However, I would like to highlight these issues because it has become an increasing problem with high level party’s of 5 joining random matches and stomping all the low level players, thwarting their fun.
The problem with this is that even if you join a match while being in a party, you cant be sure to be placed on the same team in a random game, only way to be sure to play together is tPvP
a lot of their abilities are random. 3 of the 5 skills on staff generate random boons on allies or self and random conditions on foes. no direct ability to heal allies.
however, in support mode they can dish out a lot of boons. what is this translates to is a character who can be a potent but unreliable support character
I wouldn’t call it unreliable at ALL, first of all the many reflects you can get is nothing but reliable, and while the boons maybe be somewhat random, it not as bad as you make it really, for instance staff #1 is might or fury, ie they gives more dmg, one way or another, with staff #4 (or chaos armor from ethereal combo fields), gives protection, regen or swiftness when you get hit, ie helps you survive etc
And what is the use of the auto kick after a certain amount of activity crap? If it was designed to kill bots temporarily, it is not working and just annoying players that do afk or switch windows for long periods of time.
ensuring the servers don’t get filled up with 50% of the players being AFK for longer periods of time maybe? (same as any other MMO out there really)
Engineers can only use pistols, rifles, and shields, meaning that without kits, they’re going to be stuck with ranged attacks.
While technically correct, it is more of a skirmish range than real range for the majority of the skills, so you are most of the times (unless you use longer range kits) be relatively close, without being all way into the face though
True power of this signet lies in it’s active.
This, try use it with a full set of “Superior rune of Lyssa” then hit the signet after you use timewarp
really nice idea, and while yeah your 2 aren’t too creative, the idea of it giving distortion to allies is awesome, would be a really nice support skill, would love something in line of this idea
for a full 30 points i would be missing most stuff, though just getting a few points i would love (only things i have is MOX and a lvl 20 pet)
for the people saying it still don’t know, make sure you are NOT in overflow, wvw bonuses don’t work in overflow(not saying it is not possible something still could be bugged ofc, merely ensuring you are at your own actual server where the bonuses apply)

actually the triforge pendant (assuming the wiki is correct) have a total of 320 stats (assuming the 3% MF and critical dmg each equal 40 stat again like all the otehrs stats on it are), where an exotic amulet seem to have 218, so it have more than exotic stats, cant find an ascended item online nor have it ingame yet so dunno how much they have

As of tonight I am getting the bonuses finally. As one of the players that hasn’t had them since launch and not server hopping, I believe it might finally be fixed.

Are you getting more health now in LA compared to LA overflow? I’m asking because I’m not totally clear on where the HP bonus should take effect, in PvE or only WvWvW.
For me, it’s still the same everywhere, overflow or not.

This is because if you haven’t changed your runes on your spvp armor it counts those in as well (and you start with a full set of “superior rune of <your class>”)
This is PURELY a visual bug though the actual effects you get is as if you have that 1 rune you equipped only (or however many runes you equipped) on your pve armor
ehh so say a thief using dagger/pistol, would then all of a sudden shoot bullets out of his right hand when using #4 and #5 (and part of #3 as well in case of thiefs)… that would look beyond stupid…

might be wvw bonuses, or might just be a display bug, i dunno how exactly they behave in the HP bubble vs the H screen exactly since i been bugged on that part since headstart
actually for a mesmer try a staff condition build, as your staff clones then will be better dps than phantasm really, and it have insane survivability as well then. With the staff cd+summoning cd trait the staff clone summon have only a 5sec cd so even if you use that alone it only 15 sec to have 3 up. or you can throw in a mirror image utility or the clone on dodge trait and you have 3 clones in no time
i believe contacts list will only find them by character name if they are online only otherwise you have to use their accountname or the 4 account digits even, not 100% sure on this though
You can make a game map without invisible walls or cliifs around it… One way is to make the map an island with deep water.
I feel i have to accept these things as they will n ever change in this game. its the way it was designed and nothing will change that.
However imho I really hate “zones” and prefer seamless open world enviroment like in asherons call for instance…
you know we can swim in this game right? so the island idea simply do not work, beside it would seem stupid if every single zone was a island
so you don’t want mountains around the maps, nor do you like invisible walls? so you like to be able to jump out over the edges of the map i assume then?…
Trust being outside the edges of a map is not fun, as a mesmer i tried that a LOT (stupid teleport bug(though that big has gotten better than it used to, thought that would be for another thread

O_o pretty sure that is not 100% accurate tbh, had mobs get feared on several occansions when they hit one of my illusions while i was still wearing a full set of superior rune of nightmare
did you just read tooltip or did you actually try it? since the tooltips don’t always reflect all sources of +duration modifcations even if they work fine
in regard to theifs and spamming skills, well you have to quite often since a lot of the thief weapon skills are a LOT more situational with little to no dmg on them(so really act a LOT more like extra utility skills than actual weaponskills), so you really would pummel the thief dps in the ground adding even a short cd on them, take a d/p as example (that is the weaponset i run most on my thief thus know most about), and well 4(headshot) and 5(black powder) is offers off the wiki’s tooltip a measly 84 dmg each, but provide a daze and blind respectively, where even the dagger #1 first skill in chain (double strike) list (x2)188 dmg, and heartseeker even at 100%-50% HP deal 336 dmg which is by far not an efficient use of initative to use it at such target HP level, so yeah you would have to redo majority of thiefskills even if you add a 1-2sec cd on them to make them deal a lot more dmg those that are used for utility to this day
(no i do not say or imply that thief is perfectly balanced, but adding a cd wont fix it, hell might in fact make it worse, if it not done VERY carefully)

had something very related if not being the same bug in fact with one of my friends quite consistently, that as soon as I try to invite or even whisper him he would instantly go to “offline” status, and a little while after it changes back to online, if i try again then same thing happen, essentially making it impossible to speak with him unless i should meet him randomly in the world somewhere. Is quite a while ago though, but kinda lost contact with him due to this

So and elel could like send a fireball towards another ele, that then counter with some waterspell making it cancel the fireball and send a jet of steam on the enemy after they collide midair

sorry but GW2’s combat is WAY closer to true action combat than tera… before you get a real true action combat you need to be able to always move around while fighting, i thing tera does NOT allow you, but gw2 does…
dont use scepter in your main weapon set then yeah, though if you do it right with about any offhand you can be ready to swap before you get a clone out of the scepter#1 really. Though i like the idea with a 1sec of confusion on scepter #1’s 3rd attack too would be a nice one really
Mine cast bleed. I’m regularly able to stack 10-15 stacks with my clones. Do you have “any” condition duration or bleeding duration runes/sigils? Or condition duration from your build? Sharper Images trait is pretty much essential for maintaining high bleed stacks too.
yeah same i usually have about 15 bleed stack with 3 staff clones and sharper images trait and around 45-50% crit chance
Sometimes it makes the NPCs stupid looking. And sometimes, much to the delight of Ash legion Charr players, it reveals things that we couldn’t see before, like Sicaea the Shrouded’s head. I don’t have a pic, but she has pink/red fur. Awesome. And Caithe doesn’t look any different.
but dang zojja looks stupid without her headgear, kinda wanted to play a new asura character, but i cant really stand looking at headgearless zojja so enver get to play that chraracter

I know wht you are saying, but mana is the EXACT SAME as initative, so if you give mana to other classes, you are basically giving them the thiefs class mechanic, ergo, you would have to get the thief a new one

Thief is fine. They have a unique resource for their skills but I’m just surprised elementalists don’t have a “mana” like the used to. Things like Mana could really help balance things out as a second “cooldown”. Some might say X skill comes back to quick well if it required a significant resource amount then it’d be a different story.

Yes. That wont happen in wvw though. If it did happen, luck would decide who won.
ofc it wont realistically happen, it is merely an EXAMPLE on how it would be able to see a clearly advantage, in that one dream scenario, where you could be pretty sure the side with the ascended gear would win. and if it would matter in that particular scenario it will always have SOME impact, just in a less extreme degree
As for the ppl saying it is only 1%… well it might be FOR NOW, when we only have jewellery, but ANet have specifically said with time you will be able to equip a full set of ascended gear, and well the stat difference on rings of different rarities generally are bigger on armor and weps than on jewellery, so will end up with a LOT more than 1%

well every single abbility on torches at least do dmg, where only 2 of 3 profession ahve warhorn dmging abbilties and even then only a single each
“heal” is not a role in GW2, but a part of but not all of “support” so yes we dont have a lot of heal, but we got tons of support (Null field, feedback etc)

Or maybe you are missing the point, as a staff +scepter/diffenret offhands mesmer, i have a corruption sigil on my staff, i do NOT want to loose my corruption stacks becasue i swap to my scepter, since that is the way i can do a big stack of confusions, so want as much effect from those as possible, so yeah either you please the type of gameplay you do, or the type i play, and well unfortunatly for you, it works the way that support my playstyle.
So yeah working as intended
