Between making PVP not enter-able until level 22, to siege disablers (WVW BAND-AID), now this! Seriously ANET!? You’re taking what WAS a great game and “fixing” stuff that’s NOT broke. This one has to REALLY take the cake!
Just saying… you can still enter WvW and EotM using portals and the hotkey. I was in EOTM on a level 2 the other day.
I would like to see it where a well timed dodge roll could reduce falling damage by a small amount, say 20%, to give that small window of extra survivability.
I was surprised at finishing the ‘Blast From The Past’ mission and suddenly. “Victory Or Death: Kill Zhaitan”.
No explanation, no exposition, nothing. Just “Kill Zhaitan” like it isn’t the culmination of what would be in realistic terms a several month mission just to get to the critter.
But Anet doesn’t care, or they’d have sorted the problems by now. SO many problems, going on for SO long, and NO fixes. Anet is putting no care or thought into their own game anymore.
I am at the stage where I am actually angry at myself for continuing to support GW2.
Oh, just as a note, it appears they have nerfed Victory or Death even more. I solo’d the Ooze tower and pretty much solo’d the Orrian Weapon tower, all the mobs on the ship decks during the Dragon Champion and Zhaitan phases melted like butter. I mean, it was like being in a level 10 zone with level 80 exotic gear.

I am in the UK and regret making my EU account. I play on the US megaserver most of the time now. If I could, I would buy 3 more US slots and have my EU characters ported over.
You know you can transfer your account to a US server right? It’s exactly the same process as transferring within a region. You’ll have to pay gems but that’s all.
Yup, but not from one account to another.
I did think about transferring my EU account to the US, so I could have 2 characters on 2 computers involved in roleplay (for example when they, in character, are partners)… but I felt I’d probably go schizophrenic!
US servers: fewer trolls, more friendly and welcoming, FAR friendlier and lively map chat.

EU feels mostly like a solo game, with people actually telling you to shut up if you try to spark up /m conversation.
As for the lag, it is there and noticeable, particularly at peak times. Worth it though.

I cant play Charr because they are horrendously badly designed and their armour likewise.
I wont play Norn because the run animation looks kitten y and I’m not into the He Man Muscle Mountain look.
Most of my characters are human (9/14), 2 Asura because I finally found looks with those little ratlings that were palatable, and 3 Sylvari basically because of Greenpeace Crolis from Dominion: Tank Police. Actually, my first chara was Sylvari.
As for profession/race combos, I have been through this several times before as to why I don’t think certain professions fit some races. But in summary, IMO…
Humans: any profession.
Sylvari: Warrior, Guardian, Ranger, Thief, Mesmer only, with a possible exception for Elementalist.
Charr: Warrior, Guardian, Ranger, Engineer only.
Norn: Warrior, Guardian, Ranger, Engineer, Mesmer, Elementalist, Necro only. (all except thief)
Asura: Do not really fit any of the professions – they have a tech and culture of their own.
Make alt. Do it again.
Ad infinitum.
Yeah, like Batman utility belts. Convert all the hobosacks to miniaturised versions that would fit on a belt (aka flamer has a small fire tank, propellant tank and thinner hose to the gun… whereas Tool Belt would look like a construction workers tool belt. Grenades would be a bandolier layout etc).
This way we could have the option of hobosacks or belts with another back piece option.
I dont know, actually assembling skins on a Hero panel screen, and then pressing ‘Make Outfit’ doesn’t sound so hard.
Would it be possible to allow players to assemble their own chosen outfits, assembled from armour skins they have unlocked, that they could then display over other gear? Maybe make the outfit a 5 or 6 transmute charge cost item, but then have it set in the outfit wardrobe. Maybe a ‘Custom Outfit’ item could be created and made as a rare drop and/or a gem store item. Perhaps it could even be used to mix and match town and armour items, but that is probably not feasible at this point.
When levelling my latest character, I was using all pickup gear, and would have been grateful for the option to have a consistent appearance, made up from items already unlocked by it, and previous characters.
Malchors is a level 75-80 zone. Most of the creatures in the zone past the entrance will be a higher level than you. You don’t really need to go to Malchors at level 74. I’m almost 100% positive that a reasonably competent player at level 74 could get through most of Malchors without experiencing what you have.
It may very well be a learn to play issue. Stats are important in this game…but not that important.
13 level 80s, playing for over 2 years. The main difference to normal is that I was levelling using only pick up gear where usually I gear up with rares every 10 levels, and the NPE.
Thanks for the condescending tone, however.
REPOST:
So I am level 74/75 in Malchor’s Leap, wondering why every Risen Chicken and trash mob is melting my face, when I hit level 76 and get a sudden attribute boost.
I’d forgotten about the idiotic stepped attribute system. And if it is this frustrating and annoying to me, think about what it is like for new players who don’t fully know the system.
Almost everything in NPE other than the guide compass for the starter zones is counter-intuitive and counterproductive to the experience for newer players.
When you expect to be level 75 when you are level 72, vets get a LOT harder.

I’ve had most of my 10 traits (level 74 now) from map completions. Theyre still there.
Here’s another lesson, the forum has carrots too. They delete/infract the onions but keep the carrots. You’re welcome :P
That’s fine. Only reason I’m still here is because I am still finishing a new chara I made to try out NPE, and because of the promise of improvement. If the latter hasn’t come by the time the former is complete, I’m gone anyway.
Megaservers, not so. Gear grind definitely.
What I was referring to, in the main, was the undeniable change in the core character and design of the game. What I am referring to is investing my time and interest in a game to the extent that I have with GW2, only to have the game change completely.
I’d actually like to thank Anet here, for I have been taught a valuable lesson.
In any game I play in the future, I shall never make a second (or more) character. Not after we have been **** over a barrel with Ascended gear grind, these unnecessary trait changes, Megaservers and removal of content.
This game feels more and more like an unrequited love.
I love GW2 and it keeps going its own way, expecting me to give up.
I’m kitten close to doing so.
Also, I am sorry I ‘yelled’ earlier. It is due to frustration caused by passion for GW2, being blunted by bad creative design decisions.

We have been screaming about the worst offending trait requirements for months!
Befriending Ogre Camp!
Priest of Balthazar!
Champion Overgrown Grub!
Dungeon Story Completions!
NOONE IS LISTENING.
This is happening all the time now, plus conditions running out on their timer and still being active for up to a minute afterwards.
The weapon/armor level rewards are useless and cannot be salvaged, only stuck in forge.
As I’ve said in another post, unless the stats are what I need then I have zero use for them :-)
Really? I have a level 63 character on the new system and haven’t bought anything at all from the TP.
Rewards are fine.
I got hyena’d later on as well. 5x cripple hits :o
So when are these ‘changes’ coming?
Seems we had a spurge of information from Anet, soon as they see we are satisfied they disappear again.
Oh, branded whiptails. My goof.
Anyone else seeing doubled or even tripled mobs hanging around? I’ve had it 4 times today where I have been attacked by massed identical mobs, in Fields of Ruin and Blazeridge Steppes.
As an example, here is a swarm of 5 destroyers which flattened me from out of nowhere. They were all following identical paths, stacking on each other, generally acting as the same mob but duplicated.
I gets better.
Short Fuse, essential trait for Bombineer build – CoF Story Mode when Im not in a guild.
Grenadier, also essential engineer skill – Risen Priest of Balthazar.
Now the last time I needed Balth for a build, it took 4 days of waiting before I could even fight him since I usually only have a few hours a day to play.
Clipping fun!
My engineer I made to try the NPE is now level 59, nearly 60. How many traits does it have? A free +1 from me if you guess right!
But Anet isn’t listening, they don’t care, or they’d have acted by now. Nothing will change.
Engineer for fun, Warrior for group events, Ranger just because I kinda like them.
Will probably never log into my Necro, Guardian, Elementalist or Mesmer again. Don’t know why I made them at all, to be honest.
If they can have Aatxe, which is a mythical creature specific to the Basque region of Spain, I’m sure Wyverns are possible!
Not to mention the Rhongomyniad which should have no place at all in GW2 lore, but does.
What is christmas? Christmas does not exist in Tyria, nor should it.
Wintersday.
Anime Charr hair is now free in the gem store.
Actually Charr have a Sayan hair style ;|
Yep, I think thats what he means, make it free so everyone has it.
Of course if you wanted to change it to something not completely stupid, you’d need a makeover kit
We was annoyed to be told by dead players where we gone, so this change is a nice touch on keeping dead people dead. It is the wery same when we go out & play Airsoft, it is not allowed to communicate in any way if you’re out of game. For a good reason.
I really hope you know what I’m speaking about. Right?
Exactly. In airsoft, ‘dead men don’t talk’. I think this is a kitten good idea.
I’m levelling an engineer now, and funnily enough the only times I have struggled, it was at level 11 and level 43. I wonder if this is the reason?
There are none coming, so no point in prioritising something that doesn’t/will not exist.
I have 14 characters so I chose one.
Adria Zanotti, Engineer, former Charr slave.
Smell: “Wot? So folk says I smell eh? Lessee ‘em smell when I burn their craggin’ noses off, eh?” – Adria doesn’t wash often so she smells of a pungent mix of B.O and cordite.
Peanut Butter: “Um… chunky. ‘course. Smooth’s fer dem sissies wot spreads it on dere posh bread ’n stuff”
$300: “I dun’ craggin’ well care. Jus’ ‘and it over an ya don’ get ya face melted!”
Pizza: “Meat. Los’ o meat. NOW!” True fact – Adria has NEVER said please. She is allergic to courtesy.
Dogs: mouth full of freshly cooked meat… “Uh, wha’ kinda dog wuzzis? Thass me fave then!”
Maths or Humanities: “Stuff all dat. Stuff’s fer dem edjumakated poofters innit?”
Thank goodness for something!
I also just noticed that the Support The Human Delegation where the treaty is taking place in Fields of Ruin, now has Suspicious Barrels with fizzing fuses that are non-interactable. I think they used to be disarmable/removable for the Reknown Heart.
Now you don’t get the option to kill him after the interrogation…
In the Killer Instinct storyline under the Vigil, you used to defeat Pyzor Ironmane then have the option to kill him after the interrogation. This has now changed.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Killer_Instinct
Can anyone confirm whether or not Caithe killing a Nightmare Courtier in Discovering Darkness (White Stag path) has changed too?
Also, being unable to find a water bucket when the farmer is screaming “MY CROPS ARE BURNING!” or words to the effect, is heart breaking.
Is that intentional? I don’t recall seeing that on the tooltip for the ability anywhere.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vengeance
‘There is a 25% chance that your character will rally and lose the effect when killing a foe while in Vengeance.’
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sweet_Revenge
’Vengeance has an increased chance to rally.
Percent: 100%’
- Down warrior skill “Vengeance” : Often you still die even if you get a kill
The skill has 25% chance of keeping you alive if you kill something.
This. You need a trait to get 100% chance of survival on kill. Sweet Revenge its called.
I havent done a CoE exp for a loooonng time but yes, 4 kd death lasers sound similar, except in a starter zone.
Why does Dr Bleent shout about Ooze Booze when he doesnt sell it anymore?
Why do we not fire ooze gunk from the cannons now?
Why can you not have Danador change you into a sylvan hound?
These and many more absolutely pointless and nonsensical changes. Why?
Yeah, you need 2 dodges to escape that attack. If you only have 1, or there are other mobs about, good luck!
Anyone else getting massacred by these things? They do the rapid punch thing and just flatten you!
I started an engineer, Tilly Cogsmith, on EU. Here is my story:
I started with Shaemoor as usual. I followed the compass blindly, only doing what it told me to do.
It led me to the small farm, where I wondered why I couldn’t feed the cows or put out burning bales when bandits attacked (no buckets). I continued to follow the compass, never went above my character’s exp level, and only downed on the mission where you escort a convoy to Claypool.
When I hit level 10, I did the story missions when they popped up.
I zapped through Queensdale in about 3 1/2 hours and was level 15 before I finished the zone. Never had to buy one piece of gear.
I found it ok, to be perfectly honest.
Oh, and you get an Order weapon of your choice after joining an Order.
