2FA (authenticator or SMS) is required for newer accounts to send items or gold in the mail, and free accounts can’t send mail at all.
Does teleport to friend work?
No. With season 3, they made the maps a component of the episode. Attempting to join it when you don’t have it would be like a free player trying to get into HoT. You’ll simply be ported out.
If we are supposed to hit the Dolyak Skritt, can you remove the ability to kick them so that players MUST use snowballs instead (with appropriate changes for balance issues)?
The escort would always fail if they did that. Back when it was in Lion’s Arch, they had skritt snipers up on the rooftops that you had to snowball. There were also skritt snowball fighters playing around. They just need to bring back what they originally had.
Do you get additional gathers anywhere else? There was a bug in the early days where some accounts wouldn’t receive the bonuses from WvW. You’d need a gathering booster to test that. If not that, there probably is a maximum amount of bonus gathers.
Without boosters, the additional chance at gathering is a bonus from WvW, which will vary depending on how well your server is doing. Mouse over the WvW icon on the top left to check.
Nodes do have a kind of DR, but it causes all nodes in the surrounding area to vanish.
Play through season 3, episode 2.
Old stored minis can be found at the bottom of the bank’s material storage.
They were working on a native Mac client, which means they’ll need to rewrite the graphics engine. Since they’d need to do it anyways, it’d be the best time upgrade, but don’t expect to see anything until the 3rd expansion.
I dont see the point why Anet should implement a system that saves you a couple of % of game time in order to achieve something that can already be achieved by existing systems.
It’s too bad they don’t support addons, because every UI issue would have been fixed or improved years ago. In this case, the trading post is just a website, so you only need to redirect the initial page to use your own custom interface. It would be a much better experience if they simply allowed it; it’s already possible.
If 5-10% of your time on GW2 is spent selling to vendors, I suggest actually playing the game.
I was just playing an alt (regular leveling through maps for context), and on alts, I simply sell everything on the TP. Loot can vary greatly, so it’ll take maybe 1 to 3 hours to get a full inventory, at which point I stop for maybe 10 minutes to dump everything. That’s like 6-17% of my time.
Activities? Some of them force you to wait far longer than the inactivity timer.

If D: is a secondary drive, note that GW2 also requires free space on your system drive.
If the drive is formatted with FAT32 or less, it can’t support larger file sizes, so you’ll need to reformat using NTFS.
Try a different server. Get the IP using cmd.exe:
nslookup assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com 8.8.8.8
… then use it like so:
Gw2.exe -assetsrv 52.84.16.154
If it’s a green overlay, it’s caused by the jewel from Oontz’s necklace, so you’ll need to remove that.
If it’s a green glow, it’s from an infusion.
Largos would probably be the easiest race they could implement, but that’s also the problem with them. They’re essentially elves. Sylvari were originally designed as elves with plant accessories, but were redesigned because they wanted something more unique. Largos would basically end up being gray humans, and they probably wouldn’t have permanent wings because they’d avoid the issue by revealing that they’re actually a part of their suit.
I doubt ArenaNet will ever implement a new race however, because not only are they costly to implement, they’ll also forever increase development costs. If they were going to implement one however, they’d likely go with something more unique. Tengu for example, which were one of the original candidates.
The workaround to the sell limitation is to simply hide it by queueing the items to be sold. It’s definitely possible to implement bulk selling, considering I did it like 3 years ago.
With most threads only receiving 1 reply, it seems kind of pointless to have something like a dev tracker for individual threads.
If you want to pull all the dev posts though, here’s a small script. While viewing whichever thread you want to pull the posts from, simply open your browser’s console (generally F12), paste and run:
var c = document.getElementsByClassName("pagination")[0].childNodes;
var pages = parseInt(c.length > 3 ? c[c.length - 3].innerText : 0) || 0;
var h = document.getElementsByClassName("firstarrow")[0].href;
var url = h.substr(0, h.length - 5);
var b = document.getElementsByClassName("body")[0];
b.innerHTML = "<div id='_load' style='text-align: center; padding: 10px;'>Loading...</div>";
function getPage(page)
{
document.getElementById("_load").innerHTML = "Loading page " + page + " of " + pages;
$.get(url + "page/" + page,
function(data,status)
{
if (status == "success")
{
var i = 0, j = 0, r = "";
do {
i = data.indexOf("<div class='arenanet post'", i + 1);
if (i != -1) {
j = data.indexOf("<div class='post'", i);
if (j == -1) j = data.indexOf("\n\n</div>", i);
if (j != -1) r += data.substr(i, j - i); }
} while (i != -1);
b.innerHTML += r;
}
if (page < pages) getPage(page+1); else document.getElementById("_load").style.display = "none";
});
}
getPage(1);

I had just now set up the Google authenticator again to see if there really is a recovery code and there definitely isn’t one.
The “recovery” code is the key you’re initially given to setup your authenticator. It doesn’t unlink your authenticator, it allows you to recreate your actual authenticator. Authenticators are very simple, as the generated codes are basically a combination of that key + time, so you can reuse that key to make however many identical authenticators you want.
The screenshot looks like high settings to me. The wood on the side of the house is noticeably different on medium or lower, so it’s displaying high textures at least.
Unless the other computer was running an enhancer that you were accustomed to, such as sweetfx, gemfx or reshade, your monitor is the problem. Try experimenting with its settings, like disabling dynamic contrast and using the game preset.
Is it because I have my monitor on DVI rather than HDMI??
No, unless you’re using a TV, in which case HDMI may be interpreted as a TV format.
Changing monitors can be a big difference, as they’ll vary in color, brightness, sharpness and may have other filters applied to the image. When it comes to pixelation, the size of the screen matters a lot, since it’s like resizing an image. Too big and it’ll look stretched.
If you didn’t modify that screenshot and it was taken fullscreen, check your resolution, since it’s an odd 1904×1001.
With the UI on it looks like im playing the game in full medium, even though I have everything checked to highest possible settings.
With the UI on? The graphics noticeably change when you toggle the UI (ctrl+shift+h)? Clean install your graphics drivers.
Even at 6g, the total cost is roughly the same as last year. ArenaNet’s definitely not going to do anything, at least not this year and probably not the next either. These type of items are intended to be expensive, so without something new to use the sigils on, I wouldn’t count on ArenaNet brining them back at all. The price will simply rise to the cost of forging it (~18g).
The code you used to initially create your authenticator is your “recovery” code. That code can be used again whenever you want to create the same authenticator. Storing it in your email however is a vulnerability.
The original idea was a living world with a story that played out live, hence why the story is dated in the journal. Playing through old episodes is considered to be reliving past memories, as your character is assumed to have already done it. There definitely isn’t going to be any major updates to old content.
There definitely isn’t going to be any future achievements you’ll get locked out from. The only actual risk is not turning it in at all, because there’s no guarantee that the current events will last forever, though they probably will.
If the stone is used again, it will certainly be available from a vendor.
The sigils may be higher, but the drinks are less than half the price. The total cost is still the same as last year (~800-1000g). ArenaNet’s definitely not going to do anything until it’s actually a problem.
You can remove it the same way you added it; under account management. The default is email authentication however and the alternative is SMS, both of which are going to take more effort to use. Use an authenticator that you can simply copy/paste from.
You’re only required to authenticate when your IP changes. If you’ve selected to remember them, it should eventually stop.
Gem store? If it’s anything like last year, there’ll likely be something new on Tuesday and a sale on the 1st, which only lasted 3 days last year, with a different sale each day.
HoT? Next sale is likely ~3.5 months away with episode 5. At other (official) retailers however, it can be found for 50% off for the next 2 days, or ~35% off permanently.
But I cant seem to get my town cloth tonic on my new char?
The trader only lets you recover what your character had. Characters created after the wardrobe don’t have town clothes.
Safe? No. G2A is a reseller, so people will buy keys from ArenaNet, sell them to G2A then force a refund on the original purchase. If you use one of those keys, your account will be permanently banned with almost no hope of recovering it. Only risk it if you’re planning on using it for a new account.
For ~$5 more, buy it officially from dlgamer.us.
From ArenaNet? Highly unlikely. The sales so far have been before the release of every other living world episode, so the next one is likely 3 months away.
From official 3rd parties? It’s always on sale at dlgamer.us, which is currently 35% off.
Simply use software to change the functionality of the spacebar, such as AutoHotKey. If you have macro enabled hardware, simply set a macro key to press spacebar.
Legendary armor is locked behind raids because that’s what raiding is known for. The only difference is that ArenaNet couldn’t offer vertical progression. Behind the scenes, it’s all about participation. If something doesn’t make the cut, they’ll simply abandon it. For now, legendary armor is the incentive to raiding, which is needed to bring in participation to justify further development. I wouldn’t count on seeing it anywhere else until the 3rd or 4th expansion, except maybe SPvP where it may be the esport tournament reward.
To rule out the obvious, I’m assuming you’ve set the monitor to use the expected input, whether you also use HDMI for the GPU or DVI or whatever else, and that it’s not loosely connected.
You don’t need drivers for basic video, so if it wasn’t displaying anything (test all outputs), like the boot process, you likely didn’t slot it back in properly. Pull it out, then push it back in, ensuring it’s straight and the clip on the slot snaps in place (if applicable) and that any power cables are connected. If you only took the GPU out, I doubt you changed which slot it was in, but ensure it’s in the proper one.
As a simple check, the fan should be on. In Windows, you should be able to locate it under WinKey+PauseBreak > Device Manager, likely under display, though it could be listed as an unknown device. Click the scan for hardware changes button if it’s not listed. You can try booting into safe mode (start menu > shift click power > restart > troubleshoot > advanced >startup settings > restart, or msconfig > boot > select safe boot) to test basic video drivers and to uninstall/reinstall the AMD drivers.
If it’s not detecting it at all, you may have damaged the GPU, or even worse, the slot. Check the contacts on the GPU to ensure they’re not dirty or any obvious signs of damage, and carefully check the slot for dust. If you happen to have another slot that fits, another GPU or another PC, you can try testing the components to see which one is the problem.
You also need one sigil to finish the small orphan questline to obtain the star of gratitude. So new players, who havent done this in the years before, will find out on the 3rd day of the questline that they will need 20 MC to upgrade a sigil to give to sous chef seymur. Having to grind a month of login rewards to obtain these coins cant be intended design.
When it comes to making it yourself, that hasn’t changed. You’re not actually meant to do that however, as the recipe was only an alternative, designed as a sink at the time which I’m sure will never be adjusted. When the supply of sigils starts to dry, you can bet they will be brought back in. Even if it was 25g for that 1 sigil though, or a month of simply logging in, eaters are a luxury item and you have all year to prepare. Every casual I know has a stack of coins in their bank for example, left forgotten.
As for the 5 days, yes, I mixed up the two as I heard it somewhere else. If ArenaNet wanted another method though, this would have been a clear choice.
Why is something that you can only get via the market (or through upgrade shenanigans) a part of this, and in such great amounts?
The game was designed around using the trading post. Personal loot means everyone gets a little bit of everything, so you’re not intended to farm everything yourself. The sigil for example, everyone can get one every 5 days by doing the dailies, but how many people actually need them? The same goes for mystic coins – most people don’t use them, and that’s why ArenaNet didn’t want to intervene, because the only problem is that people aren’t selling.
Upgrading is done to give value to lesser materials.
This type of item, cosmetic effects, are intended to be expensive, like 1000g+, which is nothing to veteran players. Unless I missed something, going by the wiki, the skin currently costs ~780g, which is cheaper than last year’s 800~1000g. 10k drinks is less than half the cost of last year.
I really don’t understand why this one got special treatment like this.
When it was first released, checkpoints weren’t a requirement, so you could portal directly to the end. It was meant to be a long challenge however, so they simply made them required. It was designed by Josh Foreman, who likes to create challenges with the expectation that most will fail, most notably the clock tower and SAB TM. For this one, he pointed out its name ahead of time, as the puzzle is intended to make you cry.
Trading post? No. You can only partially recover the cost by reselling it.
Gem store? Contact support for a refund.
A set of gem shop armor, all three weights, takes 10x longer to create than an outfit, about 9 dev months according to Micheal O’Brien, it’s in one of the reddit AMAs this year.
10x the effort, which doesn’t necessarily mean 10x longer. It takes a lot more effort because they’re restricted to the various weight patterns, unlike outfits. If it takes them 9 months though, then it likely takes around 3 months for an outfit. If that’s not the case, they must deal with a lot a problems considering that from a modeling perspective, it might take a day to slice an outfit, maybe a week for finer details.
That’s the point, you should not be forced to take all checkpoints since we have mesmers.
They made checkpoints a requirement because of mesmers. They don’t want you skipping the entire thing. They only allow it to keep a casual path open. JPs could have easily been adventures, and far more rewarding because of it.
4. Adjusting EVERY piece of armor in the entire game(and those yet to come) to fit the new race (This would take months on its own)
I think they like to greatly exaggerate how long it takes to make armor just as an excuse. In this case for example, he must have meant a race with an entirely different body in some odd shape, like Quaggan or something. Because it takes maybe a few hours to fit an existing armor as long as it loosely fits. Alternatively, they’re using old proprietary tools or are just really slow.
If they’re going to seriously fix it, they’ll fix the core problem and link the nodes in all instances together. That would mean no more swapping instances to farm anything over and over again, like trees/etc.

I don’t want devs to think out new creative ways to get around map, when i was perfectly fine with old ones.
Waypoints are great for casual play, but they’re actually really bad for an MMO because they take people out of the area. Seeing people running through a zone for example vs everyone waypointing to a world boss and immediately leaving. By moving through the world, you’re going to see a lot more going on and be far more likely to participate.
Now that GW2’s world is expanding into uncharted territory, they have an excuse to cut down on future waypoints. If ArenaNet wasn’t so against traditional MMO features, I’d expect to see mounts next expansion in the same way HoT add gliders. Waypoints should only exist in secured camps, and if needed, revival points like in GW1 should be added.
Might not even get new weapons. With the way elites are setup, they could easily keep doing the same ones over and over. More weapons would also mean increasing the work for all future sets, though they could just forget them like underwater weapons.
You wanted to contact wiki/Teddy_Nguyen? Twitter was listed on there, use that.
ones that would change the color and textures of the HUD and other such things, or are those none-existent?
That was done by manipulating the textures, which can also be done in GW2 in the same way. It’s technically against the rules, but they allowed it in GW1.
Considering the previous sales were the week before episode 1 and 3, the next one likely won’t be until episode 5, ~3 months away. Alternatively, it’s always on sale for varying amounts at dlgamer.us, where it’s currently 35%. If you want to go hunting, it can also be found for $10-20 at stores wanting to clear out the physical boxes.
The longer you wait though, you might as well wait for the next expansion which will include HoT for free, which is probably only a year away.
Files are still saved in drive C and occupy space in there. It becomes a problem when you have a document folder that is specific for your office work and suddenly game stuff appears in it!
When using the mklink command, a new virtual folder is created for the first path (C:) and linked to the second (D:). Although it looks like files are stored in the first path (C:), they’re actually not; that folder is only a view of the second path (D:).
If you don’t want others to see the Documents/Guild Wars 2 folder, simply hide it.
If you don’t want it to appear under your user account at all, you could hide it under a different user. Like this:
net user tmpusr pass /add
runas /user:tmpusr Gw2.exe
If you’re porting GW2 around, you can make simple bat files to automate the commands and clean up after yourself.
You can’t uninstall the game because what you’re trying to uninstall isn’t actually installed. You have to run (32-bit) Gw2.exe -32 -uninstall
Episodes are roughly every 2 months, so the next one will likely be on January 24th. Lunar New Year will likely occur at that time however, which will likely push it back by 2 weeks. They tend to take a 1 or 2 week break after events however, so expect February 14th or the 21st.
