One thing I do regularly is send 12slot bags to new players, and simply ask them to pass them on to other new players when they obtain larger ones. Im hoping I can start a chain of kindness and respect.

I sent this 7g til Bolt guy 1G. I didn’t get a thanks, but sometimes people i mail bags to don’t thank me, so that’s all good. Then when he was on again I noticed from my friends list how few Achievement points he has. As I watched, I saw his location change to different maps all over the place.

People like that make me sick.

I find PvP and WvW to be exhilirating when you are winning, and frustrating when you are losing.

WvW in particular feels hopeless, no end product, it is just cyclic and repetitive.

PvP I can never be competitive at because of various physical restrictions that I have.

This is on NA servers.

Like you say, he isn’t actively asking for gold so it isn’t really reportable. Still pretty annoying since I do try to be nice to folk, and its disappointing to feel that I’ve been taken for a fool. I often buy 12 slot bags and give them away to new players and such, since in game money means nothing to me, but this is a scummy trick.

While I cannot give the name of course, there is a guy constantly going around each map in turn shouting “Only 7g til Bolt!”

Do not give this goldskitten anything out of courtesy or kindness. He pulls this trick constantly. PM me if you need/want his name.

Maybe that’s because “enough” people haven’t asked for it before? Sometimes Dev’s need some pushing before they act on things.

Wait till you get to the parts where you fight entrapped animals and other people. That is far worse to me than toppling some gears, and makes me feel icky. But its part of the game so we have to suck it up.

Does anyone know the actual dyes that the Aetherblades have their armour in?

Sometimes it feels like Anet is a Ship of Fools who fail to give even A Little Respect to the lore of GW2. I understand that the Chains of Love that people have for GW1 makes people wish that this game would Star more of the old history.

Lots of players feel Oh, L’amour, for GW1 of course, but I fear Cantha is a Victim of Love… and Who Needs Love Like That?

People really need to Stop all the Drama and leave it in The Circus. Anet crosses River Deep, Mountain High to bring us this amazing game!

Skritt, Hylek, Grawl, Ogre and Quaggan – Not happening as they are minor races which are part of the personal storyline as investigation species.

Tamini (Centaur) – No. Antagonst race. Plus since Anet is so lazy with armour skins for Charr and Asura, theres no way they will bother with Centaur. Imagine all the armour pieces they’d have to redesign.

Tengu – The most likely candidate for a future playable, but unlikely due to the above

Largos – Extremely unlikely. They are a rare species and making them playable would cheapen their impact. This species only really exists to be mysterious.

Ettin, Imp – Minor race. None of these have shown enough intelligence to be playable. Plus armour skin redesign isn’t going to happen.

Krait, Harpy – Antagonist races. Plus, see Centaur

Margonite – Dont know anything about these, really

Dredge – While some can be allies, this is very unlikely

Giant – Not a chance…

Twisted – Antagonist race, no intelligence at all, slave machines to Scarlet

We MAY seen Tengu but it will be in the far future. The others will never happen. Sorry.

With all the over-use of CCs in some places, over-use of insta-gibs in others, there is just no incentive to run a tank or a healer. You have nothing to gain and a lot to lose.

GW2 will never, without very significant changes, support Trinity play, nor should it.

Tens of thousands of players, like myself, would run to the hills if strong Trinity was implemented.

Cause if you can add the skin then theoretical if you and a precursor drop you could craft the legendary and at least have the skin after the bata.

I took a Black Lion salvage kit, salvaged an item on Rev, went back to non beta character and the salvage kit use was not logged.

This is different. This is trying to persuade people to buy HOT for the beta tests by tantalising them with seeing the Revenant in open world. This “We dont do betas just for marketing purposes” is bunkum. A lot of people preordered HOT largely for the ability to test Revenant early.

Although it is backfiring slightly with the Revenant not being up to snuff right now.

I just solo’d Victory or Death on an Engineer, with just pickup gear from the storyline and wanted to offer my thoughts on the experience, and mention some bugs with the mission. This will contain considerable spoilers for those who haven’t done it yet.

Gear was mostly level 70-80 Rare armour with 1 piece 60 rare, and 1 80 exotic. Weapon was rifle, 80 exotic. Back and amulet 80 rare, no accessories, 2 level 57 and 80 rare rings. Stat combinations pretty random.

Stage 1: Tri bosses.

Pressure plate part was pretty easy. The boss inside was half dead before he even gave attunements. What became immediately apparent was that even with all of Destinys Edge there, I got all the aggro I downed once, mainly because with a broken hand I couldnt manouvre. Caithe never took damage, I could have left her to do it all.

Obelisks died quickly and Bloated Creeper boss went down fine. Risen Knight came for me exclusively again and attacked so quickly I ran out of endurance. I downed once, but so far so good.

Stage 2: Giants.

Tried to get on a cannon, no go. Kept getting kicked off. When I finally got on one, I fell through the ship and died! Rest of the battle was annoying, trying to get on a cannon long enough to reflect a shot back at the giants (attack option is gone) before I got killed by the 2 deck mobs that kept respawning. CC in group content is okay I guess, but massed CC in a solo mission is infuriating.

Stage 3: Towers/Mouth

Ooze tower was a cinch. Orrian tower less so since they kept respawning. Again I downed and died but would have been OK if I could have manouvred properly. A challenge but possibly if you’re on your game. Gorilla tower was okay, the Orrian Eyes could be picked off from a distance. Constant CC from the Orrians was hugely annoying.

The Mouth… totally annoying. He didn’t spawn Fiery Orbs very quickly and I did get killed once which wouldnt have happened if, once again, I could manouvre well. Because of that I kept running out of endurance and got taken down. Still, a decent challenge.

Stage 4: Dragon Champions.

This part seemed OK. Challenge was set just right, even if again the CC spam was infuriating. Got each champion down in 2 fire-rounds, and got chance to heal between mob attacks.

Stage 5: Glory of Tyria and Zhaitan.

Oh dear.

Large AOEs are barely dodgeable at all but the mobs went down ok. The problem is that between during one of the cutscenes I became surrounded with mobs, and before I could react, a second one started. At the conclusion of that one I was hit with a tidal wave of CC, and stuns. Only a very quick change to bomb kit and slamming on dodge as fast as I could prevented a down and inevitable death. AI allies of course stood there doing nothing. Got through the rest of the mob stage fine.

Then came the problem – the cannoning of Zhaitan. While you are on a cannon, Zhaitan throws a massive pool of poison which you can barely survive if you immedately get off the cannon and double dodge back. If not, and I couldn’t, you can expect to be pretty much insta-killed.

A quick res, back onto a cannon, and now I also had to face Tendrils of Zhaitan as well. I stuck to my guns, got Zhaitan down but… the Tendrils didn’t die. So while all the ally AIs stood around and cheered, I got downed and killed again.

All in all the experience was… okay. If I had all 80 Rare or Exotic gear I am sure I’d have made it through no problem despite my limited manouverability right now.

Pro: I think the challenge is set about right for the most part. Better players than me wouldn’t have downed at all except maybe to the Risen Knight.

Con: The practically insta-killing Risen Knight which exhausts your evade options too quickly. Absolute constant barrages of CC. Annoying near-instakills on the Glory of Tyria’s cannons.

I hope this helps any players that may be concerned about the soloable VoD storyline.

If they were inactive NPCs for interaction but didn’t engage in combat, they wouldn’t be able to press attacks in stupid directions, aggro unnecessary numbers of enemies and run off leaving you to face them, and otherwise make things more difficult than they need to be.

Heck, it may actually bring some skill and tactics into the game if your thief, for example, were forced to actually engage enemies tactically rather than just ‘swing x weapon’ which is the one-size-fits-all storyline as is.

I’ve just done A Grisly Shipment and for soldiers and ‘Commander’ Trahearne, they sure do act erratically, all spreading out and aggroing everything below deck, then when I got engaged in combat by a risen with an immobilise, they promptly ran off and left me to die. Gah!

The Ai characters are a total liability. I’d be better off doing the story alone. Please think about allowing this option. They add nothing to gameplay, only cause issues.

I told folks that theyd get an entire EXP level if they killed an Ebonhawke chicken. After a short while there was a whole crowd and we did, finally, slay them all!

Cheers Flamethrower is one of my fave skills so thats cool. I’m currently running FT, 2 elixirs and Defensive Golem since all the decent elites are AoE, it seems.

Yeah, I broke it in a motorbike crash. And I thought riding on race tracks was supposed to be safer!

So, I received the news that I have broken the pisiform bone in my right hand, and need to take 4 weeks off work. Now the treatment for broken bones revolves around Rest, Immobilisation, Compression and Elevation (RICE) which effectively turns me into a one-armed bandit for a month.

The only thing I really want to do in GW2 right now is level an Engineer. Can anyone please recommend me a build that I can use one-handed?

I went through this with a 5 player team and… wow was it easy. There seems to be no upscaling at all.

I’m eager to solo this when my only non-80 character reaches this part of the story. From what I saw the other day I should ace it.

Yes, I know that most armours are designed to work with other armours of the class and wont mesh with others. But please let US decide what works and what does not!

My level 80 ranger with exotic full zerk gear except for rare soldiers spine and ascended zerk trinkets only gets 1890 precision and a 46.38% crit chance! Where the heck are 79%+ figures obtained?

Actually, a good argument could be made for the fact that religious belief is a mental illness.

Here’s the DSM-V definition of delusion:

The line “The belief is not ordinarily accepted by other members of the persons’s culture or subculture” is the only thing which distinguishes religious belief from delusion. Of course, that was only really added for political purposes. If 90% of people say the sun is blue, well… You get the idea.

When I was in CPGB[M-L] I actually wrote a paper on religion as a mental illness which was critically acclaimed by several British doctors. Might have been published if I hadn’t had my funding withdrawn when I left.

I of course know that ‘straight’ people have never been discriminated against, but if there was a hetero pride march anywhere, they would be blasted with criticism and called bigots.

These days, the most marginalised people are straight, white, young males who are single and without religion. Seems theres a focus group for everything, except them.
