Sometimes there truly are too many and you need a stealth, so the fountains are good, or sometimes chased by 10 and you need a respite, stealth fountains are nice.

I’ll try to say their locations as best I can:

First one is right near spawn/waypoints; on the other side of the start of the puzzle there is an area down the bottom, all water and dat, and a structure with a few thin stone beams connecting parts of it, you go up a stone beam ramp thing, then across a couple of pillars, continue up the structure, fountain is a jump from the top, in a small alcove in the wall behind.

Second is a small ways through the puzzle, directly after log traps and before the well. There are a bunch of boulder type stone things, or well carved wall chunks in the wall adjacent to the stairs leading towards the well, jump up the wall incline there and into the cave, 2nd fountain inside.

Final fountain is past the Arena, on your way up to the chest, before the flame traps and next to the spike traps, if you go down the stairs at the spike trap floor then turn right, you can see directly the road leading straight into the 3rd fountain room.

Stealth lasts 5 minutes and is removed if you take dmg, use a skill of revive someone etc. It is not easy, but you can get through the dark room area and up the arena using the 2nd stealth, but you must be fast and have a way of seeing in the dark. This is either your Memories Of The Mad King Complete Edition, or a Flame Ram blueprint AoE to see the outlines of things. That last takes some getting used to, but after a while it is easy

Another large problem with this is that ‘WvW population’ =/= Server population. It’s kind of impossible for ANet to see who in the future might bother going into WvW, who might stop and take a break to play through Skyrim again, who plays WvW the most etc. so WvW population is constantly shifting and changing…

Learn to run, fight kill… stealth isn’t that far away and you can definitely make it should you utilise logical timing Other than that just make a run for it, that or fight, or again just run for it. Unless you play an upscale or only use skill 1 and 6 it shouldn’t be a problem. As soon as you get the first stealth you’re set… If this is beyond you then make a dash along the start and get to the second one… All you need is stability and a cleanse or two, it really isn’t that hard.

Waiting for a server mate to jump down then running as far as you can along the puzzle is a tactic you can employ as well, although it isn’t really that honourable… If you’re that desperate or useless in a combat situation then go for it, that or can go back to Orr and wallow in despair…

I know it can be hard, but really isn’t difficult to run away or dash a short distance of the puzzle. Keep trying and keep going, I got the achieve the first time I went in there, despite around 9 DE players waiting at the spawn vs our 4. If you really really really badly need that achievement wake up at 3:00am and make your wild dash for freedom.

Good fun leading the EB infantry tonight; we systematically had 3 T3 towers flipped slowly, but we had a lot of fun and never wiped plus it’s hard to get everyone to port, and hard to fight you both at the same time xD especially enjoyed the fights near Umberglade when we set up some trebs

We would complain about Elona probs yes, but we don’t know them so it isn’t our problem, ANet seem to think it’s funny putting us with you guys every other week I liked you back when you were nice, quiet, decent and non-colonially-expanding Abbadon’s, who played UW a few times and were not known for anything in particular except being one of those ‘normal’ servers…

I think it shouldn’t be removed tbh; normally guilds don’t run with commander tag up anyway cos that means blobtown – might be different in NA, but here in EU we dislike blobtown… Well mostly… Cough cough Germany cough… some people enjoy playing without constant skill lag and feeling like they’re playing on PowerPoint rather than GW2.

I think guilds are entitled to play with who they want, if they’re arrogant and mean about it then yknow, that’s their problem… I have a leg on either side of the fence, and never had any misgivings, you get the infantry and you get the guilds, it’s conventional warfare In my opinion it is healthy for guild’s commanders to get involved in the community a lot and lead infantry relatively often, as well as their own guild, that way fingers can’t be pointed at them for being ‘isolationist’. A good attitude is helpful as well…

The only time I dislike the rally thing is if fighting 2+ decent thieves alone, because he dual shadow refuge, stealthed and downed skills make it impossible to win, plus they can just get out of the fight whenever they need to. (Normally 2 or more I’m struggling to survive anyway if they’re of backstab/hs spam variety.)

Also you don’t need to tell us that you had that matchup xD we all saw and rejoiced… until ANet let you out of it :/

I have to say I dislike the ‘kitten move, heal, keep kiting’ I have to use in small scale should a decent thief latch onto me, the panic at the start is rather annoying and it’s rather hard to avoid heartseeker spam and constantly revolve for fear of backstab on my poor barely mobile guardian… That said I do win most 2-3vs1 (generally WvW group builds vs solo build doesn’t go down too well) given enough time, but the thief completely removes me from the fight as I have to backpedal and counter heal/block/boon spam until stable again. Health goes down incredibly fast, losing 4k-5k in chunks is scary on a 16k character.

Anyways the glass longbow rapid fire guys deal a lot more dmg faster than heartseeker, cept they die from retaliation after a while, and you can actually see them!

I would like to be able to use whirling wrath in an enemy zerg without having to heal afterwards, but then I’d also like my heal to have no cooldown… It’s not really necessary as I can heal it up and not be too helpless after, also it does enough dmg to be worth it clusters of downed enemies are just so fun to create!

World Versus World… The fight is what we live for, at least in EU, unless you’re maybe on Abbadon’s, but basically learn how to fight, and you will achieve your goal, things can’t always be easy for you, either wait for someone who can actually protect himself on hai way up there to pull you up, or make your own way. To be honest it’s not really like you have to fight; at a convienient point make a break for the stealth, job done. Other than that just making a break for the puzzle is normally enough…

I do think it is a bit harder to fight off larger forces due to the instant respawn, but skill level comes into it a bit also, it took 9 Miller’s to destroy us 3 Gandarans after which point I left, cos yknow I was only really there for the fighting.

A list of abilities that will help you complete the puzzle, should you need to get past enemies in any way: stealth, teleports, leaps, surprise, logic, swiftness, stability, teamwork (leaving behind a poor fellow to get killed whilst you make a dash for the fountain of kitten denial), stuns, immobilises, cripples, chills, making friends, emanating a positive zen attitude…

It’s not amazingly hard just work for it and you might achieve it, my two cents…

As far as not changing builds goes I think Ele and Thief take the top spots rather easily; insanely hard to catch either of them. My guardian is decent when running, I use sword 2 on mobs a lot for that extra jump and also leap of faith; without switching I have 16s swiftness every 48 seconds

K so, no idea why I’m still following this thread, but thought I’d attempt to share my perspective as a (hopefully) neutral, probs my last post here.

RoF is a nice server, I’m pretty sure Herr de Friehoffe (apologies for any misspelling) is one of the forum warriors of said server – most, arguably all servers have them; I find some members of XxX on my server to be particularly mouthy and disrespectful on the forums, that said they have the ’they’re Italian they don’t mean to say it that way’ thing going for them.

As with any Server winning by a ridiculous amount vs 1 or more significantly lower tiered servers, RoF most likely has all of it’s PvE slackers, Orr campers and WXP hoes streaming in like there’s no tomorrow – which would also explain the being able to kill 10 of them with 2 thing – fighting a player is somewhat harder than face rolling over the 1 key to kill Shadow Behemoth. Among each server you will find duellists and skilled players, though in some they will occur rather infrequently (cough cough Abbablob cough) and in some servers you will never see an enemy outside his keep on his Superior AC munching his bratwurst unless in an 80 man rolling blob at 4am supporting 5 Omega Golems (see last bracket). Sorry that devolved into meaningless flaming, what I meant was I don’t think that applies to you guys, you’d all likely to have good solo downers and good small group fighters – I’d wager that guy challenging people with his gauntlets on the last page knows his way around a fight.

I also move that the denizens of RoF be henceforth referred to as ‘RoFlers’.

TL;DR – you girls are all pretty, cyu next time ANet sees fit to release us from the German Horde…

^Nah I have done, used to be an Underworld veteran back in the day – (we were bouncing from T7-T9 back then) but point is yu don’t kno pain until you have faced the German horde! We’re against AM this matchup, you can’t even go neaar a tower without getting mowed down by 10+ superior ACs and the Germans camping them all day, they run away from us and build ballistas and more arrow carts in the field, and I can’t even make any WWII jokes because ANet will infract me like last time… :’(

Anyways enjoy your matchup lads, try to cheer up, you don’t have it too bad, just keep up morale and try hard, you can still have some fun as your enemies will actually fight you! xD Btw very impressed with RoF last matchup, you guys performed amazingly and never let yourselves get beaten up about anything, good work

Problem is we were never in and inferior position; if we really wanted to I’m pretty sure we could blob all day and win the matchup, but that’s not what anyone wants from a game, they want to have fun, for some reason. Either way I lead EB a lot so I shouldn’t be complaining about blobs sometimes xD only cos my guild is in a state of repairing atm.

Anyways tone down the superior AC spam, fight on the open field and learn more – if you guys learnt that then you would advance in tiers even further, and we might not have to face you any more. We would also probably respect the fighting better than the running and spamming siege as you run. When in doubt Baue ballista!

Was fun leading reset @ EB; good fights of similar sizes, albeit we blobbed in preparation for the AM guys (sorry Miller’s), nice fighting and looting you all, great group of infantry today and TS was only really used for scout reports and group music xD

Shout out to Miller’s Sound [BLOB] guild, you proved to be a very potent blob-countering force, that in SM was our first wipe all night xD and thanks for leaving it to us at the second attempt when we came back from spawn; tbh you could have wiped us there if you wanted. What I’m curious about is who you guys are under that tag Anyways nice blobbing around with everyone.

Had a very fun time leading the EB infantry for the previous few hours today amazing group, and enjoyed only having to type things once or a couple of times at most. Nice sparring with Mya/Army/ms pugs, and apologies for the times we outnumbered down the RoF group – if it helps your keep was only cos you touched our fully upgraded Golanta… wrong move xD

Sorry for not having much guild input right now, would love to be fighting you guys, but exams + rl has prevented me from making as much of an appearance as I’d like; other than that I discovered we lost more than half our Officer core after a fricking guild puzzle the otter night, I’m telling you, that stuff is destructive, kitten you PvE!

Perhaps we’ll return after much band-aid spam and when my schedule is less erratic.

Other than that, to the XxX boys and girls – I can’t seem to tell whether you guys are just loling about in these threads or not o.O half of the time I think you might be just playing about and not meaning things, half of the time I think you’re really complaining or making a point, the final half is full of confusion and doubt, so that doesn’t really help, along with the fact I’ve never seen a post that can’t have two meanings from you in here, and nothing I can consider serious, always either a complaint or then I start doubting that it’s a complaint and thinking you guys are fooling about and teasing the enemy a bit. I generally run around with Compote trays in my inv; it’s always a great buff to have, and works especially well if you get that first smash into them, I haven’t explored others yet, but Compote is definitely good and a stable buff.

It’s also highly dependant on whether you are from EU or NA (or elsewhere), as that could potentially render half of these posts irrelevant.

I knew my research would be useful. Now we just need to filter for the most aerodynamically effective Asura; I’m guessing one would need a small body so as to minimise air resistance, coupled with large ears, which when extended can slow the descent of an Asura-torpedo, allowing for minor course corrections and targeting.

Impaling people with Asura, the possibilities are endless… assassinate keep lords, place strategically to create handholds for a Zerg to climb up, kamikaze units bearing highly combustable booze and birthday candles… heck the basic idea would have solved the walking into Mordor problem instantly, and made the LotR films a lot shorter in the process…

I have noticed many things about Walls, in my time playing the game. After a in-depth study of such, I have arrived at the conclusion that they require a bonk on the head with the nerf-flail; here I provide you with insurmountable evidence:

- Walls can take up the attention of countless inexperienced players with their cursors poised diligently over the ‘1’ button, ignorant of the many people typing for them to stop.
- To add insult to injury, the walls can not be destroyed by 1-spam, which as we all know goes against everything WvW stands for.
- In addition, Walls seem to have high autotarget priority, meaning any of those playing on mobile devices (or any of those inferior to a good computer), or unable to target things themselves, suffer random targeting of aforementioned Walls.
- Walls also render most siege weapons near obsolete, your surprise melee-Treb is more often than not easily destroyed; this coupled with the lack of ‘Asura’ firing option makes the most effective way of dealing with coming across a Wall flyhacking.
- Lastly, for some reason Walls take up a Guardians Grandmaster Trait ‘Battle Presence’, which isn’t awesome seeing as it only effects 5 people altogether, and if standing in the courtyard of a tower 4 uses can be taken, if standing anywhere else you’re generally losing 2.

As you can clearly see from the compiled data, a solution to this crisis is needed sorely – I suggest adding an ICD, making the maps bigger, buffing Trebuchets (Viva La Asura) or removing the constructs altogether.

Blobaddon Guild [BLOB] was founded 3 days ago and what i wanted to say with reaching 200 Member in that short time, is that Abaddon´s Players/ Comunity take it easy, with all that flames and whining in the forum. We realy don´t care and just play the game, maybe with little trolling intension with that new guild ;-)

It’s a shame my server doesn’t have the manpower or existence to make a guild that rises in members to such and extent#Yolo.

You said it would cause more problems then it fixed, all you come up with was “my guardian will get destroyed by 2 Thieves who happen to be using pistols”. Join the club of Everybody.
And just how would Retal stop them anyway when they just switch to their S/D and steal it anyway…
Guardians have more means to deal with ranged then most professions anyway.

Bro, I gave an example; in reality anyone ranged would destroy a Guardian without retal or with an ICD on it; you seem to have looked into what I have said very thoroughly, as you definitely summed up what I said there /sarcasm.

Anyways, I want Guardian to not be broken by anyone with a bow/staff and mastery of the arrow keys, that’s the problem I see here.

My solution would be ‘Cannot take Retal Dmg from >2 sources at any given point’ thereby fixing AoE and not shafting the poor Guardian that can’t deal with the upscale spamming Water 1 Staff at them.

I love how everybody keeps ignoring the one suggestion I have given that is actually good.

Again, they need to fix it to a set percentage of damage, dependent on how much damage you do to the opponent. Meaning burst attacks are going to get retaliated hard, and those with weaker attacks (those who hit for under 300 damage to their foes) aren’t going to get wiped out by something that is doing more damage than they are.

I think that’s a decent solution that could work, as could what I put forward; happy with either, not ICD, as everyone is so happy to scream about. As long as at the end of the day I can still play my Guardian properly and not be at a complete disadvantage as my enemy can actually move, then I’m fine.

Aurora Glade, FSP – Underworld is also on my to do list, but it sounds unlikely And probably wouldn’t be very well balanced.

Sunnyhill/Longview/Woodhaven Tower is bugged in a way that people can accidentally and seemingly at random be knocked through the gate when attacking it (often at melee distance. Not technically on the server but it can happen, so bear that in mind, unless there was blatant fly hacking or something, it may have been non-intentional; ofc following an incident like that you would enjoy seeing the courtesy of those involved jumping back out to allow a fair taking of the tower.

The lag is completely awful the last couple days in a high T5 matchup atm; chat takes a couple of seconds to work at best, I dc regularly and have to requeue, sometimes chat jus doesn’t work for a week or so. I don’t know if it’s affecting everyone as much, but it doesn’t look to be on my end :P it’s getting unplayable tbh…

Guys don’t refer to Flamethrowers/Whirlwind in arguments, unless to state the far that they’re broken as far as proccs are concerned; they need to be changed to procc a lot less.

Change it so one person can only take retal dmg from 2 sources or under; that way Guardian’s ranged effectiveness doesn’t get shafted, and we get a 60% dmg reduction on AoE skill use in zergs. That should do it tbh, cept for some skills like Nades/Flamethrower/Whirlwind/Feedback, the latter shouldn’t really procc, and the others either need a half in procc count (not dmg done ofc) or a ‘multi-projectile finisher’ style effect, so that each procc only has a 20% chance to occur.

Sound good?

I would make a WWII joke but last time I got infracted It’s unfair that it doesn’t happen with French ‘coward’ jokes, you lot just need to get over it and stop being so sensitive, so that I can make fun of you.

@Moerscho, it’s entirely possible to take down a 40-45% Reinforced gate and The Lord within a minute – just place some superior rams and the job gets done easily. If your soldiers know how to control themselves and not cry pvDoor and let loose the dogs of friction power, then you won’t get Orange Swords either.

I’m sure 12 stacks Confusion was worse^ IMO the only thing they had to change about confusion was maybe 10-15% dmg nerf and stop it proccing on absolutely everything, e.g. Dodges and attunement swapping. Same here, half or otherwise lessen amount of proccs, or make it so one person can’t take retal dmg from more than 2 sources at the same time.

Piken? You mean Ruskie-land? their night cap is made up for by the horde of Russians during the day and in the early morning before primetime.

In our defence the week we ‘smashed’ you was purely cos Arborstone wasn’t there; having 2 thirds of the points makes your score rise exponentially, and it had the complete opposite effect of what you’ve stated here, namely every PvEr known to wvW to pick up easy PoI’s and vistas, hence why you guys were overpowered.

When only 2 servers are against each other minuscule differences are infinitely more important, and extra few players at night could potentially change the matchup.

@DPvideo-topic; even if the video is okay and you only deployed several carts throughout the duration, most of us are a bit skeptical about the ‘Abbadon won’t fall’ video on the same channel just the amount of Baue Ballista sums up the problem we find; can’t find you guys on even numbers outside the pug blob of EBG, and when we do, or even if we don’t, you’re still covered in Siege, so what chance do we have to enjoy a fight?

Speaking of, to any FSP up in the NW corner of Eternal near Mendon’s for our fight last night, thanks for a good fight, even if we lost, we can sleep safely complaining about proximity to spawn… I joke, everyone enjoyed the fight, shout out to PunK and GoT for some well played tactics and pushes.

Arrow Cart Hax yet again AM :/ The Arrow cart was directly outside the door, at the start of the bridge… it was also hitting our bridge so not extended radius crap… broke my pc screening the bridge, didnt get it tho, in queue back at present…

Good fights today, was leading on EB twice today, blobbo e blobbo. I don’t think we lost any incredibly serious fights, sometime unlucky, but the fights were okay. Amount of superior arrow carts was still incredibly demoralising though. Regards to the PunK/Blob mashup; you guys were feared and targeted due to the unorthodox haze of blob follows by PunK uppercut though the mist combo. Very effective, although our group was quite resilient to it the few times we faced it. That last fight at Mendons was quite a bit of attrition, unfortunately I decided to leave due to your spawn advantage

Anyways yeah decent fights – just AM find more guilds less ACs, mmkay?
