it would be funny the guild hall for a 5 man guild is fairly cheap but also just a broken down old wooden house with a three legged table and 4 chairs.
And some crayon drawings of the Elder Dragons, with a similar crayola graffiti on the door saying “seriuz dargon huntin guild”
They’ve made it very clear in the past that having two accounts running at the same time is fine, but having two accounts set up in a way where one click or keypress causes both accounts to do something at the same time is verboten.
If the forum search worked I’d link you, but it doesn’t so… I guess trust me that I saw it explained that explicitly at one point. There was no ambiguity at all.
Its all good, I’m happy to take your word for it. I wouldnt risk 2 accounts plus $500 plus worth of purchases for the sake of it
I posted elsewhere but will repeat here.
Ranger, Longbow. Im in Dostoev Sky Speaks. I am entering the tunnel that begins the path to the Gate for the vista up there. Pet is on Active.
In front of me are a Dredge Disaggregator (closest) then 2 Dredge Excavators.
I fire. Longbow hits furthest Excavator. Pet does a Bob’s Dog and runs UP the tunnel ROUND the corner to attack an Disaggregator that isn’t even in line of sight.
I won’t be making a Revenant, or any new character, until they fix the traits.
I’d love to multibox two of my characters but I’m not sure if its bannable. 2 copies of GW2, 2 accounts, 1 mouse 1 keyboard. Each press would only perform one action on each account, I can’t see that as an issue.
I wanted to send a message but mail is full.
I can see how loss can send one into depression and how online friends can help you out of that pit. My parents passed away 19 days apart (long story) and it certainly can knock the wind out of your sails. Sounds like she has a great family to be there for her though
An Engineer with DUAL WIELDED Sinister Welding Torch… and I can’t even use ONE!!! :’(
I so want Mace and Torch usable on Engineer so we can have Fixer-Upper and SWT!
On Q3…
I would highly recommend you join a US server. Much more casual friendly and helpful, and far fewer people who don’t understand English. I’m in England, and as with every game I play, I will never choose an EU server again.
On guilds, I suggest you join a guild based on having played with them first rather than joining one which advertises or just invites you. Get to feel comfortable with them, then join.
A couple of times I have been tempted to make another character. I put a level 20 tome on them… then spend whatever Tomes of Knowledge I have collected on them… maybe even do some PvE play…
Then I remember the trait acquisition system, feel almost literally sick, and delete.
It depends on how you monetize it. If your goal is to make money by increment with micro-transactions and such then it is profitable to keep players playing much and as long as possible. RPers aren’t as quick to hit the “end game so game over” point in provided content and they tend to make up their own “soft” content when given the tools to do so. Thus keeping them logging in and looking at all the cool stuff they can pay for.
Um… sadly, I think Anet showed us what they thought about roleplayers with megaservers, town clothes and the removal of the Personality system.
They wouldn’t miss us.
Re: title. Sadly, the game doesn’t need roleplay features. Or roleplayers.
Even more sadly, the developers know this. Roleplaying doesn’t make money, so developing content for it is not a productive use of resources.
I, personally, have never see any computer game as an RPG when it tells the story to you rather than you making it yourself.
Try to find enough interest to log in for at the moment, sadly. I will be back but I’m just bored right now.
They might do, actually. They helped me replace one item from a set of armour skins I bought, though they did stress that it was an one off act of goodwill.
Nowt to lose by asking.
Try when it is not US peak time. I just got a transfer straight to it, but it was at 10am GMT which was 2-5am in the US if I have my maths right.
Skill 4 is supposed to build a cannon. It does not.
Not sure. Depends on what the playstyle is. If its more magical than physical, I won’t bother.
Yes, I will buy it. Twice, since I have 2 accounts.
One box version, the other can just be a CD Key.
If there is a Collectors Version, I’ll buy one of those too.
Warrior used to be my go-to class for taking on content, learning it, and then playing it with other classes since it is pretty easy to use.
These days however, Ranger is my go-to class for this. Greatsword/Longbow Ranger, especially when traited for Piercing Shot, is so darned powerful, it walks over most content. Utility skills give permanent speed boost, and with the right traits you can deal 20+ vuln on any enemy you attack. It just melts most enemies.
All that Anet has to look at is the METRIX™ and see how many Charr, Sylvari, Asura and Norn characters have been made compared to human. There isn’t enough of a playerbase desire for a new race. I know that is is extremely likely that I would play any new race.
I can’t see the majority of players wanting to play any of the maybe possible new species: Tengu, Kodan or Largos. I don’t think any of those will ever be available to play.
Yeah, I’m trying to get some mixed valk/knight gear to tone down the defence a little for group play. That should help.
Is there any hope of reducing the amount of aggro you get with higher toughness gear?
I’ve just been playing on a thief with PVT gear and zerk everything else, and fighting against the Gravelash for the Living Story 2 part 3. The darned thing was chasing me all over the combat area, jogging past 3-4 players just to come after me.
I solo a lot, so having defensive stat armour is useful to me. In solo situations where everything is targeting me anyway it makes no difference, but in any group content (or where groups form around DEs) it quickly becomes a liability as all the extra mobs that appear due to scaling all… chase… me…!
I’m not saying that toughness should not aggro, its part of the ‘soft’ trinity right? Bit perhaps it could be scaled back a smidgeon?
I was watching Wooden Potatoes assessment of the HoT trailer and he said that the new areas will being ‘much higher graphical fidelity’ to the game.
I am really, REALLY looking forward to seeing stuff in GW2 that is even more amazing than what we have but… I really fear for how my poor PC will cope.
Anyone else concerned about the minimum/recommended system requirements for the expansion areas?
Glad to see all my infractions and 3 suspensions were not for nought!
Any US server.
Forget EU if you want only English, or if you want a friendly community. US servers are the way to go.
Whatever game I play, I never go to EU servers.
No no no!
Okay, maybe. But only if Charr, Asura and Sylvari have the option of having a set of human ears tacked to s headband…
What the game needs is for toughness, vitality, condi damage and healing to mean something.
Longer encounters does not necessarily mean more challenge unless that challenge also has more than insta-ganks that wipe you whatever stats you have.
I am all for adding the requirement for healing/tanking in harder encounters, but this can be done without going full Holy Trinity. There is a lot of grey area between the black of DPS-only and the white of Trinity that can and should be exploited.
The ramp-up time of most condi damage is an issue. It needs to deal maximum ticks at the time of infliction, then peter out, rather than build up. Otherwise it will always be less efficient than straight up damage. Likewise, enemies should be able to damage in ways that are not BOOM SHAKE THE ROOM insta-gank. There needs to be an opportunity for a support/healing equipped player to assist his team, provide boons and healing, whilst still being able to participate in damage to the enemy.
Surely a system exists which allows all classes and builds to be at least partially self-reliant whilst also having a role to play in group vs challenging encounters situations.
No. Go play another game.
Few people are happy with it and despite the hollow assurances Anet have attempted to give, 8 months of ignorance suggests that they have no intention of changing anything.
Far as Im concerned, this was never an MMORPG. Its an MMO Action Game. The game can provide the tools, but it cannot provide the RP, that has to come from the players.
Roleplaying has received a relentless assault from Anet, change after change seemingly aimed at breaking RP up. They succeeded and I quit trying a long time ago.
Yes, the hit-men are on the way.
Thanks for contacting Break-A-Wish™!
I bought a £700 PC for APB: Reloaded.
facepalm
Gratz for being able to go did you get any goodies? Take any pics? Share, share!
I’m unlikely to bother. I don’t like ‘magic user’ classes much.
Are they anti-RP or do they just not support it as much as people would like? There is a difference.
Okay… to rephrase.
The only changes Anet have made that has affected RP have all had a negative impact on it, and they have never implemented anything RPers have asked for which would assist them. The RP community is insignificant to Anet.
Anet is anti-RP. Sorry, but thats the fact of it. Walling off areas where we could go to find peace, refusing point-blank to reduce emote range so as not to affect non RPers, and megaservers with no official RP shard.
Heart of Thorns will see the return of Scarlet, and you will be Trahearne’s right hand man as he fights to defeat her!
Well if it were me, I would also invest in an outfit of her choice. I know of several people who’s girlfriends were put off by how ugly armours look at low level, and with the new transmute system, you don’t accrue enough charges to keep your look constant and/or attractive.
I dispute the title.
While I have a Warrior, I am definitely an Engineer, as was my father.
My mother however… well, her name WAS Zelda (which means Maiden of Battle or similar in Hebrew ).
I’ve put in a request to Support to see if its possible.
Since both accounts have the username GuzziHero (.2467 and .5104) and indeed the second account’s email address includes guzzihero, they will see that I am genuine and consider my request.
Cheers for the advice!
I think I am the only one not interested playing as a big bird :/
You’re not alone. I have absolutely no interest in them either.
Largos rely on mystique for pretty much their entire racial characteristic. Bringing them out into the open makes no sense whatsoever.
Whatever their rules and traditions dictate, they pretty much write themselves off, willingly, from interaction with wider society.
Im not sure. I think you can group for them all.
If you need help, let me know and Ill log back in.
I’d buy it, maybe not play it. My group plays TSSI and Cyberpunk 2020, its not their style.
Even if I can prove ownership of both accounts? Still, I doubt there are processes in place to even make it possible.
I have 2 accounts, one is this one, the other is GuzziHero.5104.
I have 6 spare slots on 2467… is it, or will it ever, be possible to move my 3 characters from 5104 over to this one? I am sure it is actually technologically impossible but never hurts to ask!
Where is increased grind if you can now level from 1-15 in 1-2 hours when before
you needed mayb 5-6 hours ?Also have you ever tried to unlock all weapon skills on an elementalist before the NPE ?
THAT was really grindy ..Of course .. the trait changes are still bad .. but they were not part of the NPE.
I never mentioned NPE And neither did the OP, he said new levelling experience.
But pedantics aside, I think most of us are of the mindset that traits should be part of the levelling and character building process, not endgame achievements as they are at present.
What’s that? You can get most traits before level 80? Well… try getting a place in a dungeon story group on LFG without being level 80.
