The announcement this morning said that episodes representing season one of the Living Story will be made available in time.
What will the most likely availability of these episodes be?
Purchase Required/Free to LS Episode 1 Vets/Completely F2P ???(I do not expect a answer to be immediately available, except possibly from the mouth of a ANet employee. I respect that any answer i receive this early is not guaranteed to be the final plan. )
Fractals.
FTW
But seriously, i doubt it will all be that simple. Or maybe it will be. We will all see.

I’m looking for a ranged build for general purpose PvE and WvW for necro. The two obvious choices for main weps are Axe and Scepter. I would like someone with a better understanding of these weps to explain the pros and cons of power vs condition ranged necro dps. Please assume that my equipment has at least one defensive (toughness/vit) stat. Build recommendations are welcome.
Ever since the patch earlier, vary occasionally when using a vista i get locked in place and the cinematic that is supposed to show does not progress. This effectively prevents me from playing until i restart my computer.
Attached picture might give you a good idea. I attempt to use vista, the UI fades and the game becomes unresponsive, but it in no way freezes up, and the game world, including other players, continues to progress around my character.
If a fix or even acknowledgement of this issue would be posted, i would appropriate it.
I’ve been on both sides of it. It is powerful, or useless. Give or take.
My idea for rework
Diamond Skin: Conditions suffered have one fourth duration(Requires HP>90%)
Same problem. Not going to play while this problem persists.
Anyone know any Mesmer builds that go well with Carrion (CondDPS/Pow/Vit) Equipment?
Yup! Need Gift of Candy Corn, Obelisk Shard, Hot air Balloon souvioneer and Gas Mask skin.
You missed Flames of Kryta.
I hope they allow a means to get the old skins again. I missed gas mask
What Zaxares said. Kormir ascended to godhood during the 3rd campaign, Nightfall, and the isolationist policy was a indirect result of events that happened during the 6th/7th campaign. (depending on how you order them chronologically.)
Methinks laberynthian cliffs should become a festival hub, with upper portions only available during four-winds events (due to aspects).
Over the history of my GW2 experience, i’ve probably used close to / over 60 BLC Keys, having never spent any gems on any of them. That being said, the only truly significant things i’ve gotten from these keys is a single absolute makeover kit, and three scraps.
That tag makes you a symbol to rally the zerg around and an obvious target at the same time. I can imagine many reasons why one would not use it.
Methinks the remains of the Breechmaker should get repurposed into an airship tower… Which gives lead to personal and guild airships!
Some of these are actually pretty good ideas, but i prefer mimic the way it is right now.
They’ve already announced that transmutation charges will be rewarded from pvp. I like dat.
Great post. Hope they improve the basic flaws next time around.
If you ask me for the three high points of the Living Story, my answer will always be SAB season one, Molten Facility and Aetherblade retreat. What made these so good? They were actually challenging and mainly discouraged the use of bezerker faceroll builds. I personally want actual mechanics, rather then zergfests. Dodging and defense, rather then bland uninspired AoE. The Super Adventure Box aside, every high point of the Living Story has since been incorporated into the Fractals of the Mists in some way, shape or form. This is a humble request for the Devs to design future content with a fractal eventuality in mind.
(The above is my opinion, i respect those that disagree with it, and i am not considering recurring festivals as a part of the ‘living story’ for the purpose of this post. )
Discuss.
There should be more outcry on why this boss trio is anti-conditions, especially since one of the four bosses the trio’s defeat unlocks are vulnerable to conditions almost exclusively. The result: Any group that actually stands a chance of getting six minutes will hit a brick wall.
Support.
Magical energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be consumed by teh dragons. My theory is that Teq absorbed a vary large amount of the late Zhitan’s energies.
I agree with the OP’s sentiment in moderation. Personally, methinks that if ANet was not entitled to blunders and screw-ups, they would have never went into the MMO industry.
I’d be okay with an, ‘End of Season,’ Meta Achievement, but perhaps make it a little… simpler. 5/5 Living Story Meta Achievements required? 3/3? Something that’s low enough so that people who didn’t participate in all of them still get it.
I agree with this guy. Unfortunately, circumstances that i could not timely resolve has bitten around 10 months of GW2 off my schedule since the game’s launch. Reward ppl that are loyal.
Zinn’s Lab as a dungeon
Lion’s Arch. Allience supplies are still your best bet.
At one point a commander scolded the zerg for not bringing zerker warriors, no joke.
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1

Story 9/10
Temporary content: gameplay 8/10
Temporary content: rewards 4/10
Permanent content (fractals aside) 3/10
Fractals of the mists 6/10
Progression updates (crafting, WvW level, etc.) 7/10
SAB 9/10
Overall 6.5/10 (D+)
Well done, ANet, you almost got a passing score!
(edited by Iarkrad.8415)
We need this trend of unjustly rewarding warriors and zerkers to end…
^ Hear hear!
Remember folks, you don’t need a linked account to access the eye of the north, why not put a bunch of other account reward redeemers there? Or, mists, we could even make this Scornheart’s official function!
:( I missed season two of SAB, can’t wait for third… Best events in GW2. I want a Gift of Adventure for my home instince….
Topic Title: Customized Weapons
Proposal Overview
Adding to the fractal rewards, a collection of blank items, that would be highly customizable. Unlocks that make these weapons more desirable would be available through fractal progression, fractal rewards, and BLTC.
Goal of Proposal
To create an additional aspect of customization for a character’s appearance, as well as add an additional endgame progression, through fractal progress that would assuredly be required to add customization options to the weapon.
Proposal Functionality
A blank item would be available from the Fractal Rewards merchant for a minimal fractal relics cost. This item could be used as a weapon of any sort, but it would be capable of being customized with several categories. This weapon would have a custom shape(type of weapon), base skin, dyejob, ‘aura’, and possibly more. This blank would absorb other weapons, slimier to transmutation, and the absorbed item would fill one of the blank’s ‘slots’, which would allow the weapon’s properties to be used in customizing the weapon. Additional, unique effects, would be available from BLTC or fractal reward shop. Progress in fractals (such as reward level up) would allow additional slots or additional customized weapons per characters. Progress on the weapon would allow eventually for more then one stat combination allowed. The unlocked combinations would be interchangeable at will (outside combat). Additionally, more then one sigil or infusion would be able to be added to a pool, which could be used to ‘fine tune’ a weapon outside of combat. Legendary items could be absorbed into blank weapons, allowing their highly unique attributes (appearance and statistic choice freedom) to be used in customization, but legendary items could be separated at will. Non legendary weapons, and weapon skins, would require a transmutation splitter to be separated.
Example: A blank staff is bought by a PC. This PC synthesis three items into this blank: A Wupwup-make staff, a exotic peacemaker rabid staff, and Kasmeer’s Staff skin. The customization pool, before specific unlocks, will resemble thus. Base statistics: Celestial – ascended, Rabid – exotic. Base appearance: Ascended (celestial), peacemaker, Kasmeer’s. Aura: Rainbow (from wupwup), asuran pink (from peacemaker), mesmeric feathers (from Kasmeer’s). This PC Chooses Celestial Ascended statistics, Peacemaker base appearance, and Kasmeer’s staff’s mesmeric feathers aura. This blank would be function-able at this point.
Associated Risks
Limiting a single aspect of customization to fractals might cause friction among those that do not prefer fractals.
If you have read this far, you have my gratitude for doing so, and apologies for my somewhat confused presentation and less then desirable grammar and spelling.

I sense a fractal – in – the – making!
The 1200 bag aside, any personal reward of peanut bags obtained from zergs will usually far eclipse the end reward.
One of the reasons why these items are valued thusly is beacuse they were never ment to be permanently available. They keep cycling new merchendise in, old merchendise out, and overall they sell more.
Refine them, buy a collection upgrade if needed, and wait. ANet will think of something.
Methinks there should be a silent account upgrade for buying a permanent pass, that prevents your characters from being kicked out on log-in.
Gona call it now.

Another nudge to the fact that this game has no designated tank role requirement.
sprockets are fairly useless
I keep seeing this myopic argument crop up. Useless like the 4m+ silk scraps that were at or around vendor price until recently? Arguing that this is harmless because you don’t value sprockets assumes that demand (and thus value) isn’t dynamic, reactive and volatile (and entirely at the mercy of the anet economist, as was silk).
This also applies to those arguing that it is fine because “I now have a sprocket node in my personal instance”. If you can’t see the difference between a limited, time gated personal node, and a mining tool which generates sprockets whenever a resource node is mined on an unlimited basis, you really need to try and understand the concept of supply and why this is grossly inappropriate.
I might not be the first person to point this out, but a mechanism is used to craft the gift of blades. So. . .
I think another dynamic in this is the requirement for a fair amount of funds for the gift of blades recipie, the thoughtless potion, and a craft station recipie. For a typical player, the best way to obtain these funds quickly and painlessly is to sell some of our stocks of cloth

I have come back during the origins of madness from a 6 month absense from GW2. I would have bought the permanent royal terrence pass with no hesitation. I bought the pass to the airship. I believe though, that it is no replacement for Lion’s Arch. It still lacks many services, such as Scornheart, dungeon venders, and a community hub. There will always be a superior hub, the airship is just a quick in/out pit stop, which offers nothing whatsoever that can’t otherwise be found within 30 seconds from any area in the map (EotM → vigil fort (→ rata summ → crafting))
Remove loot from mobs and champs and give reword on the end of event depending on how many civilians we saved!
+1

Although, to be fair, i am vary, vary, vary, vary, vary glad to see Lion’s Arch finally and completly obliterated. I would prefer it to stay that way… hint, hint, nudge, nudge.
I’d love to see 1000 blade shards = a selfless potion! but ya know, that would be too easy
A blade shard -> Obsidian shard though, phew, that would be ideal for me!
selfless poitions are already hard to get, this would make them too much easier to get. leave it as-is. blade shards (but in stacks of 20-50) to obsidion shards is something i find agreeable, tho

the one you purchase for 1000 gems, has a limit?
The one you buy for 1000 gems can be used an infinite number of times. However, it is an item, and follows limitations. It can only be used by whatever character possesses it, which means unless you keep it in your vault except when used to port a character up, it will only be accessable to one character at a time. It can be destroyed (though it’s item name needs to be typed for confirmation, assumidly), at which point it is lost permanently. I genrally reccomend using it on one main character, and parking other characters at points where they are likely needed.
I imagine the asura gate function will be added soon enough. I’m definetly getting a pass for this one.
The rewards are not, and never were, worth the gem cost of a key. That is the simple nature of RNG. However, the return of keys found via PvE has gotten noticeably better over the course of GW2 history.
Example: I had obtained and used over 50 keys purely from mapping and story of new chars, all prior to the wonderful workshop of toymaker tixx (dec 2012), and yet all of my best drops (best being relative, keep in mind) have been in the past half-year.
They should just add achievement exclusive skins (fused gauntlets, fervid censor, sceralite shell, horns of the dragon, SAB backpack covers, tequatl wings, the list goes on) to achievement reward withdraw pool and be done with it.
The permanent royal pass should be an account upgrade option (for a higher gem price), after which permanent passes can be generated freely.
However, i am still waiting for the permanent pass to go on sale again.
