If you want Mawdrey 2, then craft it. It is already available for everyone.
Make the new backpiece, get Mawdrey II and be happy.
Additionally, please please please add guild commander tags. Being able to only have your guild see the tag would be such a boon. I’d pay separately for a tag that only my guild could see.
Even that functionality should be a feature of the “normal” commander tag. As with colors there should just be a dropdown menu or some radio buttons where you can choose the visibility (public/guild/squad/party).
While you are at it, you should also add achievements for the time you have your tag up, both overall and in one session. Another awesome idea would be to an achievement for being one of x commanders on a map.
Back to business: The commander tag is an organisational tool and it should only be used as such. Adding any silly achievements for having tags or for tagging up a lot is just plain silly as it gives wrong incentives for people to buy commander tags or for tagging up.
That doesn’t make any sense. Keep Vistas as Vistas. What they should change are the Points of Interest. Instead of just discovering them for exp only, you find it, get its name, Icon appears on top of your map, you press it and you get a page worth of information and historical references of the place in question and a cool picture.
Really cool stuff, you should open a new thread for that to make it more visible.
She’s now the basic composition of a WvW zerg.

I saved Jennah, Knut and Smodur. Then I quickly made me a coffee, went to the store fetching the newspapers and read it when I came back. Finally I looked at what happened to Phlunt only to find out that my character has been disconnected due to an excessive period of inactivity. Life’s tough sometimes.
If ANet actually announces this rather than yet another data mined “fact” posted on Reddit, then you can all panic and complain.
Since an Anet staff member actually commented on the Reddit thread, it’s save to say that this is official. Can we now panic and complain, please?
So far I’ve heard
- no refunds unless you have 4+ tags
- old tags all become blue
- have to buy each new color for 300g
I currently have 3 tags, so the above means I get 0 refund, paid full price for tag, and I get reduced functionality (can’t pick the color I paid for) vs new tags?
That is… less than ideal.
Pretty much this. That’s the second time today after the standardized character models where I’m first quite happy about the change and then realize there’s a catch.
I like the mega server, my server was empty and lonely before it. I don’t know why you complaining, does the drops decrease or something. You guys are only the minority, there are plenty of people that enjoys it.
This thread is about world bosses specifically. Of course megaservers have advantages and having fuller maps is one of them. When it comes to world bosses, however, they take away every challenge. It used to be fun to do Frozen Maw or Fire Elemental with 5-10 people. There also was a time where Taidha or the Megadestroyer actually failed sometimes, meaning you had to work together properly and victory was all the sweeter.
I’m pretty happy about this as well. But as many others I don’t see the reasoning behind restricting it to team queue and custom arenas. I mean, it does not hurt to make it available for the other game modes, does it? More options are always nice and nobody is forced to play this way.
I think that a simpler, easier way to get this issue sorted is to give an option to create a PvP character which will be a human of set height. You won’t be able to change race or height of the model. No other character will be allowed to join the mists, nor will the PvP characters be able to go into PvE. We had this in GW1 and it was great.
I loathed this. PvE characters had to buy all upgrades and skills themselves and PvP character could only do PvP. All this accomplished was to take up character slots.
You can now use Mawdrey 2 to transform Bloodstone Dust into awesome stuff, like greens and blues. Still better than deleting, though.
The rumors were true. \o/
Command the Rainbow —> Different colors for tags.
Anyone care to explain to me why this is important. Are there people running WvW who can’t read who need to be told “follow red” or “stack of green”?
Mainly because it’s something that has been suggested in the CDI among many other nice ideas that hopefully get implemented, too – at least some of them.
But the different colors are nice themselves, when you have many commanders on a map to quickly get an overview. One example would be the Three-Headed-Wurm where you have at least 3 commanders. It’s just easier to say “Go to the red commander for amber” than to say “Go to Super Awesome Rofl Commander for amber” and it’s also easier to find for players. In WvW it would be something like “Go to the red commander to cap camps” or whatever.

Fresh Start probably means that they reset all achievements. Wait, better not give them ideas.
Tricks and Explosives could be new traps for WvW, but that’s just speculation.
In spanish it’s translated as “Be a true commander” (Sed verdaderos comandantes)
Hopefully that means that it is not just the colors, but that you can set the visibility of your tag, too. Making it account bound would not hurt, either.
I prefer balance patch before the feature pack patch. Why do you change the visuals and basic rules while people running away from your game because of stupid balance issues.
Tournament of Legends is on August, 23/24. They don’t want to mess that up.
That should answer your question.
I stopped doing world bosses when they introduced megaservers and the world boss schedule for the same reasons you mentioned. Everything but Tequatl and the wurm is just a punching bag and for those to you need a good map and therefore taxis.
You should still put that feedback in the appropriate threads:

Command the Rainbow —> Different colors for tags.

Since it explicitly says Commander’s Compendium inventory item the tag itself is probably still be bound to a character.
Edit: Just checked ingame: The tag is still soulbound.

Luckily I still found an ascended pancake in the refrigerator. It’s getting too late to play by now, but at least the hotfixes should be done tomorrow.
I opened a thread asking for an option to standardize characters yesterday (link).
Can’t you just turn down your graphics settings? =P
There is still a different model for each race and neither weapons nor back items are standardized. Also, would you want to play like this or watch someone stream it?
You can also require people to be at least 2 minutes (or some arbitrary number) in the PvP area to interact with the bank. By PvP area I mean any PvP map and Heart of the Mists. So if you just played a match you can access your bank, but if you came from the open world, you have to wait.
First of, this is not my own idea, I saw it first here. But I feel it well deserves its own thread.
Currently there is lots of distraction in PvP, like flashy weapon and armor skins, lots of particle effects and people playing the smallest Asura possible. All this is taking away your attention while it is neither part of the actual battle nor requiring any skill on your opponent’s part.
So a simple solution would be to a “Distraction Free Mode”. There should be an option (no forcing) that provides
- Two standardized character models, one male, one female (the same for all races)
- One standardized weapon per type
- A standardized light/medium/heavy armor (maybe with the class icon on back and front of the chestpiece and dyed in the color of the team)
- Less particle clutter
Since there are already tonics in the game, it also fits thematically. I personally think it should be an option only for PvP, WvW was never meant to be an equal ground. But the particle effect reduction would still be nice to have there.
Discussion is very welcome.

The option to have standardised enemies would be awesome. +1 to that. That should include (taking some stuff from above):
- Two standardised character models, one male, one female
- One standardised weapon per type
- A standardised light/medium/heavy armor (maybe with the class icon on back and front of the chestpiece and dyed in the color of the team)
And their should also be another option to reduce the particle clutter, but this has already been suggested all too often.
The Megadestroyer could charge up a deadly AoE attack while he is in the lava. Charging could take like 45-60s, so you either need to get him out of the lava during that time or get him down to the next phase. The AoE should be evadable to prevent trolling. He should also do more damage while standing in the lava.
Having a dedicated slot for minis has been suggested quite often, but linking this to the wardrobe is a very nice idea. They should be treated like outfits, though, meaning that you don’t need transmutation charges to change their “skin”.
It still works if you have a bloodlust on your water weapon (even a lower grade one)
Also not sure if THAT workaround was patched too, so try it with your existing set before investing.
It does not work anymore.
Elementalists can currently activate Glyph of Elementals and swap this for another elite while the skill is not on cooldown, i. e. while the elemental is active (see the attached screenshot).
Edit: Glyph of Lesser Elementals is not affected.

So from what I understand, you are trying to use mouse clicks to move around the map like in GW1? GW2 does not have that option.
I used Soldier armor instead of my usual Berserker armor, and D/F Fresh Air (with Renewing Stamina). The invulnerability, immobilize and chill helped me quite a bit. If you need more survivability, you can also use Mist Form and Arcana Shield. Also make sure you stay with your front towards the wolf. Use the terrain to your advantage, NPCs cannot jump.
Here’s what you should do:
1. Rightclick on character
2. Report for goldselling
3. Block
Usually they are out of the game pretty quickly. If you are constantly getting whispered by them, you can also change your presence status to “invisible” so that nobody can whisper you anymore.
I also don’t understand why you find this “pay to win”. Nobody is forced to buy gold from them (don’t get me wrong there, nobody is allowed to buy gold from them anyway and is either risking getting hacked or banned). Furthermore you can also trade gems to gold using official means and it’s not like there aren’t any ingame methods to get gold.
Nah better punish those filthy sideswitchers. No win rewards, max half of reward points and no count to daily/monthly progress.
So people just wait and stack to a team then? Sideswitching is done to counter a bigger cancer to the game (stacking).
Your kneejerk bandaid would just make stacking worse and even more permanent.
No it just unlearn bad switching habits and learn them to lose battle sometime. But sideswitchers can be eliminate much easier simply don allow them to chose side few sec longer than autobalance ends so they cant spam join wining team right after.
How will you do that (end the “bad habits”)? Win = (250% more) rank points = rank up and track rewards.
Here is the issue:
1. Rank 50 player joins red
2. Rank 35 player joins blue
3. Rank 70 player joins red because 50 > 35
4. Blue is now taboo because everyone who is watching wants to join red
5. Blue gets a few 20, 25, and 15 players that don’t know better. Meanwhile red gets 15, 40, and 60 players that are watching.
6. Server is now 4v5 with red up 150-50.
7. The original rank 35 player [/b]rightfully deems the match illegitimate[/b] and decides if people are going to farm, he will too. He goes to spectate to force autobalance.See the problem? It started from (3) to (5) when score doesn’t indicate a winning/losing team. You’re suggesting we fix the problem at (7).
So if people could no longer see other players’ ranks when spectating, would this fix this problem?
Personally I think autobalancing should be reduced to an absolute minimum. It just disrupts the flow of the game if you are constantly getting ported back to spawn. But I do agree that unbalanced games are a problem in hotjoin. Just forcing players into the team with fewer people or into the loosing team if they are equal instead of allowing them to choose a team would be a good start.
Neat find, I didn’t see that. Didn’t expect them to make her a ghost….now I’m kind wondering why they didn’t do that for our Order mentors, or any of the other notable characters who die. Oh well…
It’d have been awesome to see Forgal’s ghost still on Claw Island, fighting off the undead inside, until we retook it, at which point his soul would be at peace and pass into the Mists, or even sometimes have ghosts of the characters that died in your Personal Story “haunting” your Home Instances at night or something.
Kind of reminds me of Harry Potter where you could only come back as a ghost if you chose to do so. Maybe Sieran, Tybalt and Forgal just preferred to move on.
C’mon, Taimi has been working on the waypoint network scanner so far. Once she’s done with it, she’ll go back to improving her golem.
If so many people tell you that it’s capped at 100%, the chance that they are right is pretty high. I’d say about 53%. The chance that a dev will answer is certainly lower than that.
You should report him for scamming, but you should not expect to get your money back.
Nah, I think it was on the 452nd skyhammer thread he said something along the lines of “something, something, we wont take it off people actually like it”
Could be true as well, but I find
Both Claypool and Bearce share the PvP team’s high expectations for Skyhammer, which has the potential to become a player-favorite.
to be hilarious enough already.
I remember someone, I think grouch, saying that they made internal testing or something with a control group and a big percentage of people like the map. So were wrong, people love the map. That or anet are awesome trolls.
You probably refer to this.
GW-GW2-linking issue: unable to link accounts
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Ignavia.7420
I’m not sure if you are having the same issue I had 11 months ago, but I got it solved after several frustrating days: If I recall correctly you first had to login to your GW2 account, go to the account page and click on “upgrade or link accounts”. Then you were asked to provide you GW login data and after submitting you were taken to another login page asking to provide your GW login data. I thought at that point that you had to type the same thing again – for confirmation or whatever – but instead you had to type in your GW2 credentials! This drove me crazy because the website did not explicitly distinguish between GW1 and GW2.
The article states it is the penultimate release before the break. Interesting find, though. Maybe they add in SAB or Dragon Bash to cover the break, but I guess they deserve some summer holidays anyway.
This is why I hope that they add region achievements to older zones in the future, among other stuff to make them more lively.
I’m already looking forward to the “Put the exclusive PvP tournament armor in the gemstore” threads after Gamescom. To any of those suggestions the answer is no. As long as items are available (I’m looking at you, Tribal armor) it is fine to have exclusive acquisition methods.
What the above players said.
There is a fun trick where you can go cast your meteor shower, then lightning flash away from enemy zerg so as to not be point guard no more and finish casting peacefully. Not sure if casting tornado after the meteor shower is worth it or just lava fonting.
It is worth it, at least situationally. You get 1832 power, 916 precision and 916 vitality on top of what you already have. If people are not paying attention, they are dropping like flies.
