I’m pretty sure, that this is the intended behaviour. The pres happen more often than the final event. Have a look at the world boss schedule to get the spawn times. The same happens at the Frozen Maw meta, by the way.
Have a look at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Collaborative-Development-Commander-System/page/14#post3343318. This question has been discussed at length in this thread.
Have a look at this thread.
If you do not equip intermediate infusions, you need 2^(n-1) 1-infusions to make an n-infusion. This means that you need 536,870,912 1-infusions to make a 30-infusion, as Mystic said.
If you equip every intermediate infusion and overwrite them with the next one, you need (2^n – 1) 1-infusions to make an n-infusion. Here is an example: You equip a 1-infusion, overwrite it with a 2-infusion, overwrite this one with a 3-infusion and so forth, all the way to a 30-infusion. This requires 1.073.741.823 1-infusions.
I also stopped using Google, ever since they came out with that stupid Google Nose. I still cannot forget that wet dog smell… Seriously, if you do not like the bobble heads, close the game and come back tomorrow. Dishing out empty threats is not going to help.

Thinking about it again, I would prefer a system where you unlock stat combos one after the other instead of all in one. This can still use ascended insignias, but you get more functionality in a shorter timeframe. You also have the option to stop at any point and just unlock, say, Berserker, Knights and Soldiers.
(edited by Ignavia.7420)
Yep, I’m all for unlocking stat swapping on ascended items in one way or the other.
I made a similar suggestion some time ago: [Suggestion] Extensible Ascended Gear/Precursor Crafting
Instead of using ascended items right away, I suggest that you first need to unlock stat combos on an ascended item. Once you have them all, you can use them as precursors.
Bug or not, nearly all ascended backpieces are infusable and those two are among the most expensive ones. Because of this, there should be the option to infuse them.
I had this problem, too. After I installed the latest drivers (335.23) I never encountered it again.
In my opinion getting best in slot gear should not be challenging, but rather learning a build and designing new ones for different situations. Making ascended and legendary account bound is a step in the right direction, especially since you can now share infusions betweens characters. However, it is not a complete solution, since
- you need multiple sets of gear for your builds
- your ascended stuff can get less useful because of balance patches, making it obsolete
- your current stats can be entirely useless for some – possible new – content, requiring another set
- you can basically completely discard your ascended gear once you get the legendary counterpart
- it is tedious to carry multiple sets of equipment
This is why I would still vote for unlockable stats on ascended items and for the use of fully unlocked ascended items as precursors. Unlocking stats can be expensive, say half as much as making a new ascended item, but at least you have a more convenient weapon afterwards.
As a consequence, balance patches have less impact, since you can keep your item and simply unlock another stat combination. This is less expensive and frustrating than making a new one and you also make some progress towards your precursor. And due to the link ascended -> legendary, you do not need to decide beforehand which path you want to pursue. Instead you start out with ascended and improve the weapon as much as you want. As a bonus, this is a guaranteed way to a precursor.
Looks like a really nice change so far.
Just one question: Are we going to get another shot at skins from the living story with the new reward system?
Each point you put in the arcana line reduces the recharge by one percent. The global cooldown (the time until you can swap attunements again) starts out at 1.625s and can go down to 1,25s. The cooldown of an attunement (the time until you can use it again after swapping away from it) starts out at 13s and can go down to 10s.
The formula seems to be as follows:
<base time> * 100 / (100 + <points in arcana>)
Wait until March, 27 when they release information about the “Removing Restrictions” and “Account-Bound” section of the feature patch. There is some potential that your problem will resolve then.
1. Using this guide it costs about 2g 26s if you have access to all karma vendors and buy the rest.
2. I usually level cooking when there is a large gap in the personal story, which is probably not most efficient, but I find it works well enough.
Edit: Fixed typo.
(edited by Ignavia.7420)
Did you do the events at the Eldvin Monastery south of Krytan Waypoint?
I leveled cooking to level 400 on every charakter so far. Getting 7 levels in like an hour nearly for free is always nice to have.
I’m not a dev obviously, but we already know that the overall damage of Berserker is going to be reduced by about 10%. We also know that some new traits are coming that could make support builds more powerful. Some changes to encounters could also be on the way. All in all, it’s way safer to just wait till the feature patch is released and see how it plays out. Yeah, waiting four more week is hard, but making a potentially wrong choice now and having to redo it later is worse.
Major traits will now be unlocked via traits guides, a new in-game item. Double-clicking on a trait guide will unlock its associated trait. You can find trait guides by completing specific content in the world, like story dungeons, minidungeons, WvW, personal story, specific bosses, and discovering certain areas on the world map. As excited as we are to let players earn traits with feats of bravery and cunning, we know not everyone is the exploring or adventure type—which is why we’ve included the option for you to buy trait guides from profession trainers! The cost of current traits varies based on the tier of that trait. Newly added traits to the game will be set at a higher price point
A screenshot of your achievement overview before and after getting a new one would surely be helpful.
Nah, it’s not going to be an April Fool’s joke. All of their previous jokes where released on April, 1, not sooner. You could also recognize their prank if you paid some attention, like with the Commando class.
This. Sounds. Awesome. This is exactly the kind of progression I want to see in the game. Going out in the world and exploring as much as possible instead of just getting to level 80 as fast as possible. And it also facilitates experiments with builds. By the way, great marketing to post the titles of the blog posts already.
Indeed, thanks for the information. I’m getting more and more curious about those new means of progression.
Hint: [Suggestion] Extensible Ascended Gear/Precursor Crafting
There are lot of ways how to combine items to get precursor… well, rather chance to get it. I got lost now and need help – what happens if I mix (exotic!) 3 harpoons and 1 axe? Will I get random exotic weapon with chance for precursor?
You will get a random weapon of the same rarity (if exotic this includes precursors).
Just to be super explicit here: A random weapon really means random. You can also get a greatsword or a bow.
They could at least tell us how long we have to wait until we get to know when they announce the date where they give us an ETA on how long it is till the feature patch.

I just came up with the idea of separating the casuals from the hardcore players BY SERVERS! What do you say?
And develop and maintain two different games for both types of servers? Bad idea.
If you feel really cheap, you can also adjust the value of the Full-Screen Gamma in the settings to see in the dark.
First, this is not going to be the big feature patch, as has been stated multiple times by devs already. Glory is going to be removed and the first living story arc is concluded.
As always: Game mechanics > Play The Way You Want. You cannot make a game without rules.
There are the same green lasers in Lion’s arch, currently. They are just fired more frequently and have less power.
Current Scarlet's Knights (Post Patch 3/6)
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Currently you seem to need 30+ players per knight to even get them down within the 15 minutes, as long as everyone pays attention and knows what he does. How are you supposed to get them down within 6 minutes for the achievement?
That said, I welcome the change to loot and attunements. They have to look at event scaling, however. And loot should be awarded for everyone participating at one of the events, as long as one knight gets defeated.
(edited by Ignavia.7420)
Nice and useful suggestion. Especially when you quickly need to change skills between encounters, it can happen that you accidentally activate a skill.
Any class can get any weapon, just as with drops.
I have the same issue with my ele, even though I’m level 80, use full Berserker gear as well as the powerful potion. I use FGS whenever it is up, frostbow and what not. I don’t get loot more often than I get it, however.
Bonus points to people who finish Scarlet with the Cow, Quaggan or Snowglobe finishers.
There you go. Peneloopee is finally happy.
As for the achievement: I did not get it yet, mainly because I do not want to watch the cutscene every time. But I probably can’t resist to try it anyway.
Spinal back ( exotic) Acc bound--> soulbound
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Ignavia.7420
Well, soulbound on use means soulbound on use.
This is a bug they are currently investigating: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/escape/Assault-Knights-Full-Heal/first#post3715103.
Holy Buggieness. Or Maybe Bad explanations?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

I assume you mean the assault knights. According to
Legendary Assault Knights will drop 5 Deluxe Gear Boxes and a chance at an Assault Knight Power Core, which can be used to color the Tempered Spinal Blades back item. Defeating all three knights within 6 minutes will award several masterwork items, a luck bonus, 1 Obsidian Shard, and 5 Blade Shards.
you should get five chests for killing such a boss. I only got those once however. The second time I got 3 Bags of Alliance Supplies and the third time nothing at all. It could be that you only get the chests once per day. I hope that the Power Cores are not restricted, however.
He is right beside that purple portal.
I found him on top of the tower near Magnus The Bloody Handed.
1. Right click them and select equip to equip them without choosing stats.
2. Yes, you can still upgrade them later. It even becomes account bound again,
3. The recipes are probably staying after the event.
Is it better to split the zerg to fight the Assault Knights or should you get them down one after the other? Also, do you have any thoughts about how to get them down within 6 minutes?
(edited by Ignavia.7420)
Using your phrasing: You pretty much skip the entire dungeon and get directly to the boss. And the boss is already in a miserable state.
Just craft the spineblade back piece. The basic one with no upgrade whatsoever. And enter the purple portal.
This only grants you entrance to the very last part of the story, while skipping the actual battle. So to do that, you still have to defeat the Assault Knights.
At the top of the hour, every hour, three assault knights spawn in Lion’s Arch which you have to kill. Kill all three of them, get all three color buffs, and you’re able to go through the white portal. After that there’s a hologram and i’m not sure what else other than that the ending is awesome (I used the purple portal which skips you to the ending given you have the spinal blade pack and doesn’t require the assault knights to be killed)
How long does the buff last? (Don’t all three spawn at the same time?) At work so I can’t test the new stuff out yet.
The buff lasts 5 minutes.
Someone in another thread suggested that the Twisted Menders heal him. That could indeed be causing it.
Had that happening to us, too. Once the red knight was already down and once the red one was at about 50%.
