I think some fun traits that might help mave some vit or toughness viable, do something like X amount of your toughness is applied to your allies where X is a % of your toughness. Could even do it for empower allies although i suspect that would hurt the healshout warriors…

Call me crazy, but I do believe some info about the next update, even if it’s just “hey, we’ll give you a potato in 4 weeks” would calm down the people impatience… such is the gw2 community hunger.
While we’d love to give you a time and date of when we’re sending out the potato, remember that during the development process we may discover that a baked potato would be even better. So instead of getting the potato of your dreams you end up with something completely unexpected.
It often happens that a mashed potato with gravy is even better still, unfortunately gravy requires more dev time. So we end up shipping a mashed potato without gravy to meet our promise of ship time or we push back the time and date of when we are shipping again and again. You get your mashed potato with gravy but it is delivered much later than it was expected.
Worst of all that is when we realize that potatoes are way too mainstream and that yams are where it’s at now. And I think we all know how reactions seem to go when we ship yams instead of potatoes.
So in a lot of cases the best we can do is tell you that we are still in the kitchen cooking things up, we’re reading your feedback, and that we’re excited to get the meal out to you soon™.
So what you are saying is, the feature patch was a potato with ants on it?
We need actual PVE balance and content that is not more agony damage related. Necromancers in PVE are dead weight, mesmers phantasms keep getting broken each patch and are relatively useless in aoe situations. Most traits are still garbage, many utilities are garbage.
The same as the ratio of Unicorns to Leprechauns.

Lilith I have to say it. I love your asura, her range of emotions are vast and appropriate.
To be fair, the engineer is doing good damage now, especially with riffle. He obviously doesn’t have the banners or self stack might abilities from the warrior, but in a group setting where he does, he does some good damage. All in all, I am impressed with that engi solo lupi.
To my understanding, bleeds come on a first come first served, if you have a 40 second bleed, a 3 second bleed from a berserker can and will overwrite your bleed once you are at the condition cap. Only condition that takes into account condition damage would be burning and poison, since it takes the highest hitting one to go first.
I guess since we have less weapon strength, then precision > power in in this profession?
When you factor in reflects then its more important obviously. Truly interesting.

As others said though, ranged is usually a nono in dungeons, no worries, as you learn the encounters you will know when to dodge. Rangers have a few nice dodge buttons on sword 2, 3 and dagger 4.
I mean there are already how to play videos out there by the GW2 devs, you know, the pistol/pistol thief and whatnot. How can a player not know how to play well after watching those? /sarcasm off

So one of the things i love/hate about elementalist, there are many different builds that you can make. In such, i really can’t decide how i want to make mine. I mostly run dungeons and fractals, no WvW or sPVP.
I mostly want to be either making combo fields but want to deal sick damage, while minimizing damage. Main dps route would be to stack some bleeding and burning, add some vuln and go into water mode / lightning hammer to do some 30%-40% increased damage assuming health is over 90%.
As for weapons or gear, i really can’t decide if i should use a focus offhand for more survivability support, or staff since it can do everything. In gear i’m either thinking rampagers for the condition damage i can deal with burning or bleeds or just go with crit damage.

In the expected DPS column, what trait dps setup are you using to meassure current dps vs previous?
I’m sure in the next fractal update, Fractualization 2: The return of the leaderboard, there will be some grinding, dredge and rng. The drop rates will all be decreased.
So the 1k gold bet is not going to happen? This makes me (and many other people that were probably going to make gold) sad.
If only they reworked life siphon a bit, it might make necromancers more useful. That and increase the scaling for life siphon damage, I mean, 350 power = +1 life siphon damage?
The heal skill has potential but the cast time and internal cooldown destroy it. Might be useful for burst fights.
Aside from posting an elitist LFG, jusk ask people nicely what they are running specifically when they join or questions to determine if they actually know their class(some will be angry at you but it’s worth it just to have no headaches later).

It still occurs, It’s a champ farm, but it’s so inefficient I think, there is no way this can be profitable.
I find the same thing with any of the not-commonly-run paths. I usually do a gear check for SE2 for example, because I got sick of carrying people in masterwork cleric’s gear who just wanted the achievement.
Why would you do SE path 2???
My only guess would be dangerous amounts of boredom or masochism.
While we at it, we should make pets share the exact buffs we share. Not talking about might fury and all those boons. More like stuff like frost spirit, banners, time warps, things that are limited to the 5 person cap limit and severely gimps the pets DPS. Currently the damage difference between ranger + pet and the rest of the classes is ridiculous.
Go with scholar’s or strength. No reason not to especially if you have reliable might source. Only reason not to get strength is $.
They should just add a gemstore item called game support or balancing. So they know we want the money to go there, not more harvesting stuff or dumb wardrobe, looking at you lawless.
Any thought of returning old temporary content while we wait? Stuff like super adventure box, queens gauntlet, zephyr sanctum are all great places that are already in the game, just no way to reach them. It would take maybe 10 minutes to enable their use again and presto, you have temporary (hopefully permanent) content while new patches come out. Everyone is happier*.

Necromancers need a big overhaul, especially in PVE, they are severely lacking.
They can do ok damage and self buff might and such. With dagger warhorn you can do some burst aoe damage. But again, they are very kitten compared to other classes.
I would hope there are no more feature patches to deal with. Watching this game slowly fade away and die over 4 months in a last ditch effort that a feature patch will bring people back is not a roller coaster ride I want to take a second time.
We need lasting improvements on a regular cycle. I don’t care if they want to approach them one class at a time, one genre (PvP, WvW, etc) at a time, or what. But I can’t sit back and wait another 4 months for nothing meaningful to change and a lot of what we did get to be very poorly implemented.
I agree. If only they had different teams, so that they could continue with the LS stuff but not let the rest of the game suffer because of it. A dungeon team would be a nice start, PVE class balance. Then again, maybe it is just destined to fail…
I’ve seen berserker gear be successful in WvW. Just have to be creative in how and when to unleash your deathstick.

How about you realize he has a different style then you’re own. If it happens to not work in your party, fair enough, tell him the reason why and move on. Telling another player their entire fighting style is useless simply because of a choice of weapon. you handle it like a person facing differing ideals and combat, you adapt it into a team strategy.
I am glad that you’re trying trying not to be some beserker obsessed jerk, but you’re following the same mentality of “I see his build as useless, so I don’t want it”. I think through he post I’ve read in the last 4 days(2 as lurker), this game is balance enough to handle any potential combination, is why I even bother playing it. the last thing you want to do is make the environment toxic by trying to call out entire weapon sets garbage.and gyler, why not jsut start a new character and play the game again. there is more of the game than just lvl 80 content. you’re right, there is a limited endgame content, we have world vs world for unending lvl 80 combat, PvE by definition must have an end, and when you reach that, you play the rest of the game you haven’t gotten to play in a while.

The reason people leave this game is because of lack of endgame or worthwhile content. It is all temporary. Also the blatant profession bugs / issues that continue to go unaddressed for now 1.5 years.
I think I’ve found the root cause of this zerker hate.
For about 1yr I’ve been posting something along the lines of “p1 experienced zerks only” and just going with whoever I get after maybe kicking one or two PVT leechers. 30% of the people who join my LFG are NOT zerks and are there hoping for an easy carry. 20% of the people are zerks but have a horrible build/utilities/weapons. 40% just don’t know how to play their class efficiently nor how to handle themselves when things don’t go as planned. This resulted in 90% of my “zerks only” pug runs being a total mess. In the end people just remember the horrible experience they gotten from a supposedly “elite zerk speedclear” run and blame it all on the zerks/elitist.
Once I started actually checking everyone who enters and promptly kicking anyone who isn’t running proper gear, dps build, or appropriate weapons & utilities I found that now majority of my pug runs started to actually be GOOD. At the end of such run everyone always says something like “only if all my runs were like this…” before leaving.
Zerk hate comes from people joining “zerks only” runs where majority of party members just can’t handle the meta, and then when kitten hits the fan they simply resort to blaming/hating the “zerks” and not seeing that they themselves are the real problem.
It boils down to this:
There is absolutely no content in this game that requires zerker anything.
But, Some people prefer zerker and some don’t.
I have days I want to run it and days I don’t.
PvE is mindless in GW2 as it is quite frankly and the only thing zerker is intended to do is try and make the run go faster.
For me at this stage of the game – I could care less if the run takes me 5 minutes or 8 minutes.
I’m in no rush anymore to get to the the next stack and dps dungeon.
I understand your point of view, I do the same most of the time now. Usually post “name of dungeon path, something witty” and go with it rather than just zerker only. Something about taking 5 to 10 minutes to kill the effigy is truly awe inspiring.
Some people though don’t want to waste their time carrying other people in dungeons though, it is their right to play this way and the group description says it. I’m not sure what i’m writing anymore, it’s late and i’m tired.
Play how you want, but let others play how they like.
FGS Exploits, with walls and stuns and heals!!! One thing they did right was not skip cut scenes. Long live the immersion.
It’s simple, stop joining groups that ask for zerkers. Stop expecting to be able to run your crappy 1/5/3/2/5 builds on your rangers in FotM 49.
It comes down to understanding the content. PvE is all about damage with the way the AI works. Yes, you can run other specs and it works, but it takes far longer and it’s ultimately pointless. Toughness and Vitality are incredibly selfish stats. They are simply there to allow you to make more mistakes, that’s it.
The only time you’ll be kicked is if you join the wrong group. Join casual runs and you wont have a problem.

For solo play sacrificing shield blast(3 might) for rifle’s higher dps is probably worth it, right?
Of course, shield can be used for might stacking and you immidiately switch to your riffle. That’s my plan!

Yes you may need to dodge and all that, but you know what helps get your auto-attack chain to finish before anything like that can occur?

You have a two empty glasses. You begin filling them at the same time. At the end of 30 seconds one glass has 54oz, other has 51oz. which glass filled with more water per second? And how much was the difference in rate? Assuming the glasses held 54 ounces, which one would fill first? How much faster would the one who filled first have been filled?
Wow I think we can finally agree on something that in 30 secs one glass is fuller than the other. Pretending you can stand in once place for 30 seconds and land that many consecutive axe chains on a creature in game that isnt a golem. This turns out to be a pretty big difference in over a second or 2.
Let me switch it on you pretend that you have 2 glasses and you begin pouring water
at the same time in under 10 secs. Not only are both glasses have almost indistinguishably the same amount of water in them but the differences are as little as .1 to .2s.Which almost means nothing to anyone without a tight butt.
