I’m of the opinion that is is a bug, and an extremely annoying one at that.

Why would they add double click functionality for stacking items in the feature pack, only to remove it from non stacking items a few patches later?

It still works, but only with stacking items now, where a valid unfilled stack exists. If there existing bank stacks are full, it’s just as broken as single items – it refuses to occupy a new bank slot until you drag and drop it.

Edit: Nevermind. Supposedly, today’s patch has fixed it, despite not mentioning anything in release notes.

It depends on how long the map has been up on that IP. The longer it’s been up, the higher the likelyhood of her being broken.

Fortunately maps close with some regularity, and you often end up on different newer copies of the map.

It’s interesting to note that Toss B does work 100% of the time while in a party.

Even if no other party members are in the elixir radius, Toss B will properly grant you the boons, so long as you’re in the radius.

However without a party, Toss B does not work consistently still.

juggernaut trait doesn’t increase toughness

I know for a fact that Juggernaught would display the +200 toughness when having the flamethrower kit equipped in the Hero’s Panel in the past.

I used to main a FT/EG build some months ago.

There are a terrible amount of tooltip bugs out there, so I’d still like to see some hard testing to confirm it’s not merely a tooltip thing, but it seems unlikely that something would only just now break the hero display when it was working before.

Seeing as to the fact that they apparently can’t fix the problems, as they’ve been broken since launch, I couldn’t agree more.

Couldn’t you simply modify the map closure system to ensure that no map stays open for once a day?

This would be helpful in Orr too – Melandru bugs all too frequently. But it would likely be an unpopular suggestion with T6 farmers, as the nodes would reset every time the map emptied and opened again.

I have honestly no idea how they could possibly leave the Toxic events in the game, considering the length they went to in dumbing down the game, and making the NPE much more friendly and forgiving.

This isn’t a talent measuring contest – it’s entirely possible to solo the Toxic events – no one cares. The point is, they are at a drastic increase in difficulty as compared to the rest of the map and events in it.

I’ve seen countless new players fall victim to these events, and the unusual mechanics that aren’t even used in the rest of the game anymore (Downed state humanoids, for example).

I’ve had to explain to friends new to the game why these out of place events existed in the first place, and to perhaps avoid them til they get more familiar with how the game and their skills work.

Stand in a group of multiple players (or NPCS), 5+.

Toss Elixir B at your feet.

You get none of the boons most of the time. For some reason it doesn’t prioritize the person throwing it anymore, apparently broken by a recent patch. Boon priority is broken – not preferring the player as it used to.

I tested with full elixir traits, no party. Alchemy II, VIII, XI.

I’ll test to see if the untraited versions are equally as broken later and perhaps the effects of party.

Edit: Untraited elixirs (no traits at all) is similarly broken – engineer tossing it will recieve no boons most of the time.

WvW fading because of..

Add onto the fact that WvW season achievements are completable via EotM, onto the already good karma, xp and loot, and badge rewards, and you have basically no reason to play normal WvW.

Most of the people on my friends list flock to EotM, particularly when TC is doing well enough to be green.

Why? Because it’s more rewarding than actual WvW. Bring WvW rewards up to par with EotM, and I can guarantee you, you’ll see more people showing up.

I’m on TC in a tier 1 matchup currently. I don’t even remember the last time I saw a queue, outside of reset night, NA prime (TC’s most populous time of day) – WvW participation is undeniably low. Heck, I saw longer queues when TC was a tier 2 server.

EVERYONE should disable autotarget. You can play much better without it, most of the time because of cleaving between enemies you normally couldn’t.

You just have to turn your camera in an horizontal position. It’s really not that hard … :P

I can’t ^ this enough.

Auto target should be off in general anyway. Free aim Flame Jet without a target, and you’ll be able to hit a larger range of targets over the cast time and tag multiple mobs/players.

You’ll also get a feel for how the Flame Blast projectile moves and how and when to detonate it.

Not only that, you won’t get the annoying missmissmissmiss.

I double clicked on my stuff last night and it worked so it a bug for some people only.

Currently, only double clicking to deposit items that stack functions.

Double clicking to deposit unstackable items is non functioning, broken by a recent patch.

I haven’t tested since the patch that dropped 3 hours ago, but there’s nothing in the notes about this. I’ll assume that double clicking is still very broken. Please address this!

Edit: Just logged in to check – today’s patch did nothing. Double clicking is still not functioning properly.

It seems to depend on the “source” of their eliteness. If they are from scaling then elites and veterans do not seem to give any loot or even exp.

This.

Just like Champions, not all elites give loot.

This however is inconsistent in it’s form – sometimes upscale elites and champs do give loot (Jormag Phase 2 for example).

Knowing which ones do and don’t give loot is largely just something learned by play experience unfortunately.

It’s certainly nothing new.

If you hit anything on the flight path, it will deflect you. Sometimes it’s really really hard to see the object(s) you’ve struck.

I still vastly prefer this to other movement/teleport type skills that simply do not function over uneven terrain.

In case it’s not clear yet, the projectile has to be in the fire field when you detonate it.

This is why it’s much easier to do it as Xyonon’s diagram shows.

One waypoint was added, I believe around the time of Halloween 2012.

If you’ve already gotten map completion on that character, you won’t get it even with new things added.

The platform kills anyone on it a set amount of time after the Steam Ogre is defeated.

However you do mention that no one was able to revive you – so what Sariel V said is probably the case here. It’s a disconnect with the client and server, they don’t see your corpse as where you see it or vice versa.

Particle Effects in Stealth

I’m not sure it’s something that can be fixed easily – I think since particle effects are bound to their weapons and armor, there isn’t exactly an on-off switch for the effects. Since the invisibility seems to be based on the character silhouette, it takes the areas of particle effects into consideration.

I’m sure I didn’t use the proper terminology for this issue, but its my own speculation on the matter. IMO, ANet would only bother fixing particle effects if it was related to their beloved legendary weapons as to avoid legitimate effort in game design. It can be annoying yes, but hang in there! Wear your transparent power boxes with pride.

It should quite simply be a simple conditional flag for any effects.

If stealth = true, then rendering = disabled.

Shouldn’t be difficult. Time consuming? Maybe. You’d have to edit each relevant model and/or texture, as well as add the scripted programming functionality behind it.

Does it even matter if they despawn? they don’t actually attack anything. I have never once seen my flesh golem engage in combat, he is just a larger mini.

Try, since launch. This is from the second week after the game went live.

It was working sometime last year, but broke again since before season 2 WvW and April Feature Patch. Broken for months now again.

So no, it really doesn’t matter if they despawn, half the time they’re idle anyway.

New Bank UI bug with recent hotfix

One of the more recent patches since the initial 9/9 has partially broken the bank UI for me.

Before the recent patches, I was able to double click an item from inventory to move it to the first available free spot in my bank.

With the 9/9 feature pack, they added the new functionality of stackable items automatically being added to a stack. Great. Awesome.

One of the last two patches however, broke the original functionality for me – When I double click a NON stacking item, nothing happens anymore. I have to manually click and drag items to my bank now UNLESS it’s a stacking item.

Anyone else having this issue? I love things are automatically added to stacks now, but I can no longer double click to move single items, and it’s driving me insane.

How bout a little choice and options for players? Nah, engineers are just one profession…

Edit: It appears I spoke a little soon.

While the Mad Memories (and all backpieces) disappear physically, some things do remain – the book still illuminates the area around me.

Still, my napalm pack is no longer on fire.

Please remove traits from Orr temples. I really cannot comprehend, even months later why you would appease people who deprive others by adding traits to defense events.

It’s really pretty bad when you can, by simply playing the game and doing an event, conflict with and deprive others of rewards. People who have potentially been waiting in a map for hours to get their daily rewards.

It’s WORSE now, because there’s new content in the form of a new recipe that is only obtainable from temple chests.

It’s really quite silly to me that you’re moving trait unocks away from map completion, and yet still haven’t done anything about the Temple traits. I would rather complete maps all day long than even bother to sit in a map all day, scanning LFG, attempting to get my chance at a temple chest that rarely happens anymore.

At the very least, if you’re going to go as far as making temple defends reward traits, make defense reward the full ground chest and daily bonus. Or just undo this unnecessary change, and move the traits elsewhere.

Orr is emptier than ever before now, mostly filled with foxfire harvesters and people camping for temple defense traits. I miss being able to run temple metas.

Then again, I’ve only done trio once ever. And yes, they were killed in time, half a minute to spare – I got a champ bag, as well, so I know I got kill and event credit.

Arrows arc, and shooting to a lower elevation increases your range. Pretty sure this has been confirmed as intended behavior, not a bug.

I don’t know if it was ever confirmed as intended, but considering it’s been this way since launch, it may as well be.

It’s not just related to the trait – Untraited Ranger Longbow will hit further than 1200.

Staff ele can hit at about 1500 as well (except air), despite being marked as 1200.

Champions killed, no XP or champ bag

I’ve continued to test this on enemies like the Legendary Karka Queen and Champion Svanir Shaman, and so far it seems to be confirming that to get the experience and champion bag for the kill, you simply have to hit the enemy fast rather than doing a certain amount of damage. However, a test in Dry Top showed that the problem might be more prevalent than I thought.

My suspicion was that this problem would only come up in cases where there were one hundred plus players, making it rare and likely restricted to the aforementioned world bosses. In a recent Dry Top Haze event during the sandstorm, though, I was slow in getting to one of the level 84 Veteran Arid Devourer spawns, not hitting it for the first time until it was already at 75% health, and as a result even though I still wound up inflicting a good amount of damage on it I got no experience/loot from it. I don’t think Dry Top is even capable of holding one hundred players right now, so that seems to indicate that the cutoff for players getting loot is lower than I suspected. The first fifty to inflict damage? Forty?

It’s something that I hope gets looked at, because once word gets out that this is what determines whether people will get loot from kills or not, some places might wind up getting toxic. People not wanting to go clear out the Jungle Wurm pre-events for fear of missing out on Avatar of Woe champ bags, for example.

I’ve noticed some strange abnormalities with the veteran arid devourers too in that event. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve showed up late, dished out what I felt was plenty of damage, not not gotten loot or event credit.

I still very strongly feel that it’s infact a damage threshold, which party can contribute towards – a problem made worse by everyone else grouping up together in the megaserver zergs, making it more difficult for those groupless to get credit.

Many many times, I’ve showed up late to a champion which party members have done lots of damage to – and so long as I cast a few damage spells their way, I get full credit for the champion bag. Ulgoth is a good example of this – sometimes I’m late in getting to one of the two Junction Camp champions. Or, the triple warbeasts.

I’ve even showed up late to the occasional boss while in a party – say Maw or Mega, and joined in when the boss was really low HP to receive full credit, even on an apparently full map, some of which I was taxi’d into.

This would seem to go against the notion that there’s some sort of limit or cap to how many can get credit unless it’s because a party member was one of those initial to get credit.

Usually when an item on the Gemstore is in it’s last week of being available, it will say so in the promotions page where it’s featured.

It counts down from 7 (or 6?) days remaining. So you’ll have a week long heads up if you keep checking daily.

I’m just curious if you have tested this on even terrain versus uneven terrain. Mesmer has always had problems on uneven terrain. Interestingly this seems to be affecting rock dog too from another post in the forum. If there is a time they consistently work that would be great to know in trying to find out what the problem is.

I think you need to clarify your definition of ‘uneven terrain’ here.

There’s terrain so suddenly different in inclination or angle that it can interfere with the navmesh/waypointing for AI – this is something that’s to be expected and a design limitation of many games.

Then there’s GW2, where even with a clear path, slightly unflat or completely flat terrain, where minions do nothing at times.

Like I said before, yes there are some issues with jagged terrain and AI pathing. No, this does not account for why the AI just ceases to function sometimes. This would seem to suggest some programming error with their behavior.

Can't Create a character

Blackgate is one of the servers that is extremely full. I’m very surprised your friends didn’t tell you this. You can’t create characters on a full server. If you aren’t looking to play with them in wvw, you can create on a different server, and you guys can just guest onto either blackgate, or they can guest onto your server and play together.

You don’t even need to guest in most cases anymore.

Megaserver system prioritizes those in party and friends list when choosing a server shard to join.

All I can say is, I agree.

The sylvari have always been my favorite race, despite me having wound up maining almost exclusively Charr characters.

I obviously knew something was up with the summit, with the teaser for Part 2. But I had no idea what we were in for.

Going into the summit, and actually discussing with the world leaders nearly made me forget the encroaching danger. So when that moment came, and I heard that faint dragon roar, a chill went up my spine. I suddenly became very aware again, and more than just a little afraid.

Later, I was almost actually relieved that the Pale Tree avatar calls specifically you – perhaps she’s okay… and then the next part happens. Suddenly you realize you’re alone and isolated, being the only thing standing in the way of hunter and prey. I was actually physically shaking at this point.

After it was all said and done, I didn’t want leave the Omphalos Chamber. I simply couldn’t. Seeing the warden aids come to assist the Avatar made me realize that other people were in jeopardy, world leaders and countless others, and I had to see if they were alright as well.

Bravo to Arenanet: It’s rare that any form of entertainment provokes such strong reactions from me. Well done. All the feels…

Is harvesting DR a thing?

The extra stuff certainly could be.
Really hard to tell except through careful record keeping. The botters could probably do that sort of tracking very easily but I doubt any of them will be sharing the information here.

I feel like one character gets them more than the other but sample size is probably less than 100 tree per character.

I often feel like one character is luckier than others. But that’s RNG for ya – people want to see connections where there are none.

On the first day of Part 1, I had one character get 14 foxfire in less than a stack of wood – around 210 elder wood. She then went on a dry spell ever since.

Later on, my elementalist wound up getting to 22 foxfire over the course of about a few hours per several days, farming the same route and amount of times my other characters averaged about 10.

It’s just luck, or lack thereof, in my opinion.

RNG is RNG.

It seems regular now that every once in a while, map chat gets on the subject of how foxfire drops have apparently been stealth nerfed. I remember one discussion in Dry Top a day or two prior to Dragon’s Reach Part 2 in which people were convinced that the drop rate was lowered in preparation for the ascended backpiece costing a full 250 stack.

I doubt there’s been any change at any time in the past, just as I doubt there’s been any change with this update.

People get a lucky streak of RNG and get used to the drops, then during dry spells they come to the conclusion that it must have been nerfed.

I’ve seen no difference myself, though I have not gone out and gathered in force with my alts since yesterday’s patch – I got a small handful just harvesting trees on my way to things though, seems normal.

Melandru Statues Bugged!

I’ve seen both Grenth and Melandru temples clear with Melandru statues (regardless of location) still active for some time now.

Unless Arah is somehow being factored in (it shouldn’t as it’s not a temple) or somehow temple status from other maps is still being accounted for, it’s bugged. If the latter, it’s still bugged, because it’s not supposed to anymore.

I don’t play minion mastery, so I don’t know for sure, but I could swear up and down this bug applies to all minions, including the ranged bone fiend?

Jagged Horrors can definitely be added to the list though – much of the time when summoned they sit there and do nothing, but follow me, even when attacked, or I’m attacked.

This has been bugged for months.

And no, it’s not just a pathing issue. Much of the time, the minions AI will simply sit there and be attacked – even in melee range, and do absolutely nothing, even with a clear path to the target, no obstacles or uneven terrain.

I use the flesh golem a fair amount, even if I don’t have a MM build, and considering how reliant I am on Charge for direct damage on static objects, this’d be nice to address.

There was a post in the bug forum on this too, and I think an older one here about it.

I’ve submitted an ingame bug report as well.

I doubt we’ll see a fix – there are other Charr NPCs that have female body parts and male voices and vice versa all over, which have been this way since launch. So I doubt a mini is even on their radar.

Learn to use the ESC key…..not sure HOW you are doing decent combat without it.

Again, it personally takes much longer for me to hit the escape key to cancel something.

It’s much faster and more instinctive to me to either move or weapon swap (on my engineer).

I run a steady 20-25 FPS on my aged system at slightly below recommended (which is medium across the board, I just turn down player limit and details to low).

Intel C2Q @ 3.0ghz
8gb DDR3 @ 1033
BFG 9800 GT (underclocked)

If my system can handle two full sized zerg fights with little issue (easily 40v40), it’s likely not a video card issue that you’re having.

The only slowdowns I experience are while viewing heavy smoke and other transparency effects – the 9000 series of video cards is notorious for handling transparencies very poorly.
