible box” for them, why not just buy some extra bank space to store them in?
Yes there is, just place them in an “invisible bag”
Given the fact that the story, home instance, etc., is tied to your race, race changes are very unlikely.
Dude.
For the hundred thousandth time, let me be the hundred thousandth person to say that AN AESTHETIC CHANGE WOULD NOT AFFECT THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.
Imagine changing your armor. Did anything else change?
Now imagine changing your character model to that of a charr. Did your story change? No, your model and associated animations changed. Did your voice change? No, your model changed. Did your home change? No, your model changed. Did your racial skill change? No, your model changed.
People seem to be having a hard time that there is a difference between how your character looks and how your character is recognized by teh game. The reason the game can cahnge you into a crab, moa, alligator, jellyfish, golem, dog, etc without flipping out is because your character model and animations are not the same thing as your actual character.
It is so, so, so, so, so, so, so unbelievably simple for them to do this. And people want to spend money on it! People are actively willing to throw money at this feature!
And did YOU read and understand the OP in here? becasue it is VERY clear there that it is due to the skills he wanted to change race, NOT the look
Not 100% sure but think the name would be reserved for you for about 24 hours or so after you delete the character
number 1 i completly disagree, in fact imo it give a worse idea of a guild seeing ppl leave, (imply the guild is not worth being in), than officers kicking (implies the officers are actually serious about the guild staying active and healthy).
Number 4 YES YES YES, please we need AT LEAST a last login and last represented, and more options would be even better.
Rest i dont care, dont mind it getting implemented, but dont mind if it dont either
Ok so Ebola’s answer is wrong then? All conditions tick every 1 second and to get an extra tick you must get the duration increased by 1 second?
Also, thanks for the build Killyox I will definitely try it out!
now i don’t know who is right and wrong, but even if it only ticks once per second, keep in mind that some conditions (ex. burning) stack duration so if you have say a 1½ second burning and you apply it twice you would get 3 seconds total, gaining a total of 3 seconds
Well this would leave us with 4 healing skills, and one less utility skill, than any other professions, so which healing skill would you move to utilty/drop alltogether and how would you then make a new utility?
A level 1 engineer can only have access to 5 weapon skills I’m afraid.
Geuss what? Neither does say a thief, or a guardian, since other classes weapon swaps first get activated at lvl 7, where engi’s can actually get their first kit at lvl 5 if they want.
Ele is the ONLY class with 10 wep skills at lvl 1
While yeah i agree with most that it simply does not fit the lore, a game with a similar form of combat and down scaling system, that have actual opposing factions it could work really well, since with the lack of huge gear and lvl advantage over your target it would actually be a LOT more fair than in any other MMO to date.
But again as i said it does NOT fit into the lore/setting of GW2
Also mesmers have a trait that make their illusions stack bleed on crits, in again you want both then
would love for thiefs to somehow bypass defences to help kill the defenders on the wall (but making ti impossible to kill the keep lord before a wall or gate is downed), not for mesmer to get inside unless they hidden in there from the past where they had access too it (owned the fort/keep, or had the outer door/walls down prior)

YES please, would love this
Make it more difficult to change a guild member into a leader.

Agreed, really stupid you cant demote someone even if you are the person who created the guild
People need to stop crying over Thieves. I’m 80 and it’s my main character. Make one and try to do anything else than PVP or WvW right now. Most people who actually make one understand that you are more fragile than a elementalist and you have a hard time on the dps side for dungeons.
Not happy with a class, just reroll like I had to do with my Necro.
O_o did someone just miss the VERY obvious sarcasm in this thread?
while yes armor and weapon sellers did exist in gw1 to give you the armor or weapons you needed, and while technically there is is armor weapon sellers again in gw2 (i suppose you mean completed hearts). The way armor and specially weapons worked being a lot more class specific, than in gw2, it could work that way, but going through a whole zone in gw2 you wont be sure you can get one of each of your weapons, meaning that way you would be like lvl 20-30 before you even got the opportunity to unlock all your weapon skills
hmm… while interesting, this could lead to one problem, being it would be almost impossible to be self-sufficient unless you make multiple toons, or constantly pay to swap professions. for a character to fully equip himself with armor+all types of weapon he can use, you would need 3-4 crafts for 1 character alone (1 for armor and 2-3 for weapons, depending on profession). Add jewellery on top and we looking at 4-5 crafts to sustain one character alone. And then we not even touched food as well, or the fact that many crafts require the same base materials.
This does NOT mean I don’t support your suggestion, but would likely need some kind of adjustments to make it work properly.
He will kill a kitten every hour until they do. Please save those poor kittens.
xD
What do you mean for “Kitten” sake??
“Kitten” is the forums replacement for swear words, I bet you can figure out the rest yourself now
@Sarabi which class actually have teleports that work over gaps? I know for a fact all the thiefs shadow steps is blocked by gaps and such too (so pretty sure they work technically the same way as the mesmer teleports)
Agreed fully with OP here too, another bonus effect would be that classes with very limited constant AOE abilities (think thieves and mesmers ex.) would actually have a chance to contribute too before everything is just AOE’ed to death.
Just because some random put it on the wiki as a condition doesn’t mean it is. Secondly “Save Yourselves!” isn’t removing it from allies. and “Contemplation of Purity” does not remove it and change it into a boon.
Less rude man. I said no flame, just explain. Ask nicely and you shall receive :D
maybe look at the icons INGAME? the red box with a downward poiting tip it has (shared with posion bleed etc) means it IS in fact a condition (unlike daze/stune etc that is a perfect sqaure), or the boons with a orange box with a upwards pointing tip
and how exactly do you suggest they deal with them?
For burning damage happens all at once each second since it stacks duration. Bleeds can have multiple ticks a second, up to 25/second on a mob. Poison is the same as Bleeding.
wrong about poison there, poison stacks in durtion, and thus is the same as burning more
As for you worrying about balance, all the professions are more or less balanced (no they are not 100% yet, but is quite close), os it is mostly a matter of knowing your own class (and preferably the enemies too to a certain degree at least) to combat them, and then simply being the better player
Work fine for me most times, consider FIRST teleporting away from the mob and THEN smoke bomb and most times it will drop the aggro
Yeah, no, you’re blatantly wrong.
You’re a mobile leather-wearing Thief. You’re meant to be tricksy, evasive. Play to your strengths.
/sigh
Just try to level some other class someday. And you’ll see for yourself how weak Thief is. All your “tricky, evasive” is just another wording for “lacking the ability to stomp trash mobs like every other class does”. For the most impressive display of power you can try Guardian. But don’t complain that after playing Guardian it’s hard to convince yourself to log on your Thief again.
Funny enough, my first character after launch was a guardian, which i got bored of and then created a thief, that i had a LOT more fun on
for pure PvE i LOVE the thief, yes can be a bit tough to get the get the hang on to not die at first, but once you do you should rarely take any dmg in most pve situations, if done right (personally running D/P and SB for soloing) and the +25 passive move speed signet makes you get around fast. the number ONE rule to surviving is to ALWAYS move
WvW is part PvP and part PvE
While technically right, it is like 80% PvP and 20% PvE or something like that
