Playing the ’Don’t Shoot The Messenger’ part of the storyline and if you move more than about 20ft away from Eilye Jeyne she seems to get lost and just stand there.

This is an appeal for Anet to provide her with a map so that she can find her way if the battle moves on without her.

There are plenty of non-skimpy armours, and the introduction of outfits only increases the variety available.

I am a gender neutral and if I could change things and be female r/l, I’d LOVE some of those skimpier outfits! I’m jealous, really!

Obviously this is considering that the real life military takes on Mordremoth as he is right now without any additional, anti-real life magic added. If we’re considering Deus Ex Machina in this you could also say all they have to do is spawn a black hole in Tyria and delete everything.

Without magic, Mordy would be defeated using biochemicals… but at the cost of poisoning huge areas of land and possibly a large part of the water table. The military would then have to control the population as sickness from drinking contaminated water and reduction in crop yields, plus chemical induced mass deaths of livestock became Tyria’s major concern.

Then come the birth defects and increased strain on medical facilities… what came after Mordy would make the dragon itself look like a sideshow bagatelle.

Far as I know, it still does it for racial story yes. Each step has an equivalent stage no matter what your race is.

You get a prompt asking if you want to accept their personal story completion. If you click yes, your equivalent step autocompletes as long as you have completed the step previously.

In all seriousness, As soon as you finish the tutorial you could meet in Lion’s Arch and everything from there is do-able. You don’t even have to do each other’s stories, yours will instantly complete as soon as you assist your spouse with theirs of the same level.

Unlimited ammo doesn’t mean anything at all. Don’t know what you are smoking. A Charr rifle can only shoot things at a close range with limited firing rate. Any machine gun can fire hundreds of rounds per minute at a much, much longer range. By the time you have to reload, you will already have killed an entire regiment of “4 foot armored roaring Bigcats”

“Vastly overestimate the utility of artillery and air superiority” well actually I don’t. For you to claim that the US “lost” in Vietman because of air superiority proves you don’t know what you are talking about. Vietman wasn’t about destroying an entire population, it was about conquering and converting Vietman from communism to capitalism. If their goal was to wipe out all of Vietman, they would have likely been able to do so, unless if the USSR interfered. Also how is Afghanistan a defeat? Have you seen the state in which that country is? Do you even live on planet Earth?

So much hate on jet fighters. Case you haven’t noticed, their technology is designed to fight off giants that throw boulders at them or out-of-control golems and Inquest. I’m pretty sure that a plane capable of reaching speeds of 3000km/h and firing missiles with huge explosive power is well beyond the giants they typically fight. Have you seen the poor firing rate of the MEGALIT cannon? And that’s the best laser they had. A jet fighter would have made short work of Zhaitan with no difficulty.

All Anet needs to do is write [Reflects Projectiles] into the enemy’s algorithm and your military is scuppered

I have HFA/Aspergers which in my case causes gender neutrality.

I find that men, especially manly men, intimidate me, and so I feel more comfortable playing female characters, plus it allows me to roleplay the other side of my nature.

Well, I have confirmed the Superman Theory. Superhero masks DO work!

The character is The Badger btw, published by First comics some years ago.

Personally, I find it detestable that the Welsh town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is shortened to Llanfair PG on maps!

In case it wasn’t obvious, it is far from infallible.

I come from Stoke-on-Trent, which was once the world centre of pottery manufacture thanks to the rich clay soil in this area. Do I get offended by being called a ‘clayhead’? Nope.

In actual fact, I applaud Anet for including some (very light) cultural racism in the game. It exists in far more serious measure in the real world, and if fantasy casual racism offends people here, then it is doing its job right. Better in fantasy than in reality.

I… sort of see where the OP is coming from.

Divinity’s Reach is not just a city to the humans. It is their last capital, their last bastion of resistance from the brutal and monstrous creatures that threaten their entire race. You’d think they would show it a little more reverence.

I believe that the mobs were reduced by about, or over, half, some time after game launch. We used to call it ‘Risen ping-pong’, you’d dodge from one right into another. You got overwhelmed quickly…

…and it was brilliant once you got used to it…

Now, once you find your feet you can get pretty much anywhere in Orr unmolested. Except for that gosh-darned skill point in the maze and the ridiculous one in King’s Passage. I still gather a mob for those ones.

It has been suggested time and time again. They can’t even implement multiple build saving…

The two situations aren’t remotely comparable. Build saving is a mere UI/mechanical issue. Sounds easy in theory; probably more complicated than we think (although I do wish they would explain why it’s taking so long).

Adding events is much more complicated:

• You need dialogue and voice acting; neither is simple to design or implement.
• You need event chain scripts and need to ensure that these don’t interfere with other things going on in the zone.
• It gets even more complicated if any of this becomes instanced.

Well, I was really referring to the adding of a character story dialogue box in our character UI that was Inspectable by others but…

I am enjoying the LS storyline. LS1 was disjointed, felt a little like random short storylines Sellotaped to make one larger one, but still good. LS2 was excellent, really good narrative and enjoyable content.

There just seems to be a lot of story being told to us, and not enough of us being able to tell our own stories.

Sadly, extremely unlikely. This is why I call GW2 an MMOAG or MMO Adventure Game since roleplaying isn’t really in the equation at all.

With the extremely crude way we are just dumped into the open world with no back story (the character creation options barely even count in this regard), have all our choices and character attributes ignored by the game with its one-mission-for-all-professions layout, and not even the ability to put a backstory dialogue in our character menus, I can’t even pretend to call GW2 an RPG friendly game let alone an RPG in itself.

I love the game, I love the open world content system, but the personal story and any roleplaying aspects are worthless.

I don’t expect anything. We have expected things in the past and always been disappointed.

I’m just logging in for daily rewards then logging back out till HoT release.

I love Engineer but Ranger is my most effective class. Any others I could happily never play again.

• Make up ONE title you would like to see implemented into the game and provide a brief description/objective on how to obtain it or why you would like to see it as a new title to obtain. “Doesn’t Give A Skritt” / go 6 months without displaying a title / it never actually shows up in your titles, it is your new blank default

Thing is, I can defend Anet in one way by saying I understand that they don’t want SAB to be a distraction from Living Story or in game content.

But there is no in game content being added right now other than gem store items. SAB would be a welcome addition to the game while we wait for HoT’s release. I think a lot of players in game will be bored and disinterested by the time HoT comes out, without distractions.

I also think that we will never see SAB again (or at least for another year) and that Gaile is not being given all the information that we wish she was.

I would like a refund on my coin too.

Its like buying a car and the dealership says “You can only drive it for 2 weeks, then we lock it away for 3 years”.

Does America still have the totally backwards system where goods are listed minus taxes on the shelves?

No, you can’t play cross-realm. A lot of people find helpful guilds in Lion’s Arch and Divinity’s Reach. It may be worth asking in there if any friendly guilds are recruiting.

Largos without the mystique of their rarity would be nothing. Their secrets are what makes them interesting. Plus clipping issues.

Also, bear in mind that they would play with the exact same mechanics as every other species. Anet is not capable of making each race or profession different or unique in any way ( other than how much clipping there is).

First person view is coming. Maybe that is more like what you are looking for. Perhaps it is the ‘third person disconnect’ that is causing you to enjoy the game less. I fear, however, that AOE attacks will be very difficult in first person perspective.

First one you can do legitimately with an ele + mesmer (or at least, used to. Been a long time since I’ve gotten on top of those things, so not sure if any invis walls were added.) Not sure how the second one’s done; never tried to get on top of the portals before. lol

If you pay attention, two of the golems in the second picture are actually hovering in air.

That is called Collision Volume. Imagine an invisible box around every item with a contact area which you can’t pass through. Stand on any object and you can be mostly off the thing visually before you fall. Items which aren’t intended to be walked on can have larger collision volumes.

I totally agree with 4, 14 and 19. I would never stop kids from smoking, swearing or seeing porn. They will see/do it all at some time anyway. I would however be there and try and give them any advice they needed.

Regarding 21 however… I am asexual. I have neither masculine or feminine traits, play female characters as escapism not only from my life but also my gender, and haven’t had sexual interaction since 1997… I guess I confuse you

As I was saying in LS chat yesterday, stories of out and out attempts to exploit people’s desires for these items backfiring on the seller make me laugh heartily. I really want the Aetherized Pistol skin, and I find it extremely amusing that those people listing them will never sell them at the price they are up for, yet removing them to try again at a lower price will lose them money.

You remind me of the the very worst stories of corporate greed. I have absolutely no sympathy. On the contrary, thank you for enlightening my day with this story of greed gone bad.
