I got the Some objects render at wrong depth problem. Anyone know a fix? on a related note, anyone know how to disable stereoscopic 3D?
Yup, yup, you are returned to your own race’s home instance. Sylvari peeps have a repair npc right next to entry point, charr ppl have a guy they can buy scavenging tools and salvage kits from a lil in. Few others have Belcher’s bluff kits, but generally everyone who isn’t Sylvari or Charr get the least out of this by a lot.
With the portal stone, the home instance becomes slightly more significant. What i want is a update so that all home instances offer the same services, preventing any one from becoming inherently superior to another.
The offered services in home instances are as of this post’s writing:
Charr – Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, General Goods Merchant
Norn – Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Tavern, Minor Foods Merchant
Human – Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Tavern, Minor Foods Merchant
Sylvari – Repair
Asura – none
To maintain fairness between races, i request that the following services are added to every Home Instance they are not already present in
General Goods Merchant
Tavern (Belcher’s Bluff Kit Access)
Repair
And (optionally) the following
Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Minor Foods Merchent
We need to shift out of the dog / circus zone and into the cat of prey (lion, puma, jaguar) zone. Then the Charr race shall be complete.
(Also, plz give us darker green hair dyes so i can complete my charr necro’s look)
Logan is plenty cool. This weird ‘’He ran away’’ comments confuses me since he ran away from one battle to another to save the Queen. He didn’t run away because he was scared.
Logan is pretty much the more interesting character of Destiny’s Edge, him and Rytlock, the rest are meh.
Logan ran away from the wrong fight at the wrong time and the single incident became a reputation and that reputation stuck.
Now, only humans and Caithe take him seriously.
DHUUUUUUUUUM!!!!!!!
(just like to point out: two gods of death. one known dragon. let the theories commence)
Drooburt isn’t a story character. He is a lovable gag that the devs slipped into gates of maguuma. And his death is still more impact then the hollow Belinda.
From what i can tell, its ’don’t ask don’t tell’ as far as same sex couples go in Tyria. They are probably less common among some races then others, but overall they keep their details to themselves. On-screen, only lesbian couples are shown to not unnecessarily provoke the homophobic parts of the audience.
The writers were overeager to kill off Belinda. Simple as that. I felt nothing when she perished, except vague boredom.
For all we know, the deceased quaggan took the gold to his grave.
Perhaps the PC could be known by his racial nickname – Savant, Valiant, ???, Slayer or Centurion.
Or Warmaster/Lightbringer/Magister
I play a Charr. Considering Boss is a common contextual nickname among Charr culture, it doesn’t bother me that much.

Turning the torch into a cold based wep? +1 for that. We need a better control oriented weapon.
Lets do a comparison test.
Lets say that a another trait like this was sub’d in,
!@#$%^&
When knocked less then 25% health, chill all nearby targets (3s)
300 radius
90s recharge.
Methinks this underwhelming hypothetical trait would be better then siphoned power.
Hey guys.
I’ve long admired Necromancers as one of the most interesting sorts of spellcasters, but was extremely disappointed in how their mechanics were implemented in GW2 (no actual manipulation of the dead. =/), so I’ve never played one.
Still, I think it’d be really one to write for one in one of my stories, and so here I am with a few questions (mostly geared towards MM and Condition Necros) in hopes that the Necro community could help me out. I’ve previously written short stories for Guardian vs Mesmer and Elementalist vs Mesmer and now I’m setting sights on a Necro versus Ranger engagement.
- How would you rate Necro Minions in order of most valuable to least valuable and why?
- What is each minion’s role? Are Bone Minions relevant?
- What is a MM Necro’s general fighting style (I doubt it’s simply: “summon minions, roll face.”). What weapons do they use and what are their defenses?
- How vulnerable is a MM Necro with no minions?
- What conditions to Necromancer have most easiest access to?
- What is the general mindset versus a Ranger?
- Assuming equal skill, and meta builds, who is more likely to win between a Necro & Ranger?
Thanks for the help guys!
1) Difficult question. Minion masters as a whole have their quirks, and the worthiness of minions depends largely on if or if not you are a MM.
2) Bone minions are kamikaze. They can deal damage, and provide two heads for the purposes of traits like vamperic master. Bone fiend is ranged with cc capabilities. Shadow fiend is a generic minion with cc on command. Flesh wurm creates a strong, but immobile ally, but is generally used for teleportation recall. Flesh Golem can tank, and cc.
3) MMs generally use staff, Mark of Blood, Chibilians and Reaper’s mark can be used defensively to help keep your minions alive, and Putrid mark is capable of dealing respectable damage. Summon minions, let them zerg the enemy, keep them alive using your staff.
4) Vary vulnerable. You still possess your staff/DS cc, but no real stopping power.
5) Fear, immobilize and torment through DS. Bleed and poison are easy access, others are mainly situational.
6) Run away. A MM can’t really do much against a good ranger. A dagger necro can do pretty well if he ckittene his cc to keep himself close. A condition ranger is a good blend of sustained damage and defense that works well against a ranger 1 on 1.
7) Ranger beats MM, Ranger with lots of cc beats Dagger necro. Dagger necro beats ranger without cc. Ranger and condi are evenly matched, and more or less a skill competition. 1 on 1 of course.
I’m going to play off the theory that the Giant Marionette was a consulted cry for help, Caera’s control of Scarlet’s identity was failing, but before that point she set plans against her ‘master’. Or something. These are just baseless theories that might be confirmed in the weeks to come. Take them with a grain of salt, but don’t discount them completely.
Its entirely possible that Scarlet was directly puppeteered by Mordrem into awakening Mordremoth. However, it is also equally plausible that the aspect of Caera placed tech specifically designed to destroy Mordremoth.
Given the peculiar nature of her corruption, it is entirely possible for her to be a antagonist, wispers-esque hero and dragon champion at once.
Apart from everything being excessively cliché’d in terms of plot, LS Season 2 isn’t that bad. I find the jokes enjoyable as long as they are within context.
Gating content behind a multi-step process doesn’t work too well, especially with RNG on the last step. There isn’t any skill or accomplishment in acquiring those. It’s all based on luck, which is fine in itself, but when luck is needed for your major content (the weapons) in an episode like this, it just leaves a bad impression on the player.
Thus… the 2600/2000. It provides a vary real alternative to RNG in this scenario without trivializing the existing RNG.
Perhaps allow conversions the other way to turn unneeded fossils into 100…500 Geodes.
We will do something whit ghost but i think we wont free em ascalon is too much fokud on ghost events, but we will see it in part 2 because in frst part we are going sylvari then norn and at end we will start charr so we will have big clifhanger
Can somebody translate this, please?
Mordremoth’s location is theoretical, while the Pact knows the exact (most likely) locations of two Elder Dragons. Since Zhaitan’s demise [two years before Entanglement] the Pact has probably been preparing for a full invasion into the Grand Central Transfer Chamber or Glint’s Lair. Unless something truly pressing forces them to abandon these preparations and shift attention to Mordremoth, the Pact will remain a heard but not seen power in western Tyria.
(Main Charr Necro) Zero interest. Can we go break Omadd’s machine now?
Edit: If the story writing peeps wanted us to feel sad about her, then maybe they shouldn’t have killed her off after only two minor appearances.
The Pale Tree, despite her humbleness, is still the leader of a major race of tyria, the local equivilent of the Arcane Council, Queen Jennah, Knut Whitebear or Smolder the Unflinching. The PC, despite his psudo-celeberaty status for his role in the demise of Zhaitan and Scarlet Briar, is still a civilian, and not on active duty with any of the four orders.
While i’m not saying it would be impossible or even probably difficult to secure a meeting with the Pale Tree, it would not be easy or without complications.
Personally, i’m rather dissapointed with the overall low quantity of mats from the wood nodes. I was expecting something a bit more like the Sprocket Generator or Quartz node. Methinks doubling the harvested resources from these special nodes would fix the disappointment, or offering t4 and t5 nodes (since they are pretty much worthless anyways compared to t2-t3)
Charr – Well placed, but looks goofy from a RP perspective
Asura – Same as Charr
Norn – Excellent placement
Human – One on top of obelisk shard
Sylvari – Unaccessable
All fine theories but you guys have it all wrong. Our character’s face will be in the locket and as the cutscene plays with us being crowned, Kormir and Trahearne walk up in wedding garb (can be purchased in the gem store for 800 gems each) and they take the throne from us and are married on the spot whilst our characters look on weeping.
It’s all super emotional.
Wow.. that is like… My mind is exploded, fried, and lethally irradiated at the same time.
Game Over
2600/2000 is a point where it is obviously inefficent unless you are hopelessly unlucky, but still allows these weapons to maintain their prestige while being more accessible.
Overall, the quantity of harvested resources from these packs seem vary lacking.
Here is a pic of the Grove set.
Maybe Rytlock is trying to cause another Foefire? Turn Ebonhawke into a nice southern bulwark against Krakattorik!
Maybe they should just stick little pixilated happy clouds with rainbow paths leading past the jumpy parts?
I can almost imagine what they will be saying of next update.
“Can yoOou spare anything for a quaggan down on quaggan’s luck? Please. quaggan is only guilty of poor decision-making.”
Eh? Elli’s dead? But Zott died on that mission, not her….and doesn’t she later make the holo-tech used for Dragon Bash (which then gets stolen by the Aethertrash)?
I stand corrected
A option for those with no RNG luck.
My suggestion, offer the Fossilized insect from the geode vender as a t4/t5 reward for 2600/2000 geodes. (This puts it in the 140-160 worth of lockpicks in value.)
This option is clearly not for everyone, but it would offer those without any luck an option for obtaining the fossil without relying on RNG.
Carving your way across Mordrem territory with Shodd as your group’s brains? What could possibly go wrong?
Larra: Never heard of her
Vorpp: Not a bad idea, but not really fleshed out as a character yet
Elli: Deceased
Personally i wouldn’t mind Levvi joining the crew
Its been well implied that only Soundless Sylvari are exceptionally vulnerable to Mordrem corruption.
Here is my contribution.
One thing i would like to pitch in is that King Doric’s bloodline (Royal Krytan) is well known for it’s kittens. Queen Salma herself was an illegitimate heir.
Perhaps Omadd’s machine is the first part of the GW2 varient of Ascencion / Weh no su.
Trahearne
plz plz plz let it be Trahearne
Same bug. plz fix.
To me, Drooburt’s demise and the chickenado is enough to justify any amount of horrible content in this update. Well, maybe a moderate amount of horrible content, i won’t know until they fix the Discovering Scarlet’s Breakthrough bug
The PC is the ‘Boss’
Tamini is the Brains
Kasmeer is the good cop
Marjory is the bad cop
Braham is the muscle
Rox is the confused kid
Canach is the dark rival
There you go. Destiny’s Orphans.
This is priceless. Thank you ANet.
The ‘destroyed massive cube’ in the Uncatagorized Fractal is actually 1/3 Rata Summ.
I use elementalist for dungeons. I have yet to find any satisfactory dungeon builds for necro.

I enjoy playing a coni necro in PvE. If this happens to inconvenience you, i recommend you charr up and complain less. Conditions are broken, but they’re also enjoyable to play. And i play this game for personal enjoyment.
It has been stated that the Living Story chapters from this point onwards will be lv80. There will probably be non-80 content, but the permanent chapter of the living story you unlock by logging in during the 2 week release period will be lv80.
Methinks Laidri would make an interesting ally. Perhaps as a mercenary/representative sent by Queen Jennah to aid in the anti-Mordremoth campaign.
Laidri is a test of your ability to manage energy. If you have basic sentience, cleanses for weakness, and preferably vigor, you should have zero point zero zero one difficulty with her.
I used a condition necro (Rabid, 6/6/2/0/0) to faceroll everything. Laidri took a grand total of 5 tries. Seriously, i still do not understand what is so difficult about her, the constant weakness, annoying rifts aside. Laidri was enjoyable, but a letdown after almost a year of hearing of her formidable reputation
